leeds sign robbie mcdaid from glenavon a friendly at their place part of deal,,,, kj

Believable51 Unbelievable15

"Come on all you whites", give us something to cheer about today, and put in a ruddy good effort for all us fab leeds fans!

Agree2 Disagree1

Apparantly he is that good their fans say he is the next David Healy.

Agree2 Disagree1

Much better performance yesterday even though we lost, hope we have the same attitude for the next match and hopefully we can get a win MOT!

Agree1 Disagree0

Two wins in sixteen games and HE is still the Manager? HOW? STILL the same lame excuses, McDermott please please GO, and save us and yourself from this EMBARRASSMENT.

Agree2 Disagree2

Above poster whos going to pay his £1 mill if they sack him?

Agree3 Disagree0

Agreed Andy. We're already haemorrhaging money. Why add to the pile? Let Brian do his job a`nd call for his head at the end of the season if that is your want

DefWill

Agree2 Disagree1

The next four games will determine Brian's fate. Millwall, Doncaster and Charlton at Home and then away to Bournemouth after Millwall. If we don't win some of those then I fear for us.

Agree4 Disagree0

If the takeover goes ahead he will be gone and if we don't pick up he will be gone

Robbie mcdaid deal is done according to 'lurgan today' newspaper. (On news now) Says we will play glenovan in a friendly as well as part of the deal

Believable32 Unbelievable6

That's another loss then!!!

Agree6 Disagree1

Wow all this talk about mcdaid any one would think he is the new yeboah let's get to grips he just young kid who will play all next season in development squad with a few bench appearances

Agree3 Disagree0

Wow why so negative. I would laugh if he finished as top scorer next season

Agree3 Disagree2

He will be top scorer when we are in league one next season.

Agree3 Disagree2

RE-WOW poster above.

Why the negative comments to a player I presume you have NEVER seen play? this is why players come to LUFC and fail to hit off, encourage young talent its our future.
Your probably an armchair fan that has NEVER been to ER.

REMEMBER
Robbie Keane
Liam Brady
Roy Keane
George Best
Frank Stapleton
Johhny Giles
Paul McGrath
Ray Houghton
Pat Jennings
Ronnie Whelan
Just to name a few that came from across the water and i'm sure you wouldn't send back?

Andy MOT

Agree5 Disagree2

The negative comments aren't Leeds fans. they're people who only want reflected glory.

F

Agree3 Disagree0

No marks. Litterally

Ray Houghton may have passed over the Mersey on way down from Glasgow and Paul McGrath probably crossed the Thames coming from London but I think I get your drift!

Agree0 Disagree0

Most of the players you have listed Andy are not from Northern Ireland, which makes your post look stupid

Agree0 Disagree0

Excuse me (invisible poster) did I mention Northern Ireland?
Andy MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

"Most of the players you mention are not from Northern Ireland"? Seems to me he said from over the water . does that not suggest that the players mentioned could be from N. Ireland or The Republic of Ireland? All except two are from over the water as Andy suggests . Paul McGrath and Ray Houghton.

Dont think you took the hint Andy Houghton from Glasgow and McGrath from London!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Andy only two of the players on your list are from the same country as McDaid. Of those two only Jennings played lower league football in Northern Ireland, so not a very good example.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - does it friggin matter ?}

Google Paul McGrath it will say born Ealing London/meet Paul McGrath HE WILL tell you county Wexford.

Agree0 Disagree0

ED I never said and Ireland if you look back it was another poster who mentioned the north NOT ME!
Without getting political I could tell you where McDaid was ORIGINALLY born but don't want to turn the page into a slanging site.
As for McGrath born and bread in county Wexford STILL lives in the same village he was born ;)

Andy MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - Obviously does matter Andy lol :).}

Looks like we've signed Mcdaid, friendly has been arranged as part of the deal

Believable28 Unbelievable3

When is this young lad available? And is he even any good?

Agree1 Disagree0

He is only young so probably a prospect for the future rather than immediately but he has scored goals for fun at all levels so far (albeit in Irish league) and apparently netted twice for Leeds in a development squad game when we gave him a trial.

Agree1 Disagree0

Hasn't he only scored 3/4 goals. Has only played a handful of games though. Why Brian? You ll be gone soon and this kid will get released by the new manager along with Ariyibi

This is great news, a game against a club with European experience in the summaer. I still think we could win it, with B McD at the helm!

Agree1 Disagree1

I kid you not, it really pi55es me off when even when something positive happens ( the boy has a 10% sell on fee to them if he gets sold on and we still took him ) he is a genuine prospect, young, eager, hungry, and still some leeds slag it off, yes we've had / in a bad run, not what we all wished and hoped for, and B McD is under the cosh, but for me, I buy into his building and long term project, yes we want more, we been had for so many years, we all know we are a mid table team at best, but still expect us to roll over teams (were leeds ain't we), but the building process is starting, new owner (pending) his quote, " am I here to take their money, they have none" speaks volumes for me, and befor people question me, I've been an attendee at ER for 40 years now and a STH, so seen it all, been through it all and still going :-), on a lighter note on tue as sthi as it was, we had a belter of a time laughing at a pie my m8t got, it was a rock / total pi55 take and even the stewards saw the funny side and told us we would be ejected for "bringing in an offencive weapon" so even when its so rubbishty, just remember "we are leeds united for a reason "

Agree6 Disagree3

So called fans that slag a young lad off they have NEVER seen play are NOT TRUE LEEDS fans in my opinion.
Really tells you something about negative comments when they WONT even sign a name to a negative comment.

Andy MOT (TRUE fan since 1970)

Agree2 Disagree1

Some "fans" want it bought for them, put on a plate and they want it now.

BMD might only be here for the short term but he wouldn't be the proffesional he is if he didn't make long term decisions that may benefit the club in the future - like this young Irish lad.

Fawksey

Agree1 Disagree0

We don't want kids from unheard of pub teams, we want championship proven strikers to get us out of this league! We don't want to be here in 4 seasons time

Agree1 Disagree1

I am not sure why you are so excited about signing a teenager part time footballer. He is a genuine prospect is he? Then why does he only have a 2 year contract? If he is any good he will be gone in 2 years for no money.

Agree1 Disagree1

IAN WRIGHT signed a 1 month contract when he first joined palace as they didn't think he would make it?
Makes your statement about 2yr contract look a bit silly I'm afraid ;)
Andy MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Fawksey
How right you are some fans want a team bought now and win things now.
Look at spurs £125 million spent and look worse than ever, you can't always buy success money helps but don't gaurantee anything ;)

Andy MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

IAN WRIGHT did not sign a 1 month contract, he had a trial. Get your facts right

Agree0 Disagree0

Good to see. Good luck to the young man and great to see we've beaten other clubs to his signature. To those moaning he's not a 'big name', remember Shane Long and Kevin Doyle were little known Irish youngsters when they were bought too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doyle was a Republic of Ireland U21 International when he signed for Reading and had scored 25 goals in 76 games for Cork City. They were League of Ireland Premier Division Champions in his final year.

Long also came from Cork as the former manager of Cork was the brother of the Reading coach,

McDaid signed from Glenavon F.C. which is a semi-professional, Northern Irish football club. He is an U18 schoolboy international

Cork City are a professional Republic of Ireland football team

He is from a different country to Doyle and Long and his experience is at a lower level.

I hope he is very good for us, but I cannot see the comparisons.

Agree0 Disagree0

Invisible poster
Ian Wright had a trial very true, his FIRST contract (as stated by me) was month to month FACT :)
