Stories coming out of Dubai that Nigel Adkins who is 'currently on holiday there' has met with GHF representatives to discus taking over the reigns when Warnock goes in the summer.

Believable8 Unbelievable72

Well said .... if true - any links ? and
he is the man for the job - and i'd say warnock would support that also - point is ...shouldnt he come in sooner if results start to slip - i'd say yes he does - but supporting Warnock all the way until he's gone ... MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Adkins likely going to udders.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats bull if they was talking it wouldn't be about a summer it would be asap no manager would sit on there ares till june

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently Adkins is looking to take a little time out and the Leeds job in the summer would be ideal.

Agree1 Disagree0

Adkins will be going to Huddersfield, there chairman is very shewed he always gets rid of his current manager when a top class manager becomes available. He did it with Clark when he took Grayson.

Agree1 Disagree0

Source for Adkins story is a close friend (Leeds fan) currently working in Dubai and staying in same hotel as Adkins. He has been collected from the hotel in a Limo by the same 2 businessmen twice in 3 days, one of them wore a Leeds Tie with a Leeds pin in it. My friend says he is looking for a chance to speak to Adkins so standby...

Agree1 Disagree1

Doesn't just sound right somehow.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wunt of thought people would wear a badge to pick someone up for a meeting that would be kept quiet (because it would cause players to think why am I signing for a manager to be replaced by someone who will replaced in 5 months )

Agree0 Disagree0

It is no great secret that Warnock is retiring at the end of the season anyway. What players are signing? From what I see nobody is coming in. Maybe GFH are saving their cash for the next manager rather than give it to Warnock for the reason you give (why sign for a departing manager)

Agree1 Disagree0

Sounds good to me - why wind us up ? keep the news coming my friend - and as for the huddersfield job ? - don't be daft ! why oh why would that be attractive to a manger like Adkins ? He has been paid big £ compensation figure to leave saints - so he is on a big wage til summer - all makes sense - bring it on

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2013 05:22:48
I don't think he will be very interested in a club with no ambition and no money

Agree1 Disagree0

GFH also very friendly with Frank Rijkaard becos he was a coach with Saudi and they regularly met in Bahrain for drinks and socialising. Frank was a Leeds fan as a boy. Frank just ben fired a few weeks ago and waiting for the GFH friends to finalize offer

Agree0 Disagree0

As a Leeds fan living in Southampton I can tell you saints supporters are gutted at his sacking, he is held in very high regard and I believe he would do a fantastic job at Elland Road.

Warnock can go back to teaching his ballboys new teqniques, really feel mugged off at gfh who ever this fake life long Leeds united fan is, running more players away you should be adding to the team, lucky its a premier league team coming this weekend if you don't get players you ain't going to see crowds like that and that's what this great club needs . H.P.C 4 LIFE ls6 .

Agree0 Disagree0

Frank rijkaard?? oh my god I've just pissed myself!!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Returned last night from JBR in Dubai and can confirm Adkins has been in town.

Also bumped into Alan Shearer, but sadly no sign of him replacing Becchio. Shame, just the right vintage for Warnock.

Agree1 Disagree0

On paper he is going to be next manager of huddersfield...

Agree1 Disagree0

Limos turning up with men wearing Leeds pins and ties !! Your having a laugh mate. No one...I mean NO ONE is going to send a limo out to meet a guy and pick them up themselves. They will have sent a driver in the car to personally pick him up and take to the meeting destination. 'Load of bull'

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds ties & pins - Jeez mate, how do you know that, were you kissing the bloke !?!

Eyes like a sh*thouse rat !

Agree0 Disagree0

Not necessarily. if you've got a lot of meetings that day, you make the most of the time you can spare.
Poster claiming NO ONE is going to send a limo out to meet a guy and pickup themselves... is this something you learned in your extensive experience stacking the shelves at Lidl?
I can assure you, meetings can and do start in the car you're picked up in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Me again (post starter). Been online to my friend again today and I think all the disagreer's could change their mind soon. Apparently their has been quite a hive of activity involving Adkins and although he has not managed to speak to him he did overhear one of the guys he has been seen with saying he was very much looking forward to their meeting next week in England.
Only passing on what my friend has seen/heard. He has sent me a picture he took on his mobile of Adkins walking into the hotel with Mr Leeds tie (cant post pictures on here or I would put it on)

Craig Mckail- Smith will be joining Leeds Utd but not until Brighton get clearance for their Argentinian Signing Ulloa. This does not mean Becchio will be joining the south coast club, they need the funds from CMS to buy two defenders, one being a Dutch u21 player.

Believable9 Unbelievable35

Hope so would be quality he's better than becchio

Leeds had a bid for Albert Adomah rejected.

