The sticking point in the contracts is who pays the extra £5m to the creditors if leeds get promoted before 2015 as per the agreement on liquidting through bates last time.

The ownership of ER & TA re minor details as public regsitery holds details of ownership, and if it is a holding company then that will be easy to contractualise.

Also, transfer market is slow as it always is when euros or WC is on, and most of the targets that are being discussed are not good enough for Leeds.

As the press are the best (as it is their job) to get information surely they would know about this stuff, and if there is any transfers in or out they would be printing stuff anyway.

I had Dinner with Alan Smith last week and he knows sweet FA about any link back to leeds, he cant even get in the MK starting line up ffs!

Lastly, my cousin (Tim Connolly) plays for the maple leafs and he has heard wispers that the deal is lmost done for Leeds.

Believable4 Unbelievable17

As soon as you said the Alan Smith part you blew it.

Agree0 Disagree0

As ay deal is done at boardroom and the maple leaf has ruled themselfs out many times then you nice about smithy then slag him off this post is bull

Agree0 Disagree0

Can someone please clarify this period of time which was wrote in the administrators agreement, was it 5, 7 or 10 years from 2007, that we have to pay the additional £5m before/when we got back into the premiership??

Agree0 Disagree0

The sticking point in the contracts is who pays the extra £5m to the creditors if leeds get promoted before 2015 as per the agreement on liquidting through bates last time.

this is a Leeds debt(or commitment), not a Ken Bates debt(or commitment). so makes no differences - so this is all lies

Agree0 Disagree0

The liability to creditors is £4.75m due if Leeds are promoted to Premiership by 2017 (see company accounts).
As a poster above says there would be no issue/sticking point with this item as it is an ongoing liability of the club and any purchasing party would have to take on all existing liabilities of the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

The £5m doesn't matter particularly, with the extra money from going up we could pay that off without blinking... Alan Smith was a possibility two seasons ago but its completely over now, and the only people that link us to him are the random posters on this site.

Hi, dont know if mate has already added this text, but here goes.
Me and few friends were having meal in milton keys wen alan smith came in with i think his dad and couple ov guys one who i was told was mk dona chairman.
Being big leeds fan me and my mate slying followed smith in loo's when he went ( i know stalker time ) i casually asked alan when he wud be back at elland rd, which he replied he had hoped too but as leeds were being taken over buy the chinese there wud be no signings at leeds for 2months. He said he had briefly spoke to nw at end of season where he said he wanted him, but he hadnt heard anything since and thought leeds wud now look at bigger names as budget had risen. he did say thou it wudnt surprise him if no players come in before season and mega money available in jan. hope this is true! but dont shoot the messenger, if i was makin it up im sure i cud have added a few fantasy names

Believable5 Unbelievable20

Why would you want him back at Ellend road,he aint good enough, what a load of bo--ocks,time for your bed my lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure if I get this one...... My understanding is that we will have around 6-8 first teamers, not including kids...... We could have 100m come January, we would be 20 points adrift at the foot of the league..... Pretty sure no buyer will agree to relegation as part of the deal !!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

You and smith in a toilet your fantasy? More dribble than what ended up down your trousers, so believable that it was in MK and that he knows all the details that it's a takeover and by the Chinese, this is such a pathetic obvious bulls**t of a made up rumour it's just funny, these rumours are just getting worse, really think they should split the site into 3, Leeds rumours Leeds banter and Leeds bulls**t

Agree0 Disagree0

How cosy meeting Alan Smith in the toilets - did you cross swords & see who could wee to the highest tile like little boys...

Agree0 Disagree0

If you'd followed me in to the toilets you'd have got a slap, not all the inside gossip of the wheeling and dealings of Bates and Leeds, epescially as like me, A.Smith and the rest the world (outside Leeds Board Room) don't have a clue. Why would anyone tell Smith about it, most our own players don't know, maybe Snoddy does that why been no movement with him, wait and see etc. Can everyone just never mention A.Smith again, why people go on and on about Ex players, they are gone move on. If any come back ok, but posting it on here all the time wont make it happen, you think NW or Bates reads this? What would he be doing on site for Morons like us.

cash injection on saturday is true, leeds united mad posted it on twitter, bates will leave at the end of next season, and warnock has been told to carry on trying to recruit players for this season.

Premier League football in 2013/2014 anyone?

