If gradel goes Leeds will replace him with townsend of tottenham, good player I reckon.

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Don't think so. They'll simply give Sam more games.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like to think we'd get Townsend, although I doubt it. Saw him play last night and is definitely a better player than Gradel...

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, Sam and Nunez will get more games, and the rest will go to filling the gap made when the council turned down Bates' request for a loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we sold gradel for the money we're asking for then we could replacing him with someone like shaun wright phillips and still have plenty of money left over, why not?

Agree0 Disagree0

Swp are you mad? Lay off the sauce fella Ken won't spend any real money when there are hotels, corporate boxes and sections of ground to tart up.

Leeds target defender Magnus Okuong is set to become available on a free. Gj

Believable7 Unbelievable6

His contract doesnt expire until the end of this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Regarding his contract - he will not sign an extension (or a new contract) so therefore looks like he will be leaving colchester. bit like the scenario which always seems to happen at leeds - the guy can leave for free at end of season or i guess for a cut price this window?

don't know this guy - is he any good?

Sochaux have made a bid for Max Gradel. Not sure how much but i just read it on Sky Sports website.

I'd be very suprised if we still have Mad Max come september

Believable7 Unbelievable6

As good as gradel is... In the ladt year of his contract no1 in there right mind would pay 8.5 million for him. IF he leaves now it will be 5 million tops so stop plucking figures out of thin air

Agree0 Disagree0

Does not surprise me i heard early this morning from a mate in Leeds who is usually pretty reliable with his info a bid for gradel had been accepted also heard Alex Bruce on his way too apparently he has been told he will never play for Leeds again bust up with Grayson

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted the original post, Who mentioned £8.5m, I didn't mention any figures. ???

Agree0 Disagree0

sky sport understand that Sochaux have made a bid for gradel. estimated around 8.5 million

Believable4 Unbelievable9

If this is true.........sell sell sell. We have nunez.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did u get that sum from clearly doesnt state any price

Agree0 Disagree0

Take the money Ken and build something new at Elland Road
MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Where does it say 8.5 mil?
For 8.5 or anything above 4 i'd drive him there myself
Sell him that's what i say, did anyone see him laugh when he missed that pen at upton park? he wants out and as long as sg gets at least half of what we get for him we're all winning. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Im a leeds fan, and gradel only has this season left on his current contract, so if your rumour is true, a fee of 8.5 million, il drive him to sochaux myself in a 3 wheeler, make him a roast dinner to remember yorkshire by and piggyback him the last 100 yards... cant see the fee being anywhere near that sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you know its 8.5 million, if he does go its going to be an undisclosed fee anyway, when have we ever known under KB,

Agree0 Disagree0

That's one of Gradel's good qualities. plays with a smile on his face, and never admits defeat. but 8.5mil we would be silly to turn that down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Last year of his contract, worth about 3 million we will be lucky to get 1.5million for him.

Hi all, just watched SG press conference on LUTV. He was asked about Mikael Forsell. Leeds will make a decision on him before the weekend. He was asked the following: 'Can you say how well he has done, has he impressed?' to which Grayson responded, 'yeah he has, he's a strong lad, holds the ball up well and has good qualities'. It was mentioned also that he is plaing in a leeds XI against Sheff Utd today, so it may hinge on that. Finally Grayson said he's got, quote 'A few offers on the table, but he's desperate to impress here, he sees this as a big opportunity for himself'. So at least one of the boxes is ticked, he seems to want to play for the shirt. IMO jury is out still, but if we take him on rest assured he'll have earned it. MOT.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

If he is fit he would be a fantastic freebie. Not unlike Keogh but maybe more of a goal threat

Leeds after colchester centre back who's name I can't spell Marcus okhuange Something like that. Hull also

If leeds bid for martin waghorn at leicester, then they will be willing to do a players plus cash deal - ross mccormack plus 1.5 million

Believable1 Unbelievable13

So not only are we going to offer our only fit striker at present (Keogh is only on loan) but we are going to give £1.5 million as well.