Believable12 Unbelievable44

Probably because it was for 30p, a mucky spuggy egg and a dirty toffee wrapper.
foxrat

Agree0 Disagree0

Palace have had a bid rejected not us a club with no dough

Agree0 Disagree0

Palace bid £500,000 and that was rejected too

Agree0 Disagree0

Adomah will leave for £2.5-4m. We won't be paying that

titus bramble to sign on loan until the end of the season

Believable11 Unbelievable75

Please no, worst player ever!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not. Worse centre half to ever grace the Prem league.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2013 21:37:08
only on a par with Anton Ferdinand for worst defender ever

Agree0 Disagree0

Back in sunderlands 1st team so no chance

Agree0 Disagree0

I ant seen him play recently last time I seen him he looked like rudduck

Agree0 Disagree0

Titus Bramble is too good for us. I was at the Sunderland v West Ham game earlier this month (I live in the North East and tickets were £10!) Shambles was any thing but a shambles. Best player on the park and won everything launched at him by West Ham.

When Titus wants to play he really is a top class defender

warnock has put in an enquiry for max gradel after telling saint etienne he wants to leave to join Leeds

T

Believable23 Unbelievable35

I blame Phil Hay for all these MG rumours, will be on at least 25k at psg. No way gfh will come even close to that. Using the lufc fans max gradel wish to fill space in the yep.
This aren't going to happen sadly.

Agree0 Disagree1

Who's at PSG? Certainly not max gradel

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoops I meant st ettiene...DOH

Agree0 Disagree0

Were a selling club,,, that's all I have to say,, gfh need to start putting money into the club now, and max gradel would be a great signing,, but we need at least 3/4 player,, like dindane a free contract and is 32 yrs old, we need young quailty,, mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Gradels reasons for leaving were 2 fold.
1/ He wanted European football and
2/ he missed his family.
Neither of these would be satisfied by returning to ER

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2013 23:27:23
bring back the max gradel he's like lightining but after wht looks like losing lucciano we need a great striker now aswell as big ross who would you havee......
mcckail-smith would be mine like

Agree0 Disagree0

Why on earth would Gradel want to come to such a joke of a club as the exodus of decent players continues?

simple.............he wouldn't

I breaks my heart but the simple fact of the matter is that we are a joke

Agree0 Disagree0

"I have a contract here until June 2015, I have settled well here and I'm enjoying my football, " Gradel told the press

Agree0 Disagree0

Boring...more ex-players can't we move on and buy someone who hasn't played for us before!

Agree0 Disagree0

The wage issue isn't all that big, he may be on more over in France, but you have to factor in the new 75% tax rate on high earners. We could offer half his wage and he would still pocket more.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2013 14:34:01
if gradel and the likes weren't a team to reach auto promotion (easily) from league one why do we want these players back!

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton to battle it out with Newcastle for Sam Byram.My mate who is a football agent to a few of the Newcastle players told me, gutted. {Ed013's Note - Going on your previous posts you have friends everywhere in football, agents, friends at Watford! Do you really think Leeds would sell Sam at this fragile time}

Believable11 Unbelievable65

Byrams not French.

Crmd

Agree1 Disagree0

No I don't believe post but ed, yes I do think Leeds would sell...shrew leeds {Ed013's Note - Maybe for silly money}

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton scout at every Leeds home game this season, sits in a central area of the west stand monitoring Byrams progress. David Moyes occasionally seen too.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Leeds sold byram now it would be a PR disaster for GFH, they will surly speed things up over the next few days after becchios bombshell today.

Agree0 Disagree1

Well spotted ED maybe now THIS TYPE OF RUMOUR WILL STOP !! We as Leeds fans suffer too much and reading such blatant bull is not helping us in our pursuit of the real rumours which have a tinge of truth in again well spotted Sherlock ED
wingy Mk
Leeds for life mot!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock's already made it clear that no players will be leaving unless he wants them to!

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle dnt have any players with the same agent so obviously made up lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Byram will go in the summer

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know Ed, they're willing to let go of our cult hero number 10...

Dindane will be replacement for Becchio and transfer fee will be undisclosed and never seen again.
think its time to get in a young manager and build for the future.
if you were a decent quality player would you sign in this window for a manager who is only here for a few more months, knowing that a new manager might not fancy you.
at least McAllister and Grayson teams played good attacking football, but defences were crap.
now defence is one of worst in country, but the football being played is the worst I can remember even when we had to play Ricketts up front.
thats why attendences are so poor, that and the premier league prices.
GFH give us something to cheer I beg you. {Ed013's Note - I have been told that he will not be signing for Leeds}

Believable18 Unbelievable29

I think they saw how much people on here really did not want dindane lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps Chris Hughton would like to make a move for another player from what has become a sort of feeder club for City, Leeds Utd's Luciano Becchio has handed in a transfer request which looks to have been reluctanly accepted., after talks over a new contract broke down.

