Haigh consortium and Farnan consortium supposedly joining forces. it's far from over yet.

Believable30 Unbelievable49

I hope so.
But it is all about who has the most money to take our club forward!

Agree2 Disagree1

Hang on its going to get bumpy

Agree1 Disagree0

All the financial vultures should all fack off and let the italian have a go - - the club needs money, passion and verve and spontaneity - this past year or so has been so dull - no transfers no goals - today was a result of the electricity and 'passion' and adrenalin in the air . BM or for all his positives needs to instill that passion in the place - and try to work with Massimo Cellino. just maybe today was B'cos we were finally riled up? let the italian in - and some playmakers and let's enjoy the ride. bellissimo

Agree4 Disagree2

Hope not DH has a lot of explaining to do to the fans - let's clear the air and remove any duplicity ; I prefer The European way . to speak ones mind - fight / make up / get it out then move on

Agree3 Disagree1

Er actually it kinda is over. Cellinio has coughed up to gfh. He owns (via family members to duck fa f and p test) 75% of shares.

Agree2 Disagree1

If the 'family' are on the paperwork then that sounds good to me - will pass Fit and Proper . so let's get this club back in the swing - Italian playmakers for midfield - Perlo style = bring it on. The players connected with as centre forwards both look very handy indeed

Agree2 Disagree1

I agree with the above. Let's have the Italians. Haigh has had his chance and if another consortium buys us it will just be decisions by committee and nothing gets done. Wouldn't mind 20 years of stability.

Agree3 Disagree1

So why wer'nt his people in the dugout?

Agree1 Disagree0

Exactly - football is a Sport!, a gamble, a game! - not about the fecking boardroom process . so get a man in with passion and vision and spontaneity at the helm - fed up with Suits and british grammar school boys wanting to play games with our great club - I bet Cellino got picked for his teams at school - can't say the same for the twerps I've seen fronting Leeds this past few years. Time for a change of gear and passion

Agree1 Disagree1

Stability
How many managers has he got rid of in his time!!

Agree2 Disagree0

Get Mac back

Agree2 Disagree0

Mike farnan will have money, so will flowers iff they team up .

Agree1 Disagree1

Just to remind you BMC fans ; WE had picked up just three points from a possible 21 in the Championship under BMC

Agree3 Disagree1

Just to remind you.
Get real, mac only had warlocks rubbish to pick from. In mac we trust, the man is quality.

Agree3 Disagree1

Get the Big Mac BACK

Agree3 Disagree1

Give the guy a break, needs better players that's all, can't do much without much financial backing.

Agree2 Disagree0

Cellino can't put family members as directors and run the club. Anybody who has or is seen to manage or control or influence the running of a club also has to go through Fit and Proper Persons Test. Forest are under investigation for this currently. The Football League are looking at this closely hence taking the unusual step of issuing a statement.
Cellino ultimately failed in his previous attempts to buy West Ham and Palace because he couldn't pass the FPP

Agree2 Disagree0

All true leeds fans, want the Big Mac back

Agree4 Disagree2

And Roman Abramovic and Vincent Tan do of course. Wishful thinking. Do you really believe this man will go to the extent of instructing lawyers to act on this acquisition without considering the football league rules. Get real. He has already set up the company which will acquire the shares. All you need to do is check companies house.

Bromley white

Agree0 Disagree1

The guy has come up with the money let's move on

Agree1 Disagree1

Let's not forget " The FL have been very helpfull!" statement from last week, says a lot huh?

Agree1 Disagree0

Cellino didn't fail F+P test when attempting to purchase other clubs, it never got that far. And he shouldn't have a problem with passing now, as all convisctions were over ten years ago. Bring him and his money to Elland Road. Can't wait.

