If only we had Bridcutt, O'Kane and Hernandez available for Newcastle and Brighton, we could see where we are. We had 2/3 v Norwich and won. Given how poor we were today, Brighton couldn't break us down or score without penalties, so I guess we shouldn't be too disheartened.

Agree. Maybe first game which properly shows how light the squad is. We will be in trouble if we get any injuries or suspensions unless we add some quality in January.

Agree we need a couple of decent signings in jan and offload a couple who don't figure in monks plans. In games like this you have to take the chances that you get. We had a couple but did not convert. Saying that they could not score against us in open play. Couple of wins now and forget that one.

I thought they looked to have plenty in reserve Danum. Then again, we can play a lot better. Simple fact is we can match anyone if we play well with a full strength team. But for first time in ages I thought our defence looked poor.

Did well to keep the score down but gave ball away too much. If the second was a pen then there would be one from almost every corner or free kick into box. Realistically they should have romped home. Few will get points at Brighton.

well. the marker has been put down, we are not quite there with top two, but then no one is that is why they are top two. Last year was a joke this year was respectable. feel for phillips was a red but understable and insitinct so he doesn't deserve to be barrated and no chance with ten men, no one has stopped them with 11. roofe is bit anaonums in the middle, which I though agaisnt villa, I prefer him on wing when hernadez comes back, also need bridcut to play alongside the young guns in the middle. with these two might of been a different game. Still hate green silvestri better shot stopper and seen enough of green to know his is not better with command of area if anything green is even worse. my question is this, we will be there or there abouts and have some moeny coming in, do we sell taylor who is great player maybe best lb in league or keep him try and go up and maybe sign new contract as prem player. also if we sell what price is the minimum he should go for. for me keep him unless at least 5 mill is offered.

Well if Brighton are the best in this division, the only thing we have to fear is ourselves. We were lazy defending and sloppy and should have got a point.

Pretty certain we'd have got something with 11 on pitch but Phillips cost us the game he gave the ball away in the first place but he's a young player and a young team bar the keeper we will improve.

You're right Speedy but this is what I mean. We could have done so much more. I wasn't particularly impressed with Brighton and I don't think we pushed them enough. It's so frustrating because we are capable.

We are in need of a Charlie Adam type of midfielder who can dominate play and not give the ball away. Also, I am thankful for the goals he has scored but Stevie Wonder or my Granny could mark Chris Wood! All said I still believe we will find a way to get a point. Kemar Roofe you Beauty! MOT.

Reality check. Big gap between the division's top two and us. Literarily men against boys in the middle. Lucky if the goal difference is less than three. Poor decision making for the hand ball.

Yes uphill struggle now, though we have actually played better since the sending off. But Brighton are good. Be no disgrace if we can keep it to 2.

Be fair though Hess, it might be men against boys in the middle but we have had 3 of our best senior players missing from the centre for this and the Newcastle game. Not saying we would be guaranteed a win against one of the strongest teams with a fully fit squad but it would be a hell of a closer match up.

Disagree, we were missing our first choice midfield and had two youngsters in against experienced pros. Add Bridcutt, O'Kane and Hernandez to the team and we'll beat them at ER.

If the sale of 50% goes through, then obviously the new guy will be running the club in February, so no problem there then. If not Cellino will no doubt appoint someone to run the club for him. Let's hope it's that naughty daughter of his Eleonora and Mick can have a new obsession and possible restraining order. Would not shock me, for a start the story being put in the papers two days before official announcement may be highlighted by his legal team, for a start that won't look good .
