We currently have arguably the most skilled player in the championship (Hernandez) and arguably the best DM (Bridcutt) . If we brought in a player of Delphs quality with those two I think we would hands down have the best midfield by a decent way.

Add that to the best CB pairing and that 6-7 point gap to the top two doesn't look far away at all, especially with Gayle and Mitrovic both out injured for Newcastle. As for Vieira, Martyn, the more quality we surround him with now, the better he will become, won't do the lad any harm to work alongside a player of that calibre.

Have to agree with MartynG . we've got young Kalvin and Ronaldo, Delph would be benchwarming :) how nice to say that ;)

Think you are correct Gummie as we look with one eye on promotion we would need to have players with premiership experience and quality certainly to help us stay there and not bounce straight back down and Delph certainly has that injury permitting.

Hernandez and Bridcutt would improve every team in the league, the fact that we did so well without them is a testament to how well the boys are playing and the job Monk and Clotet are doing. Delph would be a quality signing, but it seems too big a jump from Man City to Championship. PL clubs would be interested if he's available.

You can't keep everyone happy gumming, delph won't want to be on bench as won't bridcut or Vieira so at some point someone's going to say I wanna leave. Now who would you like that to be? Our captain? Or the best young player in the league by a country mile or a great player who spends a lot of time injured on silly wages that would probably split the dressing room because he won't come cheap.

Sorry but there is no room for delph, he wanted to join city knowing he wouldn't play much so for me he can stay there n get paid for doing nothing, we probably do need a back up but no need for 1 on so much money, we have Ronny and Liam and no one is going to push them out of the team any time soon

Don't agree with the above comment about Kalvin. Very overrated player who struggles with the pace of the Championship. Delphi would do us no harm in there instead😏

Not talking a perm transfer Martyn, Pep wants to keep him, just loan him out to get match fit again (similar to Wiltshere this season) , just doesn't want to loan him to a rival in the prem. I think Vieira will be a big player in the future but he will become stunted if he doesn't train with other players of a higher level. We could probably get Delph on a short term and not have to pay a penny, if he gets injured he goes back, no harm no foul. Can also play at AM so gives us cover for Hernandez in that position. Hernandez, Bridcutt, Delph in the league - Philips, O'Kane, Vieira in the cup, looks good to me.

im surprised there is no Premier League suitor for Delph. He would improve a lot of teams in the lower half of the table, surely.

Kelvin Phillips overated? How? Everyone knows bridcutt and Ronny are better than him but he's a quality player himself who has done little wrong when he's played.

I think we're full up on this position. I'm personally salivating at the idea of Hernandez, Bridcutt and O'Kane in the same midfield 3. Then add to that Viera and Kalvin and a resurgent Mowatt (Maybe unlikely this though) and I really don't see a place for Delph. I'd trust Diougaraga to turn in more games than Delph. It's a no from me.
