So where was Beckford?
I wasn't at the game, so I don't know what sort of reception he got when he came on?
Rather sad that he walked away from Leeds to Everton, on a 'free' so we made nothing from him (whereas I presume both he and his agent made money?)
And here he is sitting on the bench at Leicester?
How the 'mighty' have fallen?
Though I have respect for the goals he scored and the help he gave us in getting promoted, you seriously have to ask yourself the question, what is he feeling like now?
Any feelings?
Believable5
Unbelievable0
A large section of our fans decided to applaud and chant beckfords name, cheering when he clapped us and cameon as a substitute. Ironically our fans booied schmiecal, who was very loyal to Leeds and didn't want to leave.
I wasn't about to start chanting a players name who thought he was better than Leeds, left for f**k all, then sits on the bench of a team lower than us in the league, coming on for ten minutes. Beckford stated in the programme that Leeds was the best place he had ever played. Empty compliment if you ask me as he soon jumped ship......
No your limit beckford......look where you are now!
Agree5
Disagree5
Sounds rather sad as far as Beckford is concerned then, one reason I never burn bridges behind me, always nice to get asked back to work for companies where a good job is done on both sides.
Also doesn't say much for his time at Everton either?
Wonder if he still has the same person for a manager, as they are both obviously still making money out of transfer deals, despite using his backside to warm benches....
Agree2
Disagree0
What annoys me is we gave him his big opportunity. Made him who he was and he left on a free without a second thought for us and everton made £4 million out of him.
Now he isn't even getting a game at Leicester city....
Agree4
Disagree2
Yeah because him leaving on a free is totally his fault, nothing to do with us letting his contract run out or not selling him when we had the chance...
Beckford played a very big part in us getting promotion, why does he deserve abuse it's not like he refused to play or played terrible like a spoilt brat. He was nothing but professional during his time at Leeds.
Agree7
Disagree1
And exactly how much money should we have been held to ransom by him then. It's a two way game contract negotiations. So many people on here are quick to have a go about people morning about poor signings and contracts, paying over the odds. Beckford never wanted to re-sign. He thought he was better than he was. If it wasn't for becchio doing all his leg work he wouldn't have scored so many goals. Let's not forget the other 10 players who also contributed goals and performances. He wasn't a one man band and missed as many as he scored.
Look where he is now.....I bet he regrets every minute of ir
Agree1

Lcfc never paid 4 mill for beckford, yes look where he is now same place you are in the championship, but then i forgot what a proper big club you are
Agree3
Disagree3
Erm, yes they did. bob on to your own page.
Agree1
Disagree3
Yea Leicester is a proper big club. Bought by some naive Thai lads pissed on their own singa beer. They'll soon realise what a s**t hole Leicester is and pull out!
Agree3
Disagree1
Loads of money and that what worries your tiny little mind isn't it
Agree4
Disagree0
What on earth is the guy talking about who said Schmeichel was very loyal to Leeds? He only came for a season! I'm afraid he tried to use us as a stepping stone to the Premiership but finished up at the mighty, erm, Leicester!
Agree1
Disagree1
It's time people left Beckford alone. He had a tremendous scoring record for the club; scored the goal which left the League One nightmare behind; scored the goal which beat the vermin at old scaffold. What more do some people want?

Good result today, can't deny that. But there must be an argument to temporarily break up the Keogh/McCormack axis up front. They have done well, but they are looking tired and have not looked a goal threat in the last few games. That was evident, so why is Luciano not getting a start? I know he has looked less than sharp, but if the aforementioned need a rest and Luciano needs minutes, why not put him in? He deserves a chance. Have people forgotten how good he has been for us? We need him fit, back and firing.
Believable14
Unbelievable1
Totally agree. They haven't fathomed a chance between them. McCormack definitely needs to stay, quick, intelligent and agile. Becchio perhaps! It worked with him and beckford and Ross is more of a work horse....
It's not worked for 8 games now. Time for a change Grayson. Forssell perhaps?
Agree5
Disagree1
Slowly, gently, no massive change needed. I still think McCormack and Becchio up front with Snodgrass and Keogh behind them would be a good choice?
Agree2
Disagree5
Forssell has looked pretty awful when he's come on as sub. I was quite excited when we signed him - just I was pretty excited when we signed Brolin...
Agree1
Disagree1
Leave rossy up top with a big lad, itll work
Agree4
Disagree0
Forssell like becchio needs games...... Forssell should be considered more. He assisted Ross for his goal against palace. Only reason Forssell looked bad in his last game was because he was up front with a carbon copy of himself!
Agree1
Disagree2
I think it's time to get Luciano and Jonny playing as they did last season. give McCormack a break, or put him on the wing with Pugh central.
Agree2

