The Yorkshire Post writes "Neil Warnock is aware that that Whites face a testing start to the new npower Championship season, but is hoping that rival clubs will also fear facing his men" a bit optomistic Neil, unless the whole Championship have erased last season from their memories. i hope he is right though. Robbo 77

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Relax all will be good Iam sure there are signings in place NW is a man on a mission!!

Agree0 Disagree0

NW knows something we dont otherwise he would of been gone last week

Look on SSN - even W*&ky Watford have had a takeover now - Its becoming a joke, didn't even know they were even in a takeover process
come on new LUFC owners show yourselves - were all fed up now - It's just like when you get a new car, great for about 3 weeks, then your bored and want another

Believable4 Unbelievable1

SSN Reports:- Watford have agreed a deal to transfer ownership of the Championship club to the Pozzo family.
The Italians, who own Serie A side Udinese and Spanish outfit Granada, have been strongly linked with a move for the Hornets in recent months - the key statement there is the "recent months" quote, takeovers take time and as a Leeds Fan you probably would not have heard about it before because we don't give a s*** about Watford. Have patience if a deal is being discussed regarding Leeds we will know when it is complete and not before.

Takeover/Paddy Kenny/Lee Peltier all completed this week!

White and Clayton to leave

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Clayton & White will not leave till takeover sorted, then they will revisit there personal positions!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Paddy Kenny just tweeted he has a big meeting tomorrow.

Agree0 Disagree0

Looking aT the tweets from clayton he looking forward to the season openener against wolves and he is in mexico for next 2 weeks so clytons going nowhere just yet

Agree0 Disagree0

I can honestly see Clayton staying, he'd be silly to leave as I doubt he's made a good enough name for himself so far to move anywhere better than Leeds, he could get more money but for a crap team. At least 2 more years at Leeds I think. Hope so anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Clayton is on his way to Mexico as I type this

Bernard Arnault reported to be a late bidder for the Leeds United takeover. This guy is loaded and plans to take Leeds to be the best team in England.
Warnock will be sticking around for promotion this year due to his reputation.

Expect to see Buzaky, Kenny and Fitz Hall in next week.

Warnock then wants Cameron Stewart and Robert Koren from Hull City

Believable9 Unbelievable10

This guy is worth 41 billion dollars, he is #4 in the Forbes list of Billionaires, just behind Bill Gates and sounds too good to be true.
If it is him Abramovich looks poor in comparison.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha ha that's the funniest one I've heard yet. I guess dior or mark Jacobs will be making the the kit and TAG sponsoring the kit, he the most French person I've ever read about I'm sure he'd rather buy one of their clubs.
LUFC spud

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow!
If this is true it would be the best thing for the club! Plenty of money to go back to the big time!

MOT
-WhiteForLife

Agree0 Disagree0

Much as I would like this to be true I would think that if he were to buy any club he would buy one in France personally. As I say I would love it to be true but cannot see it myself.
PeteMOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually he's worth 27.5B but the fact that he's French although adds yet another country to the long list of other countries of people who are supposed to be taking over us, would have thought he'd have gone after a French club like Paris st gemain as opposed to an English. That said I'd take him tomorrow as long as Bates goes

Agree0 Disagree0

To the above poster, he is "actually" worth 41 billion as stated before, check the Forbes list of millionaires, you can google it rather than make up your own non facts.

Agree0 Disagree0

41 billion DOLLARS is around 27.5 billion POUNDS - check the currency before trying to correct the first reply.

Agree0 Disagree0

My apologies, this fake rumour has got out of hand. I put this up yesterday and seems to have spread.

Agree0 Disagree0

Big French clubs, like clubs in the premier league, are way too expensive, buy a big club from the lower leagues at a bargain price, with the infrastructure to support the big time and the fraction of the cost..and make them huge... Best business practice...too many rumours though ...hope it's true..any of the linked buyers are worth a fortune...heres hoping

I work 4 leeds united superstore had a meeting this morning that leeds will be under new ownership by monday next week and the name john andrew henry forrest came up a few times dont no if this they guy we wont find out till bates want everyone to know he has net worth of 5.3 billion and in 2010 was the richest person in austraila slipped to 3rd in 2012 not saying am right but my money is on him as new owner

or neil warnock is set to leave leeds at end off season hope the give him longer

Believable6 Unbelievable12

John andrew henry forrest has no intention of buying leeds look on his wiki he states "on june 18th as reported on rumour sites about lufc he has no intention what so ever of buying lufc."

