Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

07 Feb 2014 23:37:39
Well people, lots of excitement and so many rumours of players who will be signed, some who can't possibly be as the international window is closed! let's just root for the lads tommorrow, get 3 points, then see Cellino over the line on wednesday and get our ground back. Anything else is gravey after the scraps we have been fed for years!

So Cellinio wants ADP. So much for giving BMc an opportunity. Hope the team rally round BMc, get a siege mentality and show Cellinio he doesn't need another coach.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Brian will be out before you can say Just One Cornetto, Leeds will become an Italian rather than a Yorkshire club and the possibility of rebuilding Revies heritage will be gone yet again.
Be careful what you wish for

Agree0 Disagree0

Well it's a damn site better that going into administration again like we would with these clowns from GFH and the danger of disappearing into the abyss of division 4!

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone is assuming that the team will be filled with Italians because Cellino is Italian. Chelsea aren't full of Russians and MAn city are not full of Saudi Arabians. I think we should give him a chance before slagging off his decisions, especially as he hasn't made them yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people post nonsense like this? you pick up an a totally speculative piece of journalism and start writing out the Future history for Leeds United. I think that after the controversy caused by the sacking of BMc I believe cellino will not get rid of BMc until the summer.

The ups will be a nice accompaniment to the usual downs of the last few years - I for one think it will be a white knuckle ride and will be exciting times ahead

I know this might sound out of context with many, very many of you, who seem to have forgotten we actually have a game tomorrow! Not seen it mentioned this week on here! Anyone know if it's on?

When cellinio is cleared fit and proper I'm sensing he is in for the long haul, buying back elland road is a massive statement that shows a lot of commitment financialy and if he has done his homework on leeds fc which he most certainly should of done he will have some idea about how to get the best out of our club . keeping the fan base onside should be his priority as from that comes support and from support comes success . bring it on cellinio let's see what your made of. for all those worried about his history you only need to look at all the investigations into managers in the premier league not so long ago when many big names English at that got away with out being prosecuted with smart lawyers . in the past dodgy deals were part of the norm, hopefully now that's all history . I don't see him as being any worse than what we've had over here.

Its rumoured Del Piero will be our first marquee signing, the guy is 39 years old, hope it is just rumour, bad signing IMO.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He'll probably be the new manager then!

Agree0 Disagree0

Probly a bad move on the pitch but great move off the pitch think what the junior players would get out of it

Agree0 Disagree0

Player /coach roll. Two weeks ago we would have been happy for Phillips 40 yrs to join. This is Del P. The kind of thing that helps get up and coming players to sign for Leeds and not some other premiership pretenders like Wigan.

I fancy a bit of Totti

Ok so down to the FA then. Good old Shaun Harvey doing what he can to prolong the conclusion to this deal I and applying the F and P criteria. As we all know from what is in the public domain Cellinio has two convictions, one of which was quashed on appeal. the other outside the timescale for consideration in accordance with the R of O's act (beyond 10 years so no issue there clearly)proof of funds is clear for all to see, the man is both asset and cash rich enough to buy us 20 times over (estimate, likely many times more) so its down to the Bates Boy likely insistent upon irrelevant points of detail just because its Leeds. He clearly is bitter about his time with us and will do what he can to cause us problems, scuppering the deal if an opportunity presents itself.
You would think that football governance was some paragon of christian virtue the way they are carrying on, there are more crooks in ( and running)football than there is in Armley prison.

What a joke

Shaun Harvey is "working his socks off" on getting this deal over the line. we hear this every time. He should wear flip flops!

One question to you ed, why when BMD and CEO Paul Hunt were sacked last week, only BMD has reinstated. I was under the impression that the italian didn't have the authority to sack anyone, so makes me think that it was GFH who did the sacking, realised there was a massive backlash and so tried to blame Cellino. No mention of Paul Hart being re-instated, which surely would have been the case if Cellinio sacked them without authority. I hope that GFH are gone for good soon, they are not more trustworthy than Bates was.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - I believe it is because David Haigh is to become the new CEO and Paul Hunt was only acting CEO}

I would like to say a big thank you to Ed and everyone here on this site.
I know you are all worried by Massimo and what might happen.
I promise you I will do my best to keep it all on the straight and narrow.
Loved getting slagged off its part of the game.
What matters is our great club and someone who really knows the game and has access to the money needed.
Please let's have a massive turnout at the next game for the sake of the players who have struggled lately under terrible pressure.
Will be doing everything I can to get top footy days back at ER.
Think I'm done now.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - Thanks buddy, apologies I wasn't able to call}

Quite right, let's have a massive turn out next home game and show our support for Cellino and the players just hope he gets the approval he needs, and fully expect the input of players to be of much better quality as of late, be good if Mac is given till at least the end of the season, the major sticking point will probably be Cellino picking the player and not Mac, in any event, we are on the up.

As posted elsewhere, I am with you if Cellino backs us and understands what he has in us?

