Everybody saying no rush etc....we can get players in July/August after NW is back from Holiday.....
Smart idea apart from the new team need to practice together and get used to each other or we are doomed....2 weeks in training will do nothing!

Believable17 Unbelievable4

That was SG's problem too the team never had enough time to gel because they were brought in late and it served as a predictable excuse for every poor start to a seasont hat weve had. So it looks like its gonna be the same this season too

Agree0 Disagree0

It wont be the same . this season will be much worse

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously. If we sign wardy tonight do you think he'll be in for training with the squad tomorrow. Be f&cking serious.... All players are packed or packing to dick off on holiday after ten months of football. On you two weeks a year holiday do you go into the office to check if your getting a pay rise. Do you b****cks, you head off to get steamed for two weeks. It'll all happen last week June, first week July. I'm more worried about the euro and recession mate coz then we'll all be tatered.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i live in portsmouth and yet to hear this..

got of the phone to a mate that works for pompey and knows joel ward well through the academy media , and he says joel ward has agreed a contract with both leeds and town a week ago but has now came to final decision will be announced before weekend . leeds are his favoured club but town offered more money but leeds are trying to throw in paynter who will sign later summer to add for them . also joel has believed to have chosen leeds as he told henderson the gk that he will be moving north to join pearce who is like a brother to him , 400k is the fee and will be on 5k a week a 2k improvement on his pompey deal

Believable11 Unbelievable7

Mate, I hope he does sign for us. The suspense has been killing me

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I right in thinking that Ward is a devout Christian, promoting faith in the game? If so, he would seem to be one of the last players motivated by greed and so Ipswich's offer should be irrelevant.

Agree0 Disagree0

He means ipswitch offering the bonuses needed for ward which leeds are not offering to pompey

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 22:11:08
NW now saying he is not optimistic on signing anybody before he goes away on Holiday.....Here we go!!
I am sure he could cancel his Holiday and sort his club out instead if he wants to build a great team......
NW will be gone by July....

Believable15 Unbelievable9

Never heard so much rubbish in my whole life why dnt you get beind the team you plastic fan go support man city leeds united dnt want people like you

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the original post, if NW is planning on retiring at the end of next season why does he need a holiday now?

Its not like he was in management until the end of last season , he was on holiday for half of it after being sacked by QPR.

He should really be concentrating on staying at home and getting some deals over the line imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Transfer window doesn't open till 1st July hes not off on holiday for a full month

Agree0 Disagree0

Im second reply so to third reply, I realise the window is not open yet, however are we not still trying to get deals done right now?

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 21:56:47
Wigan are supposed to be keen on Ross McCormack....they can have him as far as I'm concerned, over-rated

Believable27 Unbelievable13

He was our best player this season .he was most consistent. snoddy was better at times but he was not so consistent and played in spells. if i was to keep just 1 player it would be mccormack 100%

Agree0 Disagree0

He struggled to get around most of the time....

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry, you just can't say that. Just because he is leaving you cannot claim that he is rubbish, as it is clear that he was brilliant last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not claiming that because he's leaving, last season will be the best season he'll ever have, guarantee he won't do a thing next season. We could do with the money and could do with players that inject a bit of life into our team

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack by far the best player last season and of all the players rumoured to be leaving he is the one that will be missed the most.

Agree0 Disagree0

If martinez goes to liverpool will the guy that takes over still want mccormack maybe he will go to liverpool can't be any worse than carroll surely

Agree0 Disagree0

If we sell mccormack for anything above the 'un-disclosed' fee we paid ( usually £500K) then at least we are in profit

we need a goal machine to get out of this league and Mccormack not that, he is talented, but we need goals and lots of them so 25+ strikers is what we need and we havent got one.

Papa Bouba Diop.
Bags of experience, huge, no nonsense midfielder.
Free to good home.
Come on NW
jt-lufc

Believable20 Unbelievable6

We would be lucky to sign Joey Barton for the first 12 games of next season! Never mind Papa Bouba Diop

Agree0 Disagree0

You missed a word our huge no-nonsense POOR midfielder

Agree0 Disagree0

What a happy pair you too are.
One of you is so negative you don't think we'll be able to sign anyone. The other is a dreamer who is expecting Owen Hargreaves, Michael Owen, Joe Cole etc etc.
Bouba Diop would strengthen ANY team in THIS division. Passed his best, granted but the experience he brings would be great for younger players and you can guarantee he's picked up a few tricks to wallpaper over the frailty's in his game due to age.