LUFC

Believable10 Unbelievable21

Just another twitter rumour dont really mean anything untill the news networks take hold and if bates is still chairman the cash wont get to warnock

Agree0 Disagree0

Re above, unless the investor stipulates conditions around their investment. i.e. to go on squad strengthening. Who in their right mind is going to hand over millions to bates and say 'do what you think is best'?!

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one want to be optimistic, but find it hard to when we have a chairman with such form as Bates... Deceit, lies, half truths, bullying, intimidation are all words that are often used... And this just feels the same... The only crumb of comfort I can find is that Bates is absolutely incapable of keeping that gob shut.... And all of a sudden he is... Also if Grayson was still there I can understand our manager saying nothing..... But not Colin... He is not short of a word or two either !!! Never been religous, but if it helps 15 hail Mary's Gingerstreak

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jun 2012 19:44:16
Leeds United FC to have a cash injection by Saturday at the latest
Colin has been told of the situation and to comtinue the recruitment drive but has been told he can try to attract better players but not offer stupid money for wages. Top earner will still be Snodgrass and apart from him the highest wage will be around 15 k
This has been common knowledge and it's just a case of a little patience on all sides. Ken bates will remain at the club but with reduced control and whatever happens will leave at end of 2012/13 for the sake of his health.
If I'm not believed you can abuse me on Sunday. This deal has been a tough one to organise, not surprising really will the people involved.
Leeds 4ever M O T
Keith

Believable13 Unbelievable19

You spoke with mr bates or warnock then have u? did they tell u how much money we have to spend aswell.. all we hear is announcent this day announcement that day blah blah blah.. why do we have t cum out with crap.. we r all frustrated leeds fans but we cant do anything bowt it.. MOT FOEREVER

Agree0 Disagree0

So these people ? who are involved are ? and to be honest what you say where no further forward ie wages and owner same regime same wage structure

Agree0 Disagree0

Where has this come from, What are your sources,

Agree0 Disagree0

What is your source if you are apparently "in the know" about the whole deal? If you were certain about these facts and the parts of the deal, why would you say to crucify you on Sunday if nothing happened.

Agree0 Disagree0

So how much of the club they buying if bates is remaining also if he is worried about his health why wait a year and please where id your source for this rumour

Agree0 Disagree0

This is all over twitter with the exact words i just re-tweeted it too, this deal is happening

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

PeteMOT

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy who tw***et this after tw**ting it dissapeared and refused to answer any messages back to him i bet he laughed himself silly

Agree0 Disagree0

Something must be happening or NW would have walked by now if he had no guaranteed money to spend?

Agree0 Disagree0

I may be thinking of someone else but isnt Keith nearly always right?

Agree0 Disagree0

Something is going on we all know that. I suspect, like a few, there is no takeover, but ER will be renamed as part of the deal, additionaly, the investor, will be putting up significant money to develop the hotel/casino...expect someone from Vagas to be in on the deal.

KB will remain but slowly dift off over the next couple of years.

Transfer money will be available, but only the figures previously agreed, before this circus started to happen.

Would expect something prior to players reporting back, which i think is 1st July?

YEP-must have talked with nw to run the story about brown being signed on for another year, you may ask why at 35 yrs old apparently he is fun to have around! beggers belief when NW stated he is after hungry young players, power and passion. should the YEP have intervied NW very recently why the F didn't they ask some more pertinent questions! or are all the fans outside the loop. come on the POERS THAT BE, give us something. MOT

Believable7 Unbelievable5

You`ll find NW had the Michael Brown conversation some weeks ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

That story is old. They haven't got anything to say, so repeat three week old news.

Agree0 Disagree0

Old story when we was announcing the relesed list he was offered a 1 year contract then

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the YEP have gone off a statement that Neil made before the end of last season about wanting to sign brown and are just trying to fill their sport pages.I don't think they have actually spoken to him recently.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more. How can you keep fans 'out of the loop'? Who else is it about!

Agree0 Disagree0

The story about brown is nothing new. The quotes in the article are the same as the previous one that came out shortly after the retained/released list was published. YEP is scraping the barrel for news. They should be probing the takeover/investment talks. Not writing stuff we already knew about.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Brown signing for another year awas always on the cards. He did a job for us back end of the season.

A hungry young team is great, but experience is a valuable commodity too...

