Reading rumour site and got me thinking. The academy is best left to homegrown talent I reckon. Splashing the cash for all those ones for the future a waste of money. Ours and most academies drip feed maybe 1 or 2 first teamers every 4 or 5 yrs. The money could be better used elsewhere.
Off to watch Perth scorchers in big bash later and then Leeds tonight. Hoping and thinking two wins.

Maybe Brentford would be struggling a bit more given Toney was banned like we all know any Leeds player doing what he’s been doing would be and no doubt more significantly than his ban will be. It’s a joke he isn’t suspended.

Don’t know what the current status on Toney’s charges are? Certainly they were trying to establish whether he had been betting on his own team Brentford where if found guilty would lead to a probable 6 month ban from playing.
Does anyone know where this current accusation stands? maybe the Ed’s can shine some light on it?
{Ed001's Note - it is impossible to say, like any kind of legal case it takes time to get the evidence together and make sure they have proof. It is likely to be after this season before there is any change.}

Toney had until the 04th January to submit his defence against the many hundreds of alleged betting breaches. However with full support of the PFA union he is able to ask that each and every allegation are treated managed on individual case by case basis!
Whether this will be permitted or seen for what it is a deliberate attempt to delay his ban, it’s very possible any punishment final decision could still take a considerable length of time even post the end of the current season.

Aus Your view on the academy backward. Generally, helping the youth is very important in the game. Many people like to watch second tier EPL fixtures. The savings you can make on emerging talent and then future profit you can secure very important running an expensive business. Joffy, Greenwood and Hjelde have done well and worth far more than we paid for them. Cellino shut down the academy. His tenure worked out well, didn't it?
