we need at least 15-20 new players for promotion next season:

1 goalkeeper

2 right backs

2 left backs

4 centre backs

2 centre mids

4 wingers

1 or 2 strikers depending on how somma peforms in pre
season

We have to get rid of, Rachubka Taylor (Maik) bromby bruce kisnorbo connolly parker white sam o'brien vayrynen paynter pugh forssell all who this season havent had a look in or just arent good enough

maybe get rid of nunez rogers and somma if they dont impress in pre season

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Apart from white

Agree1 Disagree2

How will bates buy 15 players. I would get back on fifa if I was you.

Agree6 Disagree1

Why would you include white as being not good enough hes quality and just a bit young at this moment in time but will soon be one of our star players and have a big price on him

Agree3 Disagree1

And 4 wingers! are you serious we havnt even tried rogers yet and snodgrass is our best player so in other words your tring to say sell everyone and start again. i dont think so

Agree4 Disagree1

That's never going to happen.....your a nut job

Agree4 Disagree1

For a start we are wanting to reduce the size of the squad so why would we try bring in 15 - 20 players ,most we will sign is 10 and personally i think we will sign 5 or 6 and have a squad of 23-25 including some young players who come through like gimpel and poleon and we will be seeing the likes of Taylor and Thompson in the squad again maybe a bit more involved .

Agree2 Disagree0

This is way wide of the mark!
Goalkeeper, 2 right backs, 2 centre backs, 1 left back, 3 centre midfielders, 2 wingers, 1 striker. 12 players. We won't get that many either

Agree3 Disagree1

Warnock himself only said a handful, I reckon most of the deadwood will be shippe out or paid off, we will keep periphery figures who will make up the numbers and hopefully hang on to the 5-6 decent players we have. O'Dea I reckon is a dead cert for an offer I reckon and then it's a case of Warnock trying to attract old friends and players he used, liked and signed at QPR, Sheffield and Palace. I have a feeling it'll be along the lines of Kenny, Derry, Hill, maybe Mackie and Ambrose however the other 2-3 players would be a shot in the dark. Keep the faith!

Another boring game reaping nothing. Going backwards with Warnock.

Believable6 Unbelievable13

Give him a chance. play offs have been written on for a while now i think. let him rebuild the squad and judge him on next seasons league position

Agree6 Disagree5

Boring game?? WTF were you watching.

With 11 men and a full squad we would have beaten the best team in the league. We actually created the best chance in the whole match from open play. How many teams with ten men could have ripped through their defence and get a man spare in their penalty box.

Agree6 Disagree4

Exactly what game were u watching

Agree4 Disagree2

10 men or 11 men. We still got beat. Good sides capitalize on those chances and carp sides sit and think to themselves "oh we had this chance and that chance". End of

Agree2 Disagree3

Surprise, surprise, Warnock blaming officials.
Wake up.
You will never get anywhere in the long term with him in charge.
I am shocked that he didnt say his side played brilliantly, but there again even he couldnt say that about that team yesterday.

Jeez.

Agree2 Disagree3

Warnock was right about the officials. Now bore off and keep your nose in your own team's business.

Agree3 Disagree1

Sounds like a reading fan

I have a mate whos dad is one of the directors at ER said if Leeds re enterd the prem league this year we would have to pay a penalty of 20 Million as we have been bankrupt in the last ten years, he also then went on to say Grayson wasnt given any serious money as Bates didnt trust him to spend it correctly. He then also went onto say the stadium is been prepared for the prem league with the new hospitality area and there is going to be a serious shake up at ER over the summer and will result in NW pretty much starting the team again apart from 3 or 4 players.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Leeds have not been bankrupt for a start! Grayson was given serious money secondly and your 3rd comment is known to everyone sounds like the so called director is a numpty

Agree4 Disagree4

To the second post- who did Grayson spend serious money on? We coundnt even afford to keep our best players we had!
I'm not sure on the validity of the first post but it's true we have averaged about £440,000 in transfer FEES over the past 6yrs which is a pittance for a club like leeds

Agree5 Disagree5

I am the third poster. £440k is per year just to clarify

Agree4 Disagree2

Grayson had the lowest transfer budget in the league, FACT, and the lowest wage budget as a percentage of revenue - around 35% of turnover, also a fact.

First poster's a fantasist - I'm a company director and I would never discuss confidential company information outside the boardroom, especially something which could lead to a legal case for something like constructive dismissal.

Agree4 Disagree4

N.w. has his own targets in mind, fact n.w. will sign mid field hard men, fact n.w. will do this and not waste money needlessly like s.g.
fact, also hearing the word beckford?? around e.r. warnock will lead us back to the promised land this is from the horses mouth guaranteed m.o.t.

Agree3 Disagree3

Grayson didn't really waste money he just used what he had . if he had been given the money to spend on transfer fees we would of been going up this season but he has been forced to sign free players saving bates money . we should be spending around 1 mil per player unless out of contract if we expect to go up . sometimes there is some real quality for free but other teams want these players as well and will beat us as we pay poor wages and until we change our ways we will be getting worse rather than better.
last season qpr spent 3.5 mil on transfer fees and spent 140%+ of annual turnover on wages to get promoted we spent 35% and we got 7th had we of spen the recomended amount on wages we would of probably got promoted so all blame is on bates sown up pockets nothing to do with grayson

Agree2 Disagree1

I think everyone should brace themselves for the sale of snodgrass to get funds for our promotion push

Agree1 Disagree1

If you look at squad i dont blame bates for giving him no money, we have 3 or 4 good players the rest are rubbish!! lets see what happens to the summer mot

zac thopmsons red card was a mistake zaco idnt even touch mcanuff

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Reading players got him sent off ref rushed his decision yellow at worst for the swipe! that set the tone of the game

Agree5 Disagree2

Stupid tackle. He stays on his feet & it doesn't matter what the Reading players are doing. Also if he would have just hoofed it into the stands moments earlier this discussion would not be happening.
He's a good young player though, who hopefully will have learnt from this mistake.
On a separate note. Pugh's tackle was horrible and was a certain red, even Warnock said so.

