Can't believe how negative so called Leeds fans are. Give them chance. If they have not brought in players by the end if transfer Market then carry on. But at least have patience. Play som football manager or something.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I'm guessing you were on holiday in January when nothing was done and also for all of last summer where we ended up getting all the cast offs that nobody else wanted?

Agree1 Disagree0

Patience ahh every Leeds fans best friend

Well my bet of I'll pay every Leeds supporter a £1 that lonergan doesnt sign is looking good. Stop thinkin the obvious transfer targets will be coming because they won't. Mostly it will be not house hold names. Players that will become brilliant at Leeds like snoddy gradel n Luciano. Stop doubting Grayson he progressed these players and others. Grayson is a top top manager if u say he ain't then u don't hav a clue, excellent track record n he will take us further I totally have faith he will get the correct players now he has couple of million n get us back in the top flight, leicester might spend bid but that doesn't always work, u had a team n Sven can't build that, Grayson can, in Grayson n super Leeds we trust, MOT

Believable3 Unbelievable2

How bout Collins, McCartney, Bromby, Bruce, Paynter ect, don't try and make out that Grayson is some sage int eh transfer market

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2011 20:58:02
ed i really think SG and KB think that most of the players we have are good enough, with ben parker aidan white coming back into the fold and adam clayton and nunes having quite good loan moves last season aswell as tom lees i think that there only going to add a few signings and all the hype about ex players is just that hype, lets hope the few that do come in are top draw but some ho i doubt it, my be get a few loans aswell and we no how they usually work out MOT

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Well then they're wrong, the defence was shocking last season. Getting rid of KS doesn't reverse that.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2011 20:57:22
I bet nobody on this site could name a team anywhere near that would start the 1st game at Southampton, don't think Grayson has any idea either.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Going on what we have at the mo with a 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation I would guess roughly something like this-
GK-RACHUBKA?
LB-PARKER/WHITE?
CB-KISNORBO
CB- OBRIEN
RB- BROMBY?
CM-HOWSON
CM- NUNEZ?
CM- CLAYTON?
RM/RW- SNODGRASS
LM/LW- GRADEL
ST- BECCHIO
Think McCormack will play more this year aswell, just depends on formation, please dont chew my head off, its just a guess with wot we have at th mo

Rate McCormack, thing he will come big this season

The problem with not signing anyone quickly is twofold. 1. All the best players get signed up early (eg Jack Cork gone to Southampton today, Neil Danns signed for Leicester already) These two players would have made a great centre midfield partnership and were available. 2. Players need time to gel and get to know each other before the season starts. We had too many different combinations last season especially at the back. We haven't even got a decent keeper signed up yet

Believable3 Unbelievable2

You are correct
Patience will not go a long way towards a good start to the season, it'll take our lads much longer to settle. That could be the difference between play-offs or not, just look at last season for a start.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Leeds fans will see the real Ken Bates this season , no ambition no investment, your a waste of space Bates sell to someone with some ambition of getting us back to the prem not lining his already huge pockets.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Ken Bates has publicly stated he has never taken a penny out of Leeds....

.... if you know different, either put up or shut up??

Agree2 Disagree2

And Risdale/O'leary had no hand in our downfall or signings

Agree1 Disagree0

Put up or shut up.....Errr No
people have an opinion whether you like it or not mate Vice-versa if you don't put up shut up.
Since when has Bates been the voice of virtue? It isn't easy to lie mate. He also said leeds always get their man, we've lost 3 targets already.

Agree1 Disagree1

Looking forward to the comments come Christmas when were in the bottom 3 and panicing

if your not moaning about kit your moaning about bates if its not him its grayson if its not him its lack of activity in transfers.get a f-----g life and start supporting our great club phil fovargue peterborough whites

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Supporting the club also means having the best interest in its future ;)

Agree1 Disagree0

Leeds folk can moan all want too; if you don't like it go to London road.

Agree0 Disagree1

So you think a fan is likely to walk away that easily simply because they disagree with something and have a moan.....Do you know what being a fan is?
People can still critisise fella, or are you under the assumption fans are only fans if they stay quiet, positive and listen to every thing a club churns out like a puppet etc I think you have the makings of a Scum fan mate

Why would we want Derry, he wasn't that good when he was a couple of years younger
Kilkenny was a bit of a puddin, so why get an old puddin back
Midfield General

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Agree derry was tat before but he had a good season last season . holding midfield we could do worse.

Wasnt he allegedly involved in something to do with revealing a team sheet? If thats true, though I dont know this then he can bugger off

I read alot on here but never post anything, but i thought i would let you all know that Ken Bates has no intention of spending more than 500k on a total of 4 players. This has come from a good source within Elland road. He wants to keep the club stable and redevelop the surrounding areas around the ground this season. He will not pay over 10k to any player a week, reason why longaran deal has fallen through he wanted 12k. One strong whisper is that lad from halifax town for 75k. Personally i think Bates is a greedy git and thinks of himself before the side

BATES OUT...

