Heard Kieron Dyer wants to bring back his career & train with Leeds United to try & revive his football career in a lower league with the possibility of making it back into the Top League within the next few years.... MOT :-D

Believable12 Unbelievable54

Hope he comes, but can't see it somehow.

Agree0 Disagree1

Seriously? The guys 34-35 think it's a bit late for a come back,

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jan 2013 07:23:40
Revive his career? lmfao!! he's 34 and time to retire, this for leeds united would be a step backwards, NO THANKS go to huddersfield please!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Seriously why bag out this guy for he would probably be the best talent to come to the club since el hadj diouf, what we have 1 international who plays for jamaica wtf stop whinging & complaining if anyone wants to come to leeds with half of the talent that dyer has or had we would welcome them & get off your high horse wow leeds have been taken over but hold on its not by the likes of the people who own man city or psg or sop & so on get over it leeds are building & if they can have someone of that caliber & talent so what if he has had injuries it doesn't mean he has no talent or can't make a contribution to a team in a bad league in which Leeds are, i have been a leeds supporter for a long time & have seen worse pathetic people play for leeds who everyone on this page has talked up so stop destroying confidence in people & let them enjoy the game they love to play & we love to watch

Agree0 Disagree0

Anything has to be better then brown he's 35 or 36 and still plays so why not give dyer a shot only thing that is worrying is he is injury prone and is waste of wages money

Agree0 Disagree0

IF (and granted its a big if) Dyer can stay fit for a run of matches, he has the ability to be a great improvement on our team. He is a class act and could tear it up at Championship still...age is irrelevant these days, look at Giggs and Scholes still doing it at Prem level, if he signs (would have to be pay as you play deal) would be good for the club imo

Agree0 Disagree0

Dyer was a fantastic player and if he has still retained half the skills and talent then he would be a great signing on a pay as you play basis.

Gary Hooper flying to Leeds to discuss a move & 28k per wek wages

pm

Believable15 Unbelievable96

We have more chance of signing Tommy Cooper than Gary Hooper!

Get a grip!

Agree2 Disagree0

Do we really have that sort of money to spend on wages? Sounds like this one wants to jump on the gravy train. Not for us

Agree0 Disagree1

Rubbish. We can't afford 28k.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought you were serious till you mentioned 28K wages, presumably that would be per YEAR then?

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard his plan hit a pig on the way....

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would anyone seriously say that they believed this until they seen the 28k wages.

it was a lie when he mentioned Gary hooper. no chance of signing him. get real man. championship hoofball or champions league. hmmmm such a tough one.

get real with your 'rumours'

Agree0 Disagree0

This is so 'Unbelievable' it's actually laughable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich want him, why would he come to Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

We missed our chance for him first time round. Many of us knew what a great signing he would be but Ken wouldn't stump up the dollar. No chance now. No chance of anyone decent coming to Leeds for a while.

Agree0 Disagree0

Laughed so much seeing this. I would love to see it happen but the reality that many of us wise old birds know is that this runour is a non starter and simply illustrates your completely foolish naivity in making this statement.

Reo Coker training with Leeds with a view to signing for us....Also heard Warnock trying to sign Frasier Campbell, but several Premiership teams also trying to snap him up....WATCH THIS SPACE! MARCHING ON TOGETHER!

Heard Leeds have been linked with a loan move for Spurs left-back Zeki Fryers? Used to play for Man.Utd but Ferguson hates him so I'm sure he'd be a hit with the fans.

Also, slightly old news but Jose Baxter renewed his contract at Oldham. Fair play to the lad wanting to play first team football, refreshing to see, shame we missed out on him though.

Believable12 Unbelievable23

Do we really want a utd reject?

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember seeing this lad play a few years back looked class then it would be a quality signing if we could get him.Just imagine the look on Fergies face!

Agree0 Disagree0

He wasnt a man you reject he let his contract run out, but tottenham didn't want to pay compo so let him to to standard leige and them signed him from them 6 months after

Agree0 Disagree0

The same Zeki Fryers they only signed a couple of weeks ago from Standard Liege?

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2013 11:40:31
We can't sign him I'm sure you can't be at 3 clubs in the same transfer window and he has already been at 2.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2013 22:06:30
There won't be much money as gfh are just hoping we scrape the playoffs but there will be a considerable amount next season. I guess they don't want to waste money if we can make it with little input there will be more for next year. Hope this is true.

