Kevin Keegan - New Manager

Believable15 Unbelievable51

''would 'LOVE IT' if we got him - just love it '' wont happen sadly - he'd walk after 6 weeks with Bates

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance - can only work with huge budget and buy success. Get back to your colouring book

bates says no McCarthy so looks like clark

Believable20 Unbelievable32

Clark has to be better than Mcarthy or Warnock. How many games have Huddersfield lost under him. Bring it on I say.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates DIDN'T actually say no to McCarthy, he said he hadn't contacted him, there's a world of difference. He just denied the Daily Mail's blatant 'statement' that the job HAD already been offered to McCarthy, I'm actually surprised he's not suing them for libel...... (yet!)

If he hasn't contacted McCarthy in any way then he obviously hasn't said NO or YES or anything else to him......

Same as Clark, I expect, especially considering Clark was still gainfully employed up to a couple of hours ago.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates has not ruled out McCarthy, hes just responded to newspaper reports that he has contacted him,he didnt actually say hes ruled him out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken wont pay McCarthys wages, or Warnocks or anyone other than a recently 'sacked' league 1 manager. Forget the big boys, ken likes to dip his greasy hands in the bargain bin at all levels.

Agree0 Disagree0

The original poster here is typical of that vast majority of the population who read the first few words of a sentence in a newspaper and then jump to a conclusion about what the rest of the sentence is.

please read articles before you comment on them.

thank you

Agree0 Disagree0

Why does anyone continue to believe bates!!,he lies all the time, he has no interest in getting promoted,we had the chance last season and this but yet we go backwards when we get close, why take us up when we can carry on paying over the top to watch dross,we must unite against him and boycott it's the only way,or we will be stuck with him forever,he now says we are trying to buy back the ground, yeah right just like thorpe arch, god why do we keep letting him shaft us,stand together or fall apart,we MUST UNITE,MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

What a tard! Why do we need a division 1 failed manager which draws matches? Bates been a typical yorkshiremen tight....

Agree0 Disagree0

He didn't say we were wanting to buy back the ground, he said that the Chelsea supporters wanted to get together £15 million to buy the ground and took 10 years to raise £1.5 million. You need to listen not just hear want you want to hear. I would be very surprised if his backers don't already own the ground anyway when the present owners Teak Trading an offshore trust based in the British Virgin Islands bought it from Barnaway in 2006. He uses Leeds United money to add value to a ground owned by his backers and they in the future when Bates has gone sell it back to the club for a nice profit

simon Grayson to be new manager of Huddersfield town as he as experience in getting out of league 1

Believable38 Unbelievable8

Why is this a leeds rumour?? grayson is history (thank god!) let it go people

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont agree with the guy above. grayson turned down aston villa when leeds manager so hardly think hes gunna go to huddersfield. people in the game know his worth, look forward to see him managing a good championship/premiership club in the near future

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes good at building an attacking side, granted, but his defensive signings are atrocious.

look at o'dea,o'brien, collins, naylor, bromby, mccartney the list goes on...

i reckon he'd be a good assistant manager though, but you need someone with balls who can get a team to defend and make the opposition terrified to be boss.

Lee clark sacked as huddersfield manager source ssn

Believable16 Unbelievable4

15 Feb 2012 13:42:45
Leeds are blatantly getting Lee Clark. He has been "sacked". Why sack a manager when they are on course for promotion. I reckon Bates has offered Huddersfield a little bank hander through the Monaco bank accounts

Believable10 Unbelievable24

Why sack him? It means they have to pay compensation, if he was on his way to Leeds, we would have to pay compensation? Doesn't make sense, someone putting two and two together?

Agree0 Disagree0

Where do you think Grayson will end up eh?
A straight swap. Grayson has a proven track record for getting out of league 1, Clark has a proven track record of being nothing but an average Newcastle midfielder.
Another fine mess Ken will get us into.

Agree0 Disagree0

They aren't on course for promotion, they've dropped into 4th place now, not in the auto's anymore!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather be in THEIR position (obviously in OUR league!) than where we are now?

Fourth spot would be more than acceptable right now.......

... how can you say they won't get promotion at this stage, when they are in 4th place??

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would clark come to leeds side that wouldnt make the league one play offs nevermind the championship play offs

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you say they are on course for promotion? We don't know, all I said was that they're not on course, I didn't say they will definitely not get promoted!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fact is they are 4th........not a bad position to be in?

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope they rot in div 1 anyway just like the Sheff clubs, they hate us and love us to fail, flip em.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Huddersfield chairman asked Clark if he applied for the leeds job, he said yes, he was sacked....

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want him, achieved nothing with a large league 1 budget, must look for better.

Agree0 Disagree0

More likely he was sacked so they could get grayson in. If he went to leeds they would be getting compensation - the original poster doesnt make any sense

Agree0 Disagree0

Lee Clark has left Huddersfield. On his way to Elland Road?

Believable13 Unbelievable13

Whats lee clark ever won dont want him thanks but no thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair, he's only a young manager, and the first trophy has got to come somewhere. Why not here?

