I think the players do realize that they are making many errors, when the confidence is gone errors occur. It’s not like that can change at a click of the fingers.
If that were so so easy to change we wouldn’t be where we are.
The players have to rely on grinding out results if possible, usually Lady Luck has well departed when you’re scrapping with relegation also, the ref knows you’re in a desperate situation so is more likely to give decisions against you.
It’s like trying to walk up a hill backwards with your legs tied together.

Palace penalty that relegated Watford clearly demonstrated how when your down there in the Pooh it just piles on more.
Clear push in the defenders back caused his hand to contact with the ball but of course VAR did not get it right.
That being said the league table seldom lies and we’re in the relegation spot due to our poor performances over the entire season to date.