Believable17 Unbelievable28

No longer any faith in dfs.Scarry situation.We are at their mercy.Begining to wonder what we've let ourselves in for. {Ed001's Note - me neither, the last time I bought a sofa there it fell apart in a couple of months! I will never place my faith in DFS again.}

qpr will let faulin go once harry completes signing of yann m'villa

Believable48 Unbelievable8

I believe this but we won't get him, not after Palermo had a big offer turned down

Agree0 Disagree0

That was a loan offer

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with this post - very likely and qpr say the mvilla deal will be done within 2 weeks

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2013 18:32:29
Its not faurlin or cisse or mackie or any other qpr player we are after.. believe it or not our main target is damien duff from fulham! my cousin works in a london casino and got chatting to a few fulham players (not duff) and one of them (schwartzer) strongly hinted that duff is wanted by leeds and that duff would be keen as his dad was a leeds fan. true story although i expect not everyone will believe it.

Believable30 Unbelievable51

His contract is probably coming to an end at Fulham, he's 33, can he do a job for Leeds on a much lesser salary ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Nah mate - it's riise we're after.

Agree1 Disagree0

RIISE and DUFF ? I for one will be happy with that. Not brilliant or spectacular but it will do for now

Agree2 Disagree0

Despite his age, duff would be a great signing in my eyes. I'd be happy with that and if true about riise too that would be a solid left side who already can play well together and know each others game

Agree0 Disagree0

Great player, loads of experience, would like to see him at elland rd.Just what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard from a mate in the know about duff as well. would be a great signing if we can pull it off. great crosses for becchio if he still there.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only duff I see is some of the stuff on here.

And the only duff I rate is the beer that Homer quaffs.

Too old, AGAIN!
MOT
Excroggywhite

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny that... my physio mentioned he'd been told Leeds had enquired about Duff ages ago - this was before the loan deadline & before we signed Thomas.

My physio is well connected in the game & knows a few people. Maybe there's something in this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Riise scored some great goals against Leeds... 12/13 years ago... when he was playing for Liverpool. Dont expect mobility with either Duff or Riise

Agree0 Disagree0

It's Sunderland actually

Cant see him getting in the side.We have enough bench warmers.

leeds after louis saha free from sunderland

Believable33 Unbelievable46

One word.......wages!!

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Jan 2013 17:14:48
agreed wages would be huge! but he would be a quality player for us in the championship, proven goalscorer in the premier league- go for it warnock!

Agree0 Disagree0

Free from spurs you mean

Agree0 Disagree3

Another oldie?

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs? Is that another name for Sunderland, last time I checked he had signed for them?

Agree0 Disagree0

He moved to sunderland in the summer after arry signed him for spurs on a 6 month contract from eveton last jan and o neil wants danny graham.great move if he could stay fit.

Agree1 Disagree0

Would be a great signing for us if he is fit. p.s......free from sunderland

Agree1 Disagree0

No Sunderland

Agree0 Disagree0

Is their any substance in this woeful rumour at all or do people just read that a player has been told he can leave their club (which is the case here) and suddenly magic up a link with LUFC. Come on guys what's the point... this rumour is ridiculous

Agree1 Disagree0

From what i understand from the termination of his contract he is not allowed to sign for another premier league club but is free to join a championship or lower league team. I can't see him joining Leeds though as his wage demands even with the new owners would be considerably more than any Leeds player at the present. should Becchio leave which seems to be becoming common knowledge I would guess we could use the transfer fee to cover Saha's wage costs. So not a bad idea in fairness, I just doubt it at the present with the other targets NW has in mind he woulldnt fit in.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought he was going to a south american club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Over the hill, bit of a gamble.

Agree0 Disagree0

Going to a team in South Africa I read so not coming to Leeds, shame

Agree0 Disagree0

If the majority of our "targets" prove to be true, I am going to have to rename GFH to

Geriatrics For Hire, wages paid by Leeds.

Someone involved with another championship club told me Leeds had approached Norwich about striker Morrison.
Let Becchio go for 3 million, we all no he aint a prem striker but good luck to him he deserves a chance.

Believable22 Unbelievable37

This would be an exceptional signing whether Becchio stays or not (going nowhere imo)
Goal every 2 games merchant is Morison, wasted on their bench.
Morison, see Davies and Faurlin/Dorrans = promotion imo

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2013 16:43:59
3 million not enough for becchio at this time of yr.Im quite sure becchio will score goals at prem league level.stick him in a team that gets plenty of crosses in to box and he would score 20 goals as some of his goals have been class

Agree0 Disagree0

Morrison hasn't done anything this season for norwich, i know it a higher level but there is nothing to show that he is in any type of goal scoring form, i'd rather keep becchio

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2013 14:04:10
becchio is a qaulity player he probably could go to a mid table side like swansea or somthing.

