Guys just thought I would share the views of a long-time fan, with a passion for Leeds, but little or no football knowledge and reliance on comments here and other information online.
I would also like to see a striker and left back signed, but am not so worried about the striker. I think we have young guys that can do the job covering for Bamford when he is injured. I also feel we will get more of a goal contribution from others this year.
I think Hjelde could do an OK job there, but would definitely prefer a specialist left back. Also, for me, being able to defend is more important than being able to get forward and provide/ score lots of goals (yes I am old) .
Talking about the young guys, everyone is talking about Geldhart and I agree with the high opinion with which he is held but, from what I have seen, Greenwood has impressed me more as being the one that could be a real eye-opener this season. I also think a couple of the new signings "for the future" will feature more than expected.
Summerville has also featured in comments, but again from what I have seen, he does not appear to me to be as mature in a footballing sense as the others and appears sometimes selfish in the way he plays. Undoubtedly he will be something special if he continues to mature/ develop.
Overall I think, despite the key player losses, we are stronger than last season, because there will be less reliance on one or two performers and we have more capacity to cover for injuries.
It is still going to be a roller coaster of a season, but I think my heart and nerves will cop less of a hammering than last year.
I don't think we will set the world alight by any means, but I think we will more consistently pick up points to keep us out of the danger zone (maybe 14th/ 15th) .

Good post Jungle, however I would disagree on the need for a top striker. We didn’t have Patrick most of last season and struggled to score more than 1 in most games. Joffy and greenwood do have big futures but are still developing and the need the help rather than the pressure to perform at this level.

Good post Jungle! I think you’re right about other youngsters creeping through this season. I reckon those you mention, plus the new lad Perkins will all feature strongly, and come the season end, we will be sat on more than a handful of very valuable gems!

Just to clarify Sweaty, I wasn't saying we didn't need another striker, just that for me, filling the left back position was more of a priority.
