The collapse TO is something which the FL have asked for document wise before they grant approval. It is connected with the former regime and ownership issues of ground etc. Maybe Harvey's appointment to FL is causing spanner in works? So Harvey bites us in rear when we all thought he was working his socks off! Wobbly Wednesday or Takeover Thursday? It's Leeds United so expect sickness and disaster and no decent signings in the window of course.

Believable47 Unbelievable13

Good point but another thought. Is it something to do with Bates suing the club for wrongful dismissal.Who picks up the tab for the court case. is it new owners or existing owners who were in charge when dismissal occurred. JD

Agree3 Disagree0

While I agree with some of the last post I don't agree that the the hold up is something to do with the last regime, bates got the fit and proper vote from the fl (with some minor adjustments). So that must mean something else is holding it up, in my humble opinion, it could be the four in the consortium, it is getting constantly regurgitated that haigh and flowers are the ones named, but nothing about the other two, is it that these two have a shady background and it's the fl who require more info on them, it's their right to remain anonymous but are they holding the deal back?

Agree0 Disagree1

As GFH sacked Bates would seem reasonable they should suffer the costs if Bates was to win case. They are the people who should have been sure they were in the right before sacking him in that way so if they got it wrong they should pay!

Agree0 Disagree1

Very good point jd. if so you can fully understand the stall. And the same issue will complicate any sale.

Agree1 Disagree1

Problem is with the argument that GFH sacked Bates and therefore should be responsible is that there are people involved with GFH in the first takeover who are now involved with the second takeover. Why is nthing ever straightforward at Leeds? JD

GFH admitted to selling 50% of their shares last year, so if the new lot will own 75% of Leeds United, surely they must already own most of that 50%?

Otherwise how could GFH be selling 75% of THEIR shares to the new lot?

Even to me, that doesn't add up?

Unless GFH are only selling 75% of the 50% they retained, which would mean the new lot will only get 75% of 50% which is actually 37.5%?

No wonder this is dragging on, perhaps the new lot thought they were buying 75% of ALL the shares and not 75% of the remaining 50% that GFH actually own?

You couldn't make this crap up, could you?

At least we knew Bates was taking the p**s.

Believable16 Unbelievable16

Even if it was only 37.5% they could still have the majority of shares which would mean they were in control

Agree1 Disagree1

Surely whoever GFH sold the 50% to last year would have the majority of shares?

Agree2 Disagree1

There were a few people who had shares including the current chairman who is remaining as chairman so I suspect that he may be part of the consortium and will add his shares to the ones they are buying.

Agree2 Disagree0

If they are only getting 37.5% I can't see much money been thrown at transfers

Agree2 Disagree0

37.5% would make them majority shareholders but it would not give them control as they could still be out voted on decisions. It may be that members of the consortium bought the shares GFH sold last year. Or it could be that GFH are acting as brokers for whoever they sold the shares to. No wonder the FL are struggling o sort the paperwork with so many parties involved. sadly nothings ever straightforward at LUFC!

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with original poster that GFH cannot sell 75% of Club shares and keep 10% as they don't currently own 85%! Salah Noorudin has 10% and IIRB (Arab Bank) have 10% unless there have been other transactions we don't know about. There is so much about this which raises questions!

Agree0 Disagree0

You couldn't make it up? you just had a good go at doing do so!

Heard that Massimo Cellino (President of Calgari) is looking to sell a few of the star players in order to buy Leeds. Don't know how much truth is in this but I have heard that Cellino has said that Ibarbo will be at Barca in summer

Just recieved some solid information from a colleague of mine who works in Leicester. According to my colleague Leeds have made contact with Leicester City over the availability of striker Martyn Waghorn. He's added that there is a number of clubs interested in signing the player on loan. My colleague said there has been interest from a few championship clubs such as Birmingham and plenty of clubs in League One. I've done some research on the striker and the Leicester Mercury reported six days ago Leicester want £450,000 for Waghorn. I was also told Luke Moore has spoken to Brian McDermott about a move to Elland Road but may opt to go elsewhere.

Believable8 Unbelievable22

We won't be signing anyone at the moment I, m afraid.

Agree1 Disagree0

It's all over the internet leeds have been link with waghorn

Agree2 Disagree0

We will be 10th to 16th consistently if we carry on buying mediocre players, I guess the 2 wingers need time to settle but so far both look lightweight and neither seems to have a turn of foot, not to mention they seem afraid to tackle!

Agree2 Disagree1

Do we really need another forward who can't score. We already have Hunt

Leeds takeover is in grave danger of collapsing as GFH & prospective new owners are disagreeing on something. Source: tv Radio Leeds Adam Pope's twitter.

Believable52 Unbelievable25

This doesn't surprise me. After all, it is Leeds United we are talking about!

Agree2 Disagree0

Exact tweet : #lufc If the issues are not resolved between owners GFH & consortium buying 75% stake of their holding, the deal is in danger of collapse.

Agree3 Disagree1

Back to loans and freebies then .

I miss league one

The`ve now confirmed that they have come to an agreement to sell the shares?

Agree2 Disagree5

Blah blah blah, don't believe anything till its on the official site.

Agree2 Disagree0

Just a joke, go bankrupt again, and start from scratch

Agree2 Disagree1

Feel sorry for RM new captain but the owners are embarrasing,

Agree2 Disagree1

If the consortium have already put 6 million in to keep the club running do you really think they will write it off? Also GFH have admitted the sale is happening so I can't see it not happening.

Agree3 Disagree1

Oh dear, what a shambles of a club we are. Another relegation battle looms.

