LEEDS UNITED have one interested party that is led by a Bahraini supporter

Believable13 Unbelievable8

There were 4, 1 interested party conducting due dilligence

Agree0 Disagree0

Evening ED / everyone can anybody shed some light on whats going on at our fantastic old club cause at moment I don't know what the name of gods going on one moment were getting pissed at each other for talking same sh..e about same ole same transfer targets and who's who of buyers no suddenly everythings gone scarely quite anyone got any REAL news .
Thanks ED/ALL ...WINGY MK MOT for life

Agree0 Disagree0

NW has got a few more signings up his sleeve yet. If he signs pelted he's basically replaced the whole defence, I still think he's got a few more to got yet, he likes his creative wingers...I reckon all is still going to plan

Agree0 Disagree0

All so called rumour's once again, no one know's who the prospective buyer is that's for sure...Mr Bates is said to own 70 odd percent of the share's who own's the rest ? as usual shrouded in mystery ! I can only imagine how difficult it must be for new potential buyer's to do their due diligence.
Forest takeover done let's hope our's can be concluded soon, we all know football club's can not be run like any other business, just ask Mr Bates ? football fan's are only interested in what happen's on the pitch, balancing the book's is not in their remit, owning a football club with a proud tradition need's an owner with very deep pocket's who is not interested in making money from purchasing such a club, but merely using it as a means for his or her publicity or even tax issues. But as Leeds fan's do we care ? do we bollock's spend as much of your money on our great club as you like !!

Paddy HAS SIGNED its on O/S.

Believable11 Unbelievable6

So much for that person saying he will not sign - How silly does he feel now

paddy kenny's signing has just been announced on the OS....didnt see that one coming!

Believable10 Unbelievable8

Are you an idiot, every leeds fan has known this for the past 2 months! {Ed045's Note - I think he was being sarcastic...

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's be honest if a multi-billionaire was taking controll ov Leeds u wouldn't be signing freebies n oaps wiv a season or two left! If I was you I'd be gutted at signing the likes of drury n green it wouldn't surprise me if u got radebe or yeboah next lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Go on warnock keep them coming! Fantastic signing! Our for the first time in years were going to be solid at the back.

Danny LUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Who get away with you cant see paddy signing it would be like getting messey
he he he

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you daft, this was the worst kept secret, honestly i sometimes wonder who i share my support with!

Agree0 Disagree0

If they're good freebies, then who we are owned by is irrelevant.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeboah would still score more goals than paynter...

Stockport white

Agree0 Disagree0

Only time will tell if the likes of Kenny, Green and Drury are shrewd signings or not. At the moment we don't know if Green is going to be our best midfielder or 4 best midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

I make you wrong in the prem maybe but in our league experience is key and we have signed proven people who have and can get out of this leauge. really pleased with who nw has signed he knows what he is doing which is why he had done it so many times...more of the same please mr...sorry sir NW

Agree0 Disagree0

Makes sense to me me having these type of players cheap and cheerful they can do a job. If we do get promotion its not a problem then if we need to sell them on or let them leave. Better than spending millions and been stuck where we are now with bigger wages going out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unbelievble some people who reply on here ,has nobody heard of sarcacism and a bit of northern wit

Agree0 Disagree0

For all the people giving the original poster grief, give your heads a shake - think their comment may have had just a hint of sarcasm in it! AB

Agree0 Disagree0

Brilliant sarcasm mate.... and i think most people would have got it!!

Daily Telegraph says Notts Forest new owners are interested in Warnock!!

Believable10 Unbelievable11

Warnock wont leave now, he's brought 4 of his targets in, kenny is his right hand man and pearce has been a long term target for him since he started at rangers, so why would he leave when leeds have got his targets? Not gunna happen, looking forward to a successful season at lufc, in warnock we trust

Kershaw28

Agree0 Disagree0

Thay mite be but i cant see
i dont think thay have as mutch money as thay think im thinking millions not billions

anyway you cant make a silk purse out of a pigs ear
gazza

Agree0 Disagree0

Take a look at the OS and look at Warnocks face on the Paddy Kenny news item. Does he look like he's wanting to leave Leeds and go to Forest??

