OK well I'll be brave enough to be shot down for saying I'd happily see Becchio rejoin us for the rest of this season if the stories are true. All about survival this season and I think he could still do a job for us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not sure becc is up to it anymore mate. Has he played in the last year?
Bit of a gamble getting him back!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be happy to see him back, I remember when Ian Baird came back for his second spell, Luciano could have the same impact.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who knows how well Luciano would do, what I do know is that the current squad/ team are lacking quality, confidence, suitable formation. If something does not change we could go down. So Luciano can score and is proven at this level all we need is a scrappy win and our season can change, confidence is boosted, quality looks better as players give a bit more and no matter what formation the manager picks if they win it becomes a good formation. I would like to see him return.

Hey Stickey
Good post
I don't know if he'd be good enough either, but he would def give his all, like he did before. Was sorry to see him go

You have to remember he's playing against lesser sides. If he's so great why were Fulham so keen to get rid?

Agree0 Disagree0

When he was playing for us, 2nd top scorer with 13 and 2nd assists number and he was playing against championship oppo and I am sure he scored past Liverpool and Everton.

Fulham were keen to get rid, because they thought they had bought 45 goals combined to shoot them back to the prem.

Agree0 Disagree0

Make that 4 more. Good effort at any standard

So, Pavoletti, N'Goyi and Krhin strongly linked.

Loads of championship experience there.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Norris, Tonge, Pearce & Morison are all experienced Championship players, yet the fans moan if they're near the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

You have a point but these are signings to be made in the summer, when you are building a squad. Not trying to stay up and consolidate.

We brought in, Berrardi, Bianchi, Montenegro, Benedicic, Doukara, Antenucci, Adryan, Beluschi and Silvestri over the summer. All who were new to the English game (Cept Monty to an extent) and now are now up to speed with the league. Whether they are any good or not is not the point.

We can't afford to go through the same situation again and have the new guys take 6-7 games to get used to the league, or even sit in the reserves.

And frankly speaking, if we were to sign a "Tonge" or a "Norris" now it would be a good move. Players to get stuck in and prove a point. We need Championship experience.

I would be happy to see Morrison back in the side instead of Doukara and Pearce needs good competition (finally with Cooper) to ensure he stays on his toes and Tonge had a good game or two, but was just not consistent enough. All brought the experience we crave.

How about this for Bolton

Byram Cooper DelFabro Warnock
Belusci/Austin
Sloth Cook Adryan Mowatt
Antenucci

A choice of the better ball player Belusci or the high energy Austin. If we are in the ascendency then Adryan moves forward to support Antenucci with a licence to roam. I have a feeling that played consistently more forward there are goals in Adryan.
On the bench would be Montenegro with a view to resting Cook/Mowatt or push with 4-1-3-2 if chasing the game.

This would be my pick

Silvestri
Byram Del Fabro Cooper C Taylor
Bellisci Austin
Sloth Adryan Montenegro
Sharp

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - I don't think Montenegro is ready for the Championship, he needs to build as a player. Maybe sub appearances will help him}

Warnock out so Taylor may get another game, after going Sun I agree with Ed Montenegro took a while to get into the game, more gradual game time could improve him, we need to start testing apposing keepers a bit more as we are shot shy upfront, also we don't seem to have a striker that can head the ball either, if it's a high cross in the keeper or defender always gets the ball.

nr says resting players but didn't byram play every game two seasons ago only missing last game .still think nr is hoping he comes up with a team that wins hit or miss at moment no reasons why he does things can't do across your fingers and hope the game needs tactics and you play a team that can beat them and you play a formation to do this and change players positions tactics style of play to counter act there play . playing the same way against every team means he doesn't know other teams strengths ans weakness . but hopefully he'll learn sooner rather than later and we can get good results and give us the results we deserve Bolton 1 leeds 2

I know most of the talk has been about us bringing one or two much needed players in during the transfer window. But, let's not be too shocked when one of our youngsters moves on. It might not happen until the summer, but MC did say right from the outset that part of his plan was to cash in on some of the young talent, so when we get another silly offer that's too good to refuse for Sam or Cook or Mowatt or whoever - it's going to happen. And it will be good business for us, well done to Redders work with the academy, and good luck to the lad.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That doesn't mean sell all your best. These are the players that will keep us in the prem. If and when we get there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Marshy. Would make no sense, either business or otherwise, to sell all our best players. Nobody is suggesting that. But this is a business (in a dire financial state), so if, and when, offers too good to refuse come in for our youngsters - some will be accepted. If we are offered say10 mill for a player who has come through the academy and effectively cost us nowt - I don't think at the moment we can afford to turn it down. Hopefully before too long we will be in both a strong financial and league position where no player wants to leave and we don't need the money, so we will be able to tell other clubs to f**k off. Not there yet by a long way

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree with you Speedyg. We're not stable at the moment and MC'S priority is to do just that. I'd hate the thought of Cook, Mowatt or Byram going, but the club is priority. We have a great academy and we'll keep churning them out and hopefully one day we will have a team 1st team full of academy players. Unfortunately other clubs also know we have a great academy and circle like sharks waiting to take our next new star.

thought mc was sound money wise or is he another one wanting his outlay back asp he said he could lose 4m a year so no reason to sell unless stupid offer comes in at 15m remember he got money for ross already

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a bit like the Ross Mc situation - and let's not stoke up all that argument again about whether we miss him or not etc etc. But sometimes an offer just can't be turned down. But JT yes, what a perfect situation that would be. In the premiership playing virtually all academy players. That's the stuff dreams are made of

Agree0 Disagree0

Upup
I think he's VERY different from the last few regimes, but it is still a business and I think he's trying to make it self sufficient, which makes sense to me. He's inherited far more of a mess than he ever imagined (I'm sure partly due to his lack of proper due diligence), so despite his passion I don't think he's prepared to keep throwing money at it without seeing some improvement. And don't forget he's got all this FL stuff hanging over him, which could potentially rumble on and on and on. This may explain the Torro Rosso hanging about in the shadows. If MC is eventually forced out or decides he's fed up of fighting FL opposition, and Torro come in with a huge offer, I for one wouldn't blame him for taking it and saying goodbye. I'm sure he would have never dreamt of taking this on if he'd realised everything was going to be as problematic as it has been

Agree0 Disagree0

I dunno Speedy, I think MC seems to enjoy and is used to a fight, look at the trouble he had in Italy re stadium.

He strikes me as someone who likes to say his piece but to be fair he is hard to read as he says so much different stuff and different times, a very hard guy to really understand, but seems to enjoy a fight for sure. So in the end who knows, re players everyone at our level has their price, as long as money reinvested that is the way of things, I loved Ross but not worth 10m so no brainier, selling smith mind you for 750k was a poor decision
