Think in the same way as Bielsa’s appointment sent out a very strong message from us, Emery is that statement from Villa. He will be very expensive, but in my view, is a fantastic coach, and tactician, and it would not surprise me to see villa in Europe next season, whatever that route entails. (Not the CL tho! ) It didn’t work at Arsenal, but he wasn’t given the time that Arteta has been. My money is on Villa improving quickly.

Could hardly call him a flop in the premier league OP, he finished 5th just after taking over from wenger missing out on champions league cause of 1 result, plus the dressing room was supposedly quiet toxic at that point, PEA scored 31 goals in his system that year his career highest ever in a season. i'm quiet optimistic on this one but we will have to wait and see I guess.

Think it’s potentially an excellent signing for Villa, Whack, I’ll even admit I’m a little jealous that you have the financial clout to attract such a high profile manager.
I mean, hopefully he’s an unmitigated disaster for you, ?but we simply don’t have anything like the financial clout your owners posses, so it is never an option for ourselves, until we win the Euromillions or find a rich owner.

On the contrary Class, the combined wealth OF BOTH OUR OWNERS IS OVER £4 BILLION, let's not forget the 9'ers are shackled with their level of investment by the main man .

As far as I know our owners are 3rd or 4th richest in the premier league so it’s a nice position to be in.
OP I’m not sure about the boards expectations but from what I hear from fans it’s “steady improvement this season and next and hopefully be in the top 8 shake up after that” I think had gerrard even done slightly better he would of got more time but if anything we have gotten worse under him. he was always a risk to be fair, once again he SLIPPED up ??.