A very skilful player and one many believe will grace the Premier League, he has played 221 matches in all competition for Leeds, scoring 86 times.

Surely he represnts a far better prospect than some of the names that been linked with City

Believable23 Unbelievable12

Goal poacher yes... Skilful NO !!

Agree1 Disagree0

You have never seen him play obviously. He is a great goal poacher but his first touch is very poor and his passing non existent.

Agree0 Disagree0

I will name some great strikers who first touch was poor and couldn't pass for toffee ian rush john aldrige gary lineker a strikers is meant to put the ball in back of net get the ball to him inside 6 yard box he will score more than miss

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2013 08:04:42
Ian Rush and Gary Lineaker could sprint ten yards in under 3 seconds. It would take Becchio 5 minutes !Good goalscorer at this level but not premier League standard.

Agree1 Disagree0

Skillful? Have you ever actually watched Leeds play? I'm a Becchio fan, but he is a true target CF. Does a lot of holding the ball up. He's not the quickest, and I wouldn't say that skill/trickery are his biggest assets. We'll miss him, but hopefully we actually sign someone with skills, and we can stop hoofing the ball forward and watching Becchio chase it, head it to nobody, or fall down (which he does a lot)

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting that all of the people moaning about losing Beccio earlier in the season, stating he was best striker we have are now slating him. He has made the top 10 all time goal scorers at Leeds - that should tell you everything you need to know. Warnock is to blame for him putting in a transfer request - would you play for him. Some people soon forget

luca toni set to submit to medical examinations at thorp arch tomorrow
pm

Believable5 Unbelievable42

Hell no! I will hang my head in shame if that is true! Replacing a 29 year old with a 35 year old, the lufc retirment home saga continues!
Sussex white mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Any idea where this rumour is coming from. We heard this all last year about signing Toni

Crmd

Agree0 Disagree0

Youll hang your head in shame? he's still a quality player even at 35!!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Rubbish, not happening he is 35 and useless now.
he has got a few this season but its a flash in the pan.
please warnock out now.

Agree0 Disagree0

WTF be great for a season or 2 even at that age. He was starting regular for Fiorentina until he got a sight injury. Scored 1 in 3, in the championship he would give us a better return than that. Some people don't know football.

MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

Not OP but the rumour came from Sky Italia, they reported it earlier today, I have seen this myself. TBH it would be a great deal if we could get two wingers aswel

Agree0 Disagree0

He's pretty awesome wouldn't be a bad signing he'd bag us 10+. ROBBO MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

With our luck we will end up signing Fat Toni

I thought Arouna Dindane was having a medical,

I thought Habib Habibiou had confirmed on twitter he was joining us,

I thought David Goodwillie was training with us?

Becchio out, in Habibou, George Boyd and Faurlin, well that's self financing progress, if as I'm starting to believe GFH are Bates still have not got much money to invest in our team, Warnock will have to prove his worth, great challenge MOT

Believable25 Unbelievable18

Sorry warnock will only get a fraction of the money he recieves from becchios sale so boyd and fourlain oout of thbe reckoning and habibou won't score the goals we need 45 in 7 seasons stats don't lie

Agree0 Disagree0

This happens with all of our best players

where are the wages coming from for that lot.
talking of wages, would you sign michael tongue and ryan hall or keep your top goal scorer ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point, 3rd reply, we must be able to afford some wages, Kisnorbo, out, Pugh out and Becchio's wage !And in answer to 2nd question wouldn't have signed Hall and Brown...

Agree0 Disagree0

Michael Tongue either...

Tate saying on radio sports show that he had to leave LUFC 'because of the money situation up there'. Depressing.

Believable34 Unbelievable11

True but his month long loan was coming to an end too

Agree1 Disagree0

Tate's comments sounds like sour grapes!! he's also commented on Becchio's transfer request

Agree2 Disagree0

How will he know the money situation.
Do you really think they will have said to him' well we want to keep you but we can't afford it'?
I don't think so. We didn't keep him because he proved to no better than what we have.

Agree1 Disagree0

That doesn't mean anything tho we maybe didn't want to pay his wages why waste the money on him we've got enough CD

Agree1 Disagree0

It must be true because Leeds have not refuted what he said. My message to the new owner is get the led out and invest. You won't get back your I takeover fee if the club stays in the championship. Go for it or you could be embarrassed on Saturday in front of the cameras if only a handful of supporters turn up. Show respect for this club and gain the affection of the fans by your actions.

