Leeds are trying to sign Connor Wickham on loan until the end of the season with view to a permanent deal.

Connor Wickham is searching for assurances from Sunderland before making the move to Leeds. Wickham, in recent interview, has stated he's capable of playing for Sunderland week in week out if they give him the chance to do so. Poyet is still unsure whether the striker is in his plans for the short and long term.

This also depends on whether Massimo Cellino is approved by the football league. If approved, the deal can be offered to Sunderland meaning the cards are on their table.

This rumour has been going on for years now it will never happen

Agree1 Disagree3

Im not saying this isn't true. But can I ask where you got this info from. I can't find any article to back your theory. Personally would love if this was true

Agree1 Disagree0

We have already signed 3 players of loan. Only 2 more allowed

Agree1 Disagree0

A club can sign as many as they like, But only 5 can be named in match day squad.
Anyway, I wouldn't set too much faith in all this "Transfer" activity, either this season or in next transfer window. Look at LUFC books, ALREADY overspend to comply with FFP rules.

Agree0 Disagree1

Please please god no, he's awful I'd rather Matt Smith than him and I'm not a fan of Matt Smith either! We should be looking at better players than this.

Agree0 Disagree2

To above poster - he's "awful" is he?

He gave our defenders a torrid time against Weds. He is more mobile than Smith and is far more dangerous in possession.

Would be a welcome addition and take a load off Macs shoulders (in my view).

C'mon down Conor.

Agree3 Disagree0

He's "awful"? You chat rubbish pal, As for person who picked up on five loanees in match day squad well done saved me the trouble.

Connor Wickham is a 20 year old who has appeared for the England under 21s seventeen times since 2010, He warranted a 8 million pound signing fee in 2011 from a premiership club, he probably has a lot of growing to be done.

But nine goals in sixteen starts for Barnsley doesn't seem too shabby at this level and he may bring something to the team, we'll see if it even happens.

Either way to say he's awful seems a little silly considering his promise and that fact that he seems to be held in high regard for some reason would suggest he's certainly not "awful"

Agree2 Disagree2

9 goals in 18 games for OWLS not BaBa's

Agree1 Disagree0

Wickham would probably be our best striker! i'd rather have Wickham than Smith any day of the week

Shaun

Agree1 Disagree1

Terrific prospect. I would be impressed if we managed somehow to get him. Let's get the t/o over the line Massimo! Chapel A

Agree1 Disagree0

Would be a great signing!

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes owls correct, typing frenzy and recently discussing Butland some how led me to type Barnsley, be even more impressed with Butland if he'd got 9 goals for Barnsley.

Stats I was looking at didn't include his last game for wednesday but 9 from 17 still doesn't seem too shabby, more importantly this season it's 8 from 11 which certainly doesn't seem a terrible conversion rate.

Ok I will try to explain.
I'm trusted with all sorts of stuff and if I post something which is not cryptic I could be in big trouble.
I can tell you that Yorkshire Radio will come back on air in March.
Big deal the fans say but it is huge for me and the people I employ.
Massimo is convinced he has FL approval and it will be announced very soon.
I keep saying and have done for at least a month.
A keeper
A striker
A central midfielder all to be announced in the next few days.
David Haigh is working very hard and negotiating with a number of clubs but those are the positions to be filled ASAP
Please note, nothing cryptic but I can't name names.

Agree1 Disagree2

But survivor has been saying for a month thay a keeper creative mid and striker will be coming in!

Must be amazing knowing this. Everyone on this site and even brian mcdermott has said these are the positions we need. Its been discussed at length since the summer window closed that we need to bolster these.positions now.

Give some facts or quit talking total nonsense survivor. In the know indeed.

Crmd

Agree3 Disagree1

Think people are being very harsh on "survivor" no outrageous claims, talks sense and is right with most of the rumours. Better than some of the whingers on the site!

knowledge and predicting things are 2 total different things and survivor you have predicted many things in the past non of which have turned out to be true maybe one prediction will be right

Agree1 Disagree1

I loved yorkshire radio, the sport coverage and music were spot on.

Agree1 Disagree0

McDaid can't be the new striker we all so desperatley want he's only 17. One for the future

Agree2 Disagree0

Don't forget, wayne Rooney was a young striker at Everton.

Not being funny any move for another keeper is good, Kenny is over weight, looks like a Sunday league keeper and constantly grins all the time even when we are loosing.

20 Feb 2014 17:55:32
would rather it were Alex McCarthy

Agree1 Disagree1

Is Cairns ever going to make it at Leeds, I don't think so.

Agree1 Disagree0

He has signed, on OS LUTV

Agree1 Disagree0

To the second poster. OS says. Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland on loan until the end of the season.
He could make his debut for Leeds in Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough. I think that is proof positive he has signed. MOT

Leeds have now agreed a loan deal with stoke for Jack Butland. Forms have been sent to Football league, now awaiting approval.

Believable48 Unbelievable17

Awaiting approval huh . Now why does that sound familiar huh? Maybe he will be approved in time for the next transfer window!

Agree2 Disagree0

Even with a 93 day emergency loan you have to gain approval. Also Paddy Kenny is a major injury doubt so Butland could make his debut on saturday

Agree4 Disagree0

Just been announced on radio Leeds that BMD has said he is going to be In place before Saturdays March at boro.

Lifelongleedsfan

Agree4 Disagree1

On OS that he has signed. Great move I think. Not convinced by Kenny anyway. So it shows that no one knows sweet fa about our financial state etc. All rumours with no real substance, but now I suppose the moaners will complain that Butland is a backward step, or that we should've got Robinson, or Carson in .

Agree1 Disagree0

A good deal, in my opinion.

Agree2 Disagree0

A great deal he is a very good keeper who has been in the England squad, there was I believe a lot of competition for him so it shows good intent by the board to sign him on loan, hopefully a sign of things to come when hopefully the takeover happens.

Agree1 Disagree0

At last a keeper with a physical presence - wasn't he in goal at ER against Barnsley? - if so I assure any moaners he's very good