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds united have signed confidentiality agreement so I can guarentee at the moment nobody knows. The one good thing is if they have signed these agreements something must be happening. I predict a 30% stake bought with the remaining to be bought out at an agreed price if promotion. In desperate need to get this sorted soon so Warnock has a chance of building a promotion chasing squad!!

Believable5 Unbelievable9

If "nobody" knows, then how do you "know" Leeds United have signed a confidentiality agreement?

Agree0 Disagree0

So that means no team investment as bates still keeps overall controll and he is more interested in building the stadium than the team and that means the most they will ever own is 30%

Agree0 Disagree0

It is common practice to sign a NDA in such matters, at this stage due diligence will be taking place, once all parties are happy with proposals then an announcement will take place, this can take 6-8 weeks so be patient.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates would have reduced control.
Most of the future investment in the stadium will be by 3rd party developers if they happen (casino/hotel).
As the poster above states NDA's are standard practice in any acquisition, merger or major investment.

Watts LLP has been commissioned by Larry Tanenbaum K.S.I to investigate and report on the Elland Road stadium and its facilities as part of a re-finance structure of the football club. The client commisioned Watts to manage a thorough technical due diligence exercise and appoint and coordinate specialist sub-consultants. Risk and occupational issues are to be addressed using building pathology services.

Believable4 Unbelievable12

There is a reference on top of this article part of which is 22/4/10 which means it could be 2 years old and been done when Bates was trying to get finances for the Hotel

Agree0 Disagree0

They did IN 2004 think this as been taken from then

Agree0 Disagree0

All over thefootballnetwork.net forum. Not true this is an old case study made to look like something it isnt.
KarlT

Agree0 Disagree0

This reads suspiciously well.

Indicates either the investment is either:

a) a sale of ER, which must confirm Bates owns it. Seems odd - why would an investor buy the ground other than to potentially redevelop it?

b) The takeover will re-unite the stadium and the club.

All provided the statement above is genuine, which it most likely isn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seams to me why id he doing a report on elland road leeds united onl rent and if he he re financing the club it means he gonna put us back in debt to buy us oh dear bad days ahead

I read with interest earlier today that "a significant Chinese enterprise" is the party about to invest in/take over LUFC. I cannot comment on the accuracy of the takeover rumour, but I can tell you that one of the biggest companies in China, Sinochem, has recently invested £3 in research funding into The University of Leeds - I know this because I work in The School of Chemistry at The University of Leeds, but it is also public knowledge

I am a Leeds fan also, and if the takeover rumour is true it would certainly make sense based on the comments about the link between LUFC and University of Leeds. Sinochem is rumoured to have raised around £3 billion recently through public flotation (it was previously government owned).
hhttp://www.leeds.ac.uk/forstaff/news/article/3090/university_inks_3m_research_deal_with_sinochem_group

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Wow £3 is a 'massive' investment - we need significantly more than that at LUFC!! (presumably you meant 3 million lol)

Agree0 Disagree0

I know it's a typing error but what did they buy with the £3 invested in the Uni? a box of pencils !

Agree0 Disagree0

Invested £3!! Awww man maybe they`ll spend £4.40 on a dayrider too!!

JINKIES SCOOB!

Agree0 Disagree0

"£3 in research funding into The University of Leeds" - can't be that rich, then.......

Agree0 Disagree0

They bought a coffee with that £3 investment :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

So he made a typo i cant spell for S***, the news article looks pretty reliable(unless this is a ridiculously elaborate joke)

I think this is the most realistic takeover rumour that we have seen, no one else has provided any info to back up their rumour. The university is hosting the Chinese Olympic team which is a nice sporting link, and with their economy on the up and chinese investing in uk businesses why not. Guess we will just have to wait and see.
KarlT

Its 3 million and made 35 billion in 2011 so lets hope it true

Just read on SSN website that Sheff Wednesday are now close to signing David Norris, good to see that whilst we remain embroiled in what is looking increasingly like the false claims of a take over, the players Warnock wants to bring to the club are being snapped up our lesser rivals.....Typical Leeds, more tough times ahead i suspect GC

Believable7 Unbelievable11

And who said we were after Norris or any of the other players we have supposedly been linked with.
Until i hear NW say we were after that player/this player then i don't abelieve a word of it.MOT Trevo

Agree0 Disagree0

You do know that with every takeover, a transfer embargo is put in place?!

