please Bernstein give Grayson the england job :P

Believable6 Unbelievable3

I'm English but have so much distaste for the English FA, how can Gartside, Gill, and Sheepshanks sit on the FA board when they have roles at Man U, Ipswich, Bolton it's a joke. The Board have final choice on tactics and team selection, that explains why we have the same players picked who have never delivered at tournaments.

It's no wonder the FA make questionable decisions to say the least. Appealing Rooney Red Card, the way they have handled JT innocent before proven guilty thats our law.

The English media, the FA have all basically said he's guilty, Joey Barton brings the case into dispute because he's in contempt of court. Rio Ferdinand again in contempt of court.

Can you tell me why Redknapp would do a better job than 67% win rate, no chance 1 trophy in 28 years, Relegated, left West Ham, Portsmouth, and Southampton all left in debt. He's bankrolled by at Spurs and won FA. I won't start on the trial other than what a joke £189k gift yeh rite!

The media misquote Capello IMO deliberately then what do you know the FA tell him to jump before he is pushed.

As for Grayson lg1 is his level however he could maybe a good international football manager, managing San Marino!

Agree5 Disagree5

Im OP and i agree with everything apart from the last line, how can you possibly say that? hes a good manager in the championship, ok Leeds didnt work out how we all wanted it to for him, but to say lg1 is his level is ridiculous, so many managers rate him, hes young, he makes mistakes, like everybody in life

Agree4 Disagree4

Grayson is a good manager and with international football theres no budgets or ken bates stopping him. He can get class players and show off his skills.
What have we got to lose? Atleast he's English and young and can't be worse than the last set of managers, they've been awful.

Agree2 Disagree7

Grayson was fantastic.I am really upset and gutted he was sacked and not backed. Rome wasn't built in a day, bates is ceaser tho and he expects grayson to find a team of winners from freebies and low wage loanees.Simon you will be sorely missed on that touchline, we were there with you with every kick, you were one of us.a month after your best friend Gary speed dies u get the sack. Bates out for the good of the club. You have took us as far as you can bates now sell up.

Agree6 Disagree2

'Rome wasn't built in a day' - well, that's true enough. But at least they started with the defensive walls....

Agree6 Disagree3

I think they're right to strip him of his captaincy. Footballers are constantly in the public eye. This is the second time he's been pulled up for something whilst being England captian, and to my mind, he should never have been reinstated after his very public indisgressions.

If Bowyer and Woodgate weren't even available for selection, and as far as I'm aware, the FA rules haven't changed, its a small price to pay to strip him of his captaincy. He can still be selected, he can still play, he can still influence the team. Capello wanted out, that's why he publicly did this. He could've had Terry captain the team without officially calling it that if he'd wanted to.

The FA is a joke, I do agree with that, but it would be more of a joke to let him keep the captaincy as it would go against their actions in the past.

Surely leeds united shouldnt be instantly dismissing job applications. Sven goran eriksson has won things all over europe. Admittedly with huge transfer budgets And in corruption filled italian football. But to instantly dismiss people especially in the public manner it was done doesn't look good in world football terms does it?

With bates in charge are we only goin to attract a certain type of manager? Neil never done anythng in the premiership warnock?

Believable7 Unbelievable3

IIRC he called a section of the club's fans "morons". Even worse than deriding Chequebook Sven.

Agree1 Disagree0

I could have won the title in Italy with what he had to spend. Look at his record in England- Spent a fortune at 3 clubs and won nothing and never looked like doing anything. Managed the England team and got us-erm-nothing. I don't agree with how Bates made this public but am glad he won't be coming.

Agree5 Disagree0

Bates called a section of Leeds fans morons because thats what they are,too busy chanting Bates out than cheering the boys on,all this Bates hates Leeds and wants to destroy us is pathetic, and all this Bates out during matches does nothing for the team,Elland road is renowned for being a hostile place for visiting teams and we need to get that back,Bates will leave when hes ready, whoever owns the club, whoever manages the club, and whoever plays should have our support,MOT.

Agree2 Disagree3

Mate, we aren't in the premiership yet so whether Warnock has done anything at that level or not is irrelevant until we get there! I think he would be an ideal candidate for the final push this season and then reconsider our position in the summer... {Ed020's Note - finally!!! someone says it!!}

Agree4 Disagree0

He was right to dismiss Sven's application. He's a far too public person. He went to Notts County in a flurry and totally underacheived with the money he had, then he went to Liecester and was a joke. He may have a proven pedigree, but there's a media circus associated with a manager like that.

They do right to whittle it down anyway, surely that's what you do with any recruitment process.