We need an experienced manager that will stop us from being pushovers! Grayson did a good job for us, but we were too inconsistant under him. We'd get a good win followed by two poor defeats. He made some poor transfer decisions i.e. selling Schmiechel because "we need to stop conceding goals"! We should have kept him and replaced the poor defenders that we STILL have. We need a Warnock character (as much as i don't like him) who will make opposing teams earn a win rather than us rolling over. If players don't give 100% they will soon know about it.
As for Bates.....he did buy us when know one else would and he has also put us in a position where we are no longer losing money! Now we are stable we need to start building. If he is not willing to do this then he needs to step aside!

Believable22 Unbelievable2

A good win followed by two poor defeats? think if you looked at his record properly you would find the fault in this statement

Agree0 Disagree0

As for Bates, he took over our club seven years ago. When we were a skint and average championship side. Since then we've been relegated to the lowest point this club has EVER been, suffered several 'managers' (term used loosely as Dennis Wise cannot be classed in this group), gone bankrupt TWICE, oh and a promotion back to being.... you guessed it....a skint and average championship side. Seven years and all we have is 24 new but empty executive boxes and a museum to hold none of the silverware we havent won since '92.
He isnt willing to pump money into Leeds United, hes done all he wants and just wants to draw off as much money as he can for that huge mausoleum hes inching closer to every day. Time to go Ken.

Agree0 Disagree0

To reply no.2:

i can't even begin to tell you how many factual inaccuracies there are in your post.

Agree0 Disagree0

It says a GOOD win followed by two defeats, meaning that when ever we beat a side that was doing well at the time and looked to have "turned the corner" we always seemed to lose the next games. Im not saying literally every time we won a game we lost the next. Grayson had a good record but remember the majority of those games were in league 1 with the likes of Howson, Beckford, Gradel and Johnson all of which are playing in or have played in the premier league (Gradel French Premier!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Clark has quit Hudders. Hope to god this does not mean he is on the way to us!!

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Lets hope so, seems a lot of managers being sacked lately.....

Agree0 Disagree0

He must be going somewhere surely though? they only lost 1-0 last night and are only 4 points off automatic. if he is coming to us why not? can't be any worse after last night, and he does play decent football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting that he didnt distance himself from the Leeds job last week when asked , all he said was that he would give 110% wherever he managed. Watch this space.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course he's on his way to us.
Bates wont pay 20 grand a week to Warnock or Mcarthy, they want premier league wages, if he doesnt let Redfearn have the job to the end of the season then Clark fits his budget nicely. Just goes to show more of Bates' ambitions for this club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope and pray we do not get him he is without doubt totally useless and has no plan b or indeed any plan

Agree0 Disagree0

Lee Clark has resigned. Wolves or Leeds? {Ed007's Note - He was sacked.}

Believable6 Unbelievable7

15 Feb 2012 10:22:04
i think bates would do himself a big favour if he stopped the cloak and dagger stuff just be honest with us who cares if other clubs see our business? picture this right, we get mad mick limp into playoffs with a late surge, and win promotion, if the club publicly stated we have to pay x amount from the previous regimes problem so we have limited funds for players so we are going to try to stay up with the current squad. so we urge the fans to get behind the team in what will be a difficult season and lets do our best. i think this would galvanise our club and give us that fighting -15 spirit. anyone agree?

Believable24 Unbelievable3

I think Mr. Bates is in negotiaitons with an investor mayby even buyer. That is why he wont put money into the team. As well as point out a new manager, because the new owner maybe want his own manager in.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there may well be some 'talks' going on, judging by the lack of comments or denials coming from the official site or Ken Bates himself?

Lets keep our fingers crossed....

Agree0 Disagree0

One problem with that statement mate, you mention promotion and that is simply not going to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

"you mention promotion and that is simply not going to happen"

it's so nice to see so many 'real fans' around here

we've all had enough ! .. then it time to vote with your feet ... we should all boycott the saints game at home let show KB how e wall feel !

Believable19 Unbelievable15

I support Leeds United and will continue to support them whoever the chairman is. I’ve had enough of KB as much the rest but I’m not going to take it out on the team by failing to support them and neither should you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not boycott the donny game on saturday?

I am personally as weird as it sounds not to disappointed that we lost the last two matches as I really dont think readfern is the man to take us forward.

So a bit of a blessing in disguise, I hope we get mccarthy or warnock, not really interested about playing spectacular football just now, I just want Leeds to be a respected force again, like the team of the late 90's that was very resilient and was very hard to score against, team used to hate coming to elland rd now its pretty much a shoein!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why boycott anything?
It would only work if nobody at all showed up, which basically is impossible.
If anything would a full stadium not make more of a statement?
We're all here to support Leeds, we all want Bates Out!?

Agree0 Disagree0

If you want a result then boycott THIS saturday's game!

No time like the present, why wait until we've lost even more points???

