I honestly don’t get some fans expectations of strikers. Rutter has only just arrived, hasn’t even started a game yet and talking of 35 Mil as if your paying for a word class striker. It’s pretty obvious that they bought in Rutter for his potential he’s only a kid and only played a couple of professional football seasons.
When Rodrigo came in, after less than half a season most fans wanted to get rid of him, in fact for a long period he has been considered one of our worst expensive buys, and now that he’s injured we are definitely going to be relegated because he’s the only one who scores goals. ! Summerville also has now become the new barn door Bamford, fans have now forgotten the six points he has given us from the late goals against Liverpool and Bournemouth.
Even Rashford bacon is scoring in every game he plays, where was he the last 3 seasons?
There’s probably been a number of people who know a thing or two about football who believe Georgino Rutter will be a top striker one day, that doesn’t mean it will be straight away but patience is required and a decent coach to guide him.

Mostly a good post but don't understand the where was Rash comment. Last season a bad one for him as only 5 goals but season before 20 odd goals, season before that 20 odd goals. So where was he? Scoring goals. Nevertheless, no-one should be critical of Rutter. Give boy time. Probably by tomorrow he'll have played same amount of halves for Leeds as there have been managers! My boy Jimmy is immune to criticism. Love him.

Fair point George my mistake but my point as you rightly point out, only five goals for Rashford last season and that’s for a England international. Strikers do peak and trough even the top class ones
Despite Marsch claiming that Rutter would hit the ground running which just shows his naivety as a coach, he will have time to prove his potential, we will see.

I agree with you also on the Rutter comment OP, can't be easy for a young lad with a whopper price tag on his back .
Not of his making, but he will feel the pressure of that .
On Jimmy, my comment to you yesterday about Jimmy was in respects of had it been paddy then he would have been thrown to dogs for those misses .
But I thought Jimmy wouldn't and that seems to be correct .
It all goes back to 1 key fundamental really . We can't seem score without Rodi now! And he can't carry our entire goal stats on his own sadly.

We’re all frustrated by the lack of goals Chris, but there’s a reason why we are near the bottom and chances not going in. Some may call it bad luck but for me it’s just plain confidence and belief thing. Even though you can see we are working very hard the negativity and pressure is entrenched. It’s all about breaking that cycle and believing every time you take a shot or head the ball at goal, it will go in.
Bamford, Jimmy and Willy all had chances yesterday and they will be desperately disappointed that they didn’t convert them, make it happen I say. It’s simply a mind over matter thing as much as Rashford couldn’t score last season and now suddenly he is with the confidence of his team riding high.
Chin up and f@@king believe you can do it.

Call me old fashioned. I just expect goalkeepers to save shots. Defenders to try and prevent them. Midfielders to prevent unnecessarily bothering defenders and at the same time setting up an attack on goal. And finally.
Strikers to score goals. Don’t care how old he is and how long he has been here. In my view. 35 mill should get you goals. Now. Not when his balls have dropped.
