By and large most players not up to match fitness yet on both sides. We do still appear to be susceptible on the counter attack, I suppose that’s always going to happen when you commit so many players forward, it was MB’s formula and still is with JM.
The pitch was dreadful too and didn’t allow for any free flowing football.
Don’t think the injuries were anything serious
Nothing spectacular in this game but moving slowly in the right direction.

Op, we are 2 weeks out now. from game time, let's be very honest here, we were fairly poor

We are going to concede a lot through transition next season, it's very visible already .

Looks as if sinisterra might miss opener, the 9 needs to happen immediately as We have the same issues up top albeit even worse as Bamford doesn't look ready imo .

At the end of day it's beating teams easy in pre season you learn nothing that way its difficult trying bed 6 new players in iam not trying get away with it will be a long season again let's try stay positive for the boys un jesse n staff mot.

Well it’s the way I’m thinking Mally, no point in panicking before the season has even started. As you correctly pointed out we’ve got quite a few newbies in and I’ve said this before, they will need time to adapt. Very few players come in and hit the ground running.
It’s that final third which is letting us down still, when the players can read each other better the goals will come. We could Harry Kane in our squad and he’d probably not get a sniff.
Be positive and let’s hope Jesse and the boys get it on.

Didn't se game but it's hard when you make so many changes to get any pattern of play all teams fail that exercise unless there playing nomads look at scum beating liverpoo 40 pool used 30 players games become stagnant.

Thing is though Mally we used more or less our main 11and were fairly dismal against a urine week Palace team.

We can't afford. a poor start this time around. When is the cutoff on CDK as it looks a bit cringe now?, 2 weeks to kick oftf and we got a proper striker In Yet and Paddy's form still remains worrying.

Chris - first half today had Forshaw (rather than Roca) with Adams on the double pivot, which clearly doesn’t work anything like as well, and we had Struijk at LB, which clearly limited our play down the left side. Having 2 right footed CBs didn’t help either - with his display today, Llorente shouldn’t be in the starting 11. Second half was nothing like our first 11 and I can’t foresee an occasion during the season when Klich is the furthest back at one of our corners - which is what led to their breakaway goal. As Marsch himself said, there is still lots to work on, and I trust that they will spend the next 2 weeks working on those things.

The cut-off on the CDK situation appears to be this Sunday or Monday at latest. Orta and co are evidently working on other options in the background, so we should see movement on the CF front this week, with the LB following shortly thereafter. I’m fairly sure the Club will hope to have both sorted before the last preseason game, next Sunday. To be clear, only the pro-AC Milan Italian media has ever suggested CDK is dead set on a move to that club alone and absolutely does not want to come to Leeds - so in what way is it a bit cringe to maintain an interest in signing the player who is our no1 target?

23 Jul 2022 07:44:04
A fair assessment Clu, the LB is a problem for Marsch and I get the feeling they are not going to buy a new one, it could be that he’ll want to get Struijk to fill that position until Firpo is back.
On CDK who would want a player who clearly doesn’t want to play for you and has his heart set on playing for a different club. Imagine if Leeds did buy him and in his press interview he more or less states I really wanted to play for Milan but I suppose Leeds will do. !
I can’t believe for one minute Orta is still engaging in talks for CDK.
It’s quite apparent that CDK did tick all the boxes for the type of striker Orta and Marsch had in mind, so the question is, who else does and is available. ?

23 Jul 2022 09:19:40
Vlu what else would Jesse say after watching that game?

Regardless. of who was playing where, you would have thought that our 1st 11 had enough. to cope with a very weakened place .

But very worryingly they hadn't.

23 Jul 2022 10:14:27
OP - what is the evidence that CDK absolutely does not want to play for Leeds - as I said above, only the pro-AC media in Italy have said that - with clickbait media over here happily regurgitating those ‘reports’. He obviously prefers the AC move because of Champions League, as most players of his quality, but clearly would be happy to come here, otherwise why would his agent have talked about wage terms etc with us.
