The highest paid player at LUFC currently is 12k and that was straight from Shaun Harvey at an "on the road event" he also stated that Howson's agent asked for 25k to stay, hence us selling him in January for some cash before he left in the summer. ADW

Believable9 Unbelievable13

Becchio and Brown are both on more than that according to people at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think this so called fact is true, as you will find 2 of our players on £15,000 a week although they should be on £3.00

Agree0 Disagree0

If FIFA is anything to go by, I started a manager mode with swansea and signed snodgrass on a 15k per week contract ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

I read somewere brown and i think bromby were on 15k......if thats true about howson than good ridance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys, beccio, brown, aob £12,000 aweek give or take . ross, andrew lonergan, pugh, connolly and alex bruce £8,000 aweek give or take.
most players signed from lower Leagues are on lower wage, players signed when in League one like paddy, bromby ect are on low wage. Robert Snodgrass believe it or not is only on £4-5,000 a week, billy painter £3000. Johnson and neil k where on the same as snodgrass they wanted the same as becchio but where offered £7000, twice the wage they had, johnny howson was on the same too. He didnt leave for the money as southampton and newcastle both wanted him but newcastle wanted to waited till the end of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

He had the choice between Norwich, Southampton and Newcastle, but he chose Norwich? That's just bizarre!

Agree0 Disagree0

He chose norwich over newcastle? thats like saying would you like a ferrari, no im alright i will take this fiat?

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford had the change to go to newcastle when leaving leeds, also there was an interview with howson last week, with the reason why he chose norwich. plus johnson is there too and he said he loves fishing and not into partying. The post three above sounds about right.

Feel a bit better leaving Elland Road today, after going 1-0 down I feared the worst but credit to today's team for not giving up, if it's one thing the Leeds fans respect its players that give they're all,Paynter was one of those players today although whether he is in Warnocks plans next season remains to be seen., the rest of the team didn't do they're prospects any harm but a full overall of the squad for next season is still needed, also if Webber had the ability to score at the end of some of the runs he does he could be a real asset.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Webber had so many chances in that game so i hope that he doesnt mess up like that in more important games but an all round good performance by the team at ER yesterday and keep it up billy.MOT

PAPERING OVER THE CRACKS BY A PAYNTER AND A DECORATOR!

Great result, great fun at times but don!t be fooled. For most of the first half Leeds were dire. New boy Taylor was ripped to pieces at left back, no surprise that he was replaced with Robinson later on. Posh's goal was the result of the usual carp defending that we have witnessed time and time again this season.
Our equaliser was the result of an equally laughable piece of Posh defending but give Barn Door his due, he was on hand to score.
We started the second half well and quickly got goals and dominated much of the game from then on. But before we herald the new era lets not get carried away. Peterborough made us look good. To be frank, there were atrocious and were there for the taking.
However, a confidence booster for the PAYNTER aided and abetted by his more consistent DECORATOR partner in 19 goals Super Mac!

Believable5 Unbelievable10

I wouldn't go so far as to say they were dire in the first half.

Taylor could certainly have done better, but he is only 18, and this will have been a good experience for him. He does appear to have a bit of pace and a good cross on him, which offers potential for him in a couple of years time.

Rogers looked good until his injury, but Webber was pretty disappointing. His attempt to dribble in our own penalty area was tactless to say the least.

Paynter definitely put a good shift in, but he is slow and has an awful first touch. I would keep him as backup though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you have to be so negative about the team. We won and we will continue to do so providing nw plays the right squad and drafts some players in. Also your attempt at tryin to sound inteligent made you sound like an person so why bot just put your opinion accross like a normal person. You clearly are not a news reporter, just get behind the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

So you have a sense of humour..... brilliant! i can only imagine how many leeds fans agree with your total negativity towards the team and inteligent joke about the " paynter and docorator " your not a propper supporter, your a part time comedian, full time complainer, and only excel at the latter... stick to what you know, its clearly not our beloved lufc... paynter took his chance, lets congratulate him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I cant help thinking that there is goals in this lad, but how long do you give a guy, I suppose till his contract runs out to be fair.keep him,hes a big lad who cant be on massive money, and if he doesent produce when given the chance next season then i believe he will and should move along with no hard feelings.

Agree0 Disagree0

The first poster is just about right. This was an end of season game with neither team having much to play for. Borough were not bad going forward in the first half but they were probably the worst I have seen this year defensively- even by our standards. I have been a season ticket holders for many years. Supporting doesn't mean you cant be a realist and just look through rose tinted glasses. We need a clear out as most of the players are not good enough to get us promotion or have potential to be good but have an attitude problem. Hence the inconsistency. Warnock has a big job on his hands. I hope he is up to it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder what the scoreline would have been if rogers didnt pick up an early injury and get replaced by webber as im pretty sure that rogers would have put away atleast two of those chances that webber messed up but hope that was just a blip and he hasnt lost his confidence.

