Great start to the season with a decent performance and 3 away goals. Never easy going to a newly promoted team. Outstanding games imo from Cooper, Ayling, O'Kane and Phillips. Hope we smash PNE because it's local to me and I know a lot of Nob Enders and wanna be a happy Degs next Saturday night! ITIT lol!

Has anyone officially announced that Cooper is the new team captain, or is he still vice-captain and is deputising for the captain who did not play on Sunday because of suspension or wasn't selected? We are all assuming that Coops is captain but as much as I like him, he's possibly not going to start many games ahead of Pennington and Pontus. MM

MM I believe you are correct. Cooper was merely deputizing. It can only mean one thing. Captain Pontus.

George I'd agree with that, who else didn't play who was an obvious starter? green? I think that it will have gone a long way for TC to have done it a democratic way. it will help to make all players valued and that an only lead to an harmonious dressing room, which as we all know is half the battle. Good man TC. its only been a couple of months and a one competitive game, but I like you.

i think you could be the man to take us up, if not this season in a couple or so. i'm really positive for our future tonight people! rads is the man, TC could well be the man and we have a young squad who are looking quite dangerous. one more Pontus quality cb and for me maybe a really old head/ dominator in the centre (strachan, batty, decourt type) and I think we're nearly there! MOT TO YOU ALL!

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Aug 2017 00:11:46
Why should cooper make way for penninhton if he plays like that? Pontus prob will be captain. didn't see game but from what I've read. Only neg is sacko and goalie. Hope tc is brave enought to swap him if need be.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2017 00:13:30
TC has said 4 players got votes, Bridcutt was one of them. Since Cooper hasn't been announced it suggests 2 of Bridcutt and probably Green and/or Pontus as Capt and Vice. Green as captain with Jansson his voice up/on the field makes the most sense to me (I know, people don't like Keepers as Captains, I to an extent agree). That would make Green the go between for players and management, sensible as the senior player, with the big man as his SGT barking out the orders on the pitch. Works for me.

Pontus for skipper is my vote. His passion will help others I believe. Ausman, I read your post re bein sports not having the championship rights and having no way to watch it. I watched it in Sydney mate and happy to share how to get games if your interested. MOT

08 Aug 2017 07:33:43
That would be good thanks syd. Lutv not up and running either so not able to watch any game at the moment. Re above. How can green be captain. He is not playing?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2017 08:33:41
Flick me an email at blueinoz at hotmail and I'll respond with how I watch games Ausman LUTV very poor at the moment anyway. Agree re Green but also re some of the dodgy comments re his replacement on Sunday

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2017 10:08:23
Not saying that Coops should make way for Pennington Aus. I rate Coops and think he deserves a break (new manager etc) but, I'm assuming that we have guaranteed Everton playing time for Pennington otherwise there will be financial penalty clauses in the loan. It is a regular caveat used by perm teams these days. So, imagining Pontus will start as soon as his suspension finishes, it's hard to see Coops being first choice. MM

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Aug 2017 14:05:55
Gotcha mm So we have to play some loan players even if they not in form? Not talking about pennington
The penalties for not playing clause is new to me. Seems a tad unfair.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2017 16:08:45
Coops had a good game because he had better positioning than last year however he did just hoof the ball in most of his clearances which is fair enough at certain times but it also gave them back the ball and gave them chances to push us back . The gk seemed more interested in who or what there players were doing in are box instead of watching the corner and claiming or clearing the ball .

man utd fans are not happy at Borthwick Jackson joining Leeds, the fans have been on twitter saying "dont come back" "why has he gone to them scumbags" "once you where that shirt you can't be a red" and so on! It's a pity they didn't feel like that with Cantona, Ferdinand and Smith eh, short memories I think! MOT

Good answer George, also I have been speaking to a good friend of mine who is a Boro supporter and he told me that he went to their game and he said he had never seen them play so negative, they had no shots because he said the midfield were playing so flat! That sounds like us last season! MOT

Sg90. weren't they ridiculing us when they got him! ? i'm not one to bear grudges but that man really stuffed us last 8 games. It was so distarous it could have looked intentional. i'm looking forward to leeds winning as many games as poss but i will also in kevs words
Love it. Really love it if we beat them i'd really love to see them lose
As many games as possible.