Agree0 Disagree0

Paddy Kenny has just signed for Leeds, Warnock is going nowhere.

TeejLUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Total bo**cks pal its a spent rumour. Why sign Kenny on a three year contract then go elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

Crap publication, spouting out rubbish and you're doing the same

Agree0 Disagree0

They will be interested because he is part of who will hopefully be one of their biggest financial adversaries of the championship this season, I'm sure if our T/O was already completed it would be a similar story of us trying to take the best from them prior to theirs been completed. Let's take it as a compliment, and look forward to the Leeds Vs forest games which I believe will be as big as they can be in this league this year, two massive sleeping giants preparing to re awaken and put themselves back at the top. I also think if warnock wasn't staying he would of talked to kenny and held of any deal till he was sure where his own future was, and since it's happened it will be at Leeds for sure! MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Old news, warnock said on Yorkshire radio last week that he was offered forest job but turned it down.

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't make a silk purse out of a pigs ear.

Why didn't you say that earlier. You could have saved me hours.

Agree0 Disagree0

He said last week he had been approached for the Forest job but turned it down

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock going to forrest, thats one free transfer i dont mind

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont know how you can class forest in the same brackets as us if we was cars we would be a rolls and forest a scoda a second hand one at that

Paddy kenny has signed for Leeds so dnt no what people are on about it's on sky sports news signed for 400,000

Believable10 Unbelievable7

It's also NOW on the OS, so we can believe it. Hopefully this will stop any more 'Kenny joining' posts....

There is no takeover and Paddy Kenny is not signing.

Believable13 Unbelievable19

Is this ken bates posting? name your source !how do you know?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you post such rubbish, are you just trying to wind people up. Stop being so negative

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you know? If you have got confused about the 1pm thing, it might be that there is an announcement within lufc and we will find out later. I think Kenny will sign today, would be surprised if he doesnt and I think there will be a takeover but not today

Agree0 Disagree0

Your going to look a right melt when he does at some point today :)

YM

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, you say you only post plausible rumours. This is total inflammatory crap ! {Ed045's Note - Until the ink is dry on the contract, it is unfortunately as plausable as any other rumour on here. I do however believe that PK will sign and the takeover will be completed, but the latter possibly not today.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you will find that some due diligence is taking place at the moment, so a real possibility that there maybe a take over. A bit blinkered to just state that there is no take over ! Unless you are Papa Smurf which I doubt, probably just a Billy with nothing else better to do.
As for Kenny, strong rumours a £400k deal has been done.
Are you the chosen one with all the knowledge ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Congrats this is the most solid proven comment to be ever made on this site!! (Like how you don't leave your name, who you support etc)

Agree0 Disagree0

And you know this because..........?

All the other sources suggest otherwise so I suggest you go back to your pen and be good

Agree0 Disagree0

Must be a very inpatient individual this lad! 9 minutes late on the 1pm announcement and it is all doom and gloom, have some faith mate, it will be all white on the night. MOT

The D man

Agree0 Disagree0

thats why he is at thorpe arch as we speak?

Agree0 Disagree0

Been a Leeds fan to long to believe any good news until its fact but you seem more like a cheesed of Man u fan to me MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't realise Sir Alex Ferguson posted on this rumour site.

Agree0 Disagree0

You got the raction you wanted mate - talking utter crap does that

Agree0 Disagree0

So what happened to the 1pm announcement? Why do it never run smoothly for us?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont you feel foolish now PK is confirmed as a leeds player

George LS13

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenny has been confirmed on the OS...bet you feel a bit silly and embarassed now

Agree0 Disagree0

Well dont you look like a tool sin as tho kenny has signed and the new owner is from the royal family of bahrain! reliable source of yorkshire evening post!

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you for real !!!!? People like you are not well one with your doom and gloom . Super Leeds Mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Makes you look a bit daft now Kenny has just signed - obviously a WUM with nothing better to do with your time, get a job and a life

Bahrain’s Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa is being reported in the YEP and Gulf News to be in Europe this week and is strongly linked with a deal to takeover Leeds. A cursory look on the Internet shows that Al Khalifa was at Wimbledon last week, so he's in England. Perhaps a trip to Leeds before flying home?

