Ed what's your view on steve evans? I for one think he just might be the link to bond the team speaks plainly and passionate about football played the simple way?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - He certainly says the right things in regards to what the fans want to hear. If he keeps getting results then who knows, he could be the link}

09 Nov 2015 14:50:18
I like the fact that he is playing 442 for a start two strikers should cause more of a threat and hopefully help keep the opposition begs back .
Notice Mowatt has improved under SE in fact I would sat apart from Blackburn the whole squad seems to be playing better .
Thing I do like is Bamba not playing well, on bench captain or not .
Earn your place and for that I believe us fans have warmed very quickly to the man and he is beginning to win us over .
I also notice the type of player we are being linked with loan wise!

So right we have missed a batty type player, also missed a Martyn type keeper, a fairclough, wood gate, radebe type defender, a Gary Mac, a viduca, chapman, type striker but apart from that I'm really happy with our squad 😀😀.

Oh dear, right, let's address a couple of issues. No player, no team can play at the top of their abilities for 90 minutes every game. We have been crying out for something to happen, to galvanise us, energise us, win games, well, its happening. Get behind big Steve, he obviously has something about him, he talks the talk and is starting to walk the walk, I love him and his attitude. Why for some is nothing ever good enough? Can anyone honestly say that in the last few years we have had a manager who passionately believes in what he is doing and in our club? I don't care what people say about him, I have seen the effect he has had and we are only 5 games in people! Believe.

We had Steve at Boston united for a number of years he will work harder than anyone to make leeds click and you find no one more passionate but a heart attack waiting to happen.

Speedy you know me so well. although I do think we should sack him at this rate I will have nothing to moan about outside of the wife.

Yeah. Sack him. He has only won 2 games all season.

I am still reading that the Liam Bridcutt deal is still bubbling away. I wonder why we chase a midfielder when with squad plus reserves we have at least 10 players who can fill that role. Bridcutt must bring something that none of the others possess? Surely there are other areas of the park where a solution needs to be found?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

08 Nov 2015 15:39:17
Despite our numerous options we are still weak in the centre of midfield. We were out fought yesterday against a mediocre side and have been most games this season. To get the true potential of Cook you need to partner him with a player who will do the dirty work. Although I think that Murphy has played ok in the last two days I still see him as the weak link.

Agree4 Disagree1

08 Nov 2015 15:47:17
No-one else can fulfill that role. Direct replacement for Adeyemi. He is an excellent defensive midfielder. It's a smart move having such cover.

Agree3 Disagree2

08 Nov 2015 20:22:05
Agree Notts, we lose the midfield battle to often. It's where Blackburn picked us off. Murphy hasn't kicked on since joining us. We need about 4 players in and one has to be a midfield player. Another keeper and cb and a striker. Even if it's just cover.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Nov 2015 20:40:01
If you are right and we do not have enough quality midfielders (soon to be 11+) then we seriously need to shift some deadweight in Jan. Although my point was that surely out of the vast number of midfielders there is one who can go get the ball and just give it to Cook (a la Hunter-Giles? Phillips - Cook?

Out of respect to our new saviour I'm trying to think of a fat leeds team but all I can come up with is;
GK Paddy
ST Brolin
Manager Steve Evans
As you can see I'm struggling.
Can anyone else help?

Have more respect, Steve Evens is doing a fine job, better than recent managers. Judge him by his ability to manage a football team.

Personal abuse for someone doing a good job is just typical from a small section of Leeds fans.

Similar with MC he puts millions into Leeds and gets abuse - who do Leeds fans think will invest with the small minority of abusive but vocal idiots.

I am a life long Leeds fan - back Steve Evans and back MC - at least they want to do a good job.

Leeds abusers - do one, get lost!

Paolo Leeds, you're either on a wind up or are a very highly strung individual. Lucas is obviously having a laugh and a bit of banter, something that is lost on you. We are all enjoying the roller coaster journey that is, two wins on the spin, so let us enjoy it eh? Jeez, I'd hate to be at your house on Christmas day!

Waltzing Viduka IMHO wasn't fat, just stocky and he's one of my hero's so would hate to put him.
What a front line, Brolin and Ricketts. Enough to scare any restaurateur!
Paolo, I'm in total awe of SE and what's he's doing under the circumstances. MM's right, just a bit of banter, after all this is the banter page.
Thought someone could have remembered some pre 80's, somebody who only played a few games.

