RIP Jimmy Adamson. A good man.

In a strange quirk of fate the next game is against Burnley where he was a player so I hope that both clubs & fans join together on 19th to show respect for his life.

One game this season I really wanted to see us win and we did, we beat leicester who had a silly spending spree I the summer and spent for the sake of it with no real thought process at all, everyone had digs at Grayson and bates at the time, at least we didn't waist money and are in a pretty good position In the league, and if lonners hadn't got injured just think where we might be now with out basic errors in defence and between the sticks c'mon Leeds

Believable10 Unbelievable10

Yes and another spending spree in january 'doesn't it make you sick loads of money lol

3rd rate fans? Sure ferguson himself said that Elland Road is one of the most intimadating atmospheres in Europe so dont think 3rd rate fans would produce that!

I think Aidy White is turning into a right little gem at left back considering his age -

However i think his best attributes would be down the left with Lloyd Sam and not Danny Pugh - think Danny and Clayton in the centre would shore up the midfield dropping Howson to the bench

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Yes with Danny Pugh scoring and getting assits on the left, we should really move him in a bit.

Last seasons average attendance 27229 ,this season at present 22620,where are the missing fans.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Watching huddersfield mate getting to see decent football for a change

Agree2 Disagree10

I'd say there are a few reasons for drop in attendance numbers :-
1) Current economic climate, especially away fans travelling. I know I can only get to the more local away games now due to costs.
2) Leeds is on TV more this year or at least it seems that way. This is a dual edged sword in that whilst we get tv revenue & a raised profile it means that some will stay home to watch or even record it (ftr I go AND record it lol). This can also mean that some stay away from next games if they see empty seats &/or hear negative chants.

Solution? - Lower prices, give more incentives to get families (building supporters for the future) & if/when you do come SUPPORT the team (team is EVERYONE involved in the club)

Agree6 Disagree0

Yorkshire is the worst place in England for job losses and cuts, people simply can't afford Bates' ticket prices.

Agree7 Disagree0

If we look like reaching the top two all the fans will come back. It's as simple as that.
I have no doubt that a shortage of money is the reason for the non-attendance of some fans - but not all by any means. At times, cost is used as an excuse. What did it cost to go to Barcelona, Real Madrid, Lazio etc? Did anyone moan about cost then?

Agree5 Disagree6

Yeah they played some right decent football against walsall didnt they, ohhh were unbeaten in 42 games, but lets be honest 30 of them are draws against s**t teams and you get smashed in the play-offs every year :) whats that faint scream coming all the way down from league one? oh yeah its deluded town fans

Agree3 Disagree4

Was a lot cheaper all those years ago

Agree2 Disagree0

Unfortunately there are a lot of glory supporters in our mix who only come when the team look like theyre going to do something. then there are people who cant afford it.

Agree2 Disagree2

I'm one that isn't there and won't be until Bates has gone and some one puts the club were it belongs ,Norwich did it Southampton giving it a good go,and both with money problems not long ago ,why not us

Agree5 Disagree3

I'm same as the man above ... I had missed about 10 games in 10 years but I haven't been since the last transfer window! I am voting with my feet.. Because I can and it's my right to.. Love Leeds dislike KB

Agree5 Disagree2

Pass holder for 28 years, Really miss going, but i will not give my cash to someone who wont give me any thing back in return and when you complain calls you a moron!crying out for one or two quality players and spends 200,000,were has the transfer money gone from Gradel ,shmeicel,Delph etc?

Agree3 Disagree0

I would imagine that cost has more to do with it that anything else, and that reason can be split between higher ticket prices AND lack of available cash, other things have to take priority when times get hard?

Agree0 Disagree1

Quite simply cash for a lot of people I guess. The economic climate has hit a lot of people very hard and caught up with a lot of people, I for one can't afford to go just now (and that's not a moan about ticket prices). I also work in recruitment and the comment above about jobs in Yorkshire couldn't be more truthful, there rarely seems to be anything I'm working on in the Yorkshire area, London as usual is where the money is. I remember a comment Bates made when being interviewed before a match at the beginning of the season about why we weren't getting billionaires trying to buy us and him saying the London clubs is where they all want to be, for once he was probably hitting the nail on the head sadly

It really is time for the idiots to stop knocking Simon Grayson and get behind him and his team. It shouldn't need pointing out, but:

Simon Grayson's first season - from heading for League Two under McAllister got us into the play-offs.
First full season - automatic promotion from League One.
Second full season - 7th in Championship.