Shape up love, shape up!

Agree0 Disagree0

There certainly have been some possible signings lost at this time but I think it highlights the fact that there is something actually happening.
It is noticeable that we are holding back from making 'any' bid for 'any' player. I'm sure we would have had some players in or out by this point, if there had of not been something going on at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

The quality of a lot of these players appearing here leaves a lot to be desired.
I was hoping for a notch or two up when (said with optimism) the takeover is complete.

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster get a grip, these players aren't good enough for us ,we will build a squad capable of promotion, let also rans like wed, palace and hudd have these average players,we will get taken over

Agree0 Disagree0

Must say I agree with the last post. If we are being taken over then these players that are mentioned are not title or promotion winning standard. I think that now QPR have signed Green then Warnocks hand will be forced if there is competition for Paddy Kenny.

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster here, with regards to the shape up love comment, i've obviously missed the part where the club has declared that they are being taken over have i, along with the rest of the fan base i assume...Nothing to confirm a takeover, therefore nothing to confirm a transfer embargo, yet another victim of the Ken Bates rumour mill, purposefully put out to delay having to spend any money....Shape up love shape up

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster you really haven't got a clue have you....Bates rumour mill ha ha ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Love the these players aren't good enough for us comments, where have you been for the last 5 seasons, we have had some of the worst players in the history of the club pull on the shirt and now you think players aren't good enough for us

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster here, just looking back at my previous post and just underlines some of the geniuses that comment on here, Looks like we were after Norris after all, since he just captained us to our opening day victory, also the shape up shape comment, brilliant looks like you were really suckered in by Mr Bates, you doughnut

Hopefully, us Leeds fans, shall hear something positive soon.

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Whatever happens with Forest happens. It has nish to do with us. If they get someone buying them out , it doesnt mean to say we wont. What the f*** is going on in the minds of Leeds supporters? Dont lose the plot, people. And it is a good thing if we appaer to not have bought some of our targets (Ward), but Neil is still here. Surely that means something is STILL happening - on the cards at least. And and would anyone want a press release / update pn the situation? Agree0 Disagree0

You lot make me laugh leeds hav been locked down in talks for weeks and forest have openly come out and said they are not in the process of a takeover, plus who would want a team with no ambition , weak fanbase and in tons of debt who make a loss each year where as leeds makes 3m profit. leeds are going to be taken over and forest wont do anything this year

Forest only starting Due Dilligence with 2 separate bidders as confirmed on SSN today by their Director.

Who owns ER was under the impression that it was sold when we went into adminstration so he could of bought it back without us knowing. to put a casino on ER u need plaining permission off the council and the owner if bates dont own it does any1 know what the crack is with ER thanks

Believable2 Unbelievable5

I don't think anyone knows who owns it but I would put a cheeky £50 on bates owning it

Agree0 Disagree0

Elland road was sold to a manchester property developer who sold it a few years later to teak trading corporation based in the virgin island tho bates doesnt seam to be connected to this company many think that that he does through a third person why else spend a fortune developing something you dont own

Agree0 Disagree0

The Krasner/Morris/Levi consortium sold it to Jacob Adler prior to selling club to Bates. Adler has since sold this on to an Investment company in the British Virgin Isles. The Investment company will never disclose their ownership hence why they are based in BVI.
Casino is a separate issue. Leeds are one of 4/5 bidders for the licence in Leeds. If they are successful a casino will be built in place of the west stand. All building will be paid by the Developer and Leeds will get a new west stand as part of the deal at ZERO cost. It will require planning permission and Landlord consent (consent from the owner). As with other work at ER it is not unusual in for companies to spend money on assets they don't own - most commercial property is owned by pension and investment funds.

Over the last few weeks I have observed from a distance the rumours regarding investment and/or take over of your club. Subject to a few minor issues a statement will be made in the next 2 days that your club, ground and associated facilities will be owned by a significant Chinese enterprise with the goal of promoting LUFC as a global brand. Their objective is that within 10 years LUFC will equal the brand of MU. In 12 months time your pre season games will not be in the West Country but in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen. Not only is this consortium planning to invest in LUFC but are also negotiating with Leeds University regarding the suplly of funding in research.

Can we go to Cornwall again instead please?

Interesting read. Dont believe it for a second but at least its not the same thing over and over again like the other rumours of the last 2 weeks.