Agree0 Disagree0

2nd time this mans name has been mentioned today or you the poster from earlier. if not and your true best news ever

leetattmot

Agree0 Disagree0

P.s i know wiki is sometimes updated by ppl who no nothing but i believe this one unfortunatley

Agree0 Disagree0

Right so do you fancy leaving a name?... Only my GF does work there and knows absolutely nothing about this from her friends at work...

JP93

(I'll leave my details for ed(s) since I haven't yet, so long as this is kept safe and confidential) {Ed013's Note - always}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry just had another look on wiki n looks like someone else had edited the txt but still cant believe till happens

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this the same guy Tony Dorigo was assisting last year in a proposed takeover bid? if so, only good news going forward

the futures bright the future is certainly white

Woody

Agree0 Disagree0

Is name is forrest...forrest gump...Do you not think that even IF such a meeting took place, for certain it would be all over the national media by now. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would they have a meeting about a takeover with employees of the club shop?

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone can edit wiki mate, so supporters of rival clubs could put what they like, we will all have to wait and see, do not believe all you read.

Agree0 Disagree0

This rumour is true i too work at er and have been told about new ownership on monday

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load ov tosh!! Top secret takeover plans that absolutley no one in football, media or public no about has been discussed in a staff meeting at clubstore? seriously?

Agree0 Disagree0

Look, the guy is not known as John Andrew Henry Horrest. This is his full name and is never used apart from a well known web site called WP. In business dealings and in the press he is always called Andrew Forrest.

Nice try, but totally unbelievable, if you are going to create a rumour put a bit more effort in to it.

Agree0 Disagree0

You don't work for Leeds. And if you did you would not know that kind of info anyway. I know someone who works for LUFC and believe it or not doesn't know that much. And what they do know they are not allowed to reveal. Unless they want to lose their jobs. Unless you are one of the LUFC directors you know jack. Simple

Is no one else worried that as it stands now we have 23 players in our squad..

4 of them are linked with moves away (Snodgrass, White, McCormack and Lonerghan)

5 of them have been transfer listed (Connolly, O'Brien, Nunez, Paynter and Clayton)

5 of them are youth team graduates (N. Turner, L. Turner, S. Lenighan, Z. Thompson, C. Taylor)

Leigh Bromby is on the injury list for a few months and Davide Somma has just come back from a bad injury and yet to kick a ball.

"DOESN'T LOOK GOOD FOR US UNLESS SOMETHING BIG AND EXCITING HAPPENS AND FAST"

Believable15 Unbelievable7

No, not worried. The transfer window does not open while 1st July so we cannot buy anyone until then and we can't sell anyone until then. Not sure how we signed Pearce but it was something to do with Pompey being in administration. If we haven't signed anyone by 14th July not only will I panic but I will probably **** myself.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dam right, im currently looking for my shin pads and goalie gloves...just in case there is an open trial!

Agree0 Disagree0

No, season dosnt start on saturday! and i see all other champ' clubs have bought stacks of new players, not. time to judge is at the first game and not before.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares? Leeds will win the league with the youth team if we have too! There's 40,000 in the crowd, we're LEEDS UNITED and we're proud....

Agree0 Disagree0

We can actually buy players before the 1st July, The rule actually says...

In England, the transfer window formally opens on 1 July, transfers between clubs in the same association can take place as soon as the last competitive fixtures for the season have been played. However, many transfers will not be completed until 1 July because many players' contracts expire on 30 June.

Ken wants to save a months salary for any new player he signs and nobody will buy our offloads for the same reason.

Leeds to be bought out by Australian business man John Andrew Henry Forrest. Net worth $5.3 billion!

Forrest wants to fund Neil Warnock fast. He's looking to get promotion this season.

Warnock would like to sign Chris Herd and Fabian Delph from Aston Villa

Believable7 Unbelievable14

Warnock is staying put mate.

Who are you talking about, Leeds or forest?

Sussex White, MOT!