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with second reply. Tate's comments make me wonder whether he wasn't part of the 'head-turning' Becchio has been subjected to. No wonder NW shipped him out sharpish! PK {Ed013's Note - I think Neil would have used the financial situation as an excuse not to sign him as lets be fair his last few games weren't very good at all}

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe the new owners no leeds won't get promotion this season and are saving there money for the summer

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2013 21:42:39
I think we now have the truth from somebody who wa on the inside. No money and not a chance of competing with likes of Leicester or Cardiff. GFH no different to the last regime and don't deserve to be custodians of a great club.

Agree1 Disagree1

Players are not on the inside!

They know nothing about the finances of the club. Why would they? Only the board and NW will have any idea what kind of 'money situation' is occurring at Leeds. Players are just members of staff, no different from the groundskeepers or stewards. They turn up, do their job, get paid, and go home. They know nothing!

Agree0 Disagree0

Same old story, no money spent and selling players.give youth a chance, can't be any worse can it.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 3rd poster, I think is more like they will say "we can't keep you as we don't have the money" rather than, "I'm sorry although you are a premier league player, getting paid twices as much you are no better than what we have."

Agree0 Disagree0

I reall ythink Tate would have been a watse of money anyway. He had a good short term impact but is no better than Pearce or Lees or even Peltier at CB.

Would have been like Andy O'Brien a few years ago. Good loan spell, terrible signing

Agree0 Disagree0

You all have to remember that GFH have invested over £50M for this club. As bankers, they know that they need a return on their investment and the biggest return will be getting Leeds into the premier league. If they invested £50M then i'm sure they have a plan to invest more to gain higher returns.

I actually agree with Ed Tate was crap in his last three games and is no better than what we have got so sour grapes on something he has no clue about.

I think that investment will come but they will not pay over inflated wages and fees for average Championship players.

lufc comfirm luciano becchio has handed in transfer request after 2 seprate bids from foreign clubs .my thaughts are sad to see him go if its true . he's been a very good servent of our club but if he wants to go let him go . Keep fighting . Mot.

Believable27 Unbelievable3

Lets hope he goes for less than £4m otherwise he won't cost less than berbatov!

Nice one last post.

I'm not bothered if he goes if we get a decent fee for him. 19 goals is deceiving, over half were penalties and his ball control is atrocious. JD

If bechio goes this transfer window then expect beck ford to be back wearing a Leeds shirt Leicester will cancel the loan agreement with Huddersfield
1 as they will receive a fee for him
2 sg is no longer manager
3 new manager will want a different striker and with beck fords wages off the wage bill may get more than 1 player

Believable9 Unbelievable26

I wouldn't want Beckford. He has done nothing in this league

Agree1 Disagree0

Not this seaon, he can only play for 2 clubs in a season..

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry as they had agreed a deal for remainder of the season leicster couldn't cancell the deal only udders couold and beckford would be a flop in hoofball system

Agree0 Disagree0

Leicester are flying without him and hudds are struggling with him . we don't want him .

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets get it straight once and foir all Beckford is on between 35 and 40k per week we can, t afford to pay 50% of that so he will not be coming to Leeds

I guess Beckford is the new Alan Smith....We don't want him back and I doubt he would come back...Move on!

Leeds will sign Habibou, to replace Becchio, and end up with 2million profit on deal, this will be divided between GFC shareholders.Cushty, Ken will get 20 percent commision for brokering deal, everybody wins..dont they ?

Believable20 Unbelievable16

You taking the pee out of us habibou to replace becchio a guy who has scored 45 goals in 7 seasons

Agree0 Disagree0

OP makes no sense. Becchio will have been considerd one of the assets they paid for when they bought the club, which is then worth less once he leaves. The 'profit' from the sale would, at best, cover the value of the lost asset, leaving their investment back at square one

Agree0 Disagree0

An asset is something that can be cashed in at anytime, the investor chooses, GFH do not only have an interest in Leeds United, they have a portfolio, so money can be used for any off there other maybe floundering business's to bring them up to scratch or bail out !

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio is leaving after handing in a transfer request, i'm worried whoever we bring in is not on form or lack of goals or worse as he is our only goalscorer

Believable19 Unbelievable3

Norwich fan here, Guess what I'm going to tell you, Yes Becchio is wanted here

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich and Wigan the 2foreign teams
Interested

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you ever heard of Ross McCormack?

Agree0 Disagree0

We have McCormack, Anyway as with Beckford, to much of the play revolves around getting the ball up to Becchio as quick as possible to the detriment of the team game. And why should we stand in his way he has been our most loyal servant in the recent era. Becs if you leave all the best Elland road will never forget u!