Believable14 Unbelievable12

Just heard that Neil Warnock will be at the city Ground this Saturday? Does this mean we will end up with Steve cotterill? Any news on this ED. {Ed045's Note - Where did you hear this? the first I've heard of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Does anyone know how much this guy or his consortium is actually worth?

Agree0 Disagree0

Or perhaps he went to Wimbledon because he's already over here conducting 'due diligence' maybe?

Who knows, wait and see......

Agree0 Disagree0

OP, stop listening to the voices inside your head, they're making you look a bit sad

Agree0 Disagree0

Highly doubt it. same old leeds build you up and let you down. once again no activity in the market all but pearce and freebies. when the market closes the apparent takeover will have fallen through with mr awkward i.e bates not budging!

Agree0 Disagree0

For those of you slagging the op layoff he is telling the truth it is all over football 365 and gulf weekly Quote "Al Khalifa is in europe at this moment on business and is unavailible to comment on this matter at this time" this quote is from a relative of his and may not exactly say hes buying leeds but the man is a leeds fan wanted ta buy us a couple of years ago i believe we have finally found who are mystery buyer is and when it comes true remember the lad up top u were slagging

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct me if im wrong but is this not the guy who was meant to takeover 10 years ago but didnt and stood by watching the club burn!?

Agree0 Disagree0

All just coincidence, its actually the bloke from Mike carpets! Team will be crap but planning to replace turf at ER with a nice beige twist pile....happy days MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Great this cloak and dagger stuff...making the pre season go faster...who care who buys us, who cares how much they are worth, who cares if we all have to wear towels on our head....WE ARE LEEDS....just dump ya money, get rid of Bates and make the beer cheaper...job done!

I thank you....i'm here all week!

Agree0 Disagree0

He did try put in a bid also but because he didnt have highest or the best bid availible to creditord it wasnt the preferred bid

Straight out of GULF WEEKLY

LEEDS UNITED last night moved a step closer to a change of ownership after it was confirmed the club, which plays in the second tier of English football, have entered ‘a period of exclusivity’ with one interested party believed to be led by a Bahraini supporter, writes Stan Szecowka.
Officials have been in discussions for several weeks with a host of would-be suitors over a possible buyout.
Among those bidding to get involved in one of the fallen giants of European football have been groups from the US and Canada, plus serious interest from at least one consortium with links to the Gulf region.
Various names, including members of Bahrain’s ruling family, have been bandied about by international media and online fan forums but no-one has confirmed being involved.
The group of Middle Eastern investors, with links across the region, are expected to complete a takeover of Leeds United this week, according to the latest reports.
It is believed to be headed by Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, a lifelong supporter of Leeds who was previously linked with a failed takeover of the club in 2003.
Back then he told reporters: “I fell in love with the club when I was 11-years-old when Leeds played Chelsea in the 1970 FA Cup Final. Leeds mean everything to me, I was born to support them. Those who are closest to me, my friends and my family, know what Leeds United mean to me.â€
Friends of Shaikh Abdulrahman say he is currently visiting Europe and is not available to comment.
United’s complicated ownership structure – Ken Bates owns 72.85 per cent but mystery surrounds who has control of the remaining shares – plus neither its Elland Road stadium nor Thorp Arch training ground being under the club’s control, means putting a timescale on a deal being concluded is difficult.
Manager Neil Warnock, however, who took Queens Park Rangers into the English Premiership when the side was sponsored by Gulf Air, is likely to be buoyed by the news that the drawn-out saga is edging closer to a conclusion.
The club statement read: “Leeds United can confirm they have granted an exclusivity period to enable a potential investor to carry out the appropriate due diligence.
“It is anticipated this will be a fairly straightforward process. A confidentiality clause prevents the club from making any further comment.
“However, our discussions with them have left us very comfortable that they have the financial resources to support the club and that they will have no issues in satisfying the requirements of the Football League’s Owners and Directors Test, unlike many of the previous approaches we have had to endure.â€
Leeds United Supporters’ Trust chairman Gary Cooper told BBC Radio Leeds he understands the consortium bidding to invest in the club is from the Middle East.