No word of a lie, but im not supposed to tell you this but my uncle mick goes fishing with karl henry every 14th of january and he says he loves leeds and would welcome the chance to move to ellend road to play with his boyhood hero el hadj diouf

Believable9 Unbelievable42

So we would have 5 midfielders all in the same mould!

Agree0 Disagree0

Boyhood hero I am sure there's only a couple of years difference in age between the two. Think you spent to much time in the cold on the 14th

Agree0 Disagree0

Good old uncle mick!!!!

Only another 363 days til your uncle gets to see Karl again. Kaaaaarl!!!!!!

Agree1 Disagree0

That's bizarre 'cos I've got an Uncle Mick and he often goes fishing with his best mate whose name is Henry Carl! Neither of them like football though!

Agree0 Disagree0

That's complete rubbish because my uncle collin takes karl bowling every January the 14th and he's said on many occasions that he cannot stand boring fishing, although he did admit to wanting to go to leeds to play alongside his boyhood hero!

Remy to QPR. Hulse, Campbell, Mackie or Hoilett (loan) to Leeds now closer.
Need MVila to do the same then Derry, or in particular Faurlin will be fair game.
Pals a taxi driver and whilst driving NW he found out Hoilett and Faurlin ARE on our radar.
Harry on the other end of the phone stated "let me see who I can get in first then get back to me" - fact. - Rids, Pudsey

I think they may ve had a conversation after the phone call? After all he was driving NW to Bodmin (his home) from ER.
Also a Belgian striker was mentioned but I couldn't find any in the QPR squad so had a slight doubt....

clint hill - qpr
anton ferdinad - qpr
dicko - wigan
howson - norwich
dawson - wba

robinson - blackburn
pennant - stoke
jerome - stoke
boyd - pet'brough
harte - reading
mcgugan - notts forrest
can guaratee none of the above will be at leeds by end of january.

outs
pugh + poleon - bury, preston,
conolly - preston (done deal)
rodgers - (free) done
nunez - (free - possible)
white - (bolton or hull )
mcCormack - (palace, villa, s'hampton)
becchio - wigan, forrest,

expect sales to be made before end of transfer window.

surprises me that mccormack was a top goal scorer last year and white was begged to sign a new deal and they sit on the bench for most of the season. {Ed013's Note - Nunez would sue if he was released as he is injured, however the Michael Johnson bit at the top put a smile on my face!}

Believable8 Unbelievable28

First dorrans is valued at 3.5, no way will leeds pay that and if they did i would still not like it as that's far 2 much for him but a prem team want him for that price, howson was rubbish so dnt need him back, jerome is 2 good, boyd is very overrated, anton ferdinand is 2 good, dawson will find a prem team, if these really are rumours then people are going to be very sad at who we do end up buying as most of these are too good 4 champ football

Agree0 Disagree0

You must be playing truant again to write so much but at least you've had an essay practice.

Agree0 Disagree0

For once I agree with Joey Barton - 'So sad. He had the world at his feet.'

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2013 12:33:47
bye bye becchio.
looks like rumours are true to the surface that he has lost paitiance with NW more like confidence.
29 years of age i would not stand in he's way of maybe a last chance to play prem football. i think we all would do it
ross mccormack is geting to he's best again we hope

Believable15 Unbelievable23

If it's Wigan, it is a poor move : they look to be coming down our way

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio was home last night, not in bournemouth, as he has said himself, he turned up but was sent home by the doc, warnock doesnt want him gone and he hasn't asked for a transfers, just personic rumours

John Arne Risse and Jay Bothroyd both on their way to Leeds. You heard it here first!

Source: Brown

Chesney

Believable30 Unbelievable31

Good luck with Bothroyd if you get him, he is by far the laziest player I have seen on a football pitch, i'm glad his loan at SWFC was terminated.

Agree1 Disagree0

Would be nice

Agree0 Disagree0

I know that Riise is availeble, according to norwegian newspaper

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take riise, he is getting on, but could still cut it in this division.

Agree2 Disagree0

Would love riise. Suprised Warnock hasnt tried to sign Simeon Jackson..

Agree1 Disagree0

Bothroyd is garbage...lazy, a clown and billy big time. Just the sort of player we don't want. Yeah he scored for QPR last night but his only good game for SWFc was against us!