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Muppet, Leeds is worth a bomb if we get into the premier league so why wouldn't he invest in the players to get there
Without Bates' dodgy dealing we wouldn't have a club now

Agree2 Disagree2

He probably wants a new boat...His toys are more important than his club

Agree2 Disagree2

You just dont see the big picture, do you? Why would Ken Bates NOT want Leeds in the premiership?? Just doesn't make sense, whatever way you look at it.....

Agree0 Disagree2

Without Bates' dodgy dealing we wouldn't have a club now
And that makes it alright? And people take this guys word as the truth hahaha
As fir us not having a club..
A. Another person/group may have bought us out
B. He threatened to END LUFC if he didnt get the club back cheap enough
Right hero he is

Agree1 Disagree1

Why wouldnt bates want a return to the prem? May be because we're all paying prem ticket prices, shirt prices, lower league wages, lower wages on staff etc etc etc
He can also make more profit once the redevelopment is complete.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

And who play in the shirts

Would rather we didnt look like a sunday league team lol

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2011 17:54:31
i do not know why everyone has a problem with this kit. no one liked the away kit a first and now we love it anyway i think that leeds need still to sell plays like bessonne and bring in players from the newly relegated clubs or top championship or bottom priemer league like bowyer upson and players like doyle

Believable1 Unbelievable1

And its not as if its anywhere near as bad as that 97/98 Packard Bell home kit with the button up collar thing. Always hated that, even more so when it got mixed up in the washing machine with a few other things and came out all f.cking pink.

Agree2 Disagree0

Thats wrong, everyone loved the away shirt, its the best selling shirt all season and it shifted more in the first few weeks of release than the home kit??

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2011 17:06:04
When you consider the kit was designed with the 91/92 "Evening Post" kit in mind and that it's the 20 year anniversary of that Championship winning season then it's not actually that bad.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2011 16:53:18

Ha ha, what's everyone moaning about the new kit for. I'm not that keen on it but I'm sure it will grow on me as the season progresses, anyway it's the players that are going to be playing in it that we need to be thinking about. I'm sure SG has some decent signings lined up but I must admit I'm getting a bit bored of waiting now

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Because their certainly isnt any tranfers news to discuss, and the shirt took bloody long enough to come out people are naturally going to feel deflated

07 Jul 2011 15:22:21
How come we get a cheap tacky kit made from the Italian 'giants' Macron whilst Swindon Town's is made by 'little known' German supplier Adidas Always wanted us in an Adidas kit, alas I doubt it will ever happen. The new shirt is awful, lets hope the away shirt is on par with last years blue one

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Go and support ******* Swindon then I can't believe how many people are moaning about the new kit - it's better than last season's home design.

Agree5 Disagree2

The blue one is one of the best away kits weve had in a long time.
As for supprting another team, Why? because people are deflated at the release. Yeah OK.......

Agree1 Disagree1

I always, always wanted Leeds to have an adidas kit. It would be ideal.
Electric blue, in the material of the white strogbow shirt with Yellow Stripes. Would look mint that.
One thing I would change whoever the producer of the kit is would be the Leeds badge, why is it stupidly tiny? It's ridiculous. Since the drop from the prem it just seems to be shrinking, shouldnt the main focus on the shirt be our badge not Macron men?

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2011 13:56:33
Lonergan..... is he any good? Is he a step up from Kasper? I admit i haven't seen enough of him to make a judgement, but i find it very, very, very hard to believe this helps the team and is a step up from Kasper. Bates just wanted the cash. {Ed026's Note - Is he any good? He was probably Prestons best Goalkeeper 2 years ago

Believable1 Unbelievable0

And look what happened to preston they went down, and he let in more goals than Kasper did

Agree2 Disagree0

Only seen lonergan once, at elland road last season and he let in 4 goals in the first half and was dreadful.

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like he's off to everton anyway,
what happened to us getting rid of kasper cos we had better players coming in. WHO ??
Some Prem No.3 who can't get a game, on loan. please show some ambition.
Smithies would be my choice.

Agree0 Disagree1

07 Jul 2011 13:44:45
Ed you said you expect 2 new signings by Friday, was one of them lonergan? {Ed026's Note - i don't know, It depends in whether Everton put a bid in or not

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I say 0 signings by friday....nobody wants the low wages apart from hasbeens..

Agree2 Disagree3

What's happened with Alan smith as Newcastle still want rid but doesn't look like we can afford his wages :(

Agree1 Disagree2

Erm He's greedy so is continuing to collect splinters at the Barcodes

and the sad face shouldnt be aimed at us not being able to afford his ridiculous wages but at the man that won't drop down his ridiculous wages for his 'boyhood team', how are we to blame? We need a stable club which means a low wage budget, we arent going to risk and break that for a has been Multi-Millionaire.