NickLS26
MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio to be honest is useless with the ball. He can't run or and create anything. I've been saying this hole time this run of scoring is going to run out. Ross McCormack is proper class compared to him.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you think a player who has scored 18 goals this season is useless then you are an person. Wait and see who Warnock brings in to replace him, then you will be sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

After all the loyality and admirationwe show him he wants to go due to finances? If I was boss as he is here till 2014 I would make him face the music in front of a rammed elland road and tell us himself. Yet again best players leave and we get rubbish in lol didane is a shocking forward. Get warnock out enough is enough only good thing he has done is diouf. Toofang

Agree0 Disagree0

We have every right to be worried, to all our fans who think someone who scores 18 goals , is 4th highest scorer for our average team this season, is not that good.Who do you think we are going to replace him with, for less money then we sell him for, on less wages?Get scouting !

Agree0 Disagree0

I said he's useless with the ball like holding it upturning and passing. He throws himself about and gets in good positions is what got him his 18 goals

Agree0 Disagree0

Once a again the manager dictates the hoofball game not becchio

Agree0 Disagree0

He might be crap at turning on the ball but he has still scored 18 goals and to be honest that's pretty good going in a team as crap as ours this year! To be honest someone will step up to the mark once he's gone, look what happened when Beckford left we worried where the goals would come from up stepped Becchio to take over the mantle. Lets hope we can get McCormack and Somma to step up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio can only play within the system the manager dictates and with the players around him. It is not his fault if he gets up to win balls hoofed up the pitch only to find that the closest player in a Leeds shirt is 10 yards away scratching his backside. In a team with players that give him support he will go from strength to strength

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2013 16:17:41
Becchio going and if that money is reinvested wisely it could be for the best, Gradel back home ladbrokes have cut the odds over last day and hopefully wells would sign as replacement, habibou a possibility but dunno what he's like tbh hope we start looking for young lower league players sum serious talent down there like wells pope clayton darikwa who wouldn't cost that much also better than signing old dross

Believable20 Unbelievable9

When in the last 5 years has the money from player sales been reinvested wisely, lets see if new owners are more interested in off field investment, ie hotels, casino's, then building a decent football team.Remember there model is not based on promotion, nor was Kens !

Agree0 Disagree0

I am expecting dross and loanies

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds have never invested wisely in replacement for players sold look at facts gradel gets sold we sign pugh
howson goes we get delph on a months loan which was dissapointing
snodgrass goes we get luke varney less said the better
becchio out habibou in 45 goals 7 season stats don't lie

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea stats don't lie he's scores 6 goals in 13 games not to bad also he may of set other people up to score don't judge yet

Agree0 Disagree0

Watching habibou on youtube albeit from a hopeful aspect he looks like a good find he links up well with lay offs and one twos got a bit of footwork that could panic a defense and at least a yard quicker than beccs(wish him the best tbf) and would suit mcormack 6 in 13 for a player that will bring ross into the game raather than out wide sign him up hed love to come to england aswell only a stone throw from belgium

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2013 15:52:14
Well on offical site bechio haned in a formal request to leave . Well I say let him go over rated, over paid and there are far better players out there, we played far better without him in the birminham game already the highest earner but wants more? so much for playing for the shirt . Get rid asap

Believable24 Unbelievable15

Well that's a bit harsh isn't it, just because he is leaving doesn't mean you have to go overboard. It will be sad to see Becchio go, he is a good player and will forever go down in the Leeds United history books.

I honestly think, that if Becchio goes then I wish him all the best. I think if he moves to the right club he can and will be a good player, but he needs the service. He needs to be around a team that can cross a 35 yard ball directly onto his head, and he ain't going to get that at Leeds.

Hopefully if he does go, the hoofball tactics may be going as well. Might I suggest we sign a player under 5 foot for striker, just so we can't play hoofball. Anway all the best Becchio.

Agree1 Disagree2

24 Jan 2013 16:08:07
Well said mate ! before all the doom and gloom merchant's get on here moaning about letting our best players leave and nothing has changed !! what's changed is that Becchio has had his head turned by his agent.. at the end of the day let's face it greed and self preservation is the only thing that most footballers are out for these day's. We will support our club through thick and thin players come and go, alway's have and alway's will FACT !

AA

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm with the second poster on this. I don't blame the guy for wanting to have a crack at a higher level of football and earn a better wage - I'd do the same in his boots if I doubted that either of these were going to happen at Leeds. We won't get promoted before he's 30 and he won't be on anyone's radar after that. Fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol it's the same old story this has been engineered by the club, they have been putting becchio innthe shop window for weeks now, his postion at the club has been getting harder and harder, warnock harvey jones and bates should leave not our best players, watch he will be replaced with a cheaper option, we are a joke now