GFH, Great Fat Hallucination, to be not so rude. With every story coming out I become more gobsmacked. How on earth could they get so much so wrong and end up in a wose state than Greece. So as of 14:00 today Mr Cellino is a done deal, with only the all important football league fit and proper persons test to be concluded, which it will be. Could it be we will get some truth now. let's see if we get the ground back as promised, oh and keep BMcD at least until the end of this season, and from there who knows upwards and onwards or more of the roller coater that is the norm for us mere mortals aka the long suffering LUFC fans.

I hope and pray we get Stability, Honesty, Investment and Trust, but fully expect that we will only get more of the word made by using the first letters of those wishes

I see football league are messing us around again
"not received the necessary paperwork to allow take over yet " they have it in for us and always have! I can see it coming. They don't clear cellino as fit and proper. We go into administration. And they relegate us and dock 15 points. And it will be all there fault. You just couldn't make it up. But can see it coming. As for gfh. What a bunch of liars and incompetant too. I hated bates as much as the next man. But at least he kept us financialy secure
Bob.Wakefield

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He put us into administration . twice! Then sold everything he could including outr future and buggered off! Financially secure my butt!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree bob wakefield . The FA. Will try to make an example of Leeds united. They realise the world is watching and they will go out of there way to show the power of there authority. They could cost us dearly

Agree0 Disagree0

WE WONT GO INTO ADMINISTRATION!!

If somehow Cellino doesn't get declared fit and proper by the FL then GFH will just sell the club to Farnan and his Together Leeds consortium.

Bates keeping us financially secure? Bob.Wakefield - you are having a laugh mate. It's pretty much Bates fault we are in the mess we are in. After the Ridsdale mess and we went into administration we had our debts cleared and were back on an even keel until Bates managed to mortgage off the future and run us into the ground.

Look guys & gals, whoever buys us needs to have the funds to re-purchase ER as this is what is putting off prospective buyers. The cost to rent ER is extortionary and is one of the major players in bleeding our club dry. So going with Cellino at this present moment in time can't be as bad as the clowns GFH. Buying ER would be what I would do first if I had the dosh and I keep hoping I win either the lottery/euromillions. Come on chin up and let's get behind out team tomorrow. MOT

Gfh please sit down with farnan consortium, something makes me very nervous about why cellino has not provided fl with all the paperwork they need, its been over a week and enough time to provide them with the proof they need.cellino is due to meet football league next week if he thinks he can talk hos way out of this he can think again, this in not italy, we have standards.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How do you know its Cellinos fault, there are others involved in this like GFH for instance, the mans not a fool and remains the best option in our current situation

Agree0 Disagree0

You want to pray the Italian deal goes through because there's no money any were else, this deal is the only way we will see premier league football again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cellino said today today that he would own 9.5% of Leeds and his family the rest, as I understand if you own less than 10% of a club then you do not have to be declared as owning a share so I do not see how Cellino can have any baring on the FL decision on the club sale.

Sorry Ed I missed your bit on best players to wear the white shirt.
Think you all forgot John Charles wore blue and gold and if he did wear white on his return he was pretty big and overweight by then so he wasn't even as good as Chapman.
Bobby Collins was magnificent and also modest.
Billy was a tiger and Eric was awesome.
Bite your legs was my personal hero and 90 miles an hour with Giles PM and TC plus Reaney all greats.
Funny how nobody remembers the great Don Revie probably the most intelligent man to play but also blue and gold.
Somebody mentioned Albert and while exciting not great.
So many more we could talk about.

Roger Kirkpatrick

Ok love Massimo or hate Massimo.
It's going to cost him about 150 million
To take us and keep us in the big time.
We will defo be having players coming and going also staff and even management if things don't work out.
Leeds will be back and soon, so come on Leeds supporters please support the boys just like you did last week.
It's Leeds United that matters and as soon as everyone hates us again then all the better.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

£150 million, a bit steep isn't it?

25 miliion to buy club club
10 million to put into for funds to run it
5 million service debts
25 million to buy back TA and ER
15 million to get us up
30 million to keep us up

If cellino is so good at his job and scouting players and investing in players, why are cagliari struggling in 14th place?the man has messsed them up now he's leaving them in the rubbish, nobody wants to buy them, he thought he'd sold them yesterday they've pulled out last minute, what's wrong did they find some last minute problems celluno forgot to tell them about, let's see if he buys elland rd back now he is struggling to sell cagliari, let's see if he buys us at all.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He took the club with money issues from a lower division invested money and they are now an established top league side. Does that sound familiar? ANd to be stuck in 14th in the top league. I'd chew my wrist off for Leeds to be an established side in the Premier league, 14th place or not.

Stepping back and looking at the situation that Leeds as a club are in and the deal from Mr Cellino. I really hope this guy makes things happen and put the pride back into the club and back the current manager as well in the transfer market. Mr Cellino if your people are reading this now is your chance to become a hero for the club and become part of its great history.

I notice cellino says he will buy back elland road, what's wrong Mr cellino not got the funds to buy thorp arch aswell, didn't mention anything about buying thorp arch in your grand plans did you.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its not enough that he is buying the stadium?