Agree1 Disagree0

Well seems to me Cellino made a major fxck up here! but the man is an Italian with PASSION! never meet one that was not hot blooded and passionate, sure he's in it for the money but they all are, But for him to see ELLAND RD in full flow and 31'000 + fans chanting he's seen and felt the passion and support for this club and gone WOW! done a u turn, and is in limbo now, not knowing which way to turn! A BIT OF A DODGY START! But I for one would take this dodgy Italian with passion for the game and money to burn, but with Brian Mc in place picking the team, This team are not perfect but are gelling as a team and a squad, as shown by support from the bench Saturday and with this combo in place prem football can not be to far away . MOT

So apparently Leeds have signed Tabanelli and Avelar on loan but it says nothing on the Leeds website so has this actually happened? Is it official? Will they be in a Leeds shirt next Saturday? I'm confused.

Believable29 Unbelievable9

Apparently massimo tried to sign them on loan but couldn't as he wasn't the owner yet

Agree1 Disagree1

If you go on the OS and look under players one of them is listed!

Agree2 Disagree0

Tabanelli has been signed on loan as he is listed under the first team squad on the OS

Agree2 Disagree0

Maybe cellino is just getting ahead of himself a bit just shows he maybe just does not know how rules work in our English league or thinks he can do as he wants.

Agree3 Disagree0

Bring back Brian Mac

Agree4 Disagree1

This was a transfer window these players are loan players there is another loan period now following the closure of the transfer window. The new owner isn't officially the owner so he can't buy transfer players yet BUT he now has a period to loan players if and when his takeover goes through. It's the same as sacking BMac - he can't do it yet because he ain't the owner yet but just wait and see.

Agree2 Disagree0

Andrea Tabanelli is now on the leeds websites squad so he's signed danoli avelar deal didn't go through in time but will come in on the emergency loan window opens oooohhhhh brian mcdermott is bk MOT

Agree3 Disagree0

Emergency loan rules, u can only sign players from the country they play in. I don't think u can even do loans from Scotland. Defo no international loans though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not don't want the mafia

Agree0 Disagree0

Just seen some footage on Danilo Alevar. I know anyone can be made to look good on these but he was playing in seria A games against good teams. Looks a decent footballer Playing mainly on the left good crosser. Well balanced could be good for us if he eventually comes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Avelar deal didn't go through and Tabanelli loan declared null and void as documentation was not signed by anybody with legal authority to sign on behalf of Leeds. it was signed by Cellino

It gets more blizare a statement on the OS regarding Brian McDermott

The club would like to make it clear that Brian McDermott remains our first team manager. He has not been dismissed from his post as has been suggested and we look forward to him continuing in his role with us in taking Leeds United forward

Believable38 Unbelievable3

Agree mate could the last 24 hours been any more bizarre, what next god only knows

Agree2 Disagree0

Return of the mac!.

Agree2 Disagree1

That statement has been issued by GFH to avoid any compensation payment to Brian McDermott or legal case/fees. GFH can say they didn't sack him and as they are the owners nobody else had authority to sack him. If Brian doesn't return to work he will be in breach of contract and be deemed to have quit his post. No compensation or legal action can be taken by him. He now has to return to work knowing he will almost certainly be sacked if Cellino completes take over. Its as if GFH are trying to get him out without paying compensation etc.!

Agree3 Disagree1

With BM we ll lose to Yeovil

Agree2 Disagree2

We don't want any more crooks running our club.sod of the dodgy italian

Agree2 Disagree1

01 Feb 2014 19:28:33
Brian save your dignity and leave we dnt deserve u gfh are a disgrace treating u like this and cellino has no right to demand anything until they own the club let alone sack uyou good luck brian your a true leeds man in my eyes!

Covering their backs. He will be gone when and if Cellinio gets the club

david haigh has come out and said BMcD is not sacked and that he is the coach of Leeds United

Believable24 Unbelievable0

There is a difference between being a coach and being a manager do the new owners plan to demote him instead of sacking him

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2014 19:00:22
It says first team manager on OS

Agree0 Disagree0

As someone else has pointed out on another thread I think GFH are saying they didn't sack him (which is correct) and whoever did had no authority. So he's not sacked. (yet) Bascically handing the eventual sack and any compensation into Cellinos lap.

