Following investment from red bull, the first signing to be made will be John Guidetti of Man C. Fee circa £2m with add-ons. BmcD has been stealthily tracking him for several months with a loan deal initially expected. Source: mate works in red bull uk PR dept. I asked about any more (defenders) but he didn't know.

Believable18 Unbelievable77

Please let it be the day when Leeds United comes into some money!

MOT

Agree4 Disagree1

Swansea are signing him by all accounts.
I love leeds as much as all of you, but why would he choose us?

Agree2 Disagree0

Would love to see this happen but unlikely.

Agree1 Disagree0

More Chane Brian Kidd becoming our new Striker!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would a pr man know owt about leeds transfers

Agree0 Disagree0

John Guidetti would be an awesome signing!

Agree1 Disagree1

2 mill LOL he's worth 5-7 mil

Agree1 Disagree0

£2m for a player who scored 20 goals in 23 games last season for Feyenoord, I don't think so

Agree0 Disagree0

Your mate is supposed to protect the company he works for that's what public relations do, he wouldn't of been told about any transfers to protect himself and the company's involved as he might decide to go to the press. your chatting garbage sir, MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

Seriously 'op' what goes through your mind while your writing this stuff?
i think you may have been drinking too much red bull with vodka

Leeds have made a bid for Kaspars Gorkss believed to be £450,000

Believable30 Unbelievable37

FFS, he's nearly 32. Do we want him at that age?

Byrams so called injury is a smoke screen whilst talks are on going for his future, nobody wants the only asset (£££) we have, injured. He will be sold but loaned back for one season, some of the money to be released for players but we still need to clear out the deadwood and free up a wage packet or two.

Believable62 Unbelievable43

That's a good 1!

Agree0 Disagree0

No. he's just injured.

Agree1 Disagree0

Makes sense and would be good business in my book get 5/6 mil for him get him back on loan and money for quality players I for one hope this is true

Agree1 Disagree2

You may be right, but the injury caused Byram to pull out of the international under-20s, so it was real enough then. I think the present inaction on transfers is more likely to have been caused by Byram actually being injured, which has meant that he couldn't be sold to raise money for incoming transfers. I suspect that was the plan all along, but it's gone pear-shaped.

Agree0 Disagree0

The rival fans who keep posting on oue site that they think it would be a good idea to sell bryam are Really beginning to do my head in. **** ***!

Agree1 Disagree0

Reply 5,
YOU need to **** *** because this is true and good business for us if this is the only option for a few quid, wake up and smell the rusks. You need to get real and stop dreaming about us having billions invested and all will be good. Look at who we are and what we have got right now, if we have assets then we use them for the good of the cause.

Agree1 Disagree0

Silly post about smokescreen cause if he was to be loaned back they would be playing him pre-season. the lad is injured

Agree1 Disagree0

Got injured in the England U20's. We can't pull him out of an International tournament, so Unless Peter Taylor is in on this smoke screen, then I call bull****

Agree0 Disagree0

Byram is training with the first team back from injury but will not play until his future is decided

Agree0 Disagree0

Why sell an excellent young player to bring in 3 or 4 at best average players? Do we actually need to buy any more. Part of the money raised will in no doubt have to be spent on a replacement so unless you are going to raise many millions (not a measly 5 or 6) then why bother

Agree0 Disagree0

Last post:::nobody said that we would bring in 3 or 4 average players? have you no faith in our manager? we need money to invest in the team, if this is the only way then so be it, it seems we are struggling to get money elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with last post. It does not make sense to sell him.

: red bull have brought er and ta and hoping to give b mc 30m in transfer cash!

Believable28 Unbelievable83

So they've bought a stadium and a training ground that we don't own AND they are going to give us £30M. Very generous of them, I have to say I'm warming to this Red Bull lot.

Agree4 Disagree0

Haha dream on. if they gave Brian 3m I would be happy.

Agree1 Disagree0

And where have you heard this? There is nothing on the OS or any statement from the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds United don't own Elland Road

Agree0 Disagree0

Think this would be known to the majority of leeds fans if it was true and it probaby would be national sport news

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think its true but if it is I have been told ER and TA would cost 25m to buy back. if we buy both back with the 30m on condition we name both ER and TA red bull whatever and have 5m left over for players that would be great. but do things as good as that happen to us. what a huge step forward it would be though.

Agree2 Disagree0

Where exactly did they bring Elland Road and Thorpe Arch to?!