Agree0 Disagree0

Jeez, Did you want a comprehensive list of EVERY action he will take IF he buys us out? Give the bloke a chance, he's not even through the door yet!

Agree0 Disagree0

Elland road is a start from what I have thorpe arch is a nightmare

Agree0 Disagree0

As far as I can see, the others potential owners could'nt afford a season ticket let alone the ground. Why are some Leeds fans never happy. None of us have the finances to compete all we can do is support our team, manager, club whatever the division we are in. I was born in Leeds, supported my home team for 40 years and will do so until I die. We must get behind whoever is willing to take a risk with their money to invest in our club. GFH have blown millions, the only way Leeds will make money is if we return to the premiership, so hopefully exciting times ahead. If not we must give our support to whoever wears the famous white shirt. Come On Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

There's always one!

Agree0 Disagree0

First the club
Second ER
Third TA
Then at the end of the season it's slash the cost base and then rebuild Leeds United.
Not bad for someone who only found out about us 8 weeks ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you note, he says the FIRST thing he is going to do is buy back Elland Road, that's as good a start as we have had in more than a decade, he can't list everything he is going to do in chronological order. If he does just that he will have succeeded in one day where a barrow load of muppets have failed in years

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Feb 2014 08:38:26
Seeing the latest reports on how bad our finances are and how badly GFH have handled themselves this year I'm appalled that they will still own a percentage share in the business.

Love or hate Cellino I just don't see any other option right now I just wish it was 100% of the club.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Feb 2014 07:13:35
Like him or loathe him, and who knows more than is written in the press, but Leeds needs Cellino. I don't want to see a team sheet full of unpronounceable players, I don't want controversy over sackings/new appointments in the papers each week. But, what I do want is a club with stability, both financial and corporate. I want LUFC back in the premiership where we all believe it belongs. I want the club to own it's ground and training facilities and I want to forget about the last 10 years or so and enjoy the glory that is LUFC once again. So who other than Cellino is going to provide all that I want? No-one, so let's stop all the negativity and embrace the man.
CJS

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I couldn't agree more. If you look back over the last decade or so, we've had a lot of rubbish to put up with, in no particular order:

• Peter Ridsdale
• Administration
• Points docked
• Droped down to the 1st Division
• Master Bates
• GFH

Add to that a stream of bandwagon, no-hoper managers:

• Reid
• Blackwell
• Wise
• Warnock

The list of negatives go ‘on on on’. However, now we have a very small glimmer of hope with some ruthless Italian.

Ruthless is an interesting word. I’ve worked in I.T. For many years, and Bill Gates was, without a doubt, one of the most ruthless in HIS game. Many people hated him for being so ruthless, but if you look at it objectively, was he in the ‘Champions League’ of I.T. Companies? He OWNED the league.
Bill Gates was a cut throat, evil, ruthless son-of-a-b*tch, but he was without a doubt the BEST at what he did. I despise the bloke on so many levels (I know it doesn’t sound like it, but I hate the Gates!), but his ruthless head for business put him way ahead of the competition for MANY decades.

So back to Leeds United and Don Cellino; if his ruthless nature got us even half-way to being top of the Premiership, if his cut-throat approach got us financially secure, mid-table in the Prem, are you honestly saying you would take it. Would you REALLY be happy mid-table in the Championship, bitching week-in, week-out about cr@p players, rubbish management, etc.

Have a nice day…

Just when I thought that the situation at at Leeds United couldn't get any worse the Yorkshire evening post has a new story about how bad the financial situation really is. Outstanding bills that haven't been paid for months and the fact that Cellino covered the wage bill last month, For me this take over can't be completed soon enough, I thought we had all suffered enough under Mr Ken Bates but GFH seem to want to complete what he started and destroy us completely, I don't think I could face watching the club I have loved for 40 years go through administration again, The whole situation just makes me so angry, So for me at least I hope Cellinos' take over is sorted as soon as possible otherwise it looks like financial disaster all over again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cellino, 28 managers in the last 16 yrs, to be successful you need more than money you need stability, how can we have that with this man in charge.cellino will also move to Yorkshire to be hands on, and will scour the globe personally for players, I know what I feel but you people who think he will spend money your wrong at cagliari he did the same, scoured the globe for free transfers and any players he did buy he sold his best players first.funny he said first thing he will do is go to the bank and buy elland road, should bringing players in not be priority elland road can wait, no decent manager will want to know us when he gets in, we will end up with mediocrity like festa.cellino says festa was never going to be manager well why Did he let someone who was never going to be manager change the side and formation.people if you want to welcome this man that's ok but when it all goes wrong please don't stand on the terraces moaning, you won't have a say.

My crystal ball is broken so going to have to base my opinions on now and trust for the future.

Cellino has money that he wants to put into Leeds. GFH has somehow lost control of the finances so badly that A Flowers, a life long supporter, has put in a winding up order and other day to day financial commitments are not being met.

We are entitled to an opinion both now and in the future. I'm not saying it should be acted on but we are entitled to an opinion as customers.

I hope things work out great but at this moment this appears the one and only path we can take.
