Sounds like definite movement. I gather GFH have been ditched and a new member has joined consortium

Lets think about this for a moment.
Warnock declares on ITV that there'll be some supposed "GOOD NEWS IN NEXT 10 DAYS".
There appears to be a "SOLO" bidder in for us.
2 things come to mind instantly, were being taken over guarenteed and new funds will arrive in time for new signings before we entertain bristol city.
Get that champagne on ice boys
Agree0
Disagree0
And a whole new round of due diligence for the new prospect.
back to square one.
the ball starts rolling again boys.
SERIOUSLY when will anyone get the message, put the takeover out of your minds, it may as well not fookin exist, we have what we have
get it? we have what we have
Agree0
Disagree1
To the poster talking about another round of due diligence, as i understand it the solo bidder would not have to go through that again as the leg work has been done. Any new prospective buyers would surely have access to the previous reports thus speeding the process up some.
Fingers crossed we can one get the injection of cash into the club next week & 2 find the loan signings Neil wants that can be made perminant in Jan. If, and it is a massive if - we can get the loan signings in that want to play for the club, prove themselves and get a perm deal in Jan then the season may not be lost. We have a massive mountain to climb, but a good season is still achievable if we can turn things around with some new arrivals.
I still think this league has got tougher each year we have been in it, and our chances this season are slimmer than they were the first season we came up from League 1, but hopefully we can have some closure in the next week or two which will allow us to get behind the team, start filling the ground again and making Elland Road the fortress it once was.
To get the best out of this season we need to make other teams fear us, fear the atmosphere and dread coming to Leeds. Getting that atmosphere back will go a long way to getting the decent home record we need to give us the best chance of climbing that table.

He didn't say that this morning on yorkshire radio 730am he said the board are working hard behind the scene to get investment, knowing bates that won't happen for a while
Agree0

It all depends if the NEW bidder was brand new, or part of the original group.. Remember that DD costs an arm and a leg,, and is performed ONLY for the perspective buyers.... If it comes to light that the rest of the consortium have dropped out leaving one person, then all is ok....
Otherwise DD starts again,, IF it's a takeover... If as rumours suggest that it's in effect simply investment, and part ownership, then I would expect this to come with clauses of not only the Use of any invested funds, but also the exposure to any potential hidden debt...
If its true, I say HATS off to the buyer, cos I certainly would not want to be involved with Bates as much as I love Leeds !!!

Prince faisal bin fahed adullah saud also connected with Liverpool last year.
He was reportedly looking at buying 50% of the shares to assist in Liverpools debt problems and helping current owner Gillet.
Nothing came of the interest from him, so he's obviously got some spare cash. He also owns a ports company, who buy sports clubs, footy, baseball etc etc etc

A billionaire who can only buy 50%? think about it.

I think kens quite reluctant to sell up. I think a man at his age is past caring about money...... More about his legacy. I think he wants to be a part of Leeds if/when we return to the premiership. Also we don't know anything about the consortium and what their motives are, and maybe ken just wants the right deal for the club ( believe it or not ).
Agree0

Oh here we go again, money this, money that. I would just be happy with investment on new players, not so and so as this that and the other.

from phil hay
warnock says no loan striker before Sat! ross mc out for 12 weeks. what the heck is going on. do the bufoons in charge not see what we need - i.e players in. its a joke. we are constantly being told as fans to get behind the team - but its a two way thing. nothing seems to be coming back from the club but us mugs - sorry fans are expected to keep handing over our money week in week out. why should we? where does the money go? one of the phone in callers on state radio on tuesday night asked where had the £4m gone for Snoddy? as usual no answer given. its just so annoying - we will be in bottom 3 before not too long - but bates and his cronies dont care do they? sorry rant over but it really does wind me up!
Believable33
Unbelievable5
Warnock has stated that he has been trying to get players in but the players he wants are not available. There is no point in 'the bufoons in charge' signing players who aren't good enough simply for the sake of increasing the size of the squad. We have youngsters like Poleon and Sanchez Payne who can come in and do a job in the short term.
As for the caller asking where the Snodgrass cash went, it's a very good question, but sadly Eddie didn't know where KB keeps his piggy bank?
Agree1

