Watching highlights of Wales match, a foul on Ukrainian player in first 2 mins, Dan James runs up and tells ref to F off, yellow card. Rightfully given and doesn't need to get involved, he's starting to irritate me and hope we sell him, but don't think it will happen.

Maybe he’s suffering a little from PTSD from the season just gone - ref’s whistle and signaling foul must have triggered memories of all the times last season when a ref blew up for a Leeds foul just after one of our players had been wiped out just outside (or inside) the opposition box with nothing given. I seems to recall that quite a few of our record number of yellow cards last season were given for dissent for just that reason.

Through football history, there have always been volatile young players. The key is to help them mature, and channel that aggression in the right way. David Batty for example. Personally, I like that in a player, and a side always needs a couple of them, just so the ref has that doubt in his mind about every single decision. Obviously, someone of the stature of Vinnie is more imposing that the diminutive DJ, but hey ho! It was another aspect lacking under Bielsa; everyone had to be a gentleman.

I don’t think James has the self control of batty or Vinny. They knew exactly what they were doing. James is reckless. No idea.

Neither Batty or Vincent had ANY control earlier in their careers!
Batts was a liability in his early days in a Leeds shirt, and what can be said about the self control of Vinnie at Wimbledon? ????.

Dilli. I totally agree regarding the price! But that is now our crucifix to carry; develop him, and calm him, or lose big money on him? We nearly had him at a fair market price before the duffer Jenkins threw his phone int bog, but what we paid was crazy!