It was rumoured that 4 a change Leeds will wear a black away strip 4 the 2011/12. I saw it on a Leeds Facebook page and it was mentioned there. 1st wear will b v Newcastle when it goes on sale
Call me old fashioned but I'm a traditionalist and it's gotta b yellow
Keith LUFC

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Black is cool

Agree2 Disagree1

Black against Newcastle? Can't see that myself.
We've not always had a yellow away shirt, Leeds have had many coloirs throughout the years.
As far as rumours go, remember the black strongbow shirt- enough said

Bates made it very clear "we are looking to sign 4 players". That doesn't mean 6 players or 2 players or a billion players, it means 4 players.
Grayson has identified the positions that need strengthening and the money has been allocated to acquiring players of quality.
It is almost certain that one of the players we missed out on was Keiren Westwood, who wanted a Premiership club only or he would have stayed at Coventry. I also understand that Marlon King was another target but he went to Birmingham instead - Bates was either mistaken or disingenous when he said the missed players went to Premiership clubs.
Lonerghan remains a target and I think Leeds will offload Gradel as well.

Believable0 Unbelievable7

Very unlikely that King was a target as KB and SG have both stated that they are happy with the current strike force, both have also stated that Gradel will not be leaving unless there's a silly money offer

Agree8 Disagree0

The biggest load of utter tripe I've read on here all year For one, Bates did not mean we are looking to sign 4 players ONLY, he said we are CURRENTLY

Agree0 Disagree1

Biggest load of utter tripe I've read all year For one, Bates didn't mean we are looking to sign 4 players ONLY, he said we are CURRENTLY in discussions with 4 players. Secondly, there is no way in the world Leeds would go after Marlon King. Why would we want him? Finally, Gradel's going nowhere.

As I very much doubt you are even a Leeds fan, why don't you just take your nonsense somewhere else? Alternatively get to bed, you've got school in the morning.

Agree5 Disagree1

07 Jul 2011 10:19:50
Well the new kit is...erm...different. Not overwhelmed by it putting it bluntly. I always feel we have looked a bit informal (and maybe Non league-ish) in appearance since we went to league 1.
We always looked really professional when we were in the premier league and had kit makers like Puma and Nike.
Also see bates as given the sponsor a 1 year deal so if they don't stomp up the money next season he'll have them changed and shirt sales will pay the rest of the new sponsors deal.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

07 Jul 2011 10:09:54
Oh well at least our new home kit is in keeping with our transfer policy, cheap and nasty.

Honestly in all my years supporting the team I have never seen such a cheap looking kit.

I know its meant to be 'retro' but that just looks like a sunday league kit.

Very disappointing, lets hope we can get some decent players in it this season or I fear we will be going down, very poor pre season in terms of transfer activity so far.

We seem to be missing out on all the good freebies atm, if we dont make some moves soon we will end up with the usual crap that no one else wants.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Moan.......moan........boring.......moan..........tedious..........moan........tiresome..............blah........moan...........moan...........blah.......moan.

AAAAAAAARRRRGHHHHHH

Agree4 Disagree4

Agree completely. Entitled to an opinion and it is a cheap and nasty looking kit. Obviously the team is a lot more important though.

Agree3 Disagree3

What fuuny is those singing KB's praises all fail to realise we have potentially four target signings yet not one of you is contemplating the fact that all four may not sign due to an agreement not being struck. Nothing is concrete, we've already missed out on 3 players, who's to say that we'll definately get are remaining four targets to sign? What then, naturally we'll go after players of a lower calibre. So although it seems like moaning I'd say its more nerves, and with Leeds who can blame them. lol

LACK OF TRANSFER ACTIVITY.

Im not here to criticise any one, as I fully appreciate each and every one of us is entitled to their own opinion. Im sure Larry and Ken Bates are both striving to bring the right players in to the club but on a financial package that suits the clubs current wage structure.

Im sure this financial restraint will benefit the club long term particularly with the new rules to be implemented for the 2012/2013 season.

I must admit that in the short term it exasperates me that we are spending circa £7m on additional hospitality facilities. Would this money not have been better spent on this years playing staff to aid a big promotion push? The new facilities could then be added at the end of this coming season.

Just another thought, surely the West Stand is in dire need of rebuilding. Could these new facilities not be included in this?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I agree, i'm trying to be patient but i can't help feel we ar going to lose out, however in the long run i agree we are setting up the payment structure for the new rulings coming in.

On the subject of the £7m stand improvemnets, hmmm well all i'll say is what about those shareholders that lost out years ago, perhaps repaying them for their initial investment would have been a better idea, but then again that would never happen really.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont get why bates would spend 7million on a stand he doesnt own ;)

Season Ticket holder for many years seen it all before. At this point in time we are a Championship team with not a lot of money to spend on wages, (See KB). Any decent players wont therefore come to Leeds if any other Premiership/ Championship clubs are seriously interested. We will continue to miss targets until our revised targets are players that no other ambitious club wants. Then KB/SG will give us the spin that these players were the ones we were after all the time. This is why we have recruited such poor quality in the recent past (There are a few/one exceptions) and why we missed out last season. That was probably our best shot at promotion for a number of years to come. Too much money in the championship for us to compete on an even playing field. Let's see where Lonergan goes Hope I am wrong. MOT

We didn't want a crock anyway did we?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I agree completely, it can only be for nostalgic reasons that any of our fans want to see him return. he has only managed 4 league games in the last 2 years because of his lack of fitness.