I don't think that's a bad record. This season we currently lie 7th having been to West Ham, Birmingham, Ipswich and Leicester, all clubs tipped to finish in the top six at least this season, and have matched them all. Leicester were the team that many Leeds fans were holding up as a shining example of how to get promoted, due to all the money they spent in the summer. Well have a look at the league table lads.
There will always be ups and downs in this division, but I strongly believe we can make the top two if the squad plays to anything like its' full potential. The reaction to the Blackpool game was ridiculous. Besides the obvious reasons for the defeat, Blackpool are actually a very good side and we won't be the last side to discover that - even with a decent goalkeeper and 11 men on the pitch.
It won't be easy - but let's March on Together and give the club a chance!!

Believable14 Unbelievable5

A very good post! I think some of our comrades tend to get a little hysterical; a good win and we're perhaps a little over euphoric; a bad result, or isolated disaster (eg. Blackpool) and it's the sack for everyone followed by league 1. Aren't we Leeds fans supposed to be a bit more resilient than that? We ARE Lees and we WILL get there sooner or later. I've followed this club since 1970, and Simon Grayson is one of the more positive appointments of the intervening years. Back him. And back Howson while we're at it! He's class with a big future.

Agree11 Disagree5

Very very well said! I totally agree that we need to be a little more level-headed as supporters. Sometimes a good win can lead to silly expectations, while a poor defeat really tends to fetch the lunatics from the asylum! The nature of the Championship is that anyone really can beat anyone, so the odd terrible result is inevitable. The most consistent and resilient teams are the ones who will go up - fingers crossed Leeds United will be one of those!

Agree6 Disagree2

I admire the loyalty and enthusiasm of the last 2 postings. I also agree with some of what they say. BUT this is(in my opinion) one of the worst Championship leagues I have seen in some time. It has to be because a very indifferent/average Leeds side sits 7th at the moment. Blackpool while no mugs were being treated like mugs in the 4 games leading up to thumping Leeds at the previously named fortress Elland road. While its obvious that the keeper was highly responsible - who picked him and who backed him following his calamity against Coventry. I would dearly love to see SG succeed but his record since January 2010 isn't great to be polite and whilst I am greatfull for what he has achieved it means spit to me that he is from Leeds only that he is the right man to carry the club forward. That recent record I speak of includes one of the worst defencive records in the league. I find my self pointing out failings when presented with rose tinted glasses - I still feel that SG has a lot to offer but his inconsistancy is what infuriates the fans(since Jan 2010). As far as Howson is concerned how long is he going to be promising? He is 24 years old and I don't see any premiership or championship clubs qeueing up?? He is having a dreadful season and despite that he is an automatic choice....Oh how I feel for those working hard on the sidelines knowing that they will never get their chance...He must be related to SG cos I for one can't see how he gets a game?

Agree9 Disagree5

Blah blah sack grayson blah rose tinted glasses blah drop howson

Agree1 Disagree5

Everyone knows Grayson's Achilles heel is an inability to utilize the squad effectively. When we had Dukes, Fowler, Smudger and Robbie you never knew who was going to be the front 2 for a game. Becchio and Forssel need a few games in order for the same thing to happen. That will breed a lot of confidence and worry other teams. He also needs to play Sam more. Love to see another RB come in January plus Clingan so we can forget all about Brown. Use the squad Simon. That's what it is there for.

Agree4 Disagree4

What are you talking about? Keane got very little chance at Leeds. Please don't hold O'Leary up as an example of a good manager because he seriously under-achieved with the squad he ended up with.

Agree9 Disagree1

Totally agree with the post above.

Agree9 Disagree1

In response to the child who responds Blah blah - I never once said sack SG and simply cos I and many other Leeds fans may be able to see flaws in SG you revert to childish remarks! Grow up and recognise that not everyone shares your thoughts - get the blinkers off!

Agree8 Disagree1

Everyone has their flaws, no need to point them out on such a regular basis. it gets so tedious.
