Actually they weren’t even bought . Just loaned . Three months wages to help with their promotion push is wise investment . Spanish I love your positivity and your posts are generally well informed . However, I think balance is required with our assessments . The fact is the team needed reinforcements to help our best chance of promotion in 15 years and for whatever reason the club’s management failed to deliver . Time will tell if it proves fatal . Don’t try to justify that MB only wanted DJ . The whole market both at home and abroad was open to the club to pinpoint players that MB would have signed off on .

Bub didn't even want James, he stated quite clearly, before the window opened, that he didn't want anyone but if the owners saw fit to bring someone in then he'd look at it.

I think if you look back at his press conferences he talked about replacing Saiz . His stipulation being that the player or players coming in be better than the ones at his disposal . Irrespective I said the “ club “ failed to deliver . If MB was part of this decision making then he also bears some responsibility as a member of the management team . He’s an amazing dedicated manager who has done wonders but is not beyond criticism if he was blinkered enough to think he could get by without strengthening. But I suspect that for whatever reason the players that Orta put in front of him as available within our price bracket didn’t appeal besides DJ .

Fair posts Aus and Red Hot, on the evidence of the James goal the other night, he would have been a good addition that would have strengthened the attacking options. Bielsas strength, how he is able to work with the players already here and his loyalty to the players can also be a weakness. It’s going to be a highly competitive run in and that team spirit and ability to keep going will be great assets.

Staffy That's a distortion of the truth. What you write was the initial stance but that changed and developed into "well if we do try bring someone in, they have to be better than what we have". The clear underperforming player was Harrison so Orta identified James and Bielsa approved.

Having a good season amounts to nothing if we don't get promoted and I agree its been great so far. But posters pointing out the obvious fact that the lack of investment is shocking. How we didn't invest in a loan signing in the window is mind numbing. Loads of fringe players in the Premier who wouldn't have minded being involved in a promotion push and raising their stature. It's like some want to ignore the obvious. And lastly its not bub who is running the club it's his job to work with the tools provided and if the owner strengthens the squad I'm sure he would have to accept it.

Bielsa has done a fantastic job with what he has had to work with and tbe catalogue of injuries we have endured. What we all have in common is we are all desperate to see the Club promoted, especially this year with our Centenary coming up. But I can understand fellow posters being disappointed with our lack of business in the Transfer Window, we missed out on the Play Offs under Grayson and Monk when no investment in the squad cost us. The thing that surprised me most was not replacing Saiz. Anyway we are still in a great position, so let's hope this is our year. MOT.

Spaniard Same concept for me just in the opposite direction as I agree with Whitey! I always said if we were up there by January a lack of investment by Radz would be criminal. I am of the same view now as I was back then. Others around us got stronger and don't look like dropping many points. Radz trusting his American mate to convince Jenkins to pick up the phone a feeble idea. Money up front makes business people move, not a friend of a friend thing. I was surprised we beat the Swans and can see us beating Trotters and Hoops but I am very concerned about our matches against Baggies Blades and Bristle.

George’s posts have been very consistent and I can understand your frustration during the January window.
Whiteman, shame the frustration with Radz’s 5 year plan has meant you missing some great football this year.
I’m sure we can both agree that we still want the team to be successful this year because of or despite Radz. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

I too was disappointed in no new acquisitions and the one target being missed over a trifling detail. If you wanted him stop arguing over petty detail. Go get him however at the end of the day we are well endowed in just about every department. It just means putting a little more trust in the squad and youth. So, yes I was disappointed in Jan but I trust the team (pitch and office) to deliver. Before any wailing and gnashing of teeth let's just wait for May. MOT