Agree5 Disagree6

HE DOS'NT HAVE TO TOUCH HIM YOU FOOL IF THERE IS INTENT TO FOUL HIM,JUST ACCEPT HE WAS A PRICK...........

Agree4 Disagree5

There was no intent to foul him you person . i think he had the intent to tackle him .fast feet from the reading player just mad Thompson late in the challenged just unlucky really that both feet had left the ground which he is then out of control apparently .

Agree0 Disagree1

You mean a person like you?

Personally I'd sign Alex McCarthey no offence to Lonners

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Thats a good shout

Agree7 Disagree2

I would do the same mate and keep lonners as back up on the bench as mccarthy has proved to be a really good keeper for us. MOT

Agree4 Disagree2

I would do the same mate and put them both in the goal at the same time.

Agree4 Disagree1

Warnock doesn't use 2 gks so keeper comes in then lonergans off .hes too good to sit in reserves

I think we are all in agreement the long ball game does not work, at least in this division anyway. Yesterday with 11 men on the pitch for all the game, and playing the ball on the deck I personally feel we would have won the game. Reading didn't have that many chances against a 10 man Leeds team and it was only because Lees got pul led out of position and Lonergan came off his line combined with a mixture of tired legs we lost. NW should have made substitutions earlier and put on fresh legs. Two pleasing points from yesterday team spirit and as always the best followed team in the UK. Next season we will be the team to watch NW is a shrewd bloke so good team good manager amazing crowd will see us promoted MOT

Believable4 Unbelievable1

We was down to 10 men to be fair!

Warnock should bring in the following players (once the dead wood has gone).
Kenny, Hill, Mills, Kilgallon, Ambrose, Pitman (good target man to compete with Beechio) and the surprise leader in Danny Murphy on a two year contract! Keep Snograss, McCormack, Beechio and Clayton would be a very strong 11 to take us up.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Loving the murphy shout

sometimes i read these comments and i think people go a bit OTT with them, just because people have an opinion which may be different to yours based on a player/performance doesnt mean that they should go support another team people are entitled to opinion (even if most people think its wrong), ive got a friend who thinks Lonergans rubbish, it annoys me but i dont tell him to support another team its stupid and unnessecary, peoples opinions dont make them any less of a fan of this fantastic football club with brilliant support, fair enough we probably wont agree on everything but people have their own opinions so i dont see why people should 'go support another team', theres only one team people would want to support anyway and its this one, so lets keep it that way yeah?

Believable7 Unbelievable1

I think Lonergan is rubbish too mate but i totally agree with everything you've said here. Life would be so boring if everyone all had the same opinion on everything. Marching on together.... but vive le difference (as they say in France)

Agree6 Disagree1

I also agree Lonergan was to blame for at least one goal against reading, he just froze, he doesnt command his area good enough, Luckily though Paddy Kenny is here next season and he will be our No1.
Lets play Barn door Billy and Nunez and lets see what they can do...... Gj

Agree6 Disagree2

Im OP he rightfully covered his front post, you never know what couldve snook in, bruce just stood and ball watched as ALF chested in

Agree2 Disagree1

Had lonergan of stayed where he was and the ball had been headed into the net at the near post lonergan would of still been to blame so he couldnt win really could he

Surely NW can start the process to bring Alan smith back to ER? We need his skills and guts

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Hes over the hill now mate, too many injuries

Agree9 Disagree3

Dont think so he's well past it..

Agree9 Disagree3

I really wish people on here would stop living in the past. Harte, Smith, Kilgallon etc. - nothing against them and grateful for the excellent contribution the first two made but we need to be looking to the future not the past.

Agree9 Disagree1

The only guts Smithy has these days is round his waist!!!! Middle aged spread formed through all those months warming the Newcastle bench.

Agree9 Disagree1

I've noticed he's mainly on the bench at milton keynes dons so why would we want him back. Surely his fitness would be a problem anyway.

Agree5 Disagree1

Harte would be a great signing he is very good with free kicks still and we dont really have a player like that. most our free kicks hit the wall

Agree0 Disagree1

Agree about bringing harte back
smith has played last few games for mk and only had two instances of being on the bench but still a big risk
whatever...
I'll be intrigued to see what Warnock does in the summer, still think he will do a good job

Agree0 Disagree0

Always thought Harte would have been good when we had mad max who won loads of free kicks!

Michael Brown what a player! Shows loads of aggression but doesn't go in like a maniac he goes in professionally, wins the ball and takes the man with him, also superb at reading the game and providing cover for the defence, although he's getting on a bit but I'd have him in my starting 11 next season.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Yeah its a shame we didnt have him 4/5 years ago, at the start of the season i thought he was shocking but seems a different player under warnock

Agree7 Disagree1

Starts to put some good effort now his contract is almost up. I wonder why that is?

Agree1 Disagree3

Michael stop posting on here! this is for leeds fans not players!