I was talken to Jordan rhodes today.he said he would love to join Leeds . And I asked him if he was at Leeds and he said he talked to warnock about a possible move . Hope it happens but his wage demands could be out of reach.

Believable18 Unbelievable30

I was in Madrid at the weekend and was talking to Ronaldo. He said he would love to join Leeds. And I asked him if he was at Leeds and he said he talked to NW about a possible move. Hope it happens but his wage demands could be out of reach.

You are deluded.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was also talking to Jordan in Rhodes today and she said she'd love to play for Leeds. Come on a bit more detail mate before we believe this one. Where when and how? and post your name!!?? Uncle Ken Monaco!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wages aren't the problem with this one, they value him at like 4/5 million...

Agree0 Disagree0

What a coincidence,i was in spain myself last week sunning it up,and was sunbathing in my 3* hotel and guess who was sat next to me,only lionel messi.told me,him to leeds was basically a done deal, but the wages might be a stubbling block.o well el hadj diouf it is then

Agree0 Disagree0

It was around 2.25pm in a restraint called bradley's in huddersfield I had a word with him too and he told me the same more less as what this guy said.

Agree0 Disagree0

Asif the hottest property in league football at the minute is gonna go around telling every tom dick and harry, what his next move is going to be,dont think so liar

Agree0 Disagree0

You were in a restraint? Probably for the best, it might stop you making things up! A gag would also be required just to be sure. Damn! Premiership teams were flirting with the idea of signing Rhodes, hell would freeze over before we got anywhere near him! And of course, the £4-5m valuation would also be a stumbling block! - JamesC

Agree0 Disagree0

Huddersfield turned down £6M in Jan from west ham, so fee will be more than that. West ham will come back in for him same fee but can offer premiership football, thats where he will be heading

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha your talking b****cks my friend must have had your beer googles on!

Agree0 Disagree0

Now that we're getting new owners were signing him cant wait lads .

NW getting fed up waiting for Joel Ward will turn is attention to recent hammers released player Julien Faubert who he can get in on a free.

Believable22 Unbelievable11

Faubert?
Definitely has the pace, very attack minded & is a decent player.
I'm sure we would get him....if we went in for him. Could certainly do worse.
Adding him & the horrible Diouff would certainly give us pace & strengthen the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are all fed up of waiting for Joel Ward, hands up who had heard of him before he was linked anyway. Is Joel Ward the "marquee" signing we all crave, I think not, if he goes elsewhere somebody of equal ability will be targeted, we need to relax a bit. {Ed013's Note - I think fans would be happy with Thomas Brolin signing as long as its anyone at all! Its like you say, he isn't the Marquee signing so if Ward chooses elsewhere then we move on. Plenty of other options and to be fair, better proven players}

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 19:25:19
Seen that QPR and West Ham are after Paul Robinson (GK)
If QPR get him, Paddy Kenny seems a likely buy!

Believable18 Unbelievable4

Kenny would be a class adition to our squad with his experience and relationship with neil warnock.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not Alex McCarthy should be our target

Agree0 Disagree0

Forget Kenny and McCarthy.. If Leeds want to be a force again and get back in the Premiership we should be fighting QPR and West Ham for Robinson. If we had someone running the club who would pay wages then Robbo would certainly choose Leeds over the other 2 clubs with him being a local lad and a LUFC legend.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 19:17:22
Keeper Brad Guzan released by Aston Villa. Good keeper, might be worth a try??

Believable18 Unbelievable4

I think he'd be a great signing- could battle for the No.1 Shirt!

Agree0 Disagree0

What is wrong with you people, we have little money an need at least 6 outfield players. A goalkeeper should be bottom of the shopping list ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 18:45:36
Sol Bamba rumours dried up... any news on his current situation at Leicester at all?

Believable10 Unbelievable6

I read yesterday he was going to a turkish team

Agree0 Disagree0

We should sign him. He's strong and tall for converting corners.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we cant afford Ward Samba will be a no no.