Forssell and mcormack

well done simon!! beat the pre-season favourites at their home ground, hope more results like this prove all your doubters wrong, shows how much faith the majority of the fans have in you, get in there!!
Believable8
Unbelievable0
I went today, and to be honest I am delighted with the win. However it has changed my mind as to what I think of Grayson. We beat the pre-season favourites, but their a talented team currently with no direction or leadership. On their day that team should be demolishing the Championship.
Far too long today we played negative football and Graysons decision making could have cost us the game. 1-0 and he leaves becchio up front on his own. No pace, skill or intelligence. Happy to sit back far too early for me. Still giving the ball away needlessly. Nearly cost us a couple of times.
Very impressed with O'Brien though. Looked sharp, alert and confident. Hope he isn't
injured now. Paddy made some good challenges too, but pace lacking totally.
Connolly....?? Well do we still have Gary Kelly's number? I bet he could do a better job
Agree3
Disagree7
How can it change your mind about Grayson? That's illogical. Teams often perform well after losing a manager - the players have something to prove to those in the running for the job. Grayson got it spot on - we won AND kept a clean sheet. What more can you reasonably ask for?

Joke of the week;
Rachubka keen on first team stay.
Goalkeeper Paul Rachubka is intent on restoring his reputation with Leeds fans after his recent error against Coventry in their 1-1 draw.

As I have posted elsewhere, Rachubka deserved his chance, unfortunately he hasn't come through....

1 win wow, Grayson still doesnt know what to do, he should be shown the door, he was lucky today, there will be more losses than wins, Mark Hughes is the man for the job, premiership experience he would bring us on. Leeds under Grayson are rubbish, its as clear cut as that !!
Believable6
Unbelievable10
Why would Hughes want to come to Leeds?
Agree6
Disagree0
Grayson is a great manager. Look what happened to forest and Leicester with prem experiance managers this season, both sacked. If Grayson goes it will be our loss not his.
Agree7
Disagree4
When Grayson goes our club will be able to move forward, its static under his management, granted there are limited funds but an experienced manager will do better,Mclaren is a joke, he only got the jobs he had because he was Fergi's No 2
Agree3
Disagree7
Still not enough for you grayson haters is it, we beat the pre-season favourites who are paying one player more than what our whole team is on!! shows what a good manager grayson is with the resources hes got!!
Agree9

Static? Year on year improvement I call it. That's what the stats show, so what evidence are you going to call on?
Agree4

Statistics, stastistics...need i say more?

What on earth is this original poster on??
Why are there not managers queing up to mmanage our club and sponsors to buy it??
Get real.... we have a dam good manager and a club owner who is spending for the future, our ground is beginning to look like a premiership ground again, at last??
Agree2

Do I seriously need to repeat the 'statistics' with the red and yellow balls?
Lets see where we are at xmas,, when we have played eevryone (and everyone else has played each other and get a fair starting ground??

Paddy and OB have definately given Larry something to think about :/ Personall i would stick with them and put Lees at RB instead of connolly and rotate Pugh and O'Dea at LB, keeping White on the wing :)
MOT!

Lees at CB every day of the week. Good to see Paddy & OB play well though - I was nervous about having to play them but credit to them, they kept out a good set of players.
And all the Grayson haters take note - Leicester's position says it all. Good teams are built over time and we need to be patient. He's done fantastically well with limited resources and anyone who thinks that a big name manager could just walk through the door and do better with the players we have is deluded on two fronts - 1) they won't come through the door in the first place - 2) if by some miracle one did I doubt that it would make much difference.