Get real

Agree0 Disagree0

The new Footy Manager isn't out yet mate, wait til November for your crazy dealings.

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack is going nowhere,he's becominga favourite of the fans and got a good aplause from the Fans when substituted at Donny.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leicester fan get lost, mccormack is worth more

Agree0 Disagree0

No way. Waghorn has a silly name, isn't that good, doesn't support Leeds plus McCormack in best form of his Leeds career. Not happening. Probably worst rumor ever on this site.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, I agree worst rumour ever. Ross has started the season very brightly and looks like he could have his best season yet, and yes, Waghorn is a silly name. So is Kasper..... ha ha good riddance you big baby

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack is the best striker at the club-bar none.. Why would SG even consider trading him

Agree0 Disagree0

You have to love Leicester fans don't you? F*** all to talk about so they come up with this dross. Enjoy Kasper loser

Agree0 Disagree0

I dunno, there have been some bad rumours. But McCormack's not going anywhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why the f**k would waggy join a bunch of has beens,,, he aint that desperate unlike maxy ill play for a tenna gradel, the brother of heskey,, both spend more time on their azzes haha .. you used to be famous your not anymore

Agree0 Disagree0

1.5mil on 1 player and mccormack umm ok fella i think you should stop smoking wateva it is ur smoking.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why on earth would we want to get rid of mccormack unless a stupidly high bid came in if he gets the correct partner up front and service he'll not be far off top scorer in league

Gradel to sign new 3year contract on 12k a week. This will be complete if we don't make a big money transfer, which is unlikely.

SOURCE-personal friend (not 100% don't shoot the messenger)

Believable9 Unbelievable9

Max will be after more than 12k a week. We were only a few grand off with Johnson's demands so expect a deal around high teens per week. Will make him highest earner at Leeds if he signs.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree i thought he would be wanting minumum 15k a week tbh but don't think our wage structure will allow this.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's a set wage limit at the club of around 11k. KB might give him 12-13, but then Howson, Snodgrass, and a couple others would expect a pay rise (which I think is fair). Hopefully Max and his agent accept that, as I'd like to keep him.

Leeds Utd have entered the race to sign preston's highly rated midfielder adam barton but face stiff competition from stoke city. Phil Brown is hoping to keep hold of the youngster and has already turned down an undisclosed bid from leeds utd.

Source : If I told you I would have to kill you :)

Just to add I think Blackburn have also made enquiries.

Believable7 Unbelievable6

He would be a first class signing but would cost MONEY so we can dream

Has anyone entertained the possibility that the reason why we have been relatively inactive in the transfer market during the summer is because money is being set aside to entice new contracts for our best players once the August window closes? Don't know for sure if this is the case but makes you wonder. Look at Becchio, he didn't sign a new deal until Christmas of last year with only 6 months left on his existing deal. If it is true then both KB and SG will be praised from the highest heaven.

Believable12 Unbelievable7

I'm sure I remember SG or KB sayinig something ages ago like all contracts will be dealt with after the transfer window closes. If someone can confirm this? or whether I just imagined it...

Agree0 Disagree0

Players will sign because with the current team we have and proposed added squad depth(bates interview yesterday) come xmas we will be up there

Agree0 Disagree0

If that was the case, wouldn't you rather have the players tied down before the transfew window closes, so none of this speculation happens?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't that be bad planning? After the transfer window if the player still turns down a contract they can't be sold till the Jan transfer window where the fee will be significantly reduced if any, the player may just see out his contract and go for free

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a great idea
We'll let some of best players and best prospects run their contracts down to the bare knuckles, then, when there's only a year left on the contract, we won't sort it out at the transfer window. We'll wait while Xmas (maybe we can get them to sign on the cheap at the Xmas do) then if they don't sign by January we'll offer them for sale when nobody will buy them coz they're gonna wait while they're for free in 6 months time.
What could go wrong. Bet it's never gone wrong before.
What a plan

Agree0 Disagree0

Wake up leeds fans kb will be
pocketing most of the money
he stated no money available without
players being sold
by the way im a long time chelsea fan
i know what he his like

Agree0 Disagree0

No money - before the hull game he clearly said on yorkshire radio there IS money available and its upto grayson if he wants to sign players & he doesnt have to sell to do so

Agree0 Disagree0

I have just (yesterday) walked away from a contract, which I have held for three years, despite my requests I have received no rise whatsoever in the three years, even just to keep abreast of inflation? The company said I was on a good rate and shouldn't be asking for 'more'?