Agree0 Disagree0

optimistic offer for carlos cueller (ex villa) - 5 figure wages certainly

Believable10 Unbelievable13

23 May 2012 18:11:13
REMEMBER: Football transfer window opens 26th May. Also 18 april 2012 Mirror quoted NW who said; Under fire KB has given his blessing for NW to go on summer spending spree. Warnock
stated that KB is backing him financially so he can bring in players as quickly as possible. WARNOCK said, 'The chairman PROMISED me he wouldtry his hardest to get me the finance. In NW we trust. Lets hope KB delivers cus thats all we ask.

Believable23 Unbelievable7

Yeah, that 1 sentence sums it up 'try his hardest'...well if he tries as hard as he has done the last 6/7 yrs we might aswell forget it right now...the people who are sticking up for bates want to bare this in mind..the second he sells that club and walks away with his pockets fully loaded the first thing he will do is an interview with a paper and slag ALL Leeds fans off for a variety of reasons...THATS A FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't forget he promised Snoddy too that Leeds would match his ambitions last year and nothing materialised. He is now spinning the same old crap to Warnock to get him signed up for another season. Sounds like Grayson was better off getting the sack than working for a tight-fisted chairman like Bates

Agree0 Disagree0

Call me stupid but if window opens on 26th how come we have signed Pearce from Pompey then ? Apologies if I've missed something

Jyg

Agree0 Disagree0

'he would try his hardest to get me the finance' oooh I really tried Colin but I couldn't get any, very sorry, honest!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Football transfer window opens 26th May ...and Warnock goes on holiday

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Jyg, If the transfer window hasn't officailly opened how is it physically possible for Pearce to be stood on Elland Road pitch holding his LUFC shirt with his name and number on posing for media??

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 17:28:22
The new fair play rules are starting to kick in.

Its not only Leeds who can't afford to pay out, a lot of clubs are in the same situation.

The only problem in this particular deal Pompey desperately need the cash and aren't able to make a deal over a number of months/years.

Its typical of Warnock not to realise that Leeds will be able to sign other players on a usual format but throws his toys out of the pram anyway.

Idiot!

Believable5 Unbelievable17

I accept what you are saying but its sad that with all the players that have left for fees and end of contracts that we can't get together £400k which is pretty small sum in terms of football !!

Agree0 Disagree0

Who has said we cant scrape the money together. Leeds do not talk about money our potential transfer targets to the press or anyone else for that matter. Its just a load of made up stories to fill there papers. Its still early days the transfer window doesnt open for another few days yet, lets wait and see what happens over the next month or so before we start slagging bates off again

Agree0 Disagree0

This has NOTHING to do with fair play rules and everything to do with our inability to attract players (wages, way of working, common sense - lack of, etc.)

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 16:44:35
Julien Faubert would be a perfect fit for right-back if the Ward deal doesn't come off. Also, Faubert would be available on a free transfer

Believable22 Unbelievable7

Also abdoula faye he would do a job in defence

Agree0 Disagree0

Based on the fact that Faubert was part of the Icelandic revolution that all but bankrupted West Ham, I can't really see him ending one contract of £40k or more at the Boleyn Ground and either he - or his agent - thinking £8k a week at Elland Road was a good career move.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get in the real world we are talking about lufc and a player thats played for real madrid cough cough wages

Agree0 Disagree0

Faubert is poor, we want to get rid of poor players not recruit them.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 16:16:29
billy painter is wanted by portsmouth, could this be a swap deal for joel ward plus money?

Believable24 Unbelievable8

Last minute horse trading to salvage a deal where SH & KB failed to provide the short term finance and support to back up NW in bringing in Ward. Looks more likey that were gonna have to wait til we offload before we buy. That will simply allow our targets to be missed yet again. 'Snoddy so right' KB supporting the club and manager ?...... Having a laugh

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry - I think I'm wrong; Paynter appears still to be under contract, so would command a fee (though not a very large one, i imagine.)

