Grrrr, No signings today by the looks of it. Guess I'll prepare for another day of sitting on the Leeds websites tomorrow. This transfer window is going to drive me Bonkers.

I think these loan signings will be delayed until Friday. The 93 day rule will give them more chance to play more games. JD

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good point JD. By my reckoning if anyone signs before Friday on 93 day loan they will be back at their parent clubs before the home game against Blackpool on 12th April. It would make sense to sign them on Friday so they are eligible for this game.

Mad Mick

Agree0 Disagree0

Well bang goes our theory JD! I am usually wrong according to the bread knife so it's water off a ducks back. I also predict Lionel Messi will not be signing for us.

I think we are aiming to high regard kebe, don't get me wrong it's good we are looking at these players but are palace really going to let him go, if so I can see him going to one of the top 4 championship clubs because I think he will want the best chance of a return to prem and I think we are a year to early for that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - He has only started 2 games for Palace, he is 29 and wants first team football. A loan move to Leeds where his manager knows him well suits everyone}

08 Jan 2014 20:14:18
is it this jan transfer window leeds are talking about signing players or next one?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This one I hope but why are Palace saying Kebe is not coming to us?

Anyone know if Kebe can play on the left? He would be a quality signing regardless, but we seem to be looking at a lot of right siders and not too much on the left

Hi Ed; I am a bit pi55ed off that my earlier post of WOW! What a Leeds team 2 - 0 - 5 - 4 isn't included; perhaps I'm not in favour at the moment!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - Check the other pages for it}

Hi Ed13; sincere apologies on my part, just thought that with all the rumours (on the rumours page) about signing this player and that player that a team put together of all the players rumoured would be a bit of a laugh!

Happy New Year

{Ed013's Note - No worries mate, all the best}

Kebe deal getting funky. Palace deny he is on his way to us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope this happens, some posters mention Owen Garven might be coming to Leeds, two quality players.

They say he is not going out on a loan!

Surely hull will want Stewart to go to Carlton, because that would be a permanent move, if he was to come to leeds on a loan deal even if we agree a permanent move in summer he would still be a hull player till then what happens if he was to injure himself a bit like blackstock they would have to pay his wages, so for them surely they will want him off the books now not in summer, which to me puts Charlon in the driving seat.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not if we pay a fee to loan him say the amount they value him at?

Would be great to get Kebe he looks a top player at this level. Do people think we will be playing the same 532 system on saturday? I hope not personally but with 2 new players possibly coming in will we go 442 or 433? Vinny.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

442 all day. Drop Lees ask Austin to sit deeper to protect back 4. Smith should really prosper. Simples.

Like everyone else would love to see a couple of wingers come in this month. Only problem is that we would then have to play 4-4-2 and I doubt we have a strong enough midfield for this. We don't dominate in midfield and if we are being overrun when playing 3 in there then what is it going to be like when there is only 2?
As much as we need wingers, and we do need them badly, we equally need at least 1 central midfield player, preferably 2, who is capable of dominating a game on a regular basis.
Any ideas who that could or should be?
MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Could possibly be a 4-2-3-1 with the two central midfielders sitting deeper and the wingers further forward and then McCormack just behind Smith. Highly doubt it thougn but just sharing a thought

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Chalobah on loan from Chelsea would be a good option. Some fans still living in the past seem to have a problem with a player coming from Chelsea to us. He's a young lad who would give his all to help gain promotion; I certainly don't have a problem with that

We all know that flowers is involved in the takeover but who is this peter virdee, well he is a billionaire. Worth £4billion according to google (well his buisness is) and he tweeted about wishing he was at rochdale leeds, and where i'm going with this is david haigh is 'looking forward to coffee' with him according to twitter, either friends or after investment who knows, but if your in david haighs situation you don't just go for a coffee with a man worth £4billion do you not think? but its just another theory being thrown out there.

it is exciting at last that we are talking of actually been active in a window.
ok not sure about c stewart but we have to give him a chance and also hope there's a couple of very good talents coming in.lots of rumours, lots of rubbish, but i'd like to see alf or kebe if true and even k phillips for experience.
its more key in midfield though so intersting to see who arrives. shrew leeds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'll be happier when we have a team that's a bit more active on the pitch.