Here we go again, in alphabetical order.
Australia, Bahrain, Canada, China, Kuwait, Sainsbury(Britain?), U.S.A x 2
Have I forgotten any?
Let's all throw a nation into the hat and see who's story is most beleivable. :@)
Someones going to get it right and say,"I told you so, check my post".
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

...and another thing, there is no way that we could possibly gain promotion with the calibre of player you mention.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

This would be nice... He got 5.3 billion dollars that is for sure!! so could this be true knowing us Leeds fans luck we will end up with steptoe and son.. Haaaaaarold

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder what it is about people who post on forums, things that they have made up?

Agree0 Disagree0

Really nice when people tell you where they got there information. If your goin to lie atleast lie straight. That storys benter than a New Penny glass collecter.
Keep trying you never know, schools finished now, you might get some followers.
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

Now if had mentioned this guy you might have got some credability to your STORY!
Mr Football

Frank Lowy might have a head for business, but his heart is in Australian football. The man who has made his money through the Westfield Group is currently Chairman of the Football Federation Australia. He's the A-League's biggest supporter and the driving force behind Australia's ill-fated bid to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It's how he's made his money that primarily interests us here, but one feels that Frank's Lowy's primary interest, these days anyway, is the beautiful game. now he is even richer ~$6.47 billion, and crazy about football, the other guy appears to have non. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

YAWN !

Well that just leaves us needing an investor from Antartica and we've covered all continents.
If that happens we could have Pingu on the wing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Next you will be telling me that he is related to Kylie Minogue who will lead halftime entertainment singing we should be so lucky lucky lucky :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Sussex white: he's talking about leeds. the guy is called Forrest. cant you read?

Agree0 Disagree0

Living down under its not often I can make a contribution to discussions on this site. "Twiggy" Forest has shown no interest in Football down here and buying Leeds would add no value to his business (the only other reason he would do it), so I see no reason why he would be interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

Australian connection not so far fetched. Our profile is still quite high, down-under. We're fondly remembered for our employment of a certain Mr Kewell and Mr Viduka, in their prime. We also had a few other (then) promising Aussie youth players... football memories are long.

Huddersfield manager Simon Grayson will make a £1.5million move for Leeds forward Ross McCormack.

Believable12 Unbelievable16

Rumour is they had a massive bust up with each other last seaso n so doubt it

Agree0 Disagree0

They will need to offer more than that.if they offer 3 mil we cant turn them down so i would think we will hold out for 2.5 mil

Agree0 Disagree0

Hehe, he knows how Santa does business. Scary thing is I can see this being accepted :s

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack is not desperate, if he leaves better offers will come in than Huddersfield for goodness sake.

Agree0 Disagree0

I could only see this happening if Ross goes as part of a deal to bring Jordan Rhodes to ER.

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack in last year of his contract, so don't expect £2.5m. Also, unless takeover & lots of funding is provided quickly, I cannot see us being in a position to tempt Huddersfield with enough cash to release Rhodes!

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack would not go to Huddersfield as a player anyway, despite the fact he has no confidence in Grayson. Huddersfield will be relegation candidates next season and will spend most of their games defending, hence no quality players will wish to join them.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Simon Grayson has put a bid in for Ross, he is just wasting his time. Ross hated him at Leeds and often kicked off with him and didn't agree with his decisions to start him on the bench while he was on a great run etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am informed through a source close to Elland Road that Ken Bates has now sold the club and will not be returning. the takeover is by a Bahrain based company, not US not Chinese. I so hope my source is correct. An announcement should be made sometime this week. MOT

Huddersfield manager Simon Grayson will make a £1.5million move for Leeds forward Ross McCormack. this is in the daily mirror. if ross goes to them just goes to show we really aren't as big a club as i thought we were. bates pull your finger out and accept a bid so we can start adding quality to our squad, the season will soon very quickly come round. mot kieran

Believable8 Unbelievable10

They had a massive fall out last season so doubt it and ross wants to play in opremiership so cant see this rumour happening

Agree0 Disagree0

If Ross Mccormac goes to Huddersfield it would show his lack of ambition in my veiw. Is he that good anyway?
Leeds are a big club lets not all forget that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him go, he dosnt want to play for us anyway, cant wait for take over, then these who wont sign will be the sorry ones, ha ha