Agree0 Disagree0

I think pompey would rather have 500k0paynter than reduced fee + paynter

Agree0 Disagree0

Portmouth are not allowed to sign anyone presently

Agree0 Disagree0

I would not swap a bag of crisps for Paynter if I was Portsmouth, he is a one season wonder.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 15:35:15
i think people need to carm down its only may and there is along way to go till the start of the season.
lets see what happens instead of all these rumours that we have no money we cant afford ward.
people carm down please its getting abit repetative.
what do you think ed? {Ed037's Note - Although it'd be absurd if we couldn't afford to splash out 400K on a really good young prospect who can play almost anywhere on the pitch, i think it's a load of b******s tbh. I think Snodgrass will sign along with McCormack or White (not both) once a couple of signing come in}

Believable22 Unbelievable12

Quite agree with last post. Stop all this negativity. We will support Leeds no matter what, well I will at least. Have fans become fish wives with nothing better to Dothan listen to idle gossip, stop reading women,s magazines u saddo's. Players will come n go. But Leeds utd will always be marching on, stop the doom n gloom.

Agree0 Disagree0

They will all be gone by beginning of June we will start the new season with a very week squad and get relegated . bates hasn't got a clue and needs to retire. there is going to be a mass drop in ticket sales if im right and there will be the biggest riot ever seen in Britain .thats my prediction for the 2012/13 season.

Agree0 Disagree0

To last poster - you are the type of person this site can do without

Agree0 Disagree0

I would absolutely love to be positive, but I honestly think there is very little to be happy about.

As for the 400k rumour being rubbish Ed - I got this from Phil Hay's article in the Yorkshire Evening Post, and he said he'd got this from three separate sources. This is the best source as to what's going on that anyone has so far.

I agree that last season was a turning point - fans won't tolerate lack of investment and the club moving backwards again. Lots of people I know say they're holding off from renewing season tickets until they see who we bring in.

I all honestly, I could see us going down next season unless we recruit players of at least the quality that we are letting go, but it really is doubtful that we'll do that since we won't pay the sort of transfer fees or wages that these players require - hence why Ross/Snods/White/Clayton are all leaving.

I know this is now place for politics but I would urge fans to boycott until Bates leaves.

Agree0 Disagree0

You're prediction for next season is terrible, we'll be fine. The negative people need to calm down a bit, just be patient and see who we bring in. Yes, we've only made one signing so far but he's exactly what we've needed for a few years now. More will follow and we've released/transfer listed the rubbish. Marching on Together! (I'm not saying MOT because it reminds me of Celebrity Juice!) - JamesC

Agree0 Disagree0

When Warnock walks or walks on water that is the time to panic until then he's building a squad and having a holiday end of story.

Doom and gloom- the sky is falling in the end of the world - perhaps some people remember the millennium bug?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bouycott! chelsea fans tried that with bates in the 80s and 90s he stayed till abramovich came in 2004 he wont go until he gets back the £5 he invested in the club back time mightnt be on his side but he didnt get where he is by rollin over hell only sell if its right all buisness people do it

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with third poster. Warnock will walk by Christmas and we will go down again

Agree0 Disagree0

23 may 2012 15:19:53
this joel ward scenario has just hit home how far we have fallen.

we are all hoping we will sign a young kid from a team that will now ply his trade in the third tier of english football.

we have become a middle of the road championship team with a half empty ground.

the sun is out, but i am depressed.

Believable17 Unbelievable14

When it is announced that Joel Ward, Paddy Kenny and others have signed you and all the doom and gloom merchants will still be depressed because Messi refused to sign a pay per play deal for Leeds. Take an antidepressant enjoy the sunshine and wait and see what magic Warnock weaves by the start of the season. Faith dear boy - have faith MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

We have only been in the championship for 2 seasons and to be honest only had a midtable team but i feel things will change for the better M.O.T

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you forgotten where we fell too i.e league 1, so we are at present a championship side so what, I dont like Bates but I think the foundations are being laid so we never go back that low again.

Agree0 Disagree0

The way we are carrying on I think if we stop in the championship we will have had a good season

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on, Joel Ward is not Ronaldo if he comes OK if not who cares.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 15:19:05
Neil Warnock has given Shaun Harvey till 3.00pm tomorrow to secure Ward's signature, otherwise he will resign. Source: friend working for LUFC lawyers overheard SH today talking with her boss on phone. {Ed013's Note - Ridicules, even if you offer Ward 200,000 a week, if he doesn't want to come you cant force him!}

Believable9 Unbelievable21

Ok why would harvey phone club lawyers over warock thretenig to resign dont make sence surely harvey would phone bates and did your friend break client lawyer priveliges ime sure leeds could no sue there lawyers

