Had to laugh at Aidy Whites comment on the Leeds website:

"What killed us were the goals we conceded. If we could have cut that out and got a clean sheet then we would have won"

Brilliant!

Believable30 Unbelievable3

Ha I also was laughing my arse off when I read this comment.

Now that we have been blessed with that wisdom there will be no stopping us, who would have thought you could win a football match if you did'nt concede any goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bet he sat up all night thinking about that one

Agree0 Disagree0

Nearly as good as bobby robsons when he was England Manager,...

' i thought we won the game, even though it was a draw!'

Agree0 Disagree0

Alot of thought gone into that statement,,,,he'll make a good manager ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Aidy and would like to say that if I had got up with the alarm this morning I would have been at work on time, but I didnt so I wasnt. Bless him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wonder what wayne rooneys views would have been

Agree0 Disagree0

You can see his point though, if only we had known this at the start off te season we could of been top.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wonder how many more points we'd have this season if Lonergan didn't dive over the ball so often? Yeah he's made some decent games, but he's not good enough. Need a solid 'keeper to build the defence around. New 'keeper, new centre back x 2 needed before we are going to get out of the Championship. Decent defensive central mid needed as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's up there with the Sgt Wilko classic 'I'm a firm believer that if you score a goal the opposition have to score twice to win'...is there anyone who isn't a firm believer in that one?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lmao. Yorkshire born Yorkshire bred, strong in't arm thick In't head!

I mentioned the other day about Chris Miller
been in talks with Bates,I now understand that Millers' aim is to buy just over half of Bates 51% of the club meaning that Miller will be the man incharge at Elland Road However Bates will
still be involved. Also Miller says that he will be
Making the appointment of a new manager
his first priority.Reliable Source

Believable22 Unbelievable18

Oh right it's a reliable source - definitely true then

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris Miller ?!! Look - if potential buyers names don't begin with the word Sheikh - then we're not interested!

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is Chris Miller and what is his background?

Agree0 Disagree0

I have heard nothing of this miller character, do you have any links to any press releases, stories regarding this rumour?

Whats your source?

Agree0 Disagree0

To be able to give this any credence, who is Chris Miller and where does he make his money to be able to fund this?

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris miller is MD of leeds commercials, a big profitable company that leases out heavy plant machinery to big building contractors. hes local and a leeds fan (the anti-bates). please let this be true. all the evidence (asset stripping & ground improvements) would suggest bates is about to relinquish his stranglehold imminently. equally the lack of information about this investment would fit into the way bates conducts his "business"

Agree0 Disagree0

He is MD of Leeds Commercial and a LUFC fan! MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris miller is the fella who used to have the cracked egg!! i believe hes got a burger van in sheffield now called greasey veras!! he says he will match bates pound for pound with his investment!! things should be on the up from now on guys!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like a bet to me - think of a name or pick one from your mates and then see how far you can get a rumour going.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he's got the money, then there's no doubt Bates will sell.

So the question is: does he have the money?

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets hope there is some truth in this and hopefully we see someone who has the financial clout to provide our next manager with sufficient funds to get a few quality players in and prove to the likes of Snoddy that we can compete before he leaves like Howson, Beckford etc. MOT !

Agree0 Disagree0

Why doesnt someone email his company and ask the question?, the email address is on the website?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just hav, hhis PR office told me that he is unable to comment on the matter at this time, will but will be releasing a statement before the end of the week

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you must mean 'Windy' Miller, the much-loved and respected wheat and dairy entrepeneur from Camberwick Green. I think he's been a fan of Leeds about as long as I have. Mind you, Windy and I had the pleasure of watching Revie's boys back then. He may be a little surprised at how things have changed.

Agree0 Disagree0

There may be some substance in this.

It would make sense for Ken Bates to take as much as he can and sell his shares - no matter what percentage, and if we do get promotion this season it wouldn't be 'his' money being used to pay our debts off?

Agree0 Disagree0

To the last post, what debts. We are debt free and have been since going into a CVA it drops off this year. So mate no debts at all. If your wondering a CVA is a company voluntary arrangement we paid our creditors off and it lasts for six years exactly like a IVA

Leeds Commercial

2010 Accounts

Cash at bank = £500k
Net worth = £7.2m
Liabilities = £11.6m
Assets = £4.4m

Other companies he's a director of, including LC Vehicle Hire, all net worth £0, zero cash, zero assets (except Miller Properties, worth £500, £250k liabilities)

I know this is the company rather than the individual, but not really the level of funding required to make a difference. Can't find him on any rich list either!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just read another post saying the guy from OHS (LUFC sponsor) is part of consortium with Chris Miller. OHS are currently valued at just over £1m.

Unless these guys have vast personal fortunes they're prepared to pee up the wall for the love of Leeds United it ain't happening.

