Looking back at Cellino's time at Leeds if in fact he is on his way out I think his time here, overall, has been one of the better periods over the last ten years or so. When talking with friends/other supporters most of the time when his name is mentioned I get 'he's a crook' and or 'he's bringing the club into disrepute etc etc. ' However, whilst he has made mistakes he has:

A) Eventually got the right manager for the longer term

B) We are in a healthier position and it has been said we are one of the better run clubs in the football league

C) Its enjoyable going to Elland Road now as it looks as if we are going forward

D) We may have a better pre season than in the past When Cellino arrived we were in a mess and he has improved matters no end I am sure some supporters will say it's down to Gary Monk. Without Cellino's backing there would be no Gary Monk at the club.

If AR turns out OK, Cellino will have done what Bates couldn't - leave the club in a better position with better owbners than we've had for a long time. Even the pie tax affair could be forgiven. If I had been getting the abuse Cellino and his family was getting I would have probably thought up something far more drastic.

It wouldn't be right but it would be understandable. All in all looking around the other clubs, with a few exceptions, we could have done a lot worse.

You're right Hess. I think unless you're a Leeds fan then you would be forgiven for thinking he's a nutter/crook or worse! I definitely haven't agreed with everything he has done but he leaves the club in a much better state than when he bought it, and I for one am thankful to Mr Cellino for that. 👏

Well said Hess, If Cellino hadn't saved us, from Bates plot, we would be gone. Sold to the only Arabs in the world with no money, they happily stripped us bare. He has made plenty of mistakes, but has us in better postion, finacally and a better team. With the appointment's being made at the club it all looking like a bright white future. MOT

Thanks MC for the roller coaster ride of memories. I and all LU fans (well most) are extremely grateful for what you've done for this great club. I'll buy you a beer if you ever pop into my local.

Wex You serious? 1. Continental style approach with coach. We're in England not Italy. 2. Under investment until summer window of 2016. 3. Under investment in January 2016b window. 4. Bizarre behaviour during certain press conferences. 5. Pie tax. Poor timing if nothing else. 6. Mcbadgekisser transfer. 7. Mismanagement of fan expectations generally. Don't get wrong Wex. He did good in the end. He found Radz. Will eventually be regarded as when Bates found Abramovich for chelski. I have no problem with cellino or his family.

always been a massive fan of MC, could see he knew his stuff and was successful with last club and would be with us. He took us at our lowest ebb, we had debt, no ground, GFH hanging on like leeches, poor sqaud with all our assest sold by bates and replaced by journey men freebies. We had a squad heading for league one and a bank balacned heading for luqidiation.

He saved leeds in the very literal sense, he turned the finaces round and took us out of a black hole and made us stable. he took us from unbuyable to a good business to invest in. He also did this while making us stronger on the pitch. he invested in squad, hired many managers but each one was an improvment on the last, he took us from heading to league one to just missing out on playoffs. yes he made mistakes but I would argue few indiviuals have been more important or better that him for leeds (two expectpions only being don and wilko) but unlike don and wilko he also improved on the pitch and in the bank.

I thank MC from the bottom of my heart and can not understand how anyone can say anything other than thank you and thank god that MC took over the shambles that was leeds and built the platform to make us great again, my only regret is he won't be part of leeds when we do finally go up. MOT and god bless MC

It is a myth that we are out of debt GFH are still a major creditor with a long term loan on the books

well notts ain't your glass half empty at the moment. this might be the case I'm not an account for leeds. what i do know is we must be a better prospect as someone is buying us which wouldn't of happened had st Cellino stepped in and turned our club around. my point is faults yes. but overall MC's reign can only be seen as a massive success both on and off the pitch and the turnaround he has done in just three years has been nothing short of a miracle. outside of don and wilko no one has done more good or turned this club round more than MC. We should all thank our lucky stars this crazy itie decided to save us

This is not a Cellino is bad argument BW and yes I can be pessimistic however I also feel that it is important to form an opinion based upon the highs and low. Cellino has improved the operating balance sheet, there is no doubt. He has reduced he wage bill, increased revenue streams and used the transfer market to operate at a net profit. He has moved GFH away from ownership, which has made us more attractive to investors but he has converted that ownership to debt. He has loaded his own purchase of the club onto the club's books as debt, which has been paid back to him and then converted the debt into equity, again making the club more favourable to investors. Cellino has received loan repayments and received payment for his shareholding and will leave the club with a profit. There is nothing wrong with that as he took the risk, he should benefit from the reward. I do not buy into this opinion that competing investors groups would been better because I don't believe they either had the money or were waiting to pick the club up for a song which would have probably mean't admin and relegation to Div 1. In summary, improved the operating balance sheet but the club still has debt. There you go BW a balanced opinion

I am glass half empty but with MC it is all love, best thing to happen to leeds since wilko, saved the club i loved and improved it beyound my expectations in three years both on and on pitch. I do love to be right as I was with wood and now with MC and as much as i love to pat myself on the back and roll eyes at all past nay-sayers this is not about that it is my blanaced view he took us from poxy sqaud to good, no one will buy to wold, going into admin to normal debt. I personally have only ever said great things about mc as i could see this coming and while i get less posotive balanced views like yours and understand it I am amazed that so many idiots are still slating the man and only have bad things to say. I was shocked as I expect better from leeds fans but it seems even this great club has some berks supporting it, just glad none of them are on here and just on FB