Agree0 Disagree0

I share NW vision and possible frustration. He's trying to work within financial framework and club needs to help him. Looks more like he is being forced to offload Mac and Snoddy to get finance to bring in players. Club dont appear to be helping NW. Gonna be a long summer and we will miss some targets again. Snoddy right to comment when its looking pretty obvious that KB is full of B/S and unwilling to stump up short term finance to complete early deals

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly ed, some ppl think transfer window is like a shopping window, u just go in and get wot u want, it's not that simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why oh why do people bother writing such dribble, come on

Agree0 Disagree0

5.15pm on Thursday, no Warnock resignation reported. You have a very vivid imagination my friend. You should help Joey Barton write his next book.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 15:12:05
if its right we are struggling for money to buy ward then its time to worry.ward is a wanted man, obviously half a decent player then..im more worried about warnock now.for me i think he could be the right man for the job but if his patience is tested with problms with a 400k fee then i think he may walk.none of us know the real truth but we have to get in at least 10 players.that would prob mean nw setting up 50 meetings in the hope of getting 10 done.that takes some serious mental strength to have to go through that.kb has to show some backing, take a punt.do you want us in the premier league seriously?.
i hope im wrong but i can see nw blowing up soon..shrew leeds

Believable14 Unbelievable7

23 May 2012 13:22:19
Nobody wants to come to Leeds anymore...Its the truth and it hurts....everybody knows what KB is like and thats that.....
The crap players we wanted to clearout will probably end up staying because we will need them...

Thats the reality......

Believable26 Unbelievable12

This is true nobody wants to stay because of bates and his yes mens broken promises

Agree0 Disagree0

Ever thought it maybe how the fans moan, not many like Bates but how many big offers has he had with cash who want to buy the club, forget what he wants, probably none, suppose you would like to be owned by a chicken farmer!! I have just been looking and every club in the championship have signed at least 5 players already! not !! 3 months left and you ahve no idea whats happening.and i think the YEP do it to wind us leeds fans up with all the cr@p they print they have no idea either. come july and still only 1 signing then you have a right to moan!! O.W

Agree0 Disagree0

Sad but very true, LUFC is becoming a place that no player wants to go......all due to one arrogant little man!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think our new players will come in when Snoddy,Clayton,Mc Cormack etc are sold out of that cash.

Agree0 Disagree0

Must agree wi the first post, it's looking very very grim at ER at the moment, players dont want to stay due to KB, players dont want to come due to KB and we will be stuck with the dead wood cos no one wants them..KB has yet to show his hand in any form of Ambition, which i can not see happening any time soon, more so now we have had to pay the creditors £600.000.....
MJB66

Agree0 Disagree0

Isnt the idea to add quality to our best players.?

Agree0 Disagree0

The truth is out. We have no money everyone decent wants to leave. How are we to build a squad from that position? Staying up now seems to be our target

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 12:55:53
Julien Faubert has just been released from west ham, would be a good addition can play RB or RM

Believable15 Unbelievable9

He was released for a reason and is too old anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was released cause he wont cut it in the premier league. not the championship.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just the right signing for bates old and cheap

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 12:55:04
It all the same we trying to sign players
NW if you were given the tools for job you would get us up
KB will not so tell him stick were the sun doae not shine and us leeds fan will back you
then bate will not last long after as
show is true colours

Believable12 Unbelievable5

23 May 2012 12:51:19
According to the YEP website Leeds do not have the cash to buy Ward from Pompey.

It quotes "but the YEP understands that United have as yet been unable to raise the money needed to pay an up-front fee of around £400,000"

Unable to raise £400K? What a joke!

Believable19 Unbelievable9

Yes we are a joke club whilst that tight git is in charge. How does he expect promotion? He spun a yarn of lies to obtain Warnocks services just like promising Snoddy things that never materialised. Source from Snoddy himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is the case, why did Warnock agree to take LEEDS over if Bates has spent all the cash
Get out now Mr Bates

Agree0 Disagree0

The yep print a load of rubbish to wind us all up, so we keep buying/looking!!! o.w

Agree0 Disagree0

Guess who didn't realise he was blowing all his budget for next season on Jason Pearce?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, they are just making the same presumption that anyone with a brain cell could have come up with. Stuff YEP, MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Its pathetic, i swear if we lose out to ward just because of this.... What chance do we have next season! But, MOT

Local press again reporting that we're struggling to find the £400k to secure the Joel Ward deal

IF this is true (how can it be?) then it really is time for Bates to go.