Agree0 Disagree0

One good game doesn't turn the lad into a superstar but gave the guy credit. This is the first time I can remember where he has started alongside a decent striker. He was winning headers against strong centre-backs and held the ball up well- something that has been missing all season. Give him the remainder of the season and see how he does alongside Ross; he might not be the answer but give him chance. Now he has a couple of goals and the pressure is off him he may show why Grayson signed him in the first place.

Leeds looking at Shamrock Rovers' 24 year old central midfielder Ronan Finn. He appears too good for the Airtricity League and a move to England will suit him. He very comfortable on the ball and his positioning is fantastic. He has a decent strike on him also,

Believable15 Unbelievable14

Thanks for that advertisement Ronan! Do any of your mates want to come as well?

Agree0 Disagree0

The LOI produce some decent players to be fair, Coleman, McLean, Fahey etc...

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest that was a pretty poor strike, the keeper should've saved it, I'd even fancy my chances and I play at sub-university thirds level.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh it's hard to find clips of him on YouTube :/

Agree0 Disagree0

Im from ireland and tbh he could easily play in atleast the championship. quality player

Agree0 Disagree0

I can remember when grant holt and riki lambert in l2 and people said they were lower level and would not be any good in a higher league Now look one in prem should go to EUROS second top scorer PREM and then you got lambert 30 0dd goals and on way to prem P.S im a season ticket holder at er and these part time fans just slate any1 including there own and ive not sen the clip give the lads a chance look what owen hargreaves did last season and were he is now

Well done Warnock losing again at home to a shocking team good idea to cover himself with all the changes in the team. Complete laughing stock we are.

Believable0 Unbelievable24

Well considering were winning 4-1 and playing well....you can shup!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bet you feel a bit daft now! Give him a chance next season with his own team before you write him off.

Agree0 Disagree0

We're now winning 4-1. Stop being so negative all the time. Give the team chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Strange posting this one. 4-1 up now and Billy Paynter is the new hero!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not a 44 minute game now is it. Wait the 90!

Agree0 Disagree0

No mate.... You re the complete laughing stock...
It s not over till the fat lady sings.

Agree0 Disagree0

Only laughing stock is original poster, wait till next season when NW brings in his own players, we would have been a real laughing stock if by some miracle we managed to go up through the play offs with most of this bunch to the prem

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I know a win against a team who would be more in place in League 2 and that's being kind what a great result one won at home and now we're superb. The game didn't matter both teams seasons were already over so pardon me for not being very pleased with 12 points from 33.

Those who say give him a chance so he can shape his own team next year Paul Green is one of his big targets I see very bad times ahead if that's the calibre of player he has earmarked for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's way too much negativity amongst leeds fans... and way too many people who jump to condemn. Stop being a dick and let the man do his job.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we had lost at home to Peterborough I would have given up on Warnock, completely.

Shame that it takes Barn door billy this long to do something positive after the thousands of pounds he has leeched out of our team this season....

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish people would get off Billy's back. Its not like he's been given the greatest of chances at the club is it?! He was brought in to play as a last resort at the end of last season when we were playing equally as bad as we have been doing of late.

Now, after sometime in the reserves, he gets an opportunity to perform for the new gaffer, and he's proving his worth.

He chose to stay last summer and fight for his place, and this is the first opportunity he's been given. If you ask me, in a season when we've only had one strker of any worth, he's putting himself fimly in contention for a place in the squad next season.

He wants to play for us too, so I say give him his chance. And get off his back.

Billy's winning more balls than Becchio has been. redemption on the cards?

Believable16 Unbelievable1

I love the way Billy just kind of runs into players to win the ball. Not legal, but funny as hell to watch. He's just got no agility at all. Still worked though.

Rogers can go at the end of the season, off after 12 minutes. Not a leeds player, not hard enough.

Believable4 Unbelievable18

I'd keep him NW has said he is impressed with how hard he works in training and his skill....however if we are going to be a physical side he needs to inflict more pain to others not just himself

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you say that. hes hardly played obviously hes gunna get injured!

Agree0 Disagree0

I bet he's much harder now than he was 6 months ago.

It has been confirmed, PAYNTER Starts today for LUFC against Peterborough!

Believable12 Unbelievable0

Good. And good that we get to see some of the others having a crack. I'd run him, Rodgers and Taylor out till the end of the season. Maybe give Forrsell a full game or two. Why not? He cant do much worse than the other McCormack and Beccio of late.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol Paynter just scored, good on him, what a torrid time he has had, hope he gets a decent club for next season league 1 is his level though.
