Watching the Cardiff game, seeing the injuries we regularly pick up, then reflecting on why we have had so many of the injuries over the last few seasons I began to think how many of these are not as a result of contact and maybe down to the pitch or playing surface
There were definitely times when the pitch did not allow the players to slide across the surface very easily, maybe for Rodrigos goal celebration he appeared to get caught
Again when Wober and Llorente landed they seemed to go over very easy?
If I remember we bought the pitch cheap from the spuds
Maybe the training pitches and the Elland road surface are too dissimilar .
Do any here think this maybe the case.

We got a pitch for the 'cheap'prive of about £200k one mid-season when the surface was really bad, but then ripped it up and laid a new state of the art pitch at the end of the same season so it shouldn't be the fault of the pitch. Around the pitch is AstroTurf and that is what Rodders ran into for his celebration but the pitch was looking really bad on Weds so goodness knows. Maybe Orta picked the groundsman as well?

Re the injuries, when I see them in the hotel before a match. apart from Gnonto they all look like stick insects.

I think I suggested something similar a while back 70, not just ER, but TA too.
The training pitches at TA are very unforgiving, plus a lot of time is also spent on the indoor pitches if the weather is too unforgiving. Probably just me looking too deeply again though! ??.

Not sure if this applies at Leeds but….
Many top clubs spends fortunes on ensuring both the training pitches and stadium pitch are exactly the same surface.
Not just in size, but in firmness, root zone, length of grass etc.
This is all tailored to suit the style of play and the majority of the players within that squad.
In recent years, Leicester prepared their pitches to suit Vardy and his pace/ style of play.

Not sure we’re that organised but many PL teams are.

Pretty sure Bielsa oversaw them being exactly the same. No way a perfectionist like that would miss it out.
