from a poster on Yorkshire post at Warnocks Q&A night ;

I was at the dinner with Warnock at Elland Road last night where most of the information in this article comes from, he was very honest and forthright and answered all the questions from the floor without batting anything back. He's clearly not happy with the squad he's inherited, it's too big and distinctly average. Without naming any names, he's been disappointed with the attitude of certain players and he clearly feels that certain players in the squad won't run through walls and, using his words, have been cheating him and us. He has already identified four players he wants to bring in and said all of them will cost a fee, he thought he'd landed two yesterday but they didn't happen although at least one of them has already agreed to join in principle during the summer. He also said players will leave that will leave him open to criticism from the fans but that will enable him to bring his own players in but he made a point of saying that Snodgrass and Becchio were the type of players he wanted to build his team around, he also said that he's already told Ken what needs to be spent and if he felt at any time he wasn't getting the support he wanted from the club then he would walk. Interestingly he also said the budget he's working with is bigger than at any club he's ever managed. All in all I don't think there is any doubt he is desperate to succeed and I'm absolutely convinced from what he said last night he is 100% confident that the club will back him in what he wants and to that end I just think we've got to trust him and believe that he's 100% the best man for the job even if we end up not agreeing with some of his future decisions.

OK PLAYERS WHO ARE INCONSISTENT & CANT TAKE A ROLLOCKING - sulkers are :
sulked with Larry and now Neil

alls well when they do well but if they get shouted at they cant DONT LIKE IT
Ross, White, Connelly, Lonners

I'd only keep Clayton Snoddy Lucy and Lees, O Dea Robinson Brown for new squad bring in 5 new QUALITY players on fees and blood our best 5 youngsters

Believable23 Unbelievable7

I like what you are saying here. And I like Warnocks attitude. What i don't like is the way some of these players you mentioned will go even further into their sulky little hole when he makes these points public knowledge, as he has here. But I guess that'll become more evident on Saturday. It'll either be a strong performance and possibly a win or we'll lose heavily. Footballers have always been like big kids and are surrounded by sycophants. Wonder which way it'll go?

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem isnt the buget that we have got its the amount of players that are using it up.i can see us removing about 15 players from the squad in the summer which will free up a minimum of 45,000 pw wages .(based on each player receiving 3k pw)
On top of this we will have the transfers received from the sales we would be able to offer better contracts to our top players and other top quality players will be able to be signed .
there is also the younger players that will probably all go out on loan to get more experience like zac Thompson ,turners taylor etc
theres also players coming through like gimpel ,sanchez payne and poleon etc
we seem to have a good crop of young players at the moment and hope the loans will make them into great players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like somebody pointed out on a different post - i think the problem we have is offloading players as nobody wants some of the crop were getting rid off. ideally i would love to get rid of 10/15 players but do we think that all of the players we dont want are wanted elsewhere? if we release them there is a fee involved to be paid to the player.

i agree with what this post is saying and the responses too. i would love to see 5/6/7 new faces and then a lot of youth brought up to gain experience. with the right mixture of expereince and young players who are willing to play for the badge i dont think getting promoted is past it for us.

speaking of youngsters, wasnt Gimpel wanted by Arsenal a year or so ago? surely if so he's worth a look at in our first team....

Agree0 Disagree0

Way I see it is we are Leeds we are proud to be so and every single one of us if we had the ability would love to pull on our famous White shirt and embrace running out in front of 30000 on the sacred turf at eland road. So why should we or Mr Warnock or Mr Bates tolerate any player who we pay to represent us not feeling the same way or showing the same pride we do , we ARE LEEDS UNITED WE ARE PROUD AND WE EXPECT MORE!! COME ON LEEDS IN WARNOCK I TRUST.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you article. Well sumized and not overly opionionated.
Blooding in 5 new homegrown tallent is exactly what O'Leary did so effectively, and will work again. Gives the team ballance, much needed pace, and enthusiasm. Well written!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think everyone who keeps going on about being proud to be wearing the shirt 'we are leeds' etc etc is being a bit naive in todays climate. It aint about that, it's about people doing their job and a club / manager set up that encourages them to do their job week in week out to the best of their ability. I dont think loyalty really exists for the modern player. It's money that motivates. With our wages structure (and i'm happy we are in a decent financial position), it would be difficult to get high level consistency.