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that we could get a good replacement, but I won't slate him for his service for our club. We are all running out of pacience as fans with the current situation what's to say the players are not aswell, we could get a good sum for him so let's look forward to who we can get rather than slate a good player who at 29 can be replaced by a good young striker for the future of lufc sussex white mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone saying we play better with out him he has scored 16 goals more then our second top goal scorer.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio has been OK, he can't hold the ball up and has no pace, as long as we replace then no issues with him going, Like Beckford he will be found out in 10mins in the premiership and will be bench warming at whichever club signs him. No great loss.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stupid post.pathetic.
just because he wants to go..look we can't afford to keep him, you won't say good riddance when you see who will replace him...dreamer of a fan...shrew leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi, good luck and thank you to Luciano. Any player is only one bad tackle away from never playing again, and, here is a newsflash, they are flesh and blood, just like the rest of us. Show me someone who says they would not take the opportunity to do better for his or her family and I will show you a liar, (or an person).
When the Mighty Whites were spending like there was no tomorrow, (and there nearly was), not too many said it was wrong, now the club is living within its means, that is also wrong. What do people want?
I save my pennies and go to ER as many times as I can afford.
I may be in a majority of one, but if the club were in the Conference I would still support them.
Fear not for the future, there are other Beckfords/Johnsons/Howsons/Snodgrass's/Becchios/Delphs out there, we have not found them yet.

Cut me and I bleed white.

Agree0 Disagree0

I say bring back BARN DOOR BILLY !

Agree0 Disagree0

I say good luck to him he deserves a move to better himself
who would want to play for a club who has not a pot to p*** in, this move from the club stinks to high heaven, warnock's had his orders to sell before you buy end off
GHF putting gloss over it trying to put all the blame on beccs for being greedy
WARNOCK OUT YOU BACKSTABBER

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate my life... Lost my job, my car, my wife and know this is their any point in living ??? What do you think ed ? {Ed013's Note - Seek professional help mate, we need all the fans we can at the minute}

Agree0 Disagree0

Give Poleon a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't blame him for leaving. He is 29 and it is his last chance to secure his future. There is probably some truth that he has been pushed out too. If we got three million for him and replaced him him 3 x £1m players it would not be all bad, but in reality he will be replaced with a free transfer or an old has been. The transfer window has been open 3 weeks and we have secured nobody to get excited about. You have to ask why we aren't securing our targets.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be bitter. He has done the job for us for years. He has a small window of opportunity to get to play in the Premier League. He should take it and go with our best wishes. So long as he doesn't play well against us when we meet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who says there is any truth in club saying Becchio handed in request to leave. I am of opinion this is GFH being advised by Bates drastaB. Same old same old.

Agree0 Disagree0

Classic fickle fan.... he deserves a stable career and we (gfh) can't give him that easily forgetting the 18 he's got us and 90 mins week in week out of being the hardest working player, I say your not fit to wear the shirt

Wells and cms to sign next week .

Believable22 Unbelievable25

If we can get both in for less than the becchio fee it is good business. cms younger slightly than becchio and wells would be a risk but not too expensive at that

Would love to see it happen but can't see wells coming due to cup final

Heard a rumour that Johnathan Obika coming to Leeds from Spurs after the weekends game. Spurs wouldn't have allowed him to play in the cup game so no point loaning him before then it's a waste of a week on loan. Big powerful striker who while he hasn't set the world alight in the goal scoring stakes is a very good provider of goals which balances out.

However I did hear this before the news of Becchio's transfer request so Leeds may now move on for different players now if they have the money from Becchios sale.

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Heard we were getting a premiership reserve striker on loan next week, this could have been the man. As you say though if Becchio goes then we can afford a better option

Agree0 Disagree0

Johnathan Obika was so bad at Palace they cancelled his loan

Agree0 Disagree0

He can't even cut it at League 1 level he scores like paynter. This is a nice "story" but defo not gona happen

I've always rated Simon Grayson and was quite disappointed to see him leave Leeds. Always loved his passion for the club.

NW feels his best CB pairing is Lees & Peltier... Stephen Warnock will be brought in from Villa at LB until season's end.
Gradel could be our marquee signing for January, with a new striker (possibly Habibou) to follow!
RyanMOT

Believable21 Unbelievable9

I think that this isn't the best central pairing because peltier is a full back and not a centre half but tom lees is awesome and pearce is a good centre back as but I agree with gradel because he is a legend and habib habibou is awesome

Agree1 Disagree0

Gotta agree with the last post Lees and Pearce are our strongest CB pairing I think we have looked weak whenever Peltier plays!

Becchio handed in transfer request, would rather him stay & Neill go but shows no loyalty in modern day football! The club is bigger than one player! LUFC MOT

Believable20 Unbelievable3

Just saw on tv

Agree0 Disagree0

He is one of the most loyal plaayers at leeda for years. A legend in my eyes. End of ....... Dannylufc

Agree1 Disagree1

He has been pushed!!! it's not about the money, if its was he could have gone to swansea two years ago, warnock is full of it, peter lorimer told grayson to sell him...