Haigh and hunt both back in the boardroom today. Who knows how long for though.

Cellino tried to sign a Brazilian player (not sure of a name) last night. Couldn't however be processed due to him not officially having any role in the club right now. So not sure what would be happening with that either

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Fantastic result today, very well done to all the boys, that ones for you brian McDermott!

Agree1 Disagree0

Brazilian will be Avelar the Cagliari player linked with coming to us on loan

Agree1 Disagree0

BMD Back! - Fan Power has sorted this! Now we need to discredit This person Italian. Looking at the online petition to HM Government to look into his shady past and whether he is fit and proper to own a football club. How do we get the ball rolling on a petition?

Agree0 Disagree2

I'd rather we got Adryan off them. he's a true talent

Agree0 Disagree0

Another load of rot about a Brazilian and signings from Cagliari. As the Brazilian is not a European national he would need FL and international clearance to get a work permit. As he is not a full regular Brazilian international he would not get a permit. JD

Agree1 Disagree0

If 100,000 fans sign a petition we can get this in government if the Americans can do it to get Justin baby out the country so can we

Agree0 Disagree3

Honestly what are u on about, getting a pe
tition up to get somebody out who wants to invest in us and buy elland road back .persons

Agree5 Disagree1

Must be udders trying to get a petition up lol

Agree4 Disagree0

Quite agree with the above let's see what he does and says first before we think of any petition he has not previous for murder just a fraud involving trying to build a better stadium hardly crime of the century.I think who he appoints as manager if BMD does go will be a sign of his intent.

Agree1 Disagree0

Plus why are people criticising a owner of a club who sacks 36 managers to get what he wants which is see his club in serie a which is eventually is what has happened .the club is always bigger than the manager .bates wouldn't sack anyone unless it was ok with us .no one moaned when grayson blackwell etc was sacked but bates didn't have any ambition for us .i hope the italian brings us success which ever way is best for us

Agree2 Disagree0

Bring back big Brian Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

The boy from brazil has an italian passport

Agree0 Disagree0

What would the petition to stop him owning Leeds be based on?The fact he is Italian? The fact he wants to invest in Leeds or the fact in your eyes he is a heinous criminal, I'm confused!

How much is this Cellino family worth then Ed?

Believable14 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - nobody knows for sure, estimates range between hundreds of million to billions of dollars. Only thing that is certain is that he is rich and cash rich too, not just in terms of what he owns. He has previously tried to buy West Ham, QPR and Crystal Palace, each time proving to have the funds to complete the purchase.}

He certainly has the money to finance Leeds, that's for sure.

Agree3 Disagree0

It's 800 million pounds

Agree2 Disagree0

It's 800 million pounds but his family is worth billions. It is the family who is taking over

Agree3 Disagree0

They may have money but doesn't mean they invest it in their football clubs . look at calgari

Agree0 Disagree1

Calgiari averaged 8, 900 gates last year and their in the top league in Italy . if he can get us in the prem and make elland road a 50,000 stadium .it would be huge step up in the football world for them .

Gulf Finance House released a statement on Saturday lunchtime after a manic 24 hours at Elland Road, confirming it had agreed a 75 per cent sale to Eleonara Sport Ltd - Cellino's company - subject to Football League approval.

The news had been expected, but came a day after Cellino had overseen the removal of manager Brian McDermott in favour of long-term friend Gianluca Festa.

However in another twist, it is believed ahead of Saturday's game with Huddersfield the club were working on persuading McDermott to return to the dugout.

Believable19 Unbelievable4

They sacked him illegally, my advise Brian is stay away and sue the club for millions. If you go back they will only sack you at a later date.

