Heard we might be Getting Alex McCarthy from Reading! Decent keeper and knows Mcdermott! Hope it's true!

Really hope so. I was really impressed with him duein his loan spell. And his saves shiner Liverpool the other day were fantastic. I would question our financial power to get him though

Get a grip man the guy is future england material and after the perfromance at the weekend he's now readings no1 theyd be bonkers for him not to be. At any rate bigger clubs than the likes of us would be in for him if reading really wanted rid of him. because I live in London I happen to go to plenty brentford games and Simon Moore has been very consistent for a young keeper all season.

Would love to see it but Brendan Rodgers is after him.

Dont forget mcCarthy is a big Leeds fan

McCarthy from Reading to Leeds? I don't think so.

Daftest thing I've read since someone else posted it a few days earlier
1 If he leaves Reading he'll go to a Premier League club
2 Do you really think LUFC can afford him or his wages? As another poster says, he's a future international (who played an absolute stunner v Liverpool last weekend)

Looking at his display against Liverpool it was amazing

Nice thought, but not a chance! Will be a no1 for a prem team next season without a doubt, will be England no1 in a few years.

I just heard from someone who knows Sam byram and the deal with man city is, 15k a week rising to 40k depending on appearances, I'm not saying he's going but they apparently are the terms there offering.

Unless we have accepted a bid from Man City they can't offer him anything whatsoever!

. So £15k/week, then. The lad has to make a choice - first team football and a steady rising career or a quick finincial gain for a lifetime on the bench. Martin Woods, anyone?

BS, as just said, terms can't be offered unless we receive and accept bid, which won't happen this season

As ever he’ll go if this is true. Same old story. Money, Money, Money,. Just like Smith, Howson etc. Expect no loyalty from any players. If you want loyalty get a dog.

App he has said he wants to go but only if he can stay on loan for a season.

Thanks for the info Sam

Well thanks for that piece of useless information u really know how to cheer us up!lol mot!

It may have nothing to do with loyalty, perhaps the clubs owners just want the cash. Did you ever think of that?

Isn't that called tapping up?

If offered anything near the £9 million mentioned I'd drive him to manchester

"If offered anything near the £9 million mentioned I'd drive him to manchester"
I'd rather we keep him, what is the sense of having money to buy more players when we have just lost one of our best assets? Stick with what we have in Byrams case, he's already proven how hard he will be to replace in less than one season?
Agree0

Minimum £12m. and all of it up front if the bid comes from rubbishteh, and only if Sam really wants to leave for a life on the bench.

If GFH want to sell him, he will be sold. It's not up to Sam

We know man city are interested, along with several other clubs, but any talk of terms are BS, OP is just trying to stir
Agree0

If it is dependent on appearances, if like many young tallents that have gone to the big clubs, his tallent will be lost rotting in the reserves

To the 1st reply.

Southampton sacked NA in the morning and appointed MP in the afternoon!
' Tapping up ' has been going on for years.
If serious, they'll be talking to Sam ( Via agent ) long before they make a bid.
Agree0

Yes 'tapping up' happens but what's Southampton hiring MP got to do with it? He was not under contract with anyone so Southampton were free to talk to him
Agree0
Disagree0
Um. Sam's under contract. If Sam doesn't want to go, GFH can't force him out unless they do something particularly distasteful (such as bad-mouthing him to the press like Warnock did)

Spoke to sam last night no interest in going anywhere said all paper talk making it up