Just to put this into perspective, I do some work for a guy who has no interest whatsover in blowing his wealth on a football club. He 'is' featured in the UK rich list with an estimated worth of around £150m. When you look up his companies they are currently valued at around £160m with the lowest valued at around the same value as Leeds Commercial (£7.5m). The highest is valued at well over £100m, has around £30m at the bank, and assets of over £400m.

Even if these guys do buy Leeds they just haven't got the money to do anything with it (unless of course the mystery Australian friend of Tony Dorigo (the third party in the consortium) is the one with all the cash)

Don't get me wrong, I hope it is true and they do have a fortune to invest, but I wouldn't bet my worth on it (and before you ask, probably about £50).

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's put things into perspective, Leeds united will be financially viable if we all do one thing and that advertise that the club is available. How we can do this is by global marketing attract proper people with proper money

Mick McCarthy for Leeds Manager?

Believable34 Unbelievable16

I think it would be a good shout, got passion and takes it on the chin when he gets it wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love Mick mc to get the job a full on yorkshire man who wheres his heart on his sleeve (come on ken dig deep)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not hes another dinasour with no idea on the modern game/getting it down and playing. Karl Robinson should be given the job with a three year plan to get us up playing good entertaining football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reckon he'd be best shout, Warnock would want to stay in PL if possible.

Agree0 Disagree0

Behave mate. The wifes got passion and also takes it on the chin ( wink wink ) but she would be crap managing Leeds. We need a young hungry manager who plays football the swansea/arsenal way.

Agree0 Disagree0

To last response that's one of the best replies i have read on this site! Well done sir!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wondered how long someone would make this connection.

Agree0 Disagree0

If it was so easy to play in the arsenal/swansea way, i think everyone would do it. leeds have never been renowned for good football, we're renowned as a place that teams are scared of coming to play against. i would hardly be scared of watching a team pass it round their back 4

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a manager that will get us up... Whether he is young or not doesn't matter a jot to me, and as for hungry Mick McCarthy lives for the game and would love the chance to get a team like Leeds promoted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this the same Mick Mcarthy who admitted defeat against the scum before a ball was even kicked by putting out his reserves? Don't know about everyone else but that's cowardice in the face of the enemy in my book. Not wanted at Leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well to the guy who things we need to
be scary rather than try play attractive
football I suggest you come out of the
dark ages. Football is changing and we need to change with it. I want to be entertained not dodging o'deas clearances
in the east stand pal. If u want scary you can have a night with my mrs. {Ed013's Note - Yes please!!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Attractive football is more important than winning is it?

Some people don't make any sense...

In my opinion, nothing in football is more attractive than keeping a clean sheet.

Agree0 Disagree0

He put out a weakend team against utd cos we had burnley on the weekend and we went on 2 beat them prety shrewd did cost wolves 25grand fine tho he turned wolves round in the 5 6 years he was ere and with a little more backin from the board he wud still b at wolves

Agree0 Disagree0

From a Wolves Season Ticket Holder...McCarthy will get you out the League with a bit of money to spend...he can't hack the Premier League..tactically inept...plays players in wrong position..signs a left sided forward and converts him to left back..getting the idea?

Agree0 Disagree0

A lad born and bred in barnsley managing the mighty leeds well i never

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think McCarthy is such a bad choice, but would love to know what pproof the Daily Mail have got to print this stuff?

It does actually read like Bates HAS offered McCarthy the post, not that he 'MIGHT' be thinking of it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Mick Mcarthey would get Leeds Utd promoted dont let the Wolves experience put you off the chairman there is a lot tighter than Bates & wouldnt back him in the players he wanted to sign the policy being young & hungry really means cheap & useless he is the best fit for Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Steve Bruce favourite at the moment. Lets hope we dont get him

Believable9 Unbelievable20

Bruce and Ince would be bad choises, Bates would not choose one of them at the moment. He would seek to build a relation with the fans now. And anyone connected to Man U wouldnt..

Agree0 Disagree0

I clicked believable......meaning I agree that I hope to god we don't get him, the only worse outcomes I can think of are Ince or Keane! Surely the only sensible option is Warnock and rings true that we're holding on with an announcement due to him chasing a payoff from QPR and Refern being given until the Donny game

today, But don't get to carried away
It's not who any of us thought about

lol saw a guy in town earlier, that looked like
Rob Lee and my lord he's gone gray!!
Probably something and nothing but thought I
would share it with people after some of the
crazy suggestions we have seen on here!!

Probably was not him but knowing Bates he's
may have offered him some marzipan and 50p
pence to come and do a job! :P

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Congratulations on the most irrelevant
message on this site. To cut to the chase
u may have seen Rob Lee who now has grey hair shopping in Leeds but admit it was probably not him. I dont know about others but I for one am on the edge of my seat. To add to the excitement may I just share that I bought a new shovel this weekend.