Agree1 Disagree1

Remember, they don't want a manager only a coach. I hope they get a coach back to Italy.

That's the word at ER. We are in the pavilion and apparently they are trying to get Brian back in charge for the match today

Agree1 Disagree1

Brilliant, hope so! ROS

Agree1 Disagree0

Brilliant if true (Brian and Haigh) as they have our interests at heart.

for those of you who say Brian deserved to be sacked . grow up. games were always going to be lost this year as we were rebuilding on a 2 yr plan as stated at beginning of season. we were the ones who got over excited dreaming of the prem when we had a winning streak.
did Alex ferguson get sacked in his woeful first year at Manchester United . no . and look how he repiad their faith in him.
Brian was the right man for us he was building from the bottom ie training ground being sorted, the youngsters becoming closer to the first team, etc etc however he inherited most of the team and only had minimum resources to play with and to try and rebuild . I know we lost against Leicester but look how we played with abit more luck we should have easily won that game and Leicesters goalie was awarded man of match.
Sing Brians name the whole of the match to show our support.

Agree4 Disagree0

Just a thought- this Italian guy has to pass the football league 'proper and right' examination-doesn't look good sacking people left right and centre, so maybe that's why the rumours are they coming back!

A STATEMENT FROM GFH CAPITAL
A statement from the owners.

PUBLISHED 01 FEBRUARY 2014 AT 12:20

Following recent media reports and speculation, GFH Capital would like to confirm that it has agreed to sell a 75 per cent stake in the club to Eleonora Sport Ltd, a company owned by the Cellino family who have many years experience in football and who plan to invest substantially in the club including the re acquisition of Elland Road. Eleonora will be working on completing the required Football League approval.

The Cellino Family is a well known Italian sports family, who have owned Serie A side Cagliari since 1992. They come to English football with an ambition to support Leeds United financially to take it to the Premier League and a belief that the club can sustain top-flight status.

Since the agreement, Leeds United is in discussion with Elenora Sport Ltd. on a number of issues concerning the Club matters including the structure of the management of the first team.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

It also says that ownership of Leeds will be Cellinos son and wife, thereby hoping the fit and proper test won't be an issue, sly or what?.

Agree2 Disagree0

Unbelievable .we have been sold out again to someone who doesn't have our interests at heart. how have Calgari flourished under this man? how can GFH sell out to someone who is known to have been convicted of fraud and how can the FL allow this man to pass their test of being FIT and PROPER.
It goes to show what he is already like insisting that Brian McD be sack the night before a match, if he had our interests at heart he would have done that Monday (albeit don't agree with Brian going) to at least give the team more time to get used to the idea Brian is going and hence be in a better frame of mind come a match. All fans should stay away from future matches this season in protest at what has happened!I know that doesn't help the team but how many times can we be kicked in the stomach and expect to be happy about it! hit them where it hurts in their pockets and perhaps someone might take notice. hopefully the Football League will come to our rescue and not allow this deal to go ahead because if they do sanction it they will be a laughing stock with their so called test to being FIT & PROPER!

"how can GFH sell out to someone who is known to have been convicted of fraud"

McDermott back in charge apparently.

What the hell is going on!

Believable9 Unbelievable6

If he is the the crowd should sing his name out for the whole of the match!!!
Brian was always on a 2 yr plan to get us upto the Premier league. and supposedly that is what GFH had planned. Yes we have lost games this season but you would expect to when rebuilding especially when your hands are tied as to what money is available for buying new players. It is typical of us Leeds fans to get over excited when we went on w inning run to expect us to go up this year! Brian had done most things right in getting the structure of our club on a better footing ie the training ground, the way the youngsters are closer to the playing team etc etc. So I for one am sad Brian is going as he was right for Leeds utd long term . cheer him as loud as you can if he is there today