Agree0 Disagree0

I will be excited if we get anybody decent, I just have a feeling were going to get strung along again as usual
Lets hope we get the 4 or 5 we need.

If sources are correct the Thierry Henry story could be true if Red Bull are the mystery other figure on the new board. If we get 2 games out of him it would be a commercial success!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am leeds fan since 1970. rock solid. Clarke 1-0 etched in me brain.

I'm also dead straight . married 26 years.

But. there was a time watching the quality of Thierry Henri, his vision of the game and the incisiveness of his goals when I'd have volunteered to have his Children if he'd come and played for Leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2014 08:34:14
if we do happen to have plenty of money after this takeover I think leeds should strike a deal to terminate contracts with players or let them move on for free to other clubs that will not ever get a game .this will push us forward and we can fully start to rebuild and push on.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes, they could go for free, but who do you think would want them?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dead wood! On the last months displays there will be no one left .

I'm not going to lie, the takeover does seem to be taking longer than anticipated, but there are positives to take from this.

1) At least we will have ACTUAL Leeds fans in charge of the club.

2) People mention how quick the Charlton takeover was, this was one bloke taking over a club, it seems we have a GROUP of investors so each one will need to be approved by the league (A group is more stable than a one man takeover, plus with at least 2 Leeds fans involved surely we are in better hands than some random person/company).

3) We have been through a lot worse in recent years, we have had MUCH worse owners than the current and possibly the new prospective ones.

4) We HAVE funds! For a long time now we have gone in to every transfer window worried about who was leaving rather than being excited by who was coming in, this time it is different!

So please, stop being so bloody impatient, these things take time, we all want it sorted ASAP but getting on prospective owners backs is hardly going to encourage them to want to invest in us whether it be now or in the future.

Bang on post! agree 100%

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct we will have fans in charge, but I a fan and don't have the funding that Leeds need and dare I say it nore do these guys, We need a suger daddy who has money, these guys are takling 3 or 4 million, that won't buy the quality we need to get out of this division. don't get me wrong happy bates has gone but GFH promised so much only to find they are a broke as the club is, Afraid to be realistic its another mid table finish

Agree0 Disagree0

You may have a point to a degree, but GFH did not promise lavish spending, nor did they promise promotion in the first season, they did promise to re-engage with the fans which is what has been done.

I think we need to be realistic here, fans can't control the club 100%, it would be a financial disaster, do we really want to spend money we don't have for say a couple of years of glory to end up back where we were or dare I say in an even worse position than before.

I wish we had a sugar daddy, but it's not realistic, that's not world we live in today.

always been a leeds fan, always been an ambitious leeds fan, how can you not be ambitious for your team . mediocrity is not what I want for leeds, passion, success, promotion silverware and a place amongst the best club teams in the world, is that too much to ask. no it's not, bring it on it's been too long, no more stuttering, no more pretenders behind the steering wheel, these have to be the ambitions, the fans do there bit week after week . Why have we been where we've been for so long. I believe Brian can get us on the way . but for him to do his bit people pulling the strings need to do there's. we will see if the ambition is as big as this mighty club. come on you whites.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Too bloody right! You lot ( fans ) pay good money and dezerve success. Owners and managers need to step up. Once the new recruits are in and deadwood gone, Promotion should be automatic next year. Or changes must be made. Stuff being like west ham and putting up with being beaten all year round and not changing anything. Success should be given to leeds and fans or die trying. Mediocre for too long now!

Agree0 Disagree0

Even with this takeover I don't think we can compete with forest, Leicester, blackburn or qpr when it comes to transfers.
i hope we can manage to get promoted but feel next season could be more realistic when norwich, west ham and palace come down .
fingers crossed we win the next 20+ games