I don't know if I was the only one who noticed that just before Wootons second tackle (which he should've been sent off for) , Cook was blatantly pushed off the ball when going for a header!
Surely if that foul had been given then Wooton wouldn't have had to make that tackle!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

08 Nov 2015 12:22:05
I think this is what probably saved Wooton. Still a poor tackle from a poor player.

es what about sam I mean not in squad . left with wotton and what a dockey . he was at Rotherham with evans so mates think he was on loan sam playing why wotton RUBBISH he can't play again . get things with sam sorted for gods sake .

Went with same team that beat Cardiff, no argument there. Saying that Byram should be in there before Wotton but he left Mowatt out for a bit and look at him now. Getting results so his call. Good to see we can still find some negatives after back to back wins. Wotton is a liability though but every manager has seen something in the lad to keep picking him. Maybe a bit like Lees who came good in the end but had to leave us to get there.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Nov 2015 12:49:54
so we won 3-0 so what your saying is we were good . what game did you watch . yes great win yes lucky and I never slag them off just wotton so your saying he was our best option no way . next game no wotton . Taylor back
if we went down to ten men like we should of because he should of got sent off . not only that he took cooper out magic.

Omg

What's happening lads

Awake to 3-0 away victory and having now watched the game, a team that had pace and passion.

Another screamer from Mowatt and both strikers on the pitch and scoring

Mind ya, Wotton lucky to stay on but mighty whites due some luck.

Even our keeper was catching things not flapping although he is a good shot stopper.

And the passion shown from the pie eater to the fans and his statement afterwards re Skye was pure class.

Its so bloody good to have a good Sunday morning for a change

Up the whites and down the beers

Absolutely Syd. Who would have thought a week ago, back to back victories in tough games, two clean sheets and two wonder goals. Though for some it still is not enough lol. Loving Steve Evans passion commitment attitude and belief. My only concerns are that Cellino sticks his oar in or Stevie has a heart attack!

As I have posted many times 'when Belusci plays we don't concede'. That has been the cases since last season. The exception was Middlesborough when he wasn't himself for whatever reason. When Bamba and Cooper are playing we nearly always concede two or more - even when they appear to be playing well. They are vulnerable to pacey and clever play on the ground. Belusci plugs the gaps that they can't. We need that type of player. Playing two hulks at the back is not good enough. We need mobility and skill. Belusci has his failings but we need him at the moment because he has the skill even if he is unpredictable and takes risks at times. The goals conceded column doesn't lie. Still don't rate Wooton!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

08 Nov 2015 00:34:31
I agree. Defenders were awful last night. Bamba in particular.

No-one rates Woot. Not even Woot.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Nov 2015 09:22:27
Good post Hesslian
I would say we have two decent defenders Berardi and Taylor. Bellusci is a ball watcher, yesterday inside our box he was tight to Vaughn with the ball out wide. Vaughn just took a step forward received the ball turned and got a shot away, Bellusci just didn't react to Vaughns movement.
With Bamba, Cooper, Bellusci we are going to have to accept that some weeks it is going to get a bit messy but equally some weeks we will get lucky.
Wootton is a joke and the sooner Taylor gets back and Berardi can return to right back the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Nov 2015 09:49:14
Agree Taylor needs to get back, that's why we need cover for his position. Wootton not a right back and Berardi not a left back. Do not rate any of our center backs the way they are playing. Cooper young and improving but learning nothing from Bamba, who is average imo. Berluscci is best of the three gets about and breaks play up but poor at close marking, gets turned easy. Hopefully the pieman will sort it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - do you like any of your players BIGE?..

08 Nov 2015 10:16:53
ed025 love em all. Fact is lack of competition has not helped performances. Cooper will be a top center half in a year or so but needs some guidance, not sure he is getting it from Bamba, who is a good enough cb for this division and at the moment is playing below his best. Wooton is a cb and has been played out of position since he joined us, but there must be something there for every coach to pick him. I love Berlusci for his passion and commitment. Think Evans is the right sort to get them playing. We have a squad who should be in top ten easy and he will get the best out of them. Berardi is our most consistent player even playing out of position.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the team has under performed BIGE, hence getting rid of the manager, but lets give the guys a chance to prove they can compete at this level, i believe the squad is good enough to push towards the play off level and with a couple of additions in january leeds can push towards that, but lets let things settle a bit before we start deciding who is and whos not good enough mate..

08 Nov 2015 11:11:57
Totally agree ed025 are good enough but need to give 100% every game to get to top of this division. As I said think Evans will sort it out but no getting away from the fact defence is dodgy and needs reinforcing maybe Evans will get them focused but a little competition for places usually brings the best out of players.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree BIGE, and i know a lot of supporters were iffy about the appointment of evans but he is a good motivator, and deserves support even when things might not be great mate..