Prospective Leeds owner Massimo Cellino claims he had “no choice” but to sack manager Brian McDermott. The controversial Italian businessman has placed former Middlesbrough and Portsmouth defender Gianluca Festa in charge for today’s derby at Elland Road against Huddersfield.
Cellino, 57, is close to taking a 75 per cent stake in the Championship club, subject to Football League approval. And Cagliari owner Cellino has taken no time in dispensing with the services of McDermott, just nine months into his three-year contract at Elland Road.
In an exclusive interview, Cellino said: “I spoke with Brian earlier in the week and gave him the chance for the challenge. I don’t know him, but told him I would be coming in and he would have the chance to build something special and work with a lot of money.
“In the end we didn’t have any choice though because he did everything to get fired. He gave me no choice.
“He started an argument with everyone. He was talking with the papers, with everyone, which was not fair. He made it impossible. I want a coach for the club, not a manager.”
Cellino was cagey when asked whether former Middlesbrough defender Gianluca Festa, a close ally, would be replacing McDermott at the Yorkshire club on a permanent basis.
“Gianluca is a nice guy but he wasn’t in my plans before all of this … Leeds are a special club who have had difficult times. But what is beyond question is that the club’s fans are very, very special.”
Festa, 44, turned up twice at Leeds’ Thorp Arch training ground this week to observe training. Cellino then ordered McDermott to allow Festa into the Leeds’ dugout for Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Ipswich, a request the manager refused. Festa also sat on the players’ table for lunch at the training ground this week.
Cellino blocked Luke Varney’s transfer to Blackburn, which had been signed off by McDermott. After the Ipswich game McDermott said: “This has been one of the most difficult periods I’ve had as a manager, especially the last few days.
“Some of the stuff that’s gone on has not been pleasant and it doesn’t belong in football in my opinion.”
These comments angered Cellino, as did McDermott’s decision to seek the help of the League Managers’ Association and decline the request for Festa to sit in the Leeds dugout.
Meanwhile, Enterprise Insurance have announced that they plan to withdraw their sponsorship of the club following the takeover and treatment of McDermott. Andrew Flowers, the company’s managing director, had been part of the Sport Capital consortium which had tried to take over the club.
The deal fell through when the consortium reduced its bid and the club’s owners, Gulf Finance House, pulled out and turned to Cellino, who was at Elland Road last night and faces massive fan protests against his involvement.
Cellino, an agricultural entrepreneur, has twice been convicted of fraud and there are doubts as to whether he would pass the Football League’s fit and proper person test. He claimed he was the highest bidder for West Ham in 2010 and also made enquiries about buying Crystal Palace. Very interesting and if true then we are in for a great future with money to spend for good players intstead of the rubbish we've been used to. Hopefully Varney plays today, he deserves the chance another a MOM performance against Leicester MOT

Agree2 Disagree0

Gfh capital, Salem Patel, hisham alrayes, and the lot of you, hang your heads in shame, Brian McDermott will always hold his head up high with great pride, very proud of all he has tried to achieve for all who truly care about about leed united football club and all the loyal and faithfully fans!

Agree1 Disagree1

When GFH came in and made Brian M our manager they always said it was 2 year plan to get into the premiership as we needed to be rebuilt. Brian has done everything right and has started building the club up from the bottom including the training ground, staff structure and is allowing our youngsters to get their chance. I know we Leeds fans always want success now BUT Brian was doing everything possible with the resources (& restrictions )open to him.
It is not Brians problem that GFH were never really equiped to invest and take forward a club like ours but knowing this they should be doing the next best thing and find a buyer who has our interests at heart ie the Farnan group which includes Lucas Radebe!.
How can the Italian sack our manager when he doesn't own the club until the FL approve it? how can someone pass the Football League’s fit and proper person test when he has been convicted of fraud etc?
I say bring back Brian, allow him to finish what he started ( yes I know we will lose games but that's what happens when you are building and not expecting to go up this year!) and let the Farnan led consortium take over as they represent our best interests and will certainly look after our youngsters and academy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Andrea Tabanelli signed on loan on the Cagliari web site. Their fans seem to be as upset as we are.