I have always been prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. I have kept buying my Season Ticket every year, unlike many friends who gave up as soon as we were relegated from the Premiership. But I suspect this could be my last season.

I'm not paying top dollar to watch League One football again. Believe me, that's where we are heading if we haven't even got £400k.

I feel sorry for Warnock. I feel even sorrier for Pearce. They've been told massive lies.

Believable19 Unbelievable9

I agree after 11 seasons this will probably be my last i can watch wigan in the prem for £200

Agree0 Disagree0

May i suggest that it is more a case of bates hoping to pay out at the last possible moment to save wages as opposed to not having the money to pay. Watch this space

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2012 12:47:31
I'm not claiming to have any credible source for a rumour but anyone who has looked at the BBC web-site recently will see that Emile Heskey has been released. What odds on him joining El Hadji Diouf at Uncle Ken's Big Top next season?

Believable6 Unbelievable21

If that was the case I would not set foot at ER again.

heard the recent rumours?

Ward will not be signing for Leeds! He's going to Ipswich Town.

We have also lost the race for Clint Hill as he will sign the new contract with QPR.

Warnock is also annoyed with KB as he was promised support to get the players he wants in. KB IS NOT giving the money up for players now as he doesn't like paying their wages until after pre season gets underway.

Source: Shaun Harvey in Bibi's restaurant last night. He was next to me and my family. I asked him in the gent's toilets. I also asked him to resign too as I think he's crap at his job!!

Believable13 Unbelievable20

How can we have "lost the race for Clint Hill" ? If he's signing a new contract with his current club there was no race to begin with. More speculation dressed up as fact (in other words a load of b******).

Agree0 Disagree0

U asked him to the toilet? No wonder ur comin out with this s##t

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes of course he takes random strangers into his confidence while emptying his bladder in the gents

Agree0 Disagree0

I find it hard to believe Shaun Harvey would be divulging details of disquiet between the manager and chairman to some random stranger in a public lav!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hate rumours like this, why would Shaun Harvey tell you anything?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would Shaun Harvey tell you all this information if you told him he was rubbish at his job? More rumours and we all know if bates was lying about funds,
A. Warnock would tell everyone
B. Warnock would have walked as soon as he found out

Looks like Paynter to pompey & Ward to Leeds in some kind of swap deal? If this is true it would explain the delay in Wards signature and would be a great bit of business

Believable14 Unbelievable13

Nothing to do with paynter why deal not sorted for ward yet

Agree0 Disagree0

PAYNTER suits Div 1 and I personally think he will do well for Pompey. Just hasnt managed to step up with time with us.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont think paynter would be part of that deal and if it isnt it would be great if we could swap paynter and maybe 200000 for halford! Pompey have said they probably wont be able to afford him but if we offer a swap deal that would be great, save us some money

Agree0 Disagree0

I would buy ward and swap halford for paynter good business for two clubs with not alot to spend. Mot

cant understand why noone has come forward in a bid to buy leeds. smaller clubs like southampton and reading have been bought out. havent even heard of any rumoured interest. surely we are now an attractive proposition to business minded individuals. this is a plea to richard branson to please buy our club. you would get brand loyality for life from all leeds fans so would surely pay for itself in the long run? yeah no chance i know!| mot

Believable11 Unbelievable7

Priced out of it. would you buy Leeds for 20 million, or a club about to go into administration for peanuts?

Agree0 Disagree0

Had to think who noone was, then I woke up, you meant no one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because bates has let it known he don't want to sell and would take over the odds to change his mind

Agree0 Disagree0

Its because theres nothing to buy. We dont own a ground, or a training ground and the only players of any value have either been sold or will be sold in the near future. Leeds united is merely a francise with no assets. Mr Bates has carefully seperated anything of any worth from the club, so that he can continue to make money from us when he does sell. The ground improvements he is spending our money on will mean that any new owner will have to pay the mysterious off shore teak company (aka Ken Bates) a higher price to buy it back, or else pay increased rents to play there. Despite having enough funds to develop the east and west stand, Bates still wanted a loan from Leeds city council to buy back Thorp Arch, so that if he sells the club the debt would go to the buyer, rather than costing him anything in the shorter term. From a business perspective Leeds is a bad investment, unless you have enough money to negotiate the web secrecy that Bates opertates behind and actually buy the ground and training ground as well. The lack of transparency means that anyone wanting to buy will be put off very quickly. Lets face it there are hundreds of football clubs that a billionare could buy and raise to the premier league, and unless that Billionare is an unfortunate Leeds fan, they're not going to view Leeds United as worth investing in.