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't just throw any youngsters into the team though, they have to be talented. Do you think we'd have hit the same heights is the youngsters be brought in were Harpal Singh, Shane Cansdell-Sheriff, Stephen McPhail, Jamie McMaster and Jacob Burns?

IMO there's only Charlie Taylor and Zac Thompson coming through with any real talent which is why they're the only 2 to be involved in the first team this season

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to much to say about all this to write it all up.

In summary I will say that this is very interesting and promising news, exactly the kind of stuff I wanted to hear after tuesday night.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would just like to add that Mccormack is a quality player and i for one would like to think NW would keep him, our top scorer this season and no doubt would be a big asset next in this league !

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a very informative post you made here and also very re-assuring. I think NW's appointment will force Ken's hand when it comes to money and signings. The sooner Ken makes such a dynamic a public reality the better. People need to know we are a big club with big ambitions again and there's no better way of achieving that than making some quality big money signings. Get er done Ken because if you don't NW walks and so will the fans. Ken methinks you made a rod for your own back. That's good for Leeds fans. Roll on next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bring some of the kids in now,drop the so called star players,man city did it with tevez and ok hes back playing but didnt get wot he wanted.Get KB in to talk to him NW will sound like a pussy cats.Well done so far NW may it continue.

Agree0 Disagree0

By all accounts they are also training Leigh Bromby up so that he can be the sub keeper as well as back up for the defence.

Bizzare!

Agree0 Disagree0

I to think MCcormack is a quality,But I have a feeling he is one off the players who has taken his bat n ball home.He wants to play as a second striker not in the hole .he said this when larry was hear.He comes across as he wants the lime light ie putting transfer request in when dull came in for him when they were in prem. Not a Warnock player IMO.I think clayton would fly the nest in a flash if a prem club came in for him,Howsons sale will have not made him happy as they are big mates,just hope Jonny not in his ear about how good it is in prem,I would put money,and will when I can get a price,on P Kenny being Warnocks first buy

Agree0 Disagree0

"Bring some of the kids in now,drop the so called star players,man city did it with tevez and ok hes back playing but didnt get wot he wanted."

I don't really think you can make the same analogy between Leeds and Man City. Man City had the likes of Dzeko and Aguero to fill the gap, it would be lovely if LUFC had the same quality of players but unfortunately they don't. Not yet at least.

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO Mcormack is probably our best player at the moment and I must be at different games than other people because he always seems to be giving his all and hungry for the ball. You can see him getting frustrated by the players around him who perhaps can't think as quick but he is the one player that you don't want to leave. Clayton is another gem who is forming a decent partneship with Brown in midfield. Snodgrass has the ability to be a top premiership player-lets hope with Leeds! If we can keep these players next season and add some quality and experience to play alongside them no reason why we wont go up automatically.

Agree0 Disagree0

Having gone home and away for too many years to count and seen true quality players at ER, I am still amazed at the hero worship of players that when compared with players past are distinctly average, for example Snodgrass, a Scotland International true, but compare him with Eddie Gray or even Harry Kewell, and he fails to deliver on so many levels, I for one think Warnock has seen the limitations in some of our "cult heroes" and will happily cash in on interest for the likes of Snodgrass and bring in his own brand of player, in summary be prepared for one or two departures that will make the sale of Howson seem petty and that the Fans will not like

Leeds looking to sign Grella on loan! {Ed003's Note - Really?}

Believable8 Unbelievable31

Really but i could only think Vince Grella because Mike Grella is going to Buxton FC.Sanchez Payne already there.Will he be good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

No Man Utd are gona sign him to a 5 year deal

Agree0 Disagree0

This rumour and the 2 comments make no sense at all. They clarify nothing. {Ed001's Note - nothing to clarify, the loan window is shut, the only way Leeds would be able to sign anyone is if their squad was smaller than 14 players.}
