It's a dilemma for JM, we have a plethora of defenders but cannot/ do not know our best 4. Kristensenn is arguably getting better? but so far not the solid, yet marauding, FB that this system requires and whilst Firpo likes to raid may not be the most solid of defenders (can't even get a game at the minute) .
As for the CBs; we have 6 on the books but non have convinced consistently enough to make a shirt their own. It is now for JM to sort the wheat from the chaff and put his job on the line with a bold selection and give them time to bed in. As for my two pennuth Cooper is a top quality second division defender but at this level is a penalty waiting to happen. If beaten, without thinking, he defaults to shirt pull or trip which lower down or 10 years ago he may have got away with but now, in the Prem is unacceptable.
The most consistent defender is currently doing it out of position, so whether you move him back to his favoured role and gamble with Firpo is, luckily, way above my pay grade. Either way, the only definite to come out of today is that for all the gung-ho rhetoric that undoubtedly will be spouted the present form is relegation form.
PS I haven't even started on the lack of cutting edge creativity in midfield OR the blunt attack. (saved for another day! )

We have plenty of consistency at FB. Sadly it's consistently bad.