I have been 'headhunted' by a previous company, and offered a raise that more than makes up for the last three years.

Basically, you can stick on the same rate untill someone offers you what you want, and then you need to consider your future.

I agree that Leeds need to try and commit the people that WANT to play for Leeds into a 3 or 4 year contract

But there is nothing wrong with any of the players allowing their contracts to run and see what happens?

Beckford walked, and I am glad to see the back of anyone who doesn't care about 'LEEDS; having said that I would still give credit where it's due, he certainly repaid the belief we showed in him, even if we don't like him walking away, he's done what he feels is best for him?

Uncle Ken isn't an idiot, he's a businessman and not sentimental like we are?

We just do need to appreciate the fact that he rescued the club, tells it like it is, and ultimately has out interests at heart?

Unlike a certain Mr Risdale who seems hell bent on bankrupting as many clubs as he can, with the blesing of the FA??

Agree0 Disagree0

SG and KB will certainly know by now who wants to sign and who doesn't. I believe they are just waiting until the end of the window to offer contracts in the (unlikely) event that another club is wanting to pay an inflated price. I am confident that all the uncertainty over contracts will resolve itself after the window closes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very possible. Most important person we need to tie down though isn't Max. Especially if he scores against da Tractor Boys on Sat, it's Nunez. Also, by Xmas, Lees situation will need assessing if he is still in the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

My view on it is that if we give them new contracts now the pay rises will be effective immediately. ... Do it at Xmas and it will save the club £££

Agree0 Disagree0

To confirm top reply. I also read a couple of months ago that contracts would be sorted after the transfer window

QPR are gearing up to test Leeds' resolve with regards to Max Gradel.
Leeds have been monitoring QPR players Kaspars Gorkss & Rob Hulse for some time and QPR believe they may be able to tempt Leeds with a players plus cash deal.
They are increasingly confident due to Gradel's apparent willingness to be courted by clubs at the moment and the Leeds fans been split as to whether the whites should cash in on Gradel whilst they can.
QPR believe that the offer of an established defender and the return of old boy Hulse plus a cash offer may be seen as good business for both clubs.
However, this all seems to depend on whether or not Adel Taarabt stays or goes.

Believable4 Unbelievable14

Gorkss joined Reading yesterday so get your facts right fella

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure if i believe this but if we got a couple of million on top would be a good deal

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure I read somewhere yesterday that Gorks has already gone to a different club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Trust me, I've seen this happen before with Leeds players. A good second division winger is below average-average winger in the top tier. So if we can get 2 players that can defend at premier league level (we don't need hulse) then we're laughing

Agree0 Disagree0

Grokks has signed for reading,,, see bbc website

Agree0 Disagree0

If he wants to play at a high level. What's the point in going to the Premier League whipping boys and relegation fodder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gorkss signed for Reading a couple of days ago and we currently have 4 front line strikers on the books, Becchio, Keogh, McCormack and Paynter, 6 including Nunez and Gradel, 7 including the invisible Grella and 8 including Somma so I'd take this "report" with a HUGE pinch of salt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kaspers and Hulse were the original bait. I don't know if Kaspers going to Reading means Taraabt is staying or if Leeds decided they weren't interested in the cash plus players deal (maybe Reading made QPR a great offer).
I'm just telling you what I know.
Coincidental that I mentioned a player QPR were willing to let go.
Maybe Leeds proposed a straight cash deal & QPR are getting the funds by selling the said players. Maybe Adel's decided to stay put or maybe Leeds weren't interested in any deal involving Gradel.
All I'm telling you is that Gradel is/was the main target for QPR should Taarabt go.