Clayton deserves a crack at captain so howson can get his head down and get back to how he was great win today long way to go but signs are good !! mot
Agree0
Disagree2
Something needs to happen with Howson I'd agree on that point....
Agree2
Disagree0
Not sure that either Clayton or Howson should be captain. They're young and don't need the pressure. Johnny's had an indifferent season and he works best in a 5, but he's a top player at this level and he'll learn how to play in a 4.
Agree0
Disagree0
If one of O'Brien and Kisnorbo can produce consistant form, they should have the armband.
Agree0
Disagree0
Lonergan for captain? Howson out of cm, we need a vinnie/batty midfield general to later Clayton so he can produce more goals of that calibre..
Agree2
Disagree2
Howson played well ye idiots dont realise that hes doing the nitty gritty so clayton can do stuff like that
Agree1

I dont know what games youve been watching.. I guess Clayton has been getting man of match altime for letting howson do all work then!?
Agree0

Howson Is Doin Well An Even Grayson Has Came Out And Said He Doesn't Know Were Criticism Is Coming From Clayton Is Getting Man Of The Match For His Creative Play For Leeds Howson Is Playin Well He Is Breaking Up The Play In The Centre The Only Reason your Moaning About Him Is Coz Hes Not Scoring Compared To Last Year Hes Playin A Comletely Different System Shut Up And Give The Players Support Instead Of Criticising Smething Every Flippin Week Ye Grayson And Howson Haters Make Me Sick Both Are Doin Good Jobs

I will be big enough to admit we did need a backup goalkeeper for Lonergan but I also felt Rachubka should have been given his chance too?
Ironically it looks as though we could have but a bonfire guy between the posts today?

Oh dear, oh dear. Bet whoever posted this feels a real t**t, and quite right too. Hope this has shut the anti-Grayson lobby up too (I won't dignify them with the term 'supporters'). An excellent result - and Grayson's quick move on the keeper front shows we do have the right man.

I happily admit to being completely wrong on this one! Mind you Leicester were utter s**te according to my mate at the game and didn't have one decent effort on target. My mates at The Clarence are shortly kicking my naked arse out onto the High St. where I shall happily dangle my junk during a 50 yard shuffle still outsprinting Paddy and O'Brien! :D

Doesn't mater what Leicester are like, you worte our team off before they'd even kicked a ball?????

Dont pretend you didnt write them off! Great result proud of the team! once again Clayton stands up n delivers.. But sadly feared the worst
Agree2

Yet another couple of the Emperor's New Clothes Brigade. Why wouldn't I think we would lose against Leicester? Blackpool had only won one away game on the opening day and slaughtered us! We usually gift teams an equaliser about 5 minutes after we score and yesterday we did our best to hand the initiative back to Leicester for the last 20 mins by going ultra-defensive. Same old story every game! The Emperor is naked boys!!
Grayson is running on the spot, has the tactical nous of a retarded hedgehog and signs players who he then refuses to use. Why sign Nunez to a 4 year contract and then not include him in the squad since? Why get in Forrssell and Vayrynen, both internationals, and never start a game with them? Squad rotation is necessary, especially when you have 8 games in 3 weeks. I reckon you would struggle to get a £50 Morrisons voucher for Connolly, Bruce, Bromby, O'Brien and Kisnorbo! Old men who are League 2 cannon fodder IMHO. The Gorgonzola Crew.
I have supported Leeds since 1970 and want them back up where they belong, but it ain't going to happen with Grayson managing and Bates frightening off any serious investors.
Agree5
Disagree0
And it ain't gonna happen with people like you who write the team off before they've kicked a ball and not halfway through the season yet either????/
Agree0

Don't be so blinkered! Do you honestly thinkj my worthless opinion in any affects how the team plays or what management decisions are made at the club. I am entitled to question things and state my opinion - I have been to hell and back many, many times in my 46 years of supporting Leeds. Blindly accepting whatever is going on at ER is a moronic stance and we the fans are usually the ones that literally pay. Stick your head in the sand if you want mate, but don't tell me what to think or post!
