I've stolen this from faceache, but a lot of it rings true to me, despite my earlier post. How much time, is enough time for a manager to deliver. As this guy says, it used to be much longer, but due to the financial implications of a drop from the PL, and the risks it entails, patience is at a minimum.

. "I'm not a fan of getting rid of a manager after not even a full season.
Alex Ferguson had three of four seasons before he won anything of significance. It's a good job they didn't sack him after nine months, isn't it?

Mikel Arteta has been Arsenal's manager for three seasons and he's only now starting to mould the team into a premier league force.
It took the great Don Revie eight years to bring the title to Leeds.
It takes a long while for a manager to bring in the players he wants. At least three or four transfer windows. Then he's got to get those players playing the system and style he wants them to play.

All the great managers took years to build their squads and get those players playing like it's second nature to them.
certain clubs can take a shortcut because they have billions at their disposal. Leeds doesn't have that luxury.
So I'm in favour of giving managers at least three seasons. Even if it means getting relegated to rebuild and come back stronger. It's how clubs build lasting legacies.
Unfortunately, the game is ruled by the moneymen now and Jessie will probably walk if he doesn't start pulling things around soon.
I like Jessie because he has a genuine passion for Leeds And I believe that given enough time and support he will bring Leeds a lot of success.

So for me, Jessie hasn't had anywhere near enough time. After all. Most of these losses have been down to player's errors and not managerial mistakes. The players and Jessie won't see this post but I want to send my full support and encouragement. ".

Sorry Brightie, no manager these days will walk, prefer to be sacked and get a big fat pay off, the big boys who are pretty much assured of prem football each season can give managers 3 seasons, unfortunately we can't afford to give him 3 seasons on these current showings. In regards his passion, sorry but surely as the manager he should show passion especially for the wage he takes home, and yes player errors but who puts those players on the pitch, i respect your views mate,

In principle Bright you are spot on but sadly these days the vast amount of money involved in football won’t allow for time or patience.

I don’t think we should get too obsessed and downtrodden with how we feel about our club at the moment. Football can be like a rollercoaster at times, you only have to look at some of the results to confirm that. A slight change in our fortunes could see us leap into the top half of the table in a very short space of time. Nothing is a given in football and I do want to believe that JM can still make a go of it and get us into a more comfortable position in the league.
We do create chances and I think we do have a half decent squad who can get us the results we need.
Time will tell on this but obviously if we do continue to get beaten on a regular basis then something has to change.

Lots of good points there Bright, but got to agree with Richie on this one.

I actually think he’s been found out this season, I also didn’t like the whole…. “I don’t care if they’re chanting my name (JM) this win is for all of us” after the Brentford game.

Then only this week, when asked about three games close together he said I’ve managed at champions league clubs who do that.

It’s all a little too egotistical for me especially after Bielsa however, I’ve stated previously, I could still have given him until the World Cup break to turn things around, until he didn’t acknowledge our fans after the Leicester game.

But the most valid counter argument is who replaces him if he goes?

Tomorrow’s game feels like waiting for a dentist appointment, history tells you it’s going to hurt but generally there’s an improvement in the long term over a sustained period of time.

Agree with the sentiment part Brighty, I also don't see logic in doing a Cellino on it now

But it's very easy to see the flaws in Jesses style of play, we are being crucified by the press by-pass and the lack of width in our play is also killing us, so yes the players are makit blunders but their also playing Jesses style and yet again we don't seem to know anything other than plan A .

Jesse seemingly has no answers to the press by pass as what happened vs the mighty Palace and Leicester etc

Furthermore once the supporters and especially the players lose confidence in a manager its a slippery slope to tbe exit door . even quicker if ( most of ) the players down tools as what happened with Bielsa and appeared to happen with JM in tne Leicester game

If Leeds somehow by luck or whatever beat both Fulham and then Bournemouth he will buy himself time for sure.

And if JM foolishly again selects Firpo and or Llorente he is finished

as winning is going to require scoring a min of 3 goals each match. which with our goal shy team is unlikely.

I completely agree with you bright that the manager should be given 3 season BUT only if it’s the right manager. Jesse has been found wanting recently and as others say he well above his station. Champions league football with a team from Austria is nothing compared to managing in the premier league week in week out.

I would of stuck with bielsa happily if it meant going down to come back up again but the problem with doing this with Jesse is, I simply don’t think he’s a good enough manager to bring us back up stronger.

Bring in poch and give him 3 years

Bring in Carlos give him 3 years

Keep marsch for 3 years and the clubs simply going backwards.

And even if we keep him, spend big in January and stay in the league I still don’t think he’s the man to take us forward or another manager wouldn’t of done a better job short / long term.
