Like I said to Gilesy, after his post about having been at the game, my point is that we continue to dominate teams, even with a poor first half, yet there remains so much negativity. We could’ve, possibly should’ve, had four, against the tightest defence in the division. If we continue picking up points in games that some deem to be “poor performancesâ€, we ARE going up! Those stats are typical of us week in week out. Our problem is that if you looked at the goal difference figures our average is being caught up quite quickly. We have an increasingly longstanding problem turning possession into goals. Roofe is no Depauy, Gayle or Sharp. Bamford or Brown to the rescue me hopes.

Should I call Bielsa and tell him because it’s been going on all season and it ain’t improving.
Just because we have rubbish loads of possession doesn’t mean we can miss more.

We have struggle most of the season to put teams to the sword as our ratio of chances made to goals scored is low. The difference earlier on in the season was that our defence was miserly. Now we have to score at least two goals to have a chance of winning a game as we inevitably concede (and usually first) .

We do not really have a goal threat for all the possession we have and chances we create. Look at the top two scorers for most of the top six and they are 10 goals ahead of our top two. Not just down to Roofe we need some one else to help out up front, hopefully Bamford or Browne can make a difference. Roofe not prolific and if we had some one else with 13 or 14 goals would have made this a lot easier. Thought Klich might have been it but inconsistent in front of goal. One of them needs to start letting loose instead of looking for the next pass.

From that it seems that actually the shots on target is a bigger issue. Boro has 3 out of twelve and we could only manage 4 out of 21. If we start hitting the target we wold surely score more goals. Maybe we are already shooting from too far out therefore giving away possession rather than awaiting a better chance to strike. Having more shots inst the way to address that.
