If we are bought again, will bates still be made president?

Agree0 Disagree0

If we are sold again, he'll probably be the new owner.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates worst bit of business was the east stand/season ticket fiasco, however by buying back the club on the back of a flip (more money) surely even he not that mad!

Agree0 Disagree0

Depends on whether GFH paid him outright or actually still owe him money, in which case GFH will be forced to sell to him at his price, as they cannot sell what's not completely theirs?

Agree0 Disagree0

GFH own 100%. Bates is owed nothing in the deal.

So now we have it confirmed by GFH accounts that they are looking to flip us! see news now/reuters. This explains why no serious investment in Jan and why they not rushing to deal with Warnock, also real reason why Q&A session was cancelled! Onwards and upwards hopefully but could also mean we will miss out on best managers and possibly players if they don't get their fingers out! It does say negotiations are going on with someone though!

Believable16 Unbelievable3

Reuters report says GFH paid $33. 226 million for Leeds. Assets and Liabilities netted off in accounts under heading investment for resale. GFH looking for $ 10 million+ profit. Why not give Naylor charge till end of season with NW looking over his shoulder part time

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like we will be stuck with Warnock and this pile of crap for another season then, can't see GFH looking to make a profit on their investment and throwing more money into it.

Leeds are monitoring defender Kirk Broadfoots contract situation at Blackpool.

Believable10 Unbelievable24

Scraping the barrel so hard we'll be getting splinters.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh god I hope not. If he's the same guy that was at Rangers then he's terrible. gzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh great another freebie whoop frickin whoop. Jp

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers fans nicknamed him clubfoot!

Agree1 Disagree0

As a rangers and a leeds fan this is not what I want to see! was so happy to see "widehoof" leave rangers the last thing I want is to see him at leeds MOT SMACA1

Agree1 Disagree0

Let's all hope he signs a lovely new one at Blackpool. It's the least he deserves for being unwanted everywhere else.

Nigel Atkins is 4/7 Fav with WH to be next reading manager. I really feel he'd rarther manage leeds than Reading and let's face it, Reading will be in the championship next year. Come on GFH pull your finger out and get Atkins while he's still available or we will end up with southgate or even worse maclaren

Believable43 Unbelievable1

Appleton has just been sacked by Blackburn, GFH don't even think about it!! Lol

Agree2 Disagree1

Brian McDermott would be another good appointment.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, I think Adkins or McDermott would be a fantastic appointment but these guys will be snapped up quick so we can't sit on our hands like we usually do. I've lost count on the number of top class players we've missed out on because we're slow to act. If we fail to attract either of these guys then were not going anywhere I'm afraid. Come GFH stop hiding and start planning a future for our club. Why have you gone so quiet all of a sudden?.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you are remembering McClaren for his England career more than anything, which I admit was a flop, at club level he has a good record - Took Middlesbrough to the Europa league final (getting them into europe was an achievement in itself), FC Twente to a first league title and kept wolfsburg in the top ten of the german league (which is better than they are now). He plays good attacking football (Boro where exciting to watch, even if they did ship goals), brings in young talented players and you can laugh at his dodgy dutch accent. Would have him over Adkins any day, though Di Matteo would still be my number one.

Agree0 Disagree3

To the fourth poster, I can see where you coming from with McLaren but I disagree with Di canio he's a complete head case and can't treat players in the championship like he did at Swindon. He's far to emotional and is likely to fall out of favour very quickly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Canio? Totally agree mate, actually I said Di Matteo who I think could do a Ferguson or Wenger at the right club and be a top manager for a good number of years. Has all the right ingredients, brought some cracking young players to Chelski, just didn't get the time to let them settle. don't think he is an option unless we go up though.
Gummie {Ed001's Note - Di Matteo had no hand in choosing players that were brought in at Chelsea.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Boro were not exciting to watch under maclaren, we just had 3 immense strikers. some of our football was so conservative at times that despite the success, maclaren isn't held in particularly high regard by most boro fans

Agree0 Disagree0

What's Dom Matteo got to do with bringing players into Chelsea? Di McDermott for me

Agree0 Disagree0

Gus Poyet is favourite for the Reading job

Agree0 Disagree0

Boro did, indeed, have a couple of good strikers. Viduka and Hasselbaink.
Both pretty pointless for a lot of the season and didn't really work hard enough for the team but. on their day. by 'eck.
