Reading all the rumours of new recruitment and especially strikers, the latest is a return to Matej Vydra.
Whilst I do not doubt the quality of Vydra I believe the answer may be neearer home, with the upgrade to first team duties of the goal machine that is Ryan Edmundson. Surely he is woth a start in all the pre season friendlies to test him but, 17 or not, I feel he is ready.

Hope the vydra rumour is just that, hardly done anything at barca.

Edmundson will either be in or around the squad next season, or on loan in the championship. The boy has a great future. Forget Vydra.

Not sure Ryan is ready yet to leapfrog Roofe and Bamford as a premiership striker.! I think that’s the big difference about which league we are going to be playing in next year. If it’s the championship, Ryan and a number of the other under 23s will come into play over the summer. But if it’s the premiership, it’s a much bigger jump and there will be some challenging decisions on what’s best for some of them.

Vydra would deepen the squad quality and Bielsa likes him. That reason alone he should be on the radar. Cost always the issue. If you can get him for value, you do it in my opinion.

Not sure its a much bigger jump at all Spanish. U23s playing against a lot of premier teams U23s this season and against some first teamers from that division, and the way we have won this league tells me if Newcastle and Fulham U23s are in and around their first team why wouldn't ours be. even in the Premiership. Obviously will be harder for them but they are improving game by game. Cream rises to tje top.

Brightwhite, Edmundson has the makings of a awesome player, I see him in the squad next season to.

I always liked Vydra. He has always seemed an effective footballer.

I was shocked when he chose Burnley as it just didn't seem that he was their kind of player
Having Wood, Vokes and Barnes already in the squad I couldn't see Burnley suddenly adopting a free-flowing pass-and-move style of football just to accommodate 1 player.
Add to that 3 big strapping centre halves. I always assumed Dyche would be playing for set pieces

With our style, Vydra's movement and technical ability would have been more prominent and effective

Mind you at the time of the transfer, nobody was predicting how Biezla would transform our players

I fancy a cheeky loan-to-buy bid, well under the £11m they paid, for Vydra to come appreciate our brand of football.

Standard offer for him, a tenner and free chicken balti pies 😉.