Aus, I am of the opinion he agreed to join Boro behind our back so didn't want us going up as he'd be leaving Leeds in the PL for Championship Boro. Karanka got sacked before Brighton, which was when our form also mysteriously dipped. He'll be sacked by the time we play Boro anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Aug 2017 16:16:02
I do think he had been approached before he meet with AR about coaching job. Think we imploded last year because of two factors, one; we really did not have a big enough squad attacking wise and two; our play was poor, passing the ball along the back line to gk to defender to gk. early days as yet but we did look to be a more attack minded team.

BJay arrives. Should aid our attacking game down the left-hand side and ease our defensive injury crisis. Can't wait til BJay lands a good head (er) onto Wood. It will make him score. Makes complete sense!

seems to have taken a long time coming - let's hope he makes the earth move and it is worth the wait

07 Aug 2017 14:18:11
If BJay takes down the head of Wood and dribbles freely, it'll be easy to swallow. Might stick in the throat though, if he keeps going and launches it straight at the keeper's face. Blame George. He started it.

George. You need to get out more !

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 15:12:27
I don't know what you mean City. I simply believe with BJay coming onto the pitch Wood should stand to attention as he's bound to receive quality balls in the box which not even a Seaman in his prime could save

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 15:14:14
Speedyg, it's probably getting out more which caused this or was it staying in more? Either way too late to change now.

Our new centre half looked pretty good yesterday. Funny he has the same name as our own Liam Cooper who we all agreed wasn't good enough. Anyways. seeing as nobody is going to come in for him, he hangs around in the back line and can at least make a tackle, what about trying Bridcutt at centre-half for the next game?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

07 Aug 2017 09:42:34
He played well, but one decent game does not make him barasi! let's not get to excited and see how he's done after a few games

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 10:32:11
Cooper can follow one good game with two awful games

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 10:37:06
When Cooper punted the ball forward under no pressure to nowhere in the first 10 minutes I was rolling my eyes expecting the usual but fair do's, the lad did well enough. Maybe one of those that needs a captain's armband to make 'em play the way they're supposed to.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 11:39:44
I think Cooper had good games against Oxford and Bolton. He looks up for this season, proud to wear the shirt, he leads and he gets respect from the other players. At the very least yesterday's game showed the importance of having sufficient defensive cover and even if he doesn't keep his starting place he can be useful this year. Let's give him a chance under the new regime. Likewise with Sacko, I'm sure he knows where he needs to improve and the coaching staff as well, but if he can really come good he will be a really dangerous player. I think it's going to be an exciting season, not too many boring games!

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 11:48:13
Well he's certainly shed a few pounds since last time I saw him play. Let's hope leaner means meaner

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 11:53:45
Maybe TC can unearth a good defender in him? I would have thought Monk could have being an ex CB. Needs to cut out the Hollywood balls too, as they regularly go out of play or lose us possession.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 11:57:44
I've never had a problem with Coops, and it seems that the squad has no probs with him either, it's them that voted him captain!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 12:22:34
I think I heard them say on commentary yesterday that it was a player vote to make him captain. If the team think that highly of him I would like to think there is something there. let's just hope beradi and pennington are back quickly and cammy bj fits in, as I think yesterday showed we could do with the depth.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 14:07:12
I agree. The games i saw last year he played ok. don't know why people slate him. Everybody has a bad game here and there. Brid was way worse than cooper. Glad to hear he stepped up yesterday. Hope it continues.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 15:18:32
Really pleased for Coops, seems to be a true pro. Never moaned about not being played etc. Players are all about confidence and if that's been shot to pieces, some never recover. I hope Coops gets a good run now and keeps on putting a good shift in. MM

Watched the game early morning in Sydney. We played well I thought and looked very good on the counter attack. Coops played better than I thought possible and was my pick as MOTM. Sacko was Slacko IMO, surely there is better on the bench. Onwards and upwards to the mighty LUFC. MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Aug 2017 06:02:32
When you look at what sacko did yesterday compared to what saiz did against oxford when coming on, it's a no brained who should be first on the pitch

07 Aug 2017 07:47:45
MOTM was either Phillips or O'Kane for me

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2017 08:25:03
Anita deserved a mention thought he looked calm on the ball, Cooper played well enough but has a tendency to just hoof the ball, I thought the Gk looked a bit lost in the box should have claimed the corner . Philips needs to be careful on his tackles and why put on Sacko . Less back passing All looks a handful and I thought o'Kane and Agling played well . We missed Pilot as there forwards were bullying on set plays but three points . Green back in goal and Anita as full back for Vale if Penns out
