Gnonto scores for the u23s tonight against Sunderland. Wait for the inevitable clamour to start him against Arsenal.

Yes Alf

BUT he is also playing for Italy full internationals

Sini must start against Arsenal instead of Rodrigo

And Gnonto needs to be playing or at least coming on as sub with 30 mins plus to play against Arsenal.

Agree Baz.

I managed to watch Sundays game last night. Wasn't all bad. Looked vibrant the first half. Individual error again from Cooper this time to give away the free kick. Was poor to give away and we were weak defending it, which is frustrating.

Looked a different team second half. Think we tired a little but moreso we didn't adapt tactically when they managed to start playing round us a little. Press worked great first 60 mins though. Second goal for them was a good goal tbh. Can't really blame anyone for that as it was nice play.

Adams, Kristensen Looked good all game. Aaronson looked great for 60 mins. Bamford still not sharp. He would've put one of those chances away if he were imo, instead he rushed one and took a very poor touch with another, but he does link play well and the team does look better with him up top rather than Rodrigo.

Not expe ting anything this weekend from Arsenal given each of our current form, but hoping we could nick a draw. Would be really happy with that at this stage. Definitely want to see Gnonto get some minutes.

But yeah, not as bad as I have seen some say on here, but the main thing is now its a winless streak of five games, so we do need to start taking out chances wheen they come. It's the difference between 3 points, which we could have taken Sunday being more clinical in the first half, taking one or taking none.

Dill I suggest you rewatch Palace's second and then tell me what on earth Cooper was doing.

At fault for both goals.

I with Alf for Ezè goal, . cooper very poor decision making .

Also Adams poor with ball, nothing created, Also can't see us getting anything at weekend .

Deja Vu.

Alf is 95% right! But occasionally with a lot of teams there are players that do make the jump quickly even in the prem! Willie could be the exception that proves the rule given His full international caps. Certainly think he’ll make the bench and get some minutes!

Seemed like good, quick build up play to me and then Eze fannied Cooper. Trouble was Cooper had to dive in front of that how he lined it up. Just did him with the fake. But yes, probably could have done better not turning his back so much. He really bit on the fake shot.

Silver lining this weekend. I guess at least if we go in with low expectations this weekend it's going to be a bit harder to get disappointed. Expect no points. 1 a bonus. 3 a f*cking miracle. Fingers crossed ?.

Mancini is looking to the future with selections and bedding players in. Gnonto one of those possibly for the future but only really gets a run out in nothing games against poorer opposition or off the bench in games already won. Plus the Italian press slated him after his last outing. None of this screams premiership ready to me. Yet.

11 Oct 2022 11:54:18
He didn't even have a bad game that last Italy game tbf. Thought the press were harsh on him. Average, but wasn't bad by any means.

Can only give him the opportunity and see how he performs. Hopefully he surprises a few of us.

The chuckle brothers have signed all these " promising " young players Gelhardt, Gnonto, Perkins, Joseph even Summerville . some/ all may well want to move on soon enough if NOT given 1st team chances .

JM ( and his likely soon successor
) should at least give some of them 1st team action this season 30 to 45 mins on from. the bench regularly especially if PB, Rodrigo, JH aren't doing it.

11 Oct 2022 13:08:36
Reckon Joseph gets a loan move next season.

Gelhardt, Summerville, Gnonto and Perkins all gone a get minutes this season.

If anything I'd say Gelhardt probably the one I think may push for a loan move in Jan if not getting enough game time. Hopefully he gets plenty and it doesn't happen, because he's always lively and a nuisance to defenders.

Ya the changes were just token gestures at weekend, we just couldn't find another way or even a good attacking period against a poor enough palace side .

Its worrying again that we seem to have just 1 way to play yet again . We desperately need to try and pick up a few wins from a few of our next games .

A lot easier said than done I know.

It’s very old school these days to suggest plans B and C.
Most of the top managers have an approach, and will stick to it, and really only effect change with a different player in the same position, but with a slightly different remit, unless extreme circumstances like a losing position in a cup final, or last minute attempt at avoiding relegation.
The days of “just look, he’s switched from a 442 to a 334!” Are long gone.
Only caveat I would add to my opinion, is switching to hoofball in similar situations as above.