Agree0 Disagree0

The "distance" you have been watching from must have been the moon, as this is probably the most ludicrous rumour to date.
Thanks for another pointless post In what is a frustrating time for LUFC fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Love to be true but come on, using terms like YOUR club just screams trying to hard to make it sound real.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha love it when people try to sound "Official".

Yet another in the know poster, it seems every man and his dog knows all the details of these talks.

Just doing a little bit of research and Shenzhen does have some links with Hong Kong.

And The university of Leeds has signed a Memorandum of understanding with the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Could it be possible!

Agree0 Disagree0

How long of a distance? Sounds like you're not on the same planet as the rest of us.

Put a name to yourself, give us a clue as to your authority and there is a possibility your remark would be plausible.
Obviously you're not a supporter, your remarks "your club" give that away.
So, if you're not a fan, why the interest?
Why the "from a distance" stuff? and where the bloody hell did China come from? Althoughbeit that's the part of the world where all the money is at the moment.
Come on, show yourself less of the pimpernel stuff.

I heard preseason will take place on the moon if the americans come in, we all be leaving in the space shuttle........

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe this rumour, people will be hit from left field very soon. We will be mega rich, mega soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

It sounds too realistic to be made up though. we wont know what to believe. and for those who are slagging this guy off, the website is Leeds RUMOURS, not Leeds facts. Give the guy a break, he might be telling the truth for all we know.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice one, I do like a good Chinese. Pre season over there would be a hoot.
p.s.
Will this massive organisation pay the fans to go watch of they are that rich?

Agree0 Disagree0

Far too many rumours going around but if any are to be true this excites me the most as living in Shanghai my trips home to ER are now few and far between. There is some serious money invested in football over here but also a more murky side with fixed matches and betting scandals...... but nothing quite as murky as our current ownership!

Nothing coming into ER, but Clayton deal almost done with Burnley fee at £825K

More depressing news, that all we need

Believable11 Unbelievable8

That will be buying 2 new players knowing Ken.

If any transfers do go through then we know that the takeover is off.

Leeds linked with Rangers Steven Naismith and Rhys Mcabe. I live in Bearsden near Murray park and my dad works with Rhys Mcabe's dad who told him there has been interest for both his son and Naismith. The reason they haven't signed is because they are waiting in the takeover being confirmed so there is evidence of the clubs push for premier league football.

Neilly...

Believable4 Unbelievable10

I also live in Bearsden and know the McCabe's, if you can give me the street name of where they live, I may believe you, if you can't then...ZZZZZZZZ (made up yet again)

My mate Toey at work his wife was talking to Ady whites mum white wants to stay but only offering him 2k a year pay rise

Believable9 Unbelievable8

2k a year? i know bates is tight but even he wouldnt offer some a raise of about £40 a week. And if you meant 2k more a week then he's greedy if he is complaining about an extra £100,000 a year at 21

Agree0 Disagree0

So thats only an extra £104,000 a year on top of what he earns.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think a few of the players agents thought that Leeds would back down, and give them a large pay rise.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's lucky to be getting a pay rise! I haven't had one for nearly 3 years

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a 2k per week increase, he is wanting 7k more. Settle at 5K ?

Agree0 Disagree0

If I was offered £2k a year wage rise I'd happily sign on the dotted line! All players need a reality check as there isn't the money around in these days of hardship.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well tbh an extra 2k a weeks enough for any player weve got! he needs to stop been so greedy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Assuming the figure is 2k per week, how much does Aidy's Mum think he should get paid?

Agree0 Disagree0

2k a year is a joke, but 2k a week depends on how much hes on to start with.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can your mate Toey, his missus and White's mother let me know seven random numbers between one and 49 in time for tonight's EuroMillions draw please?

Cheers!

I'm an electrician from York massive Leeds fan and I'm working in Chelsea's training complex in cobham a lot of the talk today is that Leeds have put a cheeky bid in for Chelsea striker lukaku and only pay around 10% for his wages. The Belgium striker has recently expressed his views on a loan move. Could be worth a go tall and very strong so I hear

Sparky white

Believable11 Unbelievable9

Will not happen, he was top scorer in the Belgian league at 17, he will go to a prem club for loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact he was bought for 20 million plus I think he will have better options than us mikeire

Agree0 Disagree0

He's going on loan to weirder bremen as part of the Marko Marin deal