Agree1 Disagree5

Let the fans own the club. There's plenty of us!

Agree2 Disagree2

Unsurprising. Proof? Ashley Barnes deal and it being leaked.

Agree1 Disagree1

Well it is still going ahead on a load of "respected" non-football sights up until 1pm today so as normal maybe people want to expect the worst.

I cannot see DH + co just walking away from 6m either, that just does not happen in business, s fully expect it to happen this week, mind you it has dragged on a fair bit so can understand the neg comments

Agree1 Disagree0

How many times did we hear this bull. t when GFH took over, deal's off, collapsing etc. Just impatient people putting two and two together and making 5.
Personally, I will wait for an official statement one way or the other.
MOT Ron.

Agree3 Disagree0

Why have GFH released a statement then stating that once full approval has been obtained from Football League that they will only retain a 10% holding in the club. let's just wait and see instead of relying on a load of c**p speculation!

Agree2 Disagree0

I am confused have the FL approved it yet or not?

Agree1 Disagree1

Adam Pope also spouted a load of carp during the last takeover. Pinch of salt time.

Agree1 Disagree0

I wish some of the doubters could hear themselves.Trevo

Agree1 Disagree1

YEP site reporting quotes from GHF saying they will have 10 percent when the take over finally goes through.

Believe it or not - deals like this take time - they're not buying a bag of sweets.

So Wait.

Agree1 Disagree0

Might as well be buying a bag of sweets!

Agree0 Disagree0

^That's exactly what they are buying. Absolute joke of a club from top to bottom.

Agree0 Disagree1

The hold up could well be because a rival consortium involving Pearson are trying to hijack the deal. MOT?

Agree0 Disagree0

Only person I feel sorry for is mcdermott the man doesn't deserve all this stuff going on behind the scenes it needs sorting asap

Agree1 Disagree0

Apparently the delay is because there is another consortium wanting to agree a deal a rival bid for the shares.

Agree0 Disagree0

There isn't another consortium involved, if GFH won't sell it to one of there own men they won't sell at all . The deal will go through

Leeds are after Nottingham Forest stiker Matt Derbyshire to assist McCormack in attack.

Believable10 Unbelievable54

We need a striker who needs McCormack to support him. Better strikers about then Ross, just got to find/afford one :)

Better get round to my mates house because derbyshire is a relative of them . don't want him at leeds to be honest .

Football league approval has been given but there is a dispute between gbh and the new consortium and says it could be in danger off callapse . (Was on radio Leeds 7.30 ) Great hey lads. Mot

Believable46 Unbelievable22

And lasses MOT!

Agree1 Disagree1

Have patience. Good things come to those who wait. Have faith as this year is stuffed. let's no have more knee jerk reactions, buying second grade just for the sake of buying and start looking at start building for a sustainable sucessful future.

Agree1 Disagree1

Gfh will have to sell otherwise their shares will tumble

Agree4 Disagree1

Typical Leeds!

Agree1 Disagree0

Cannot see how, if both sides have signed an agreement for the terms of sale/purchase (and GFH have said they have) there can then be a disagreement that causes deal to collapse unless funds are not forth coming. GFH have given impression that all in place and just waiting FL approval. Misleading Stock Exchange in Bahrain serious offence!

Agree0 Disagree0

"Football league approval has been given"

Prove it or delete the posting.

Ed, how can you allow postings like this that are totally unsubstantiated?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Its called a rumour}

No need to delete anything mate that's exactly what hit said on radio leeds . Only saying what I heard on the radio .

Agree0 Disagree0

"Only saying what I heard on the radio ."

Oh well, it must be true then, despite absolutely nobody from the league actually stating it anywhere themselves.

All I want to see is something in writing from the League to confirm the deal has been approved, otherwise - it hasn't!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - It doesn't have to be true, its a rumours page}

Leeds looking at a young Austrian goalkeeper as long tem replacement for Paddy Kenny, goes by the name of Lukas Hinterseer

Believable12 Unbelievable45

{Ed001's Note - isn't he a forward??}

He is a forward but with 10 goals in 20 in the Bundesliga I'm keen

Midfielder

Agree0 Disagree1

Yep a striker, but he does have a similar scoring record to Kenny. MOT

Agree0 Disagree1

Yes he is a forward, I live in Germany and although the poster seems to have got his position wrong he's right about Leeds interest, there is rumour here.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3rd comment . maths is not your subject I guess. 10 in 20 suggests a goal every 2nd game in my book.

JDC

Agree0 Disagree0

WOW never heard of this guy but he's scored 10 goals in 20 games in the Bundesliga, that's some going, market value of £700, 00. that's got to be worth a punt. Come on BMcD this is the kind of transfer we need, remember Hasslebaink, Yeboah were similar.

Agree2 Disagree0

Is he related to the retired ski champion turned crooner, Hansi Hinterseer? I can hear it all now - jokes about going downhill!

But there is some serious talent in the Austrian leagues, and this guy, who plays midfield/second striker could well bring the goods.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hosiner for one, Norwich and Newcastle were supposed to be interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

We should start a petition to get him noticed by BMcD at least

Luke Dowling (Lufc scout) apparently hinted on twitter that we were after Graham. didn't see it myself as I think he then deleted it. May be bollox but its what people are saying on twitter.

Diamondlight.

Believable11 Unbelievable36

I hear on good authority that Nottm Florist are very keen on danny graham too (was being debated on Radio Nottm sports show last night).

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah I heard that too. let's hope by some miracle we can land him! I'm not confident we will though especially with NF looking good for promotion/playoffs!