So Bullard goes goes to Ipswich, we still get no one of note,WE need to no if these rumors about us if we go up this year we have to pay off all the previous owners debts,I've heard of a 5 year time limit, which runs out at the end of these season, if this is true mr bates let us lot no

Believable2 Unbelievable18

Most obvious question is why would we want Bullard? He's expensive, over rated, injury prone and, according to rumours, a complete loose cannon discipline wise

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares about Bullard... He is cr4p... I hope Clayton makes him out to be a mug on Saturday.. Assuming he isn't injured again..

Agree0 Disagree0

We would have to pay 5million if we get to prem. Over a 10 year timescale. Which is another 5 seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

One of dads work colleagues is a die hard Hull fan he said when fit Bullard is awesome in this league but has a serious attitude problem
We're better off with passionate workhorses like Clayton
MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

This 5 year time limit stuff is total and utter nonsense.

Agree0 Disagree0

No one wanted him at leeds anyway you mug, you're probably one of the alan smith fan club too. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy who said 10 years is right. It would normally be 5 but due to the way KB handled the CVA he had to offer 10 to get us back in league

Agree0 Disagree0

I am and probably will be one of the alan smith fan club. thought he was brill when played for leeds. Not so sure i wanted him to come back though as may not have been as good this time round. as for Bullard hes over paid over rated and thank fxxk he aint over here. Play for Leeds god i hope he never does

Agree0 Disagree0

The five year time limit was explained on the 606 pages. it is within the annual accounts, on a reducing scale and is next to nothing now.

Agree0 Disagree0

5million is nothing compared to prize money for going up plus tv rights and even if we got relegated the parachute payments aswell. The amount of cash to be made totally swamps 5 million so how can this be true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Any rumours about delibertaely not getting promoted to avoid having to pay anything back are clearly utter and absolute nonsense. get over it.

Simon Grayson is set to follow suit in his transfer dealings by offering lifelong Leeds United fan Martyn Waghorn a chance at Leeds. The Leicester City and England U21 international Striker has fell out of favour at Leicester and Sven Goran Erikson has told him he is free to leave the club.

Believable11 Unbelievable9

Sven's new transfer policy - one out, five in..?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sven turned down an offer for him at start of season, but he still wants to bring in a striker to add to the millions he has wasted so far, Martyn Waghorn said he wants to leave and Sven accepted and said he is free to leave. Sven said he needs first team football. He would have a better chance at Leeds but theres a few interested in him. He got good potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

"lifelong Leeds United fan" that's weird, he's always been a Sunderland fan, hence him growing up there, going to their academy and attending their games...

Agree0 Disagree0

In the posters defence, football manager claims he is a leeds fan lol

Agree0 Disagree0

With reference to Waghorn being or not being a Leeds Fan. All of you on this site should know that there are only 2 sorts of football supporter in the World.

LEEDS FANS AND THOSE WHO WISH THEY WERE

Love the last response totally agree with the 2 types of supporters gag keep it up lads ha ha

Chelsea fc youngster Ryan betrand , who is a left back will Sign for Leeds utd next week .

Believable10 Unbelievable17

~There's no way Chelski will EVER loan Leeds a player after the way Bates has spoken and acted since leaving them. Good shout apart from that because he's a good young player.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not, we have our own talented youngster doing a good job there in Aidy White, with Ben parker as developing support.

Agree0 Disagree0

Total false rumour, made up and completely without any foundation, SAD.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben Parker has lost his speed due to injury and therefore is finished in my book. Bertrand would be awesome but cant see it happening

Agree0 Disagree0

In response to the first post chelsea have had dealings with leeds since bates to the helm.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aidy is doing a good job bk there, long way off from being a finished article but massive potential. I think LB situation is resolved

Agree0 Disagree0

"In response to the first post chelsea have had dealings with leeds since bates to the helm."

Yeah when they nicked out youngsters

What other dealings have we had then?
