Heard a rumour that Mike Ashley has told Alan Smith to leave in Jan, Ashley wont pay him off, but has told him he wont play for Newcastle again.
Again, Leeds interested, but rumour is more money and longer deal from the USA, sop Smith likely to go there.

Stop talking sh*t about 'he went to scum' 'hes a money grabber' get over it!! IF he improves the team lets get him......larry said before that he would have him. We all know one thing..... He would give his heart and soul every game and that's what we need if we got any chance of going up.

Why would bates pay for a injury prone never has been? Not going to happen, wish this was the last time this subject get brought up

I'd love to see him back.as for not playing for Newcastle he's made two premiership appearances for Newcastle this season from the bench. All be it picking up yellows.however he's a ball winner so he's always gonna pick up yellows.wud be a lot better than brown,I like brown but he can't seem to play more than one game a month. Smith definately has no future at Newcastle, and he can go on for another 4 year yet at least. Leeds registered interest, spoke to smiths agent, nearly had a deal until Newcastle asked for a £1m wage contribution and bates n grayson quite rightly told Mike ashley thanks but no thanks.this is a possible deal on January however keogh and pugh will top the list along with lichaj.

Blackburn Rovers and Wolves are set to make a move for Leeds United striker Ross McCormack in January
Should we sell him ? as hes conteacted with us till 2013 Gj
Believable15
Unbelievable16
No. def not, he has inputted alot into our team so far, he did go quiet but we know he can stick the ball in the net as it where and if we did sell him the money would go straight into the ground or papa smurfs pocket rather than where it should go-THE TEAM!
Agree0
Disagree0
Started the season well but has slipped back to last seasons form hen he was very quiet and couldn't get a game. Should only sell if we are bringing in a quality player. With Howson, Nunez and possibly Somma available for that position playing just behind Becchio we could afford to lose him if we brought in a quality holding mid fielder. Cover at RB/CH would be a bonus if we brought in more than one player. Dont know how bringing in McCarthy on another loan period will affect possibilities for outfield recruitment. However transfers haven't been our strong suit over recent years with one or two notable exceptions. Depends on how KB/SG see it.

For godsake! McCormack is a great finisher n striker, better off at our club. Last season he never got a chance, so write that off, this season he's spearheaded our attack well.. every striker goes through goal droughts, he should be playing off becchio. Not benched or sold!

Would be interesting to know how much Leeds value him at..! however we should keep him

Confirmed: YEP-
Leeds United have extended the loan of Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy for another month.
Great news, shame it's just another month though...or maybe, just maybe, we will ry to buy him in Jan?
Believable17

Don't think Reading will let him go... he's one of the best young goalies around. I hope will buy him, though...

Where is lonergan? how long is this injury keeping him out for?
Agree0
Disagree0
This is brilliant. He could be the key for us in an important part of the season. Christmas is always tricky, lots of games etc, need a sturdy GK.
Agree0
Disagree0
Lonergan is due back, McCarthy won't be allowed to play against Reading, but would be a useful deputy keeper for Lonergan if Reading are prepared to allow that, I thought the proviso was he could only go on loan if he played first team games, for experience?
Agree0
Disagree0
I think you can assume he'll be first choice, he wouldn't come to Leeds to sit on the bench, he could do that at reading. Tough on Lonergan, but it's hard to argue he's a better goalie than McCarthy.
Agree0

Agree with the above. Tough break on Lonergan, bur McCarthy has done more than enough to keep the number 1 spot if available.
Agree0

He will be first choice results started looking up when he came in new no1 fingures crossed put you hand in your pocket bates get some trust off the leeds fans get him on a perm + 1 right back 2 centre backs a 1 left winger pugh is good no pace tho and a 20 goal a season striker and send keogh back to wolves they dont mind if they dont score so he will fit in well