Agree0 Disagree0

People may have come forward to buy us but Bates has said he wont sell, he wants investors not buyers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Id love it if he bought the club! Mind ya id love anyone buying the club to get Santa out

Agree0 Disagree0

I think people dont want to deal with a person like Bates. so two faced and sly with the things he does and how he does them

Agree0 Disagree0

Because:

a) The club is categorically not for sale - Ken has told prospective buyers this;

b) The club has no assets i,e, no training ground and no stadium

c) It has a declining fanbase, as Ken cranks up the prices and reduces the quality of the football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because bates wants 100 mil for leeds united and we are not worth anywhere near that at the moment .

Agree0 Disagree0

Given the size of club that we are, with our history and the fact we now have balanced books, I would be amazed if no one had come in for us. The problem is Ken Bates will absolutely only sell us for a Premier League. Which unfortunately we are most definately not. Would you do business with KB?

Agree0 Disagree0

Then with our track record in defence the joke would surly come true, we cant have virgin on our shirts!

Agree0 Disagree0

I completely agree with you son! Leeds is one of the most historic football clubs in the country, why all these billionnaires are buying up these other smaller clubs is beyond me! Surely it would make sense to buy leeds when they are in a lower league? That said, I don't want us to become the next man city and buy titles, let's earn it! MOT

Fuzzy

Agree0 Disagree0

Richard Branson ??!! He rebrands everything he buys. We'll end up playing in red shirts as Leeds Virgin FC.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunatly a good history doesnt make a club worth 100 million, assets and owning things of value do

Agree0 Disagree0

I was thinking the same thing, why do big investors want to buy smaller clubs in huge debt when they could buy out a debt free big club; its a huge opportunity nobody is taking.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody will be buying LUFC because Ken wont sell, do you think its an accident that the club dont own the ground or training facility? It would only appeal to a billionaire because they would have to buy the club for whatever ridiculous price Ken wants, TA back off the council & then ER back off Teak Holdings AKA Kens dodgy offshore company, not to mention Ken wanting a place on the board (which he tried with chelsea and abramovich paid him extra to do one). All this would be, ball-park £100M for a championship team with league 1 players

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken won't sell and no one trusts him in dealings anyway. He is bleeding the club dry no investment and payments to the offshore companies (owned by guess who) by various routes. He doesn't like Leeds or its fans they are just a means to a regular large pay cheque and he doesn't care about its future as LUFC cost one pound!

Just been on Radio about Paynter possibly going to Portsmouth...

Does he need a lift ?

Believable22 Unbelievable4

Ok seing as portsmouth can sign players invoving a fee and
paynter being on the transfer fee unless its a player swap i cant see that happening

Agree0 Disagree0

This could be key in Joel Ward joining us. Billy plus less cash to pay for Ward would suit Bates for sure!

Agree0 Disagree0

I do have other things to do today but if you need someone to meet you half way then let me know. MOT

I dont have a car, and i got no change for the bus, but i could give a Piggy back down the m1.

Announced 1 hour ago that the Joel Ward saga is down to a 2 horse race between Ipswich and an unamed club.
Source Ipswich local paper.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Well if he moves to ipswitch it will be so he can still live with mummy and daddy (he still lives at home)

Agree0 Disagree0

The other club is Palace. For family reasons He wants to stay in the South.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if it's in the local Ipswich paper....it MUST be true, as no local newspaper has ever fabricated a story has it

Agree0 Disagree0

Ipswich and Blackpool not us I'm sorry to say

Leeds are looking to sign former England star Owen Hargreaves on a pay as you play deal.

Believable13 Unbelievable27

Was waiting for this to show up. He is too injury prone and his wages will be too high. In short - they aren't.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if he manages to play, how much do you honestly think Bates will pay him per game. Is this the best we can do on this rumours forum. 3am and the kiddies are still up.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to know where you got this nonsense from!! The ink has only just dried on his P45.

Agree0 Disagree0

No he is not, he's actually considering retirement.