Agree2 Disagree0

These things don't happen to LUFC- we are the only team taken over by a crowd with no money! could only happen to us

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 7th reply, can't you see its a typo. grow up. i'd love it if this was true but can't see this happening like you just said it has.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 9th reply get a sense of humour

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did you here this from and why isn't it news already

Otherwise good news and welcomed by pretty much all :)

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 10th, I have a sense of humour, tbh by picking at bits of peoples posts annoy people so not really funny.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's completely true, Elvis just rang me up and confirmed it, also said tomorrow's bonus ball number is 73! You heard it here first

Agree0 Disagree0

I normally drink red bull to sober up. Maybe some of you guys need to drink it also to sober up and stop dreamin

Agree0 Disagree0

Note to self bonus ball is 73

Just recieved some news from a source at the club about possible Ins and Outs.
Ins
Matt Mills (Permanent)
Albert Adomah
Tommy Rowe

Outs
Danny Pugh - Preston
David Norris - Bournemouth
Michael Tonge - Sheff Utd
Sam Byram - Man City £6m (View to be loaned back for a season)

Ross Killock - Bury (Loan)
Chris Dawson Bradford City (Loan)

Believable27 Unbelievable53

The 3 ins will only happen if Sammy leaves! Simple as!

LUFC KEK

Agree1 Disagree0

Had someone on here yesterday saying pugh to preston and norris to bournemouth, let's hope it happens as do tonge back to the blunts, maybe we can throw brown in as part of the tonge deal.

Agree2 Disagree0

Could cope with that as long as Sam is loaned back to us for at least one full season. Not sure about Chris Dawson though - how is his injury? If it is a short term loan to get him fit yes, but otherwise keep him here.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we lose bryam, we do not go up. If we loan him back we might go up, but likely to go down following year. And 6M? He must be worth more than that.

Agree0 Disagree2

To poster 4!
If we can't beat Walsall mate, we ain't going up with or without Sam!

LUFC KEK

Agree1 Disagree0

To the fourth reply, you sir are talking out of your a**e. Sam is one player, just one. You talk as if without him we haven't a hope. Well I totally disagree with you, in fact if this buy and loan back rumour is true, I would welcome it if it means having the funds to strengthen those areas we are desperate to strengthen, so be it. at least we'll have a good year to find the perfect replacement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why must he be worth more than that exactly? He's had one good season in the championship so I would say that would be a very fair valuation. Although I don't wanna see Sam go.

Agree0 Disagree0

One don't let pre-season games decide the season they don't mean jack s*** just to get fitness and test new team formations Man u just lost two does that mean they will go down? and I agree need to sell to buy and prob see Byram going to fund this

Agree0 Disagree0

Who are you going to replace Sam with? There are some players who make a huge difference to the team. What do you want? a team of mediocre players such as norris and brown? I don't want to sell all our best players. There are some people on this site who moan about the dead wood and I agree we have a lot? Do you really think we will be able to spend 6M on six players? If we can stump up the cash for a LW then that could make a difference? I certainly Agree we need pace, but do we need a RW when we have diouf and bryam on that side? Thompson might come good at RB. So what else? A CB? There may be a case for this, but it is a position I would fill after LW. Striker? We just brought two in. Are you saying you do not rate bmcd choice. I very much doubt he is looking at another.
We do not need 6M. We could get a CB and LW for 2M.
I think we are going to gell more this year and go on to win the title and I hope that we do not sell bryam under any circumstance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually, when we have a poor pre-season we tend to have a decent season. When we have an excellent pre-season, we get into relegation territory. I'm happy with a poor pre-season.

Was told my a friend of mine who works in finance in Leeds that the club have been in talks with Red Bull for quite a long time.

I understand the deal being structured is a partnership with GFH-C. Red Bull will provide the funds to re-buy the ground, but will also acquire the naming rights. There will be a shirt sponsorship. Sticking point is reportedly the club name. Red Bull also want to acquire the club naming rights, which GFH-C are unwilling to sell at the moment. Expect a compromise - something along the lines of "Leeds United Red Bulls" is what I was told. Or "Leeds United RBs"

Personally would be happy to see the stadium name change. Not going to ever call Elland Road the Red Bull stadium. But if the club became "Leeds Red Bulls", with new logo etc - essentially a different club based in Leeds - that'd be the end of my support.

Believable22 Unbelievable28

No way to treat the club by changing the name. We are Leeds until the day I die.

If there is any truth to this rumour, the supporters need to make their thought known to the board before it is too late and Red Bulls will have an empty stadium

Agree1 Disagree0

I know the concerns everyone has for the red bull investment/whatever it may be but in the climate for today in football we have to move with the times to keep up. I have been following leeds for over forty years now and will continue to even if it is LUFCRB.
We need the investment to get the players, doesn't have to be silly money on players but we have to get back to the premiership.

Agree4 Disagree1

A genuine 'wind-up'. Leeds United is the name, Leeds United it will remain. IF Red Bull are in talks, I would say the part about the ground sponsorship is close to the mark, but the rest is (IMO) Red Bull****!