Speaking to a mate, who specialises in business acquisitions, over the weekend (NOT involved in LUFC in any way shape or form) about the supposed take-over/ investment, and his opinion was that either of these options will take at least another 3 months to complete if the due diligence is being done correctly, and given the errors in accounts questioned by LUST and the vagaries about who actually owns ER/TA his own thought was there will in all likelihood be NO money for NW to spend until Jan window. (expect Loan signings folks or short term contracts given to freebies) He also said that if this was a takeover then the likely sticking points will be
How the new investor gets to put money into the team without contravening the new fair play rules. thats why there is a lot of rumour about naming rights etc.
Meeting an agreed asking price for Bates et al after the due diligence is completed, because given the value of the club assets and the debt taken on from the stand redevelopment (all in public domain in accounts) our club is literally in business terms worthless and the only payment he would recommend was a goodwill payment for the business as it stands

Believable5 Unbelievable10

Your friend is wrong its only worthless when our saleble assets have gone ie players

Agree0 Disagree0

My work means i get involved in this kind of thing from time to time and i would agree with the timescales your friend has said, what i would say though is we don't know how far down the line it all was when the club made a statement, it could have been a couple of months or more into the process then.....here's hoping!

al1977

Agree0 Disagree0

If you dont know the facts then no point summising

Agree0 Disagree0

The fair play rules don't come in affect until 2013/14 season so wouldn't be a problem this year

Agree0 Disagree0

Negotiations could have been going on for ages without us knowing. Even if the process does take months, who's to say they werent negotiating from back in Feb/March time?

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play rules and the FA mean absolutely nothing in business. If someone wants something bad enough they will simply use every manipulative business method to get a deal done and get what they want. U think KB was upfront and disclosed everything to FA about his business or told them who actually owns Leeds Utd ? To this day can you tell me who owns the club ? Deals will be struck regardless, if they really want the club and they will finance anyway they want.

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon its a few months now. does anyone else remember the little outburst ken bates gave when he was quoted as saying "if there's anyone out there willing to take up the challenge and invest money in leeds united, then it's time you put your money where your mouth is and show us your money/intentions?? or words to that effect.
i think this was before or just after xmas but before the january transfer window?? if a potential investor/buyer has heard this, they would have been on the phone straight away. so these talks have potentially been going on since january/february?? anyone else hear the same rant from bates??
cannot remember if it was on the radio, telly or might have been in one of his matchday programs??

Agree0 Disagree0

A good will payment of a substantial amount is not to be sniffed at is it, he took over the debt, restructured it, took us to the brink of the playoffs so a nice little 5/10m at 80 years old is good business in my book.

Agree0 Disagree0

How does your 'mate' know when the take over started ? if he doesnt know, how can he say it will take another 3 months, rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

In response to some of the posts above, given that we were only shooting the breeze over a few beers and taking the timescale from the "leak by LUST" and the statement that there are/ were 2 or 3 interested parties its a safe assumption to make that nothing concrete had happened at that time, also given that a firm of lawyers was appointed 2 weeks ago to start due dilligence means it is potentially another 2 to 3 months before anything will happen if done right

Leeds will not make an announcement of take over until after Warnock has signed all his targets. No point saying we have a £20m investment (naming rights, advertising, etc to stay within the fair play rules) only for the price of targets to double. Be patient. JD

Believable14 Unbelievable14

There wont be any transfer fees paid untill the investment takeover is made simple as if no invesrtment is coming it will be another season of quantity ove quality evn if we sell our transfer listed players warnockk will not be allowed to invest all the money back into the squad milky

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely the amount will go up DOUBLE as you say anyway! because anyone whose anyone knows we are in talks or what ever is going on with our club! As nobody outside of BATES dungeon, knows the real truth as of yet,and as normal in bates reign we the fans are treated like mushrooms! Come on bates give us something to warm our hearts for once!! Wingy(mk)MOT for life

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely if the investment is forthcoming, wouldnt it not be better to hang fire on any transfers until Warnock has the funds? That way he could go after better players than he is currently looking at.

Agree0 Disagree0

The price will be doubled regardless of if the investment is announced or not. To sign a player at some point in negotiations it's going to be mentioned who the buying club is. Also seeing as Leeds have in the past few years got free or loan players in, the caliber of players Leeds can go for after investment will need a decent fee to be paid which will be a deviation from previous years so will tip the selling teams off that we now have some money again increasing the price.

Agree0 Disagree0

Irrelevant whether investment comes in or not, clubs up their prices when Leeds come knocking.also if other clubs comes in for the same player the price generally goes up.

Agree0 Disagree0