Riise I'd take.

Agree1 Disagree0

Riise is better than any defender we currently have or are looking at - so that's a no brainer for me. Bothroyd I would give a wide berth - one of the worst players in all divisions. The boy undoubtably has talent, just can't be bothered to show or use it.

Time for NW to go I think - never seen as much hoofing in my life - makes me ashamed to be a Leeds fan.

Don't want to stir up the rumour mill on this one again but word is going around down here (Brighton) that Mackail-Smith is once again coming to us, this has nothing to do with what happens to Becchio as I have no info on that just rumours on CMS from in and around the Amex Comm Stadium.

If this is to be the case can we please try and sign Will Buckley while we are at it, he is talented, skilful and consistant.

Heard we are interested in Dicko from Wigan, he looked lively for Blackpool earlier in the season and certainly wouldn't turn him down if the opportunity arose.

And as for the shouts of "Warnock out" well I am a little surprised at this, firstly get GFH to dip into their pockets, if they can't spend the money to improve the squad how is that Warnocks fault, we have signed average players so far because he has'nt been given any significant funds to use.

MOT SussexLeeds

Believable35 Unbelievable16

The reason why it is Warnock's fault is that it is his team. He bought all of these average journey men. He constantly plays players out of position and to cap it all when he does finally bring in a quality midfielder (lad from Everton) his tactics are for our back four to miss out the midfield entirely with "John Smith style 'ave it" clearances

Agree1 Disagree0

I think the Warnock out is not only down to frustration in that Warnock keeps saying he's bought a fighter and someone who gives 100% and then that's not what we see on the pitch. For myself I don't like the very clumsy and underhand way he and his assistant manager tried to "sell" Becchio and then try to alienate him from the club by publicly blaming him alone for an utterly abject performance by Warnocks team. I understand Warnock saying certain things to motivate his team. I understand he hasn't the money to buy better players and we keep getting frustratingly close to a play off place but frankly he's being dishonest about Becchio and the team has lost games it never should have.

I'd be ok with Warnock being sacked now. He's had long enough and has been a failure. The crowds aren't just down to Bates now they're dwindling away because of crap football and crap excuses from the manager.

Fawksey

Agree1 Disagree0

If they won't spend money, you're right, that isn't Warnock's doing....

However, the abysmal hoof it and chase it hit and hope style of football most definitely is !

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting post, i think the reason for the warnock is the manner and style of which the team is performing, it appears to be long ball tactics, where we don't really have the players to play that way, which is ridiculous as warnock brought a lot of these players in.

secondly he only has a contract til the end of the season, i think that we have missed the boat as far as promotion is concerned, so why give him more money to spend, when in all likeliness he will be gone at the end of the season. they may aswell hold on to the cash and give it to a new manager who can launch a promotion push next season

Agree0 Disagree0

It's his fault because he's wasted the cash he has had on medicrity and worse...Peltier, Varney, Tonge for example. No game changers there and the football he asks people to play is from a bygone age. Out of his depth and out of the club if Bristol (and O'Driscoll) smash us on Saturday. He is nothing but a self publicist, his comments at Barnsley were crass and sum him up...arrogant and full of himself...it's all about Colin and nothing to do with LUFC going up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gus Poyet did say CMS would not be sold unless he had a replacement. Well he's just signed that Striker from Almeria ain't he? This could possibly happen with CMS you never know i guess.

Whether or not Becchio is staying i really don't know. He's a Leeds idol and although he aint the best player in the Championship, Leeds idolise him (I know i do)

Lets just wait and see what happens fellow fans! MOT

Lee

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio is awful. Can't move, can't pass, dribble, shoot or stay on his feet.... He is holding us up and is the root cause of our hoofball problem.

Up until this yeaterday I had heard Karl Robinson, MK Dons, was the new manager GFH were targeting. However if stories are correct he is going to Blackpool. Shame as he is a good young manager who gets MK playing nice attractive football while still being fairly solid at the back.

Also I don't believe that NW only has the weekends game to save his job he will be here till the summer. Any new manager will want to spend money and GFH don't want to open the cheque book till the summer when they hope to have a new permanent manager in. Rumours are that the man they want is currently employed so they want to wait so any compensation they pay is less.

Believable21 Unbelievable20

I agree warnock will be here untill the summer and we will be in the exact same position now next season simple fact any manager needs time to asses his squad and then identify targets if we going to get a new manager we actualoly need him in round about march so hehas games left to asses squad and get his players in time for p0re season
