I have read that he has his fingers in multiple pies including quatar's development in football before the world cup meaning that he may not be offing a lot to us in the time being but who knows, the guy must be a very useful person to have around given his experience at Madrid
apparently his appointment is coinciding with a Chinese member of the board stepping down, if that means anything to anybody

he seems to be more involved in the commercial side of the business so i imagine it will be how we can monetise the brand and potentially maximise oversea revenue.

I too am of the opinion that monk will stay, and I do see the point which cork made about what does he bring on with 20 minutes to go, not convinced swapping a player is always the answer but there you go. We will have to see what is happening at Christmas, where we are, the players he signs and the tactics he is using. Then we could have the same discussion as we are having now.

I think the answer to the stay/go debate is purely in the hands of Monk. When other teams see the situation as one man, in one season, turning round a lumbering giant they will put it down to one man and come knocking on our door. Then it is down to Monk to decide if he wants to finish what he has started.
