He'll be better than Bambi although sadly Bassong has been relegated a record 6 times in his career. Still a defender I rate higher than Bamba.

You seen him play much then George? I've only seen him on MOTD a few times and once live so hard to judge.

Not a great deal Corky but from my research he'd be a good fit. He's slightly younger than Bamba with over 100 PL games in his locker. I believe he'd be a decent acquisition as 4th choice central defender.

Saw a decent amount of him during his Newcastle and Spurs days. My big worry is that although he was good at Newcastle and initially for Spurs he started to make a lot of silly mistakes towards the end and they moved him on. Since then he has been a championship level player with a lot of relagations on his CV. doesn't strike me as someone that will oust our better CBs so why waste the money? don't see the point of a signing unless they push someone out of the starting lineup all this would do is drop Bamba from 4th to 5th choice.
Adrian Marriapa and Chris Samba are both still available for free and for me both better quality imo.

Gummie is right there was a period where he went all Anton Ferdinand with a bit of a shocker over the course of a few games from Norwich which led to him being left out for quite a while.
On his return he was scoring goals and looked a lot more solid. Maybe this is down to fitness, concentration levels usually dip when not fit enough so under Monk this may not be a problem given his tactic with Dallas and not rushing Jansson into the team.
I'm not sure the deal will get done unless they already have a buyer for Bamba.

He can definitely play a big role at Leeds, no way would be be 4th choice cb lol he would be starting along side cooper or Bartley imo. He makes mistakes like all our defence has made but given a chance he would be a very good signing but his wages would be high so I guess Bamba would have to leave.

Swadlad, you said Jansson would be better than anyone we have if he joined, now, that Bassong would be in the mix with Cooper and Bartley but makes mistakes. That means Jansson no1, Cooper, Bartley and Bassong joint 2-4 So yeah that does make him 4th choice pretty much, unless one of the other two starts to mess up.

Yes I said jansson is better than the defenders we have but I would say bassong would be 3rd choice n I'd have jansson n cooper as the main 2 n Bartley as 4th choice. What I'm saying is that if we sign bassong then any of the 4 would start depending on how well they train before the match. Jansson will need paying for if he plays more than 20 games so the others would get a chance. For me there is very little difference in quality between cooper, Bartley and bassong, I think they are all top half championship defenders. Jansson is a step above them 3 imo.

Lol no I just don't agree with him saying bassong would be 4th choice as I believe cooper, Bartley and bassong are all at the same quality with jansson a step above all of them 3. So I believe if bassong signs then he would get quite a few games especially with the 20 games thing with jansson.