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the idea that a packed out stadium would make more of an impact than than one where a couple of thousand fans at most have boycotted

Agree0 Disagree0

Why wait until the Saints game you all say. Maybe the original poster has already bought Donny tickets and doesn't want to waste them! Also, why punish the team if you're pissed off. Attend the games, sing as loudly as possible and get behind them, give them the 12th man they deserve!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha ha What utter rubbish!!
Ive been following Leeds for thirty years and Ken Bates aint gonna make me stop going.
Do you really believe he cares about you lot? Do you think the chants hurt him?
He's a prize c*** but so are you if you think you can get through his thick hide.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you know how to get rid of Bates? Buy the club off him.

No?

What are you complaining about then?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think more of an impact woud be made by making every game left a sell-out, and then waiting till 5 minutes after kick-off before going in :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Cos the saints game is live on sky...when all the cameras pick up the empty seats even spin doctor bates cant spin that one,i am a season ticket holder and if we were all gonna do this for one game to show ken we THE SUPPORTERS ARE UNITED,this is the one to do it,the longer we all keep feeding his pockets the longer he will be there,we have to make a stand together otherwise it wont work and we will all still be typing on here and moaning about the same things in 3 years time, only difference is we will be in league 2 then!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why boycott the games, we should all give the team our fullest support, boycott the bars, shop, programmes, pies etc instead eg support the team but stop Bates increasing his take.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates already has your money from the season tickets, so turn up, just don't buy anything when you're there. No programmes, no souvenirs, no food and no drinks.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the reason he is saying to boycott the saints game is because its on telly so he wont miss it anyway. Personally im not in favour of boycotting the team and lets face it we dont go to ER to watch Uncle Ken now do we. Redfern as much as I like him doesn't have the experience needed and I hate to say this but we probably need Warnock (i would still prefer Antic myself but not sure we could or would afford him.

the irish star newspaper this morning says roy keane is very interested in leeds job...hope not...

Believable4 Unbelievable24

He can be intrested as much as he wants........if he comes I wont set my feet back on Elland Road as long as he is there.

Agree0 Disagree0

No leeds fan would support that thug,NOT A CHANCE

Mick McCarthy to be announced Friday, Warnock wants the Wolves job to prove a point about him being a premier league manager, Di Matteo wont leave Chelsea until he gets pushed, Redfearn would have got it until end of season had McCarthy not become available, when Bates would have gone for Clark when / if Huddersfield miss promotion. But Bates has moved in fast to secure McCarthy.. Reliable Source CEO of a well known Leeds team who play with funny shaped balls.

Not happy personally think he plays hoof it crap football, and I don't think ive ever seen him sign one player ive ever thought good signing (Frimpong on loan maybe) wish we had him should fit right in Bates mould, I would rather have given it to Redders till end of season then gone for Clark or MK Dons Manager.

Cas White MOT..

Believable10 Unbelievable14

Sgt wilko had his moments but won us the league with a far better side than we have got now mad mick or colin has got to be a better altenative to what we got and to be honest redfearn can not make a silk ear out of a pigs foot ie graysons donkies

Agree0 Disagree0

If playing the hoof it crap gets us promotion then I for one will accept it at least until the end of the season. It is at the stage now where results are more important than pretty football!

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Would still rather have Grayson than anything on offer

Agree0 Disagree0

Redders to end of season, could have beem a disaster

Agree0 Disagree0

Give it to Redders - are you having a laugh!!.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's siged some very good players for small fees Kightley from non league 50 grand or something around that price .before he got injured he was a real find Jarvis from the gills got in Englad squad cost around 1 mill Fleacher would sell for a lot more than Mick bought him for,Ebanks Blake from Plymouth scored the goals to get them promoted,Ward cost them next to nothing I could go on but you got that one wrong mate,

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously - it's at times liek this that I despair
What carpets are you smoking? Redfearn is NOt the man
How can you criticise a manager that has achieved promotion with 2 different teams from the Championship and..qualified for a World Cup?
He is also HONEST - something in very short supply at the Club currently

He would ORGANISE the rabble that is on the field currently and re-build a team around a decent back 4.

Give it to Redders!! Seriously - who let's guys likeyou out of their straight jackets?

Agree0 Disagree0

Mick bought in x, Mick bought in y, Mick would build a new team....

Mick wouldn't come to LUFC because we've now made it impossile for the new manager to sign anyone! When will Leeds fans wake up to the predicament we're in?

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Doyle, Fletcher, Jarvis, O'Hara, Johnson? All quality players, Mick can sign good players when backed!

Agree0 Disagree0

Knowone on the radar better than grayson. we maybe wernt brilliant under him but we managed to grind results in the last 10 mins of games...lot of people with very short memories in regards to what he achieved for our football club. cant wait to be rotting in league one in the near future, keep redders and we'l be there sooner rather than later

Agree0 Disagree0

"we maybe wernt brilliant under him but we managed to grind results in the last 10 mins of games.."
Not much point in playing well for 10 mins and conceding flat out for the other 80 odd mins.
This is Grayson's legacy. s**t defending. Atrocious signings. Inflated wage bill on players that NO club wanted for FREE in January. We can't even give these lads away.
Grayson better than whats on offer - please! Throw a dart at the phone book and you'd come up someone better.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2012 23:59:13
Mick McCarthy now the clear favourite with the bookies. I hope they're right!

Redfearn has drifted somewhat - can't think why?