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him go thinks he is bigger than leeds don't make me laugh. And before everyone starts can't pay top wages on 18000 att I wouldnt

Agree1 Disagree0

Let him go, he spends most of the game on the floor after yet another missed header! We can get a better player with more pace with his transfer money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha look at these comments from people, its disgracefull, such a great and loyal for this club has asked to leave and this is how people react.. maybe if he didn't hav a disrespectfull manager that is constantly having a go at him and saying his heads not in the game he wudent hav left

Agree0 Disagree0

Get rid of him and bring someone in that can actually play football

Agree0 Disagree0

Think this site should be restricted to folk who actually know what there talking about. how can you say that becchio isn't a good player. I think his goal tally talks for itself. in my eyes he has been our best striker for years. even when beckford was here

Agree1 Disagree0

Why can't we just accept that this is probably the right thing for both parties? We're unlikely to get promoted this season and we need to build for a proper crack at it next season; Becchio would be over 30 and probably past his best by the time we get promoted. He deserves his chance - he gets it, we get a decent fee in return to buy a couple of players (at least) who'll be part of a promotion team and should be good enough to play in the Premiership. Hopefully - I know, that's the key word - hopefully, the board are thinking exactly the same thing and won't accept peanuts for a player who's been a good servant to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with Danny LUFC legend I believe he has been pushed into the transfer request all the strikers with have been linked to can't lace Becchios boots none of them will come close in the goalscoring front and for all the fans that believe CMS is the answer look back to last season couldn't score in a brothal no wonder McCormack was annoyed when he was getting picked for Scotland ahead of him

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't believe anyone is slagging off Becchio. How many goals has he scored this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Very loyal player but I would snap your hand off for £4mill if that what is reportedly being offered can think of much better strikers for that valuation.

Agree0 Disagree0

You may be able to think of much better strikers for that valuation, but they won't come to Leeds

Billy Davies is to replace warnock in the summer. Dad is personal friend of wee billy. Also Becchio to go to Wigan in the summer if they go down and beckford to come back in to replace him {Ed013's Note - I thought he was off to manage Blackpool?}

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Sniff sniff sniff bullso ya dad a personal mate of billy ypou the same person who says poyet de canio and and de matteo going to be the new manager one thing leeds can't afford his waged beckfords that is and seing as beckfors has said at everton and leicster that he wished he had becchios head downs to poke home ime sure if he did he would want to link up with becchio again

Agree0 Disagree0

First of all, to the second poster. WHAT?
To the OP, I really really hope not, remember after the preston playoff 1 leg years ago they had a good lead over us and the little sh+t davies said that the job was already done, but we know what happened ! LOL

Believable30 Unbelievable26

Plz god I hope so.

Agree1 Disagree0

Please please let this be true so come on Mr Harvey give us something to smile about

Agree1 Disagree0

The same max gradel that got sent of in our last game of our promotion season putting it in jepordy the same max gradel that demanded a transfer on the last day of the transfer window that left us without time to find a replacement sorry out of our price range

Agree0 Disagree0

And the same max gradel that loves Leeds United football club

Agree0 Disagree0

The same Max Gradel that was the best player we've had in the last 8 years... I hope so but we'll see.

Agree0 Disagree0

The best player we've had in the last 8 years? He's good but not that good; I'd put Snodgrass and Delph above him in terms of being a more complete footballer. And does he really love LUFC? Hmmmm... like the third poster said, this is the same guy who left us at a crap time in the season when we couldn't get a replacement in before the window shut. Good player, nice guy too (I interviewed him once) but I actually think he sees himself as being a Premiership player and would be looking for a move to a Prem club rather than to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll cost at least £2million, as he's under contract for two years and doing well in France. And his wages are £20,000 a week or more. I'd love it to be true, and I agree with the poster who says he's the best player we've had since relegation, apart from Delph. Sadly there's no chance....

Agree1 Disagree0

The same max gradel that went to france for his younger siblings when he could of gone to one of are rivals and got payed a lot more than going to france

Agree0 Disagree0

Gradel was better than Snodgrass when they played together I would say... Delph was good, but Gradel influenced games at championship level and not just league one

Agree0 Disagree0

In the mirror becchio has handed in a written transfer rewuest. Let him go while we can get decent money for him, to fund a move for wells, bring in blackstock, habibou and gradel and were sorted, your loss luciano

Believable30 Unbelievable23

Load of bull would be on official site not in the mirror wells not coming to leeds blackstock won't score anywhere near the goals needed to get us promotion {Ed013's Note - I think he means he handed it in to himself whilst looking in the Mirror!}

Agree0 Disagree0

If becchio leaves its only our loss as he will move to a prem team and be a success whilst we sign rubbish like wells and blackstock.