Being totally honest your pretty much spot on with your rant.
Agree0

The 4m for snoddy didnt go anywhere because we didnt get 4m for him we got 1.5m upfront and another 1.5m at some point (not sure when) so look at what we bought Austin 300k Varney 300k Peltier 850k Pearce 500k Kenny 500k thats 2.4m only other players we sold was lonergan 200k Clayton 500k so 2.2m out 2.4m in thats where pal
Agree0

If sanchez payne was that good of a player he would be playing in the team now {Ed020's Note - he's young, you don't wanna rush the youngsters, you could ruin them by introducing them to early.}
Agree0
Disagree0
The reason his targets had gone because he wasn't given the money at the time to bring in the players he wanted - how many times did he mention 'marquee' signings, I take on board your point about austin, peltier etc but its obvious he has been promised more money but for reasons known only to the wonderful caring salt of the earth honest people in charge of our great club - that did not materialise. Poleon fair play he looked good on Tuesday but we should not have to be relying on him - using NW point on Saturday look what Cardiff had to bring off their bench on Saturday - pace and experience - we dont have that. I am sorry for my earlier rant - but im like all other LUFC fans on here - i love my club and want to see them do well
Agree0

Thats what Alex Ferguson said of Wayne Rooney,, and we all know what a flop he became at 17-18 - dohhh..!
Woody LUFC
Agree0

You sum it up very well. Why should we be expected to keep chucking our money at the club, when we get nothing back and its not spent where its needed on the team?
Agree0
Disagree0
Woody thats what Ferguson said? why would he say that when he wasn't anything to do with Rooney till he was already proven in the top flight? Seems a bit strange he would come out with that comment only to buy the guy a year or 2 later after he already would have looked like an person for making that comment..

Story on news now saying one of the consortium trying to buy Leeds has gone solo and is offering KB half now and keeping him there as a consultant until hes ready to sell his remaining shares, I hope this is true, because lately instead of being United , our fans are split right down the middle, Lets stick together and support the Best team in the Land.MOT . We want and need Bates out. He's a crook.
Agree0

If its tru adn a better deal for the club in the long run then great. Just worried that this may drag out what is already a long TO process. Until things are sorted I cant see the team getting any better.
Also the consultancy role would have to be behind the scenes with no media presence..and he would have to pay his own legal fees.
Agree0
Disagree0
I would see this as bad, because if the original takeover has taken this lon,g imagine what will happen if this rumour is try could push us back past christmas, me as most leeds fans would like to know and see is a yes the takeover has happened/no the takeover is off to get a proper feeling on how we can do during the season, not sitting here going well if it happens we will bring in X,Y,Z
Gizmo MOT
Agree0

Any deal where that involves his continued involvement with lufc is not a step forward, like a snake you need to cut the head off
Agree0
Disagree0
If this is true then it indicates that some of the issues that have delayed the takeover deal have come from the buyers side (not all Ken's fault afterall). Makes me wonder what kind of people we are dealing with ! Either way, we need things to change in terms of team investment, anybody can see that !
Agree0

When Bates finally goes, are we keeping the 'Bates Out' chant?
It's been going on so long it's almost a tradition, now.
One aside, here... why have us Leeds fans never put together a proper supporters' trust with the intention of building funds to takeover the club?
150,000 folk invest around £500 apiece and we would just about have enough to do it.
Fair enough, you probably wouldn't see your money again until the club was sold on after a few years in the premier but, you'd ultimately make back about 10 times your investment.
Agree0
Disagree0
So you think we could all cough up the 500 and buy thr club for 75milion even though the price is around 50million at the minute. Then in a few years sell it for 750million. I love Leeds but wise up mate. Never worth as much as that

There are rumours in The National that Leeds have had a 2nd bid from one of the consortium who has gone solo.
The offer would include 50% of the money now, with KB staying on as a consultant, with the remainder being paid when KB decides to leave.
However, this does come from Duncan Castles who seems to know as much as Phil Hay.