Obviously money talks, i get that. what I don't understand with all our young stars who have left us is they haven't really gone on to do anything in terms of progressing. I'm not talking Milner or delph, players who we had to sell, but didn't show any real desire to leave (well not publicly) , I mean Byram, cook etc. no have actually hit the heights like they thought they would. maybe CT is the same. Does make me wonder if they regret the move when they see our progress and what is happening with our revolution, followed by their lack of playing time! They prob just look at the back book and chuckle! 😡

Revolution? Make your mind up mate. I'm pretty sure you claimed we were going nowhere under Monk? He is still the manager.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 May 2017 21:20:48
very true. ialways think it is two things. you want to play but you also want to test yourself and play to the best you can. all professional players i have met all have self confidence and want to drive so byram etc must think they have what it takes to be prem and want to play against the best. to be fair i think cook will make it just been unlucky. i never thought bryam was good enough but he has had decent run of late. i think taylor will make it and be on the fringes of england sqaud soon

Agree0 Disagree2

09 May 2017 21:43:15
Cork I don't think monk is the man to get us up, however that doesn't mean we aren't in a revolution. Rads is the instigator of the revolution, he has already hired the ex real bloke and the bloke from West Ham. We all know better times are ahead and something is happening at ER weather you are a fan of monk or not. Monk is not the be all and end all of Leeds at the moment!

To save Garry time before he sits down with Radz I thought I would help him with the release list.

Doukara - Keep but only as a 60th min battering ram sub.

Bridcutt - Keep but insist on more forward passing or if he wants to lay so deep try him in the back 4.

Sacko - Keep (loan) but only if GM can persuade him to keep his head up and pick a pass/cross.

Diagouraga - Keep I have a soft spot for Tomi he didn't do much wrong while he was with us.

Coyle - Keep if GM sees great potential.

Roofe - Keep Based on his 2015 goals He needs to show that in the Championship. At times he did that this year.

Green - Keep, Ayling - Keep, O'Kane - Keep, Viera - Keep, Barts - Keep, Berardi- Keep, Dallas - Keep.

Pontus - Keep only if 100% committed.

Denton - Keep if GM sees great potential.

Silveste - Keep as back up.

Farrel - Keep but send on loan to play every week. He is doing nobody any good sat on the bench.

Philips - Keep but send on loan to play every week he just needs to learn He has great potential just not ready yet.

Pedraza - Keep only on loan, not worth the money mentioned. Showed flashes of quality so if he settles in and scores/assists more then worth a loan try.

Wood - Go. reluctant to say but if 15mill offered grab it.

Antonsson - Keep? With Wood in such form he has not had a good run, to impress.

Grimes - Go, Botaka - Go, Sorry if I missed anybody out.

Cooper - Go, Murphy - Go, Erwin - Go ,Turnbull - Go, Barrow - Go, Taylor - already Gone.

few potential amendments. Douk get rid, contract is up. under no circumstances do we re new he can not score, can not set up, can not beat a man. keeping douk is a sign that we are not pushing for promotion as he is not good enough for top half champ side and under no circumstances should be on the pitch

Bridcutt - keep, great player last this, however gary wake up and play him properly tactics have made him great player too poor player

silvstri - sell, i like him but will get fee and we need a new keeper. i love green but would feel after getting in new man as green is getting very old now and keepers can suffer (lukic went from best in the world to joke towards end of career)

roofe - keep, i predict big things from him next season

beradi - keep, but only as right back if he plays on left next year i will personally kick monk in the balls

grimes - keep? was he even here?

Botaka - think he has already been sold

coopers - sadly go like douk we need better

sacko - keep, has faults but look over season highlights a lot of good come from him, he was our second best offensive player

pedraza - keep he will improve neat season and show class which i think the lad has

denton - get rid too lightweight

coyle - keep the lad is class very much in the gary kelly mould

dallas - keep but only for backs against the wall defensive job - like arsenic use sparingly

bartley - keep at all costs pontus sell for profit think he is bad egg and will cause problems and didn't help this year after signing

hernadez- hard to call can be great can go missing get one keeper two centre backs (if we keep bartley) two wingers Adie Mcgeedie and fella Morris is think from Scunthorpe good number 10 one midfielder and A LEFT FOOTED LEFT BACK.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2017 15:11:26
I did say this Cork. It was true at the time. How Monk turned him around is quite the story. I actually think Pep and Beatts did much to help him too. That said, at 15m I'd sell. I'm actually an advocate of selling for right price at this stage of our financial comeback. Similar to following the model adopted by Southampton. They sold 5 or 6 20m rated players. They are real solid financially now. We must strive for same. I'd sell Wood 15m, Pontus 13m, even Vieira if we bag 10m plus for him. We can unearth talent from elsewhere and watch what the money will do for us like buy back our ground.

At 15 mill. that gives you 3 x 5mill recruits. I think most people would be happy with the quality you can pick up for 5mill at this level.