Agree0 Disagree0

According to Daily Snail the new owner states he wants a coach not a manager, and Uncle Festa in as a temporary solution. Maybe BMcD wasn't prepared to act in this capacity, I don't know but I guess there is going to be a different (European style) approach to running the footballing side of the club. Don't get me wrong, they way things have been portrayed doesn't read well, but I wasn't party to any conversations/meetings, and if correct BMcD was treated shoddily to say the least. The initial signs are interesting, if true, 6 million for RC turned down, and no one allowed to leave until a review of playing staff completed, sounds sensible. Time will tell, but wouldn't it be better to hold on a while, stop take a deep breath and wait and see what transpires, who knows, clearly the new owner (elect) has ambition you only have to look at what he has tried to do with Caligari, and he certainly appears decisive, something a sleeping giant needs to get it out of its slumber. I am looking forward with interest to the coming weeks/months.

A controversial owner for a controversial club, He might be just what we need, GFH have said he wants to buy back Elland road, and if we do a Watford and Loan in half of Caliagri at some point could be a decent opportunity, only disappointment is the Festa rumour, surely there is better.

Come on guys read with intelligence. FESTA is a YES man who simply does as he is told and will have NO decision making ability. Forget anything about a decent manager coming in. We will now be flooded with a series of Italian has beens and mercs who will be managed by the new family owners. Passionate fans care about the club, the manager and team. I guess were going to have to drop passion and sympathy and concentrate on giving these guys a hard time for results and be satisfied with that. About time some players had a kick up the A.

Ross's of to Cardiff in the summer

Believable7 Unbelievable25

{Ed013's Note - If I was a betting man I would put money on them being in the Championship next year}

Can't believe that. Think he will go somewhere much warmer for his summer holiday than Cardiff, possibly Miami to meet Cellino's family. Wonder who will select today's team and who our shirt sponsor will be.

Agree3 Disagree1

McCormack will only go if we are doing nothing[like last 10 years] Cellino could prove to be the money man we have been craving. Al will be forgotten if he spends a few bob. Get real. All the money men in any business are all crooked . Go on The Azzuri Leeds

Tonights about rembering mcdermott not other managers he could of been the next don revie he loved the club and the fans like don and had a vision of where we need to get too like don our loss is somebody elses gain I'd love for the fans to boycott a few games and not buy merchandise and for him to come back this feels like a nightmare

Agree3 Disagree4

That'ss an insult to the great Don Revie, BMD wasn't in the same league, get real!

Agree4 Disagree1

The next Don Revie! Look at recent results for whatever reason they've been shocking, any manager with that run of results must of expected the sack so don't make out he was turning things around. And saying he's the next next Don Revie. And if and when the new people come in I'll still support them and give them my support. And if they are Italian and they buy us, So what, if they have the money to buy our great club and that means brining in there own people so be it. If I won the lottery and brought the club I'd want my own people in, we all would. And as club captain should Ross of been on sky comenting on things, not a good example for the club captain to set.

Not won in 8 games, drawn at home to Barnsley who was bottom. Drawn at Blackpool who everyone is beating. Knocked out of cup against a league two side. hammered at wednesday. Our club wants waking up and this mad italian could just do this. Bring in Di Canio. let's go ------- mental.

Agree2 Disagree1

It was only a matter of time before he got the push, awful results, awful signings, awful team selection, for example against Sheff Wed brought in two (well below average so called wingers) and left 6 ft 6" striker on the bench and played alone striker McCormack who is 5 ft 8" on his tip toes, what was the point of two wingers?

Well if the Italian does take over, which I hope for our sakes he doesn't and the FL turn him down for not passing the FIT and Proper test due to being fraudulent, then I would be happy if Mr Zola became our manager or indeed Malky M