Neil Redfearn seems like the perfect choice for the next 3 pivotal games. With a managerial win percentage of 18.6% - 11 games out of 59 – what could go wrong? No new inspiration coming in. Nobody to shake things up and give the players confidence. Redfearn was already there working with the kids. I can’t believe Bates didn’t sack Grayson with a plan. Why give Redfearn 3 games? That’s 9 potential points, could be the difference between playoffs and mid table. I despair with our club. Fingers crossed I win the Euro Millions then we can have done with the current regime…

Believable6 Unbelievable1

You can't judge a manager too much on stats. No one knows what Warnock's etc record was at the same stage of management, and by the same token you could use Redfearns win percentage at leeds (100%) to argue for his appointment, stats can be manipulated to prove any point basically. In terms of someone coming in to give the players confidence, have you read any of the statements the players are making about Redfearn?
Good luck with the euros, but if you do win I hope it's rolled over a few times. The 45 Mil that the british couple have won this week would last about 4 years on Leeds current wage budget, and thats not including the other costs of the club, and any signings you would want to make with your money. Plus by what i can gather on this page, most people think the players should be offered more money on their contracts anyway, so thats down to about two years straight away! So anyway good luck.

Who will be the next Leeds manager? All
sorts of speculation going on.The manager
that be chosen must be able to bring the
football club into the Premier League this
season.Good in the transfer market and
able to mould a team of players into a
team of compact players that play consist
ent football week in and week out. Will it be
Redfern,Warnock,Davies,Clarke,Robinson or
Antic.Enter Alan Curbishley.Out of work for
sometime but this man has the experience
and know how to bring the best out of any
player.Has premiership experience too.
Warnock is only good at chamionship level
but not the premiership.See what happens
to QPR. Bring on Curbishley to lead Leeds
to the promised land.MOT.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

The promosed land is Champions league winners. Curbishley is not that man. Jose on the other hand is. We should wait until he leaves Real Madrid at the end of thw season and if Redders does okay then he should be his assistant. Failing that Antic should be given the chance. He was harshly treated when he was at Real and Barca and could have done a lot more if he had been given a bit more time.

Agree3 Disagree0

You are actually deluded, Mourinho is not coming to Leeds. EVER.

Agree5 Disagree3

Hi, thankyou, had a hectic stressful day and I have just read the post saying that someone actuallly thinks Mr Mourinho is a possibility for manager of Leeds.
That cheered me up, so funny.
Next up someone will put forward Mr Capello!?! That would be a real side splitter.
As an asides, and to take minds off the next manager thing for a moment, who was the biggest waste of money, Barnes, Brolin, Deane, or Sharpe?
Ed you go first.

dont think warnock shud get job as he may be a specialist at gettin teams up the end up coming straight down he has openly stated his hate for the club previously and anyway redfearn got our first clean sheet since december and has the players support and shud get the job till the summer i kno no one wil agree but honestly hes done well at leeds and deserves his shot everybody has to start somewhere right?

Believable5 Unbelievable7

So you sack him like QPR some people would say!

i dont agree with planned march this w/e.if theyre only expecting 100 or so whats the point.also its extremely conceited to assume they speak for everyone.they dont speak for me.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

I won't be there but they do speak for me - and that's the whole point of marches. We're entitled to express our view. Would you prefer to live in a free society or a police state?

Why not organise a pro-Bates march if you feel so strongly. Think you'd struggle to get 10 though.

Agree6 Disagree4

Or me, they should do something useful like get behind the team, hope the get frost bite!

Agree5 Disagree4

Shouldnt be a march, supporters should get behind the team like never before and at before the game and at half time everone should boycott the food and drink stalls bellow the stands, hit Bates were it hurts but dont hurt the team

Agree3 Disagree2

A 100 plus person march will do absolutely NAFF ALL!!

Agree4 Disagree3

Another protest. What is this going to achieve other than give prospective managers/players a good reason not to copme to Leeds. If you dislike Bates that much then stay away-simple. People are behaving just like the Man U fans who hate their chairman-why not join forces and protest together, preferably at Old Trafford.

Agree4 Disagree4

Its not a protest against bates the bloke whos organised it was on late kick off monday talking bout it

Agree4 Disagree0

Its a protest against the endless lies we have been told over the last 7 years!

Agree4 Disagree2

The LUST make me laugh it's not against bates it's against lies, ha do me a favour.

They should concentrate on finding that money to put it where the mouths are! We all know how that will go.

The last 2 things I have read what Gary Cooper has said they both have been lies now, he’s worst than bates!

Agree3 Disagree3

Lets put all our efforts into shouting for the team rather than wasting our time on pappa smuft. Lets sing for Redders and get behind the lads

Agree1 Disagree0

warnock not gonna be asked, bates will have redfern in til the end of the season, cheap option you wait and see, bates laughing at all us morons,

Believable3 Unbelievable7

If Redfern stays as manager until the end of the season and gets us promoted then we will all be laughing and who will be the person then?
