Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

Well guys I am back again! I am sorry I said that before but left after we lost to the Dog botheres It just took all the positivity out of me and I just wanted a break from the site because most people was probably going to be negative again. (Which everyone has a right to be it's just puts me down a bit.)

Anyway things seem a bit more positive for the Mighty Whites as we have signed Garry Monk as manager which is a fantastic signing a quality young manger and even though I would have liked to be longer contract signing than a 1 year deal it is still a great bit of business for the club.

I think the reason Cellino has only given him a 1 year deal is because he planning to sell the club if we don't go up this season but that just rumours. I personally thought Steve Evans deserved a chance but Garry Monk is definitely a step up. Garry Monk now needs to be backed by Cellino in the Transfer Market and given a good budget if we want to make a proper challenge of promotion.

I will talk about Transfers and Players contracts tomorrow or this post will be longer than the Bible. He also needs a Coaching Staff of he choosing I.e Pep Clolet as assistant.

In another news the new away kit has been leaked and it is a nice kit and I like it but I hope they keep The Yellow away kit as well because that was a class kit. I was personally hoping That we would have both the same Home and Away kit as last season.

IMO, those kits we had last season were some of our best ever and maybe add a third kit, a Leeds United Shell Suit kit made by Mighty Mad Mick himself. we be the envy of every team in the world wearing that. In all honesty guys I am glad to be back and this time I am staying around. So it will be great to read all the Banter. We all love Leeds, MOT!

You might George but to a lot he was a egotistical bulls***er. You may think he's alright and that's fair enough but I don't. Could go on but it's boring.

I'm off down the battle cruiser on MILF patrol. Have a good weekend everyone.

You guys remember Brian Monteregro right? He was on loan at Leeds last year

Well guess what, he's only gone and scores 17 goals in 22 appearances in his home country and finished as their leagues top scorer

We missed one there.

18 goals in 22 maybe he could not get a game because morrison was doing so well. Gutted we lost him and fabro.

Just goes to show. Some managers can't get the best out of obvious talent and have dud favourites which they use which ultimately means they win less games and get sacked. Experimenting with a losing side ain't rocket science.

I would like to see Peacock-Farrell put straight into the team and get rid of Marco. Agree he is a great stopper but no command of his box.

Really looking forward to next season

I'd like to agree fredh but he needs to develop more first, let him learn from turnbull and who knows in a season or two.

Not seen the young lad live! But from his photo's of him signing today, it seems he needs to bulk up a tad!

I think turnball should play a few games and play BPF in the cup games and Friendlys near the beginning of the season. It play BPF in goal at home games and Turnball at away games.

Not being negative before anybody shoot me down and I'm well chuffed The Proud Peacock has signed a new deal, but 2 years? As a future star, wouldn't it be wiser to give him a three or four year deal? We offer longer contracts to Italian journey men so why not up and coming talent! Makes no sense to me.

My guess Mick would be that a young up coming player would ask for a shorter contract so he can push for a bump in wage if he starts getting first team football (he could even have clauses adding an extra year on and more wage if he starts enough games) . It also means that if we don't follow up on the 'assurances' we have given him (guessing playing time, decent coaching setup, etc. ) he can leave easier and sooner.
An older player would ask for something longer because they want a little more stability, might even have a young family they want to settle down.

Couldn't agree more Michael. If he is the real deal then in a year when he has just 12mths left on his contract we are back square one but with more big boys sniffing around. If he is not very good then why even bother. What we have done is just fudged it. doh!

Your right gummie and also a young player can suddenly go flat, more players are released from the age of 17 to 21. I don't think this will happen as he's shown maturity and quality already.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2016 17:59:42
I think it's not a bad deal, and at least this way it gives the club 2 years to convince him to stay long term, and also the player himself time to prove his talent.

If, and it's a big if: we keep Taylor, Cook, Mowatt, we have the making of a very exciting team. We've now sorted Peacock, and also have Coyle and that Ronaldo Vareire chap, plus the youngsters who signed up today!

Just shows that our academy is flourishing once more, and we could have our class of 2016/ 2017, ready to take the club forward.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jun 2016 18:43:17
Leodis you said in your post "if he's the real deal" and that's why it's a 2 year contract because its "if" and Martyn is right loads show potential and never make it.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2016 20:58:12
I don't agree. Premier teams snap up young talent and reward them instantly with 3-4 year contracts. You can't say Cook won't make it or even become a full international so God knows why he was only offered a 2 year deal.

Still baffles me why the likes of Bianchi and Bellusci were offered longer deals.

Mick, maybe because they're Italian?
No forget I said that. That would be just silly.
In fact I'm not even going to send this post.

10 Jun 2016 00:10:00
Prem teams can MM but only because they will offer a youngster £15k a week, that's nothing to a lot of top teams, £15k a week to a champ team is a first team starter not a youngster with potential.

10 Jun 2016 09:23:25
Fair point Gummie but if we took Cook as the example as opposed to Peacock boy, then I still think we've missed a trick. He was a first team regular before he signed his new deal and therefore should be on better than £4k a week and it's quite clear he will one day be a full international.

Danum, how dare you suggest that the Italian players are offered favourable contracts and I hope me post never suggested this. In fact I'm going to delete that bit from my post.

Don't think anyone will want Mowatt after last season.
Having said that I think he's the most gifted player we have.
Just put in all Mowatts goals on youtube. I don't think we have anyone as good if played in his correct position. I've got a feeling Monk might just get the best out of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2016 16:53:24
I would like to keep all 3. We know about Cook and Taylor but I agree Monky should be telling young Mowatt, if he sees the whites of their eyes, for Gods sake, shoot!

rumour has it leeds will let taylor go rather than let him ran down contract another byram also says he's on 2k a week so any offer from anybody would be good for taylor . leeds won't pay wages . hence we have trouble getting players .

We'll get compensation for him if it does run down. Personally I hope we can keep him till Christmas and if we're up there hopefully a better deal will persuade him to stay. How can Monk try and convince him to stay by saying he's in his plans when Monk is on a rolling one year deal? I remember Warnock trying to persuade Snoddy to stay when he first came in. He even promised to find him a Prem league club if he didn't go up with us. Snoddy's response was how can you gurantee me that when you might not be here 😁.

Second Man Utd player linked, Nick Powell on a free. Contract is up at the end of the month. Decent, young, attacking mid. Could add some goals to the team.
Villa, Forest, Norwich and Wigan all interested too.

I have a friend who is a Wigan ST holder who tells me when Powell was with them he was one of their best players so worth a shot?