Agree1 Disagree1

In Austria at the moment, the home of Red Blue and there is a massive ad campaign for Blue Bull - in silver and blue colours - a blueberry energy drink. So what about White Bull next?

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree 100% with reply 2, we need to move with the times, whatever they call the team and ground it, l always be Leeds United and Elland road to me.

Agree2 Disagree0

First off all they and gfh have to buy back the ground before anything can be done

Agree1 Disagree0

If memory serves an American business man tried to buy a lg2 club about 5 years ago. Part of his proposal was to change the end of their name to something like Lightning instead of FC to make them sound more exciting and sale-able abroad. The FA blocked the move saying he would have to treat it as a new club and drop it down to the lower levels. This could be because of fan protest but i'm guessing it was to stop rich people on a power trip buying the top clubs and changing names to stupid things. let's be honest if you could, with americans in charge of scum, they would have been the manchester red devils or some such the day after the ink dried on the paperwork.
Most likely it will be shirt sponsorship, stadium sponsorship and possible rename, which to be fair Elland road is hardly the most inspired bit of naming ever so I can live with that, and, if they buy controlling shares, not just an investment, It could mean a change of colour for the strip (similar to barca with there colour palette?) and a new badge, which was already fairly new so not dumping a large chunk of identity.
If the investment is big enough and we get the ground and TA back I could live with that.

Gummie

Agree2 Disagree0

Your last sentence baffles me. I question your loyalty if a name change would stop you supporting would still be leeds united.

For me any configuration of Leeds or Leeds United with Red Bull attached is okay. And I've been following the club since the early 70's.

Agree1 Disagree0

Name change won't happen as the FA do not allow over commercialisation

Agree0 Disagree0

Name changes won't happen in England, the precedent has been set.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course the name of the team will not, and cannot, change. Man C didn't become Manchester Ethihad, Arsenal didn't become Arsenal Emirates, or Newcastle U Newcastle Direct. People have a tendency to become carried away. Shirt and stadium naming par for the course for a big club taking big bucks. Fine. Let's get on with it. It's only really news because we are outside the Prem and desperate. The stadium name would only stick if it was a new stadium to boot. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest if they got naming rights David Haigh would have a lot of protest tweets soon after it was announced

I don't think they're foolish enough to allow Red Bull to rename Leeds United but the stadium naming/shirt sponsorship I can see happening and I don't think us fans would mind it too much if it got us back to the big time

Agree0 Disagree1

Don't know if this is a load of rubbish but if we do end up ''leeds redbulls'' (etc) after 13 years of supporting the club I would really re-consider supporting them, if it does happen it is a bit of a Master bates trick!

Agree0 Disagree0

My guess is that they wouldn't be allowed to change the name of the club otherwise this would have happened already with some of the other clubs that are nder foreign ownership/sponsorship.

Agree0 Disagree0

If red Bull are in talks then the OPs comment about them wanting to change the name is likely to be true as they have done that at every other club they are involved with (not just Salzburg). They got around Bundesliga rules against commercialisation by naming the club RB Leipzig and claiming it stood for Rasen Ballsport (lawn ballsport). Don't know what FA rules allow but they would hopefully insist that the name Leeds United remains. Personally I would welcome their investment ONLY if the club doesn't lose it's identity or have it's heritage and history denied.

Manchester city to Buy or Sam Byram for around the 5-7m mark and to be immediately loaned back to the club, which will add towards the funds if the partnership deal goes ahead with Red Bull, David Norris to go to Bournemouth this week.
MOT - P. J

Believable32 Unbelievable25

We need Sam, this will be a big season for him and a big move to city could ruin his career

Agree1 Disagree1

I hope so we need money for players definatley, we will really struggle this season if we don't get a cb a rb and 2 wingers and even a striker. I was feeling optimistic a month back but not now gfh are effing tight.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would not at all be surprised if this do happen.

According to the current bun Leeds are after 31yr old CB Kaspars Gorkss, what's people's thoughts on this? Good enough??

Believable46 Unbelievable17

Definitely. I'd personally prefer him to Mills

JodyWales

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably turned his attention to him either because we can't meet Boltons valuation or Mills won't come. he is a good player an would massively improve our poor defence.
The clock is ticking, need some quality in

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd choose Gorkks over Mills, definitely. Its a central defence we need really. Peltiers ok, but he's not always at his best and when he's not, he's actually quite a liability. Credit to Tom Lees, last season he impressed me (which wasnt the case from the season before). I reckon one good solid and experienced Centre Back is what we need. But the priority in my eyes is still with getting wingers in.

Roundhay White

Relegation specialist.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he meets the young and hungry description Brian McDermott said he was looking for and I don't think a player approaching 32 is worth £450,000. I would rather see Harry Maguire who at least has some potential and future sell on fee

Agree0 Disagree0

No, end of story.