Believable15 Unbelievable7

I'm guessing that as a member of the Bahraini Royal Family, this guy is loaded, so... bring it on!!

Agree0 Disagree0

So even the Gulf Weekly have no idea at all really, even they have resorted to digging up old news and old quotes. They even have to rely on LUST for linking the purchaser to the middle east. Truly great investigative journalism at its best, I can see a Pultizer winging its way to the Gulf as you read....

Agree0 Disagree0

Loaded?. Zara Philps is a member of our Royal Family... does that make her loaded?. Wake up Guys, it looks like we have a minor relation of a Royal family with "Walter Mitty" dreams.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shiekh abdulrahman is in fact not all that wealthy at all. He currently holds no position in the Bahrain government, I am hoping he has persuaded some of his more illustrious members of family to form a constortium which has allowed him to be the front man.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigger picutre isn't there a lot of problems there like in eygpt what happens if they are over thrown there is a lot going on internally in bahrain regards human rights abuses. i know footie is a different thing just wonder if it is true regards this person buying leeds and they get overthrown where would that leave us then? just a negative thought i know but the implications could be massive !

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm guessing that this is just someone who has put a load of hearsay together and come up with - nothing concrete!

Still up in the air till it happens.....

Agree0 Disagree0

As been mentioned before, because of various human rights issues in Bahrain its highly doubtful that Sheikh Abdulrahman or anyone fronting a bid by him would pass the FA fit and proper persons test to run the club.

Shame though because as the person above says he must be minted and could really take the team forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are we all missing something is there some truth to the British Front man story, this would then cover the human rights issues if he was CEO of a company funded by "outside" money...only a guess but

Agree0 Disagree0

If it had a British or Australian or Outer Mongolian front man, the FA still wants to know where the money is coming from to fund the club, thats part of what the fit and proper test does, so having a 'puppet' front man for a Bahraini takeover would still fail.

How would you feel if we got taken over with a British CEO, but the cash came from a chinese gangster who made his money from child labour and drugs. Is this ok as it's fronted by a Brit.

Leeds to sign Paddy Kenny, Luke Varney, Lee Peltier and Lewis McGugan after takeover!
TOM MOT

Believable18 Unbelievable8

Kenny signing today after his medical, that was already reported by SSN.

Agree0 Disagree0

Low quality signings ! This type of player WILL NOT get us out of the Championship. We could have 3 players from a relegated team and one who could not get in his team at Championship level last season.

Just heard forest taken over and our chances have gone.

Believable9 Unbelievable9

Dont think forest being taken over will make any diference to leeds their new owner was never interested in buying leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because some Kuwaiti fridge seller has bought Robin Hoods merry men doesn't mean our deal is off. Nothing has changed. It's gonna be all white on the night

Agree0 Disagree0

Numpty!, he was never buying us and he hasnt any cash anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you thought it might be a different person taking over.

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't know that we were looking ot take over Nottingham Forrest?

Agree0 Disagree0

Different people we have known this all along. Keep up

Agree0 Disagree0

Who told you that ?

We signed a confidential agreement with possible new owners. NFFC new owner has been in the press since it began

No news is good news because it means they have not pulled out

Agree0 Disagree0

Why have chances gone? Stay positive. White4Life

Agree0 Disagree0

What makes you think Leeds were stupid enough to enter into negotiations with their buyer anyway?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just heard the man that took over forest has not got as mutch money as thay think thay are not oil people forest fans think there the next man city dhooo

Agree0 Disagree0

Chances are only gone if it was the same group who were interested in both clubs. That would seem unlikely with due diligence in 2 places at the one time. Prob the difference is that the Woodlanders don't have the Norman Bates factor!

Agree0 Disagree0

What chances have gone?
Pray, enlighten us.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

How can the new owners of forest have no money when theyve just bought the club and are one of Kuwaitis richest family's? Jealous springs to mind

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody now's if the new owners of forrest are rich, but wat is strange is dat they have know net worth up?and left oneclub for another dat would worry me,, but its not our club so who cares ,m,o,t?