Agree1 Disagree0

Blackstock signing new contract at forest

Agree1 Disagree0

What a crock of s...t why would becchio hand in a transfer request when he loves the place

Agree0 Disagree0

Same reason Howson left leeds more ambition and a bigger bank balance

Agree1 Disagree0

I actually had to google this wells fella thinking he was some 18 year old super kid then I found out he is 22 hardly 1 for the future would signing wells mean there would be no place for the likes of poleon and payne

Agree0 Disagree0

Bet your all eating your words now its on the official site. Lucciano "loves the place" Becchio has handed in a transfer request.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you'll find it is on OS now...

Agree0 Disagree0

Look on the official site its there in black and white. Another top player is about to bite the dust. What the hell is going on!

Agree0 Disagree0

It is on the official site?

Agree0 Disagree0

It actually is on the lufc site who have even issued a statement..he has formally handed in a tranfer request..over money from the sounds of it.

loyalty is far too rare these days..only a few months back he stated that he wanted to play with leeds in teh premiership.....money makes the world go round.

people criticised beckford....at least he saw us up before he departed.

your loss luciano lets see wher you end up?

Agree0 Disagree0

How could you blame him.Warnock said he wanted to bring players in at the start of transfer window and as yet has done nothing. No doubt waiting till last minute to bring in players no one else wants.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Jan 2013 15:28:39

Agree0 Disagree0

Like i said in the first post, told you all so. the ed wont put this on though, as even he rubbished it {ed013's note - i said weeks ago that neil wanted to sell becchio, i will however hold my hands up and apologise for my moment of banter as i didn't see him handing in a transfer request and waving goodbye to his loyalty bonus, the love of the fans and the chance to be in the top 50 of all leeds players}

Also stating jerome Thomas has not spoken to management at WBA and might be looking to get teams interested in his availability with 6 months left on his contract.

Thoughts?

Stewbo Lufc

Believable25 Unbelievable18

1st choice would be Gradel, but both would be good signings tho. Please Neil break the bank and bring back Gradel.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish but won't happen, would have to pay 2-3million,

If we can't buy Woods then wh can't buy Gradel,

I would love to see it happen though sorry to sound negative.

Agree0 Disagree0

David high tw££ted in Arabic, think it meant maximus in English!

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see Gradel coming in, I think these stories happen every season,

St-Ettiene have no reason to sell, so I assume the price would be over £2 million.

Plus 20,000 wages might need Gradel to take a pay-cut, so I honestly can't see it happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thomas is rubbish gradel is quality

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe we weren't willing to pay all that money for Woods. Just because he went to Leicester doesn't mean we can't or couldn't afford him! Maybe he was wanting 50K a week, who knows? There is a limit for any club for any player. If in Warnocks eyes he wasnt worth the money so be it!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2013 01:27:30
Warnock has asked Shaun Harvey to speak with Tottenham in regards to Gylfi Sigurdsson. This was done early January. The stumbling block has been the injury to sandro. Spurs won't let any midfielders leave now untill they have brought in a couple of bodies. They wanted to bring forward the agreed summer transfer of their new german midfielder Lewis Holtby from Schalke, although schalke are reluctant to release him early. As a result Leeds are left in limbo until Spurs do some buisness. Warnock publicly mentioned Sandro's injury about a week ago, and also let slip Tottenham were hopefully going to do some deals with midfielders going out, that until Sandro's injury. Sigurdsson is one of Warnock's targets. Its now in the hands of Daniel Levy and Shaun Harvey whether it happens. Watch this space!

Believable9 Unbelievable38

I also took NW's comments to mean he was after a midfielder from Spurs. If it is Sigurdsson, it would mean we are looking for quality players which is a good sign.

Agree1 Disagree0

Its not Sigurddson, don't be daft, plenty of Prem teams would take him so why would he drop a division to come to us, it's only 6 months ago he was one of the hottest prospects in England when at Swansea. He won't come to us, if it is a Spurs midfielder it will more likely be Jermaine Jenas who is back at Tottenham and available for Spurs to do what they want with him, and NW is a known admirer having tried to get him before. It could be David Bentley as well, I would say Jenas and Bentley are more far more likely than Sigurdsson

Agree0 Disagree0

Lots of bull leeds have let a midfielder go on loan today

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance on sigurddson. If Tottenham was looking to loan him out, they would look to loan him out abroad, or to a premiership side. Tottenham wouldn't gain anything really for allowing him to be loaned to the championship, as we couldn't even pay a fraction of his wages. He needs to be playing at the top level, and playing back in the championship would do nothing for his growth at the highest level.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a ridiculous rumour Sigurdsson is the player Liverpool were desperate to buy in the summer. He would not come to a mid table Championship club

Agree0 Disagree0
